This was genuinely one of the worse books I’ve ever read.
Cons:
-they fell in love way too fast. Like 2 weeks after being together they say ily
-I felt like the couple had no romantic buildup at all
-this had so much potential but it was written badly
-a lot of grammar mistakes
- the fact that the male mc’s real name is angel but people call him the devil Bcs of his reputation just pissed me off alot, like I get it it’s supposed to be ironic but it just made me mad
-the girl mc, Alice, kept saying “he might be the devil to others but he’s an angel” or some sort of shit like that. Like okay if it was said once or twice I’d ignore it but she said it so many time I wanted to kill her
-the names; normally I can ignore names but wtf is angel frost
I don’t have any pros atp Bcs I genuinely think this book put me in a slump

Wow this book, guys! Oh my gosh, it's amazing!
Angel was sent to prison and the guards made his life hell. He was tortured for two years, almost every day in ways that you can't even begin to imagine. Now he is free and out for revenge, and won't stop until everyone has payed and suffered like he did. But what he didn't see coming was Alice, the woman who makes him question everything he thought he wanted from life and the intense whirlwind that comes with it!
Angel is unapologetically vicious and makes sure the world knows it too. But deep down there is a sweet loving side to him that he lets only certain people see. Family means everything to him and he protects them with his life. Alice is hunted by a family that wants to do unbelievable things to her and she has been in hiding all her life, protected by the few people she can trust. But when she meets Angel, her life becomes much more crazier and the growing connection she has with him can't be denied for long.
This is one of those complete attraction at first sight and they just can't get enough of each other although they know they probably shouldn't, they really shouldn't. Oh how I loved that! Angel can be over protective and kinda possessive (but for a good reason) but I love that Alice doesn't let him of the hook so easily and instead fights back! She is in no way a person who would just do as she is told. I love that about her the most but also her amazing personality and the way she cares for her loved ones so deeply.
This is full of darkness and intensity that had me hooked the entire time. I was definitely on the edge of my seat. The writing is amazing and I don't even know how to describe it, it's just brilliant. And that freaking cliffhanger in the end! I was just sitting there my hand covering my mouth, in shock of what happened. It makes you want to pick up the second book straight away and that's exactly what I did. This is a crazy wild ride of a book, for sure, and I adored it!

November 14, 2020Sadly I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. The writing style was decent, but I think it can be improved, there were times when I felt like we jumped from one scene to another and sometimes the dialogue confused me. Overall the book was entertaining and a good start for reader that would like to get into mafia romances. Trigger warnings: torture, blood, amputation, guns, drugs, violence.

Angel just comes out of prison wheere he was for two years. He took the blame from his brother but he didn't know that another mob family wanted his bigger brother Elijah there because they thought that he was the reason the boss's daughter was murdered but 1 they didn't know who she was because her mother has change her name and 2 Elijah loved her and it had took him a lot till he fell in love with Gwen and they got married and she got pregnant but before that he revenged Amy or Catherine. And those two years Angel has been through living hell that he'll never forget even after he murdered them all.
Now he's out and on the first night when he goes to his club and sees Alice he knows that she's his. They both fall madly in love. In order to make her leave to keep her save Angel makes Alice to think that he fucked other woman when he didn't but he quickly understands that she's his life and fights to get her back. In the end Elijah gets killed even though his brother took two bullets for him and while they wait for Angel to get out of surgery Ben calls Vinny and tells him that the Midlands family who killed Alice's parents sixteen years ago and where looking for her know where she's and that she's with Angel and she has to make this impossibly hard decission to leave him.
Now first Angel. Cheffs Kiss. Amazing! We love tall dark haired blue eyes mafia man with his own demons to defead and who will make anything to protect his girl. What i really liked about this book was the connection between the Frost family and the fact that Angel doesn't leave innocent kids and woman and people to die and starts a war just because a kid has been murdered because of guns being salled on the streets. Really respect for him about that. And the fact that his father and grandfather raised both him and Elijah and Warren to keep women and protect them and to never make them feel any emotional pain really got me. And the love they all have for each other. But i can't say that Angel is one of my top favourites.
Warren really annoyed because yeah he was cool but Drew doesn't deserve to be treated like a girl just for fuck. I mean come on Warren listen to your brother.
Alice is definetely one of my favourite book girls because she is so strong and would do anything for her loved ones just like Angel andi really hope she's going to be alright in the next book.
And now the most important. WHY DID ELIJAH HAD TO DIE?????!!! He was one of my favourites of this book if not my favourite and oh god poor Gwen. I mean WHY???? THAT WAS AWFUL! 🤬😢😢
I really hope that everything is going to end well in the second book and if Angel and Alice don’t get back together, Warren or Drew are not happy, Ellie doesn't find love and Gwen has justice i would be really dissapointed. But seriously if Angel and Alice are not together i'll start a fucking riot about it

Okay so where do I start?
It was so bad I couldn’t look away kinda deal. 🙃
First of all, it all happened out of nowhere. Angel and Alice have very minimal interaction before he claims her as his and she accepts. And then they’re in love? Bugged me the whole book. There was no foundation for their relationship whatsoever. And in this case even the fact that it’s dual POV didn’t help.
The action was also rushed and out of place. No major event had much of an impact on the story line as it was rushed through. It’s all about Alice in a very obnoxious, repetitive way.
Also, anybody else get major Peaky Blinders vibes for some reason? Like I straight up imagine Angel as Thomas Shelby.
And the smut wasn’t even that good. 😅 Having said that, I’ve ready started reading the second book. 🥴

I had such high hopes for this book but it fell flat.
This is very fast paced, *OW DRAMA* H kisses another woman in front of h at his club to get the message across that he does not like the h so his enemies don’t come for her. A mouthful right? Why couldn’t he have just ended it? The few chapters after that he was a possessive dick, don’t get me wrong I love a possessive man in my dark or mafia romances. But to cheat? Nah you have no right to be possessive at this point. He kept telling everyone that he didn’t do the full deed with the woman so it doesn’t count. K. You still failed to communicate with h, embarrassed her in front of a bunch of people?

Holy moley what a intense gripping book I just read. I honestly think I held my breath while reading it. This is my first book by a new arthur and mercy can she tell a story.
Angel Frost is the the King of the Frost family ever since his father stepped down. He just got out of a 2 yr prison sentence and has nothing but retribution against the guards who he found out were paid by someone to take him out, but that all fails as he's coming home. He stops at the bar that his family owns takes one look at Alice and he wants her for himself. He comes across a lil bit overbearing and possessive, but you can't help but love the guy.
Alice works as a bartender at the bar the Frost family owns shes only heard rumors about how Angel is about how everyone is scared of him, but she gets a look at him and she's partly scared of him and the other turned on, but she has a secret and knows that she can't trust anyone especially the Frost family. Just what that secret is...you'll need to one click and find out you won't be disappointed.

So for the first time reading Ruby Wolff I have to say I was intrigued by her characters and fantasy land. It did take me a bit to get into the book. I did leave this book to read another book and come back to this one. I do not like to do this, but I wanted to give this story another chance. I am so happy that I did. Once the story started going I was really into the book and the book started flowing.
I am hoping to see some questions answered and that Ruby keeps the story flowing in the next book and we don't fall back into the "what is going on", moments that I was getting at the beginning of this book.

This book blew me away. I was emotionally invested in this story. Angel Frost is the roughest, bad$#s head of mafia controlling the London area. He does what needs to be done. He views women has f&$k them and leave them. He has no desire to have a relationship. Alice walks into the bar owned by the mafia. She asks for a job. Their clandestine connection meant neither one was willing to give up this opportunity.
There are so many turns and twists with loss, devastation and angst. Alice has many secrets of her past. It catches up with her with Angel needing to assist her. This book has very dark elements so be aware.

I loved this book! Especially Alice. I loved that she wasn’t weak at all, and had her own backstory. The author did a fantastic job weaving their lives together.
Angels need for revenge is all consuming, and even when he finds Alice, he still stays focused. I loved the suspense throughout the book, and couldn’t put it down. The steam was just right, and I fell in love with Angel and his over the top possessive alpha attitude! Thank goodness book 2 is already out, I need answers after that cliffhanger!

I only gave 4 stars because there's some grammar and spelling mistakes. Not loads but a few I think you need a better proof reader. The story is great I'm in love with the characters especially angel. Definitely buying book two and I do recommend this book. Action fighting revenge and sexy bedroom scenes.

This book will pull you in right from the start and have you wanting more and more.
Alice and Angel will have your heart racing, pulse pounding with their back and forth action packed emotional read with so many twists and turns you won't be able to put it down. So can't wait for the next one.

What can I say!!!! Ruby Wolff is a new author for me. She had me hook, line and sinker from the very first page! I TOTALLY LOVE a “bad boy with a good heart!” It was pretty intense story, leaving us with a crazy arse cliffhanger! 😳
Angel Frost is the King of the Frost Family. He just got out of a 2 year jail sentence for a crime he did not commit. Being tortured almost everyday by the guards, has left his body riddled with scars and he is out and looking for blood! He is unforgiving and relentless with his quest for revenge and he doesn’t care who stands in his wake. Protecting his family is not something he takes lightly. Family means everything to him. They are the only ones he trusts. He will move heaven and earth to make sure everyone is safe no matter who gets in the way.

This book is about a mafia crime lord who plots out his revenge after being put in jail for 2 years and unexpectedly meets a woman who rocked his world and caught him off guard. While I enjoy a good mafia romance book, I never read a book that features a mafia family based in London. I'm not sure if it's unheard of or uncommon, but it was a nice addition to the setting. The setting didn't have a lot of descriptions as much as I would have liked, but the story was more than enough to make up for it. The plot was extensive, since it centered around Angel's revenge, which was definitely exciting and it moved quickly. I just found the revenge plot had even smaller subplots and too many characters and families involved that sometimes I would get confused and lose track of everyone. But eventually, things made more sense and I got the hang of pretty much everyone. The gory aspects of the book at the hands of the Frost family was something that really kept me turning the pages quickly, and I loved it. It's definitely not a mafia book if there isn't any blood, guns, or fights involved.
The romance was a slight miss for me. I'm not a fan of an insta-love relationship, and while I liked Angel and Alice's relationship, I just found it a bit too toxic for my liking. I like them both as separate characters, but together, not so much. I could understand the appeal of their hot and cold relationship, their obsession with one another, and Angel's alpha male tendencies towards her, but I guess that was something I wasn't into when combined all together. But I wouldn't deny their chemistry together, both in and out of bed. I just wished they had more tender moments than what we had to make up for the lack of depth in their relationship.
That ending though! I would definitely need to read the second book in order to know how things will turn out when the events just went south and rolling down the hill. For a debut novel, kudos to the author for writing a very well-done and action-packed mafia romance novel!

This book is about a mafia crime lord who plots out his revenge after being put in jail for 2 years and unexpectedly meets a woman who rocked his world and caught him off guard. While I enjoy a good mafia romance book, I never read a book that features a mafia family based in London. I'm not sure if it's unheard of or uncommon, but it was a nice addition to the setting. The setting didn't have a lot of descriptions as much as I would have liked, but the story was more than enough to make up for it. The plot was extensive, since it centered around Angel's revenge, which was definitely exciting and it moved quickly. This was my first read by Ruby Wolff (and actually I think it is her debut novel (maybe?)) and I really enjoyed it! It has some fairly typical dark-mafia vibes, but Wolff does a great job of creating a unique story and adding original elements.
This novel is set in London and focuses on Angel, the assumed leader of the Frost family. Angel is actually the middle brother, but he assumes the family head position when his father steps down because he has always been more of a leader than his two brothers. He spends two years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, and now he's out for revenge on the ones who hurt him.
Our heroine is Alice who is on the run from a different mafia family; a family who will stop at nothing to find her. I really loved Alice's character. She is spunky, fierce, and headstrong. She knows how to take are of herself even though, and probably because, she's been running and hiding for most of her life.
The dynamic between Angel and Alice is so fiery! I love their push and pull and their banter. Alice is not a roll-over and take orders kind of lady, even for the Mafia King of London. And Angel isn't used to people not heeding his commands.
This novel does end in a heck of a cliffy, but as a duet, that is to be expected... I can't wait to start book 2, though, The Fall and Rise of King!

Omg I loved it, this story reminded me of the peaky blinders.
Angel is the head of the Frost Family he’s been in jail because of a setup from an enemy, has been through a lot and now that he is out wants revenge from those who hurt him and the one who gave the orders. He is hunting down the enemy but in between that he meets Alice a head strong girl who is running from her own past, someone in a powerful family is looking for her. When Angel and Alice come together they find their soulmates but nothing is flowers and roses in the mafia.
I really enjoy reading the book because the characters are everything you want in a mafia book. He is powerful, feared and good looking 😉 and she is strong , stubborn and beautiful, they go great together.
The plot was a good one, you get a lot of story in between their love story and I like that, I want to know what is happening outside the main characters relationship and we get what is he dealing with in the family, his revenge, his work, her life outside Angel, see her working, having fun with her friends and yes you get steamy scenes of Angel and Alice.
But there is more to come since it’s a duet, we will have to wait until the next book to get our Happy Ever After.

Ok just wow. This book has everything I love. We get a sassy heroine who is strong tenacious and refuses to be a welcome mat for the hero. We get an OTT alpha who has no problem taking care of business and will do anything to make sure his leading lady knows just who she belongs to.
Alice's life has been anything but a fairytale. She suffered a great loss at a young age and learned early on that life is rough and hard. Angel is a man on a mission. He is out to get the people who have not only wronged him but his family as well. He is known as the devil for a reason. There are no prisoners in his eyes. If you have wronged him or his family he is going to make you pay.
When he first lays eyes on Alice something comes over him. The need to protect and to claim her is just so strong. I love the interaction between these two characters. They are both strong and fit each other perfectly. Now this does on with a cliffhanger and am looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Angel is now back after 2 years of imprisonment for a crime he did not commit. Taking an oath of vengeance upon the people who put him in prison and tortured him, he tries to go back to his routine life. But once he looks at Alice, he is determined to make her his.
This is a proper Mafia Romance Novel with a lot of action, torture, a little suspense, a gripping story and a cliffhanger that will make the readers want to read more.
Personal take:
I enjoyed reading the book from the first chapter itself and with the cliffhanger like that I want to know what will happen next fast

If you are in need of an action packed, mysterious, steamy hot, witty, unpredictable book this is for you, the book since chapter one had me wondering in the unknown of what will happen next, every characters gives something to the book making it a wonderful read that you will love, our main characters are out of this world and you will want more of them, can wait for the next book in this series.

I really enjoyed this mafia read, the h was not a timid character which made for a great interaction with the H. This book is a full length book BUT it continues in book 2. I'm not usually a fan of duets but this book is totally worth it, I just should have saved it and read both back to back, that's my only issue. If you like mafia, strong alpha H and sassy outspoken h's this book is for you.
