Scoring’s easy when you’re the king.

The Kings are the frat-party poster boys of Crestfall Academy, and Peyton King is top of the pile.
Quarterback, superstar, and O-bringer extraordinaire, I hate everything he represents.
I hate him.
But I can use him.
He’s going to make the perfect centerpiece for my newspaper exposé on campus parties.
I’ll get close to him, find out what makes him tick, and lay it out in black and white for the world to see.
If that kind of cutting journalism doesn’t get me out of this two-bit town, I don’t know what will.
It should be easy, so why do I become a giggling idiot at the sight of his mocha eyes and sculpted arms?
I’m, like, totally not obsessed, right?
Right?
There couldn’t possibly be an actual beating heart in that beautiful cold, rock slab of a body, could there?
But questions alone do not a quality story make.
I need to dive deep into Peyton King to make this work.
I need all his dirty little secrets before I blow his world apart.

Good God can we please start being able to give negative stars for a book this bad?!? Two pretty awful characters. I had to skim it after the beginning because it was so God awful. The only reason I even give crap like this a shot after the beginning cluster*** is because occasionally something can have a rough start, but become an amazing book. This wasn’t that time. I can’t really figure out anything to like about this book. The start is bad enough. The guy humiliates the girl because she doesn’t fall to her knees the second he tells her to (literally, he meets her, looks at her tells her to get him off and gets pissed because she isn’t flattered) . He has a threesome with two other girls that night. The next day he decides that she is on his mind so he decides to track her down. This would have been really cute if not for the previously mentioned threesome, so it’s more of a “ew, creepy!”moment. He continues to be shallow. They sleep together right away because she has 0 self respect. She has the magic vagina because even though he has shown to have 0 depth and they didn’t build on anything, he wants her again (unlike all of the other girls). So here is where her shallowness and awful character shows. Some time goes by, girl believes that she loves guy. Guys comes to her about something that could destroy his world, she immediately writes an expose with this information in hopes to further her own career. Girl shows to teacher. He double checks that she wants to run it. She confirms. Later she makes a barely half hearted attempt to change her mind (which come on, a decent person wouldn’t do that to someone they loved in the first place, let alone skip out on the opportunities to back out anyway). The article comes out, he is brokenhearted, she shows up to “explain”, he slurps up her bs excuse and then immediately forgives her. So yeah. God awful characters and a sub par plot that is mostly sex anyway. This one is so bad that I’m going to have retroactively change my star ratings for posterity. This makes almost every 1 share I’ve ever given immediately deserve a 2. Save yourself, there are so many other bad books that rate eons above this one, let alone the good ones.

Erin is a journalist who has a paper to written on frat parties, and who better to write about than quarterback and bad boy Peyton. These two are opposites yet together they are perfect. This is a well written story which is a steamy sports romance which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. I highly recommend for all.

Throw Down by Teagan Kade a five-star read that you will want to throw down with. I love me some sports romance, but not everyone has the pacing and oomph right, but do you know what Teagan Kade just pulls it out every single time, she writes sports romance like a team boss. Peyton King is literally the King of the university, but just because he wears the crown, doesn’t always mean that he wants to be king as we all know all that glitters isn’t gold. Erin is the one who doesn’t fall at his feet, she has her own story and once he finds that out, well that’s when the drama starts. This is a passion filled story and one you would be sad to miss.

Disappointed

Peyton King deserved so much better than Erin. The story, while it was well written, was a grotesque let down of epic proportions.

Spoiler warning

If you like reporters that trick the “bad boy” into falling in love and spilling their guts, then using every personal detail to write an article, this story is for you. Let me also add that one of those very personal details, was being rapped by his HS teacher, yes. She did add that into the article. The author did try to alleviate blame from Erin, because it was the editor that ultimately published said article, Erin did write it and leave it in his hands. Honestly Erin did not deserve the HEA that she got, Peyton deserved far better than a liar and a schemer.

*also Erin used Sex to get these very personal details. As a reporter, I’m honestly disgusted by her actions.

Sorry spoiler alert

Storyline was.good but I hated that being with her caused him to lose focus on his game. Then the author just glosses over all of that and hes winning a Superbowl... serious jump but then the entire ending is rushed. Erin says shes fallen for Peyton but that love doesn't give her the integrity she needed to prevent her from sharing his secrets in an attempt to get ahead. Again this part is rushed through and after fifteen minutes of begging shes forgiven and thanked for bringing to light the bad teacher who took advantage of him. Sigh story had potential but overall the author just seemed to want to shove this story on the reader with no real transitions

I don’t like her ... she’s trash. She used him from the first second she saw him. Her ability to give 0 Fcks was amazing. She finds out something huge that could have cost him his entire future and immediately she tells the world in an article bc it could further her career. No... just no you selfish self centered B!

So disappointed with how easily Peyton forgave Erin! I can't even talk about anything else when it comes to this book! She betrayed him and broke a promise, and all for what?! Honestly I just couldn't get over how easily she was forgiven, it ruined the book for me.

Awesome, wonderful, marvelous, shocking and surprising! This one has it all, the good girl trying to stay away from the bad sports guy.

I loved how Peyton and Erin meet, she refuses anything he has to offer. That gets Peyton attention no one refuses what a King has to offer. Erin is the one who needs to get close to Peyton for her story to get published so she can make it big, after all she promised her mother on her deathbed. It's Peyton who falls deeply for Erin, then Erin for Peyton. These two fall in love and you can feel it in the words on the pages. I was just so shocked where this book went. I thought Erin would be the good person and refuse to publish her story. I knew the minute she handed Lewis both articles he would go behind Erin's back and publish the one she didn't want published. I was just so glad when we find out Lorna is punished for her crimes. It's sad she had been doing this for so long and only gets five years!

I was so happy in the epilogue we get to see that Peyton has made it to the NFL and has won the Super Bowl. They now has a daughter and looks like Stone King has finally become the father he should have been to these four boys so many years ago. I was ecstatic to see Mindy has remained in the picture, the godmother. Mindy has a boyfriend of three years a banker on Wall Street was quite a shock. Peyton and Erin still as much in live as the first day they met.

Torrid and multiple twists
I loved the unbearable character of Peyton from the first chapter when he first met Erin. It makes your mouth water because I was wondering how the author was going to turn the situation around. The story is torrid and full of twists, with characters full of temperament, enthralling, who find themselves in situations of which they do not know how to get out of it and it is rather sometimes unexpected. Between a career and a fairly heavy past, Peyton and Erin's relationship is shaken in all directions.
Erin searches for an article to write when she meets the character of Peyton, the college football star who has a reputation for being well endowed below the belt, but who is mostly boorish, rude, and arrogant. This character shocks Erin as much as he attracts her and she decides to use him as a support for her article. Yet quickly, Peyton can not help thinking of her and will seek to conquer her.

If you like books with a lot of bedroom, halls, outdoors, etc. time, then you will love this book. Sometimes it is harder for me to read books about bad boys on campus since I am older. I must say that these college students like to have lots of fun, drink, and women. Peyton King is the king on campus and loves the attention. Erin has already graduated and works for the school paper. I had a hard time with her character after getting into the book. I thought she was really getting into Peyton. But I really wondered towards the end. I loved that Peyton was himself around Erin and was able to talk to her about things he never told anyone else. There are secrets and betrayal that come out which made me sad. I encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Erin Nash is eager for her professional life to begin going somewhere. For that to happen she has to go deep... And who better to help with that than resident campus king, Peyton King? It's not like she even likes the guy. He's too arrogant, a playboy and not all that bright, for sure. Then, she gets to know the real Peyton, and finds real gold.

I liked the banter and ribbing throughout the book. The secondary characters were awesome, too. I had a bit of an issue with Erin. It was hard for me to believe that she didn't know what would happen, in the end. I couldn't help but like Peyton. He was the typical frat boy until he found something more important than football.

I enjoyed the book. It's got lots of humor & heat, with a bit of sports. I'd definitely love more of the King family.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

I love Teagan’s sports romances, and this was no different. It was so good. Teagan has a way of just pulling you into the story and keeping you hooked. You will fell what the characters feel and there was a time when I wanted to bonk them both and their heads and ask “what are you thinking”. Peyton and Erin have two completely different backgrounds, but also have some similar tastes. Peyton is the King of Crestfall and Erin is a reporter who wants to make it big. She thinks Peyton can help with that. There are secrets, blackmail, revelations, steamy scenes and some twists. Peyton and Erin’s chemistry is off the charts hot and steamy. These two have a strong connection, but will secrets tear them apart? I can’t wait for the brother’s stories and I absolutely loved the epilogue. If you love sports romances, I recommend grabbing this one up. It is so good.

Erin, an aspiring journalist at the college and star football player, Peyton King, are going to take you through a wide variety of emotions in this addictive & compelling masterpiece.

Opposites definitely attract in this book, however, all throughout their journey, you can not help but route for them. I honestly could not put my Kindle down. Every romance reader should follow along as these two characters find their happily ever after.

I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Throw Down in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion. Teagan Kade is an impressive & impeccably talented Author.

I am impatiently awaiting the release of Titus King's installment, Game Theory.

Good story, evil protagonist

I have serious issues with the protagonist in the story, a journalist who thinks she's going to win awards by posting an expose on the sex life of a college hero jock. Instead of actually dealing with journalistic ethics, even the character'sr so-called "ethical" version would get her fired at any reputable newspaper in the US, not make her name unless she really wants to go to work for the National Enquirer. Any budding reporter who thinks the basic idea was a good one should stay far away from journalism. I couldn't finish the book because the idea presented was so ugly and unrealistic, and there's no way in hell he should ever forgive her and take her back.

Erin is an aspiring journalist, working hard to make her dreams come true. When she's given the assignment to write about jocks at school and their hard-partying lifestyle, she is given the perfect "in" when she catches the eye of the King himself: Peyton King. Peyton is one top of the world - at least the school world - star football player and, well, a player all around, renowned for his prowess on the field and in bed (or against a wall, or pretty much anywhere). When the unlikely pair find themselves catching feelings for the first time ever, things do not run smoothly. At all. But can they find better living through their sizzling chemistry?

Peyton is living the life at college - popular & can get any girl he wants. With the exception of Erin. He can’t figure out why she would turn him down. And since no one has done that before, she’s his next conquest. Erin is a journalist looking for her next big story that will help her career. Getting closer to Peyton could be her big break, but what happens when she falls for him?

This was a great read about two people who surprisingly fell for each other. Peyton is unfamiliar with his feelings towards Erin, & Erin feels guilty for writing a story about him behind his back. Overall the book was great and I’m looking forward to Peyton’s brother’s book!

Peyton, College Quarterback, And Erin, Aspiring Journalist, Unwittingly Fall For One Another As Each Selfishly Uses The Other As A Means To An End. Erin Is Peyton's Unicorn, But The Quarterback Loses His Game Over His New Obsession. Great Chemistry!

This is the first book in a series of stand-alones about the King brothers. Stone King is a major league coach and sports legend. He is the father of four college-aged sons, all talented college athletes in their respective sports. Stone has been a strict father, demanding the best in sports and good academics. He isn’t easy to get along with and is impossible to please, as evidenced by his five divorces. He never gave up on the institution of marriage, though, which keeps him much too busy to be actively involved in his sons' lives. The boys all attend Crestfall and are well known on campus for their athletics, partying, and good looks, as well as the various skills and assets that the co-eds eagerly gossip about. Their broody alpha personas are all the rage.

Peyton King is in his final year. He is the quarterback for the Crestfall Thunder. Titus and Phoenix, juniors, are fraternal twins. They have an unusual relationship, often fighting over women. Titus plays baseball and is known for his speed. The cocky jokester of the family has a sensitive side, too. Phoenix plays basketball for his dad’s sake but doesn't care for it. He has offers to play professionally, but he has put them off. Nolan, the baby of the family, is a sophomore. The introspective hockey player comes to life once he gets on the ice, but otherwise he is the quietest of the group and has a big heart. He hasn't slept his way thru Crestfall like his brothers, either. His ADHD makes him a little quirky, easily distracted.

This is Peyton’s book. The next in the series, Game Theory, is Titus's story.

Peyton King is trouble. Arrogant, narcissistic, and immature, he is known amongst co-eds as the go-to guy for a good time, and particular credit is given to his incredible asset. The star football player likes a good time, and he can get a girl with the snap of his fingers - which is perfect since he vowed to remain a bachelor, never wanting to repeat his father's mistakes. He always wakes up alone and likes it that way. Finishing his degree and signing an NFL contract are his sole focus, with some good times in between. Falling victim to the power of a woman is the last thing he wants.

Erin Janine Nash, twenty-one, doesn't come from money. With a father that deserted her in her early years and a mother who died three years ago from cancer, she is alone but never lets it hold her back from achieving her dream of a career in journalism. She promised her mother she would do whatever it takes to get her big break and intends to keep her word. She graduated early and recently landed a job at the Crestfall Crimson, which has launched several journalists into national headlines and great careers. The paper is competitive. Pleasing Lewis, her boss, can be challenging. She is currently pursuing a story about frat party culture, which takes her out of her element. She was raised with strict rules and had devoted herself to her studies in school, never venturing out. She attends a Gamma Delta Phi party in search of her story when she overhears two girls talking about Peyton King, known as King Dong. Seizing the opportunity, she introduces herself to Peyton, who promptly and rudely kicks her out after their flirting leads to a dead end.

Peyton later recognizes what a jerk he was. He simultaneously realizes that his no-strings trysts are entirely forgettable. Unable to get Erin out of his mind, he searches her out and asks for a date. One thing leads to another and the pair becomes somewhat of an item. But Peyton won't be owned by a woman. He just needs to get her out of his system and refocus. His game is suffering since he met her. His head is all messed up. At the same time, Erin’s boss wants her story to be more personal and suggests she do whatever it takes to get the inside story on Peyton. She struggles with the ethics and guilt, not to mention the personal cost to Peyton. As she gets to know Peyton, she discovers a depth that surprises her. But she also learns some secrets.

Peyton and Erin's story begins wild and fun. Peyton wants to use Erin for a good time, while Erin sees a potential story. Their chemistry is undeniable. Peyton wonders if he might be able to give up being a bachelor, while Erin feels she can find another angle to her story that doesn't involve Peyton and his wealthy family. But Peyton struggles to get his focus back and some dark secrets are revealed that test their new feelings. The couple eventually earns a lovely happy ending.

Peyton and Erin's story takes an unexpected serious turn that turns everything upside down. *Spoilers* It is difficult to read about Erin's actions and it might be hard to see the couple getting past a certain part. Mistakes are made. Yet in the end, it actually makes the story very real. Additionally, though not specifically stated, it appears that having Erin in his life triggered Peyton to lose focus, but there were other issues under the surface that needed to be dealt with.

Peyton, college quarterback, and Erin, aspiring journalist, unwittingly fall for one another as each selfishly uses the other as a means to an end. The story is nicely written. The plot is nicely developed. The characters are well-defined. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Peyton and Erin. I rate this book 4.5 stars.

Ahhh Teagan knows how I love a sports romance and a football one at that. I love that all of Peyton's brothers are into sports, which means, if Teagan is going to write a book about the whole family, then we are going to be getting a lot more sports romances...WINNING!!

What a great read. Peyton King, the college football badboy, and Erin Nash, the college paper reporter. I'll keep this review short and just say that if Erin had done to me what she did to Peyton, there would have been no forgiveness. But this is a romance so.........

I love a Teagan Kade book and can't wait for the next one.

A new book by Teagan. I read it in one sitting. It was a fun, relaxing read. This story is about Peyton and Erin. Peyton comes from a wealthy family and he’s the college star quarterback playboy. He’s not real happy when Erin turns down his advances at a party. That’s when he gets she is different, refreshingly so. Erin is well aware of Peyton’s reputation and she isn’t impressed but that doesn’t mean that he can’t help her achieve her career goals. She is determined to find out as much as she can about him, but soon comes to the realization that she has developed feelings. It all seems so simple for Erin, a journalist. Meet the man, write the story and move on to Advance her writing career, right...Wrong!!!! There is so much more to Peyton King, star quarterback , ladies man, a man you want to say “yes” too but she says “No”. Now the fun begins.
Never do two people realise what they have until it’s too late,. Is it all a game for Peyton...no, he lets his heart get involved. A story I literally couldn’t put down. Loved all the banter between him and his friends, his crazy brothers they made me laugh so much and the chemistry and passion between Peyton and Erin. Brilliantly written, loved it

Erin is a reporter who wants to make it big and thinks that a story about Peyton King can help her with her career goals.
When Peyton is rejected by Erin at a party, he makes it his mission to find her and manage to spend a night with her, but that task will not be so easy. And when they finally start spending time together, Erin realizes that Peyton isn't just a successful player, he's a person with whom she has many things in common.
Their relationship develops as she begins to question whether she really should write about him. The moments between them are really hot.
I loved the story and the ending. I highly recommend the reading.

This well written storyline will have you falling in love with the characters. Erin is a journalist and needs to get in the frat scene so she can write her article. Peyton is know for being well endowed and for playing football. Peyton meets Erin at a frat party but she leaves when he asks her to go upstairs. Will Erin write her article after she gets to know Peyton? Will Peyton approve her article? This has secrets, drama, betrayal and so much more. I liked Erin at first and could not stand Peyton. He was typical arrogant jerk, that thought he was God's gift to women. Once he started showing the real Peyton I liked him. I really enjoyed the banter and humor between the characters. I found the secondary characters great. The King brothers were a trip I can't wait for their stories. The one King that surprised me was Stone how he was there. In my opinion Throw Down is predictable, but I'm okay with that. I enjoyed Throw Down and was entertained. Erin and Peyton's story is intense.
The plot is a slow increase of a supposed fling with no strings attached, leading to a full-fledged love affair, with some unexpected twists and turns that kept me on my toes and made me read a little faster, just to find out what would happen next. It's a story about second chances in love and forgiveness with a touch of sex and crime that invites its readers to look deeper, behind the surface.

I am looking forward to the stories of the other three King Brothers!

Teagan Kade is one of my favorite authors and I love the way she tells a story. I enjoyed this book, HEA included, even though I thought it was a bit unrealistic. Peyton's bad boy is highly likable and not really so bad after all. In fact, he's kind of sweet. Erin is a little harder because even though she's falling for Peyton, she has a hidden agenda that could hurt him very badly. This steamy romance sucked me in from page one and it is a great read.

Taking A Risk On Love:
By Korkoi -
Peyton is the football jock, known for his skills on and off the football field. Erin is the reporter tasked to write a story, about the partying scene at the college. He showed her how to have fun and she helped him changed his man-whorish ways. This is a story about trust, misunderstandings, family drama and an unexpected love. The story has so many facets, that it will keep you engrossed, from the beginning until the end. You will definitely enjoy reading this book.

Soooooo good! This book was a fun read that I couldn't put down. Its about the alpha jock, head player on campus and the quiet newspaper reporter. The two couldn't be anymore different if they tried. Teagan does a fantastic job making you like Erin and Peyton and then making you want to wring their necks. As always there are juicy scenes, lots of banter and even some backstabbing. I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book and loved it soooo much I had to buy a copy too.
