Mercilessly beautiful cruel. Relentlessly sensual vicious. Utterly delicious vile.

Marrying into the famous Godalming slayer-clan was supposed to be my family’s big break. Our clan is fractured, my brother is dead, and my mother’s spirit was broken by the ordeal. I’d do anything to make her proud and see her truly smile again.

I’d even spend a year in the snobby, prestigious Libra Academy with Lord Godalming’s gorgeous son.

I don’t know what I did to earn Will Godalming’s seething hatred, but he’ll do anything to get rid of me for good, even if he sometimes seems like the only one who understands me. Sura Enver is almost irresistible with a cruel streak a mile wide, but he’s hiding dark secrets under those knockout looks. And when I put a dying vampire out of her misery, I end up at the very top of an ancient warrior’s hit list. No sane slayer angers Càel the White Wolf, the fiercest knight of the vampires’ Clouded Court.

They’re unstoppable. Wicked. Malignant. And each wants to make me suffer. Between the torment of Libra’s eat-or-be-eaten rules and the rising threat of a new vampire king, enemies prowl on all sides.
But they’re messing with the wrong slayer.

Ill Will is the first book of Victoria’s Trilogy in the Bonds of Blood universe, a steamy, medium-burn reverse harem bully romance in a college-age academy setting. This book is for mature audiences and contains triggers.

It started off strong but finished off really badly. :/

This wasn't a medium burn book as described. If, like me, you were hoping for slow relationship development whether in the form of lust or love, you won't find that here. It was disappointing to say the least especially because none of them are "fated mates" like in other paranormal RH books which usually means there is very little burn to speak of. Tori (MFC) gets off listening to Will (MMC & stepbrother) have sex with another girl and Sura (MMC & Will's best friend) get off in their respective rooms next to hers in chapter 2 and they're practically humping each other by chapter 5. I started skimming after 60%.

Tori is from a poor family whose mother married rich (Will's father). The reason she's attending the academy is because it was her dead brothers dream to graduate from there. She starts off as a strong lead but it slowly turns into her just lusting after Will and Sura with some paragraphs littered throughout describing her as a strong lead again.

The reason Will hated her was so...dumb?????? His dad got rid of everything that reminds him of his biological mother to please his stepmother and he gets mad at the stepsister? The only other person in the equation who has as little to do with the relationship as he does? Why isn't he mad at his father? He doesn't want her to attend the academy because he believes her to be unworthy. Quite frankly, he doesn't even want her to exist because his father dotes on her and not him. Classic case of daddy issues. 🙄

Okay so he's mad at her, fine, these are some of the ways she's 'bullied' to drop out of the academy:

- Drugged the first time they go out to the club, she gets fingered by Sura and kissed by Will whilst she's under the influence.

- Will pays another girl to push her into a snake pit (she didn't know he did so) & takes advantage of her vulnerability afterwards by having sex with her.

- Will/Sura film her having sex with both of them without her consent and proceed to distribute it around the students and after she finds out what they did, they forcibly drug her with an outlawed aphrodisiac to the point where she takes off her clothes and begs strangers to have sex with her. (they're filming all of this happening too) 🙂 During a school event. 🙂 Where she then gets rescued by the third man in the harem and has sex with him so the effects wear off. 🙂 She doesn't report this to the headmaster or anyone in the position to help about what she took and who gave it to her (she didn't tell the headmaster she was drugged at all - instead taking the blame herself saying she willingly got drunk on contraband alcohol) all because she wanted to deal with Will and Sura herself. 🙂 (They both regret doing it afterwards but it's still inexcusable).

Revenge porn and drugging crosses the line and falls under the category of sexual offence. Not forgivable in my eyes.

Sura is an incubus demon pretending to be a slayer at the academy. Though he had a few chapters in his POV, seemed like a secondary character. All he talked about in his POV was how badly Will and Tori lusted after each other and how much energy he would get when they had sex with each other. He seemed to mainly be a henchman of sorts for Will, following what he said to do because they were 'bonded' to each other and the bond wouldn't let him do anything less. I liked him as much as I liked Will; not much at all.

Càel was also a romantic interest but he was eh. I couldn't get close to him in this book 🤷‍♀️ I guess he'll probably be talked about in more detail in the second book.

There was also a scene of a classmate being killed by a demon, and the emotional response to that was pretty underwhelming but whatever.

Anyway, >1 star & I won't be continuing on with the series.

I was intensely uncomfortable with the final "bully" event - it wasn't bullying, it was sexual assault. Based on the other reviews, I guess most people don't see it that way - but for those who might appreciate a content warning: .

I'm not generally bothered by stories that tread the line of dub/non-con, but this one felt way out of nowhere. I usually enjoy bully romances, and I love the angst of enemies to lovers, but with the way this is set up, I can't buy into forgiving and forgetting in the name of a HEA.

I didn't hate most of the book, so 2 stars and call it done.

Bully Romance. I like them and hate them. The revenge is never as painful as the humiliation the heroine suffers, this always makes me mad. I don't want to listen to their stupid reasons for what they did and in this book Will had a stupid reason, let revenge wipe the slate clean. Pfft.

Anywho, it was alright. I've read the entire series already so I know what's up. A good series all in all.

This was an epic and mind blowing start to a new series! After her mother marries into the famous Godalming family, Victoria finds herself with high expectations from her stepfather, a stepbrother out for her blood, and in Libra Academy to fulfill her deceased brother’s wish. Her peers have been sabotaging and bullying her from her arrival, but Tori has a tough wall that seems impossible to crack. This battle between stepsister against stepbrother will leave you an emotional wreck and wanting to see how far they’ll go. I absolutely loved the world building and the realistic characters that Cate has created! Every character is strong willed in their own way, but deep down they all have a weakness and a breaking point. Tori is stubborn and snarky, Will is broody, but always watching, Sura is flirtatious and mysterious, and Cael is dangerous and possessive. Watching the relationships she develops with Will, Sura, and Cael through her POV and theirs is like no other and it’s enthralling to say the least. This book was an emotional rollercoaster between the good, the bad, and the sexy, and had you feeling every single moment while keeping you on the edge of your seat. With the way this book ended I definitely thought, “holy shit”, and I can’t wait to see what Tori has in store for the second semester!

Two of her romantic interest basically raped her.

The first one manipulates her emotionally to the point of vulnerability and have sex with her, witch is call emotional abuse and rape.

The second one is an incubus, and she didn't know what he was. She is so desperate, the sex scene with him has a very different pace, and both the guys, Will and Sura, take advantage of the situation and film. She wasn't even in speaking terms with them that morning, suddenly she is in a sex frenzy. Gang Rape!!!!!

We are in a wonderful era of awareness, where we are starting to understand all forms of abuse. Is far more easy to find a book with a MC that hunt and kill her abusers then this.

It's very scary when you think a person don't understand this level of violence, and treat as normal. At first i felt pity for this author. It is possible that if Cate Corvin ever experienced something like that, would she dismiss as a petty bully? In reality this is a jail case, that is what her heroes deserve, they are RAPERS.

The reason Will raped her twice, is because of something other person did. His dad hide his mother photo.... what? Is him a ridiculous child? Even the children i know would never be this tiny.

But than i thought maybe Corvin, have her values off, maybe she will be as violent in her Tory revenge as she was with their crime, but no. Tory beat Will grades, and it is supposed to be super cruel, and she gets closer with his dad who is a psychopath. Meaning she only gets in a even more abusive situation.

How this book got published? It dismiss sexual misconduct as bully. I also realize people really think the humiliation true bully can bring as nothing serious. When you are relentlessly targeted to
the point of depression or suicide, such is the degradation, it is not bad enough.

Corvin decided to rape her character to make more painful, recorded her gang rape and send to all social circles in this book. Tory gets slut-shamed for been raped, people calls "her little scandal" and saying is her fault. This behave is unanimous.

Even Tory don't realize she was raped, or that the drug they feed her could have lead her to more rape. Her revenge to all people involved is ridiculous. Only one girl end up dead for one very little offence, i mean it was a big offence but not enough to warrant death, and it was a girl.

Corvin hates woman, she has internalized misoginism. She kills and raped her girls and allow her boys to be rapers and forgive them, they are tiny, petty, who can become monsters for ridiculous reasons and are punished with no desert, and even redeem themselves. The heroes of her history.

I am so sorry for all of you, who read and liked, for your ignorance. I truly hope none of you are living an abuse that you does not consciously perceive. Even when you don't, your body and mind suffer, the damage is there. Be ignorant just make you unable to seek solution, it only enslaves you.

An incredible start to a series❣️❣️I loved this book so so much and I loved the fact that author didn't hold back on the bullying thing at all. It's really hard to find a good bully romance with all MC's as amazing. It was dark, and it turned angsty for me with what Tori had to suffer. Tori is such a strong, kickass character and Will and Sura are the perfect bullies. 'Get in your heart and then shred it' types which tend to hurt the most.

It has a lot of triggering content in form of extreme bullying, harassment and dub-con.
Did I mention it was angsty?? Cuz I am pretty sure I was crying at one point.

And going through everything doesn't destroy Tori or turn her into a blubbering mass of tears like I was expecting. She took it all and gave back as good. And when it went really bad? She smiled (yess she smiled ; the smile of a maniac who is going to ruin you and stomp on your dead body for good measure) I am very much claiming her as one of my book gf's cuz that was really hot.

Also, Cael *dreamy sigh*. I am usually not interested in Vampires, idk why. But this one makes me swoon. He is dangerous and he knows it. My fav kinds. I am so so happy next book will have more of him. I am claiming him too.

Here's a bit of a summary. Tori enters the Libra Academy along with her stepbrother Will, in honour of the memory of her dead brother. There she meets Sura, the Charmer.(If you have read this book, you'll know what I did there lol). Will makes him disdain for Tori clear and plans to make her year, in the academy, hell. Sura is in on the plan but he feels for Tori so he is conflicted. What will Will do? Will Sura be able to stop Will or himself from going too far? What will Tori do when she finds out what these both are planning behind her back? Will Tori even be alive till the end of first semester cuz many other factors ,namely vampires and demons, are at play?

I am really excited for the next book. I hope the revenge gets good and forgiveness is earned and not just handed freely. xx
Highly recommended

4 Watch the Grass for Snakes Stars

A promise made to her brother’s memory sent her into the snake pit they call Libra Academy. Where they train their students to reach their full slayer potential. But who knew the real lessons would be taught behind closed doors.
Blood will spill. Hearts will break. They have no idea what a giant mistake it was to mess with Tori.

All I can say is if the next book lets certain people redeem themselves I’m going to be PISSED!! I’m out for blood. No mercy!
Of course I can’t stand her narrow minded views but hey that’s what the Author wanted ... so we felt compassion for other characters.

I need book two as of yesterday! So good!

Oh my goodness! I don't even know how to process my emotions right now, Im still reeling from that ending! Cate Corvin has done it again! This book is a must read! It felt almost as if I was there, feeling all of Victoria's emotions. Her anger, sadness, lust, confusion, betrayal- it was all just too much, but in a good way! Buy the book, you will not be disappointed!

I have been following Cate Corvin's writing for awhile now and her newest series doesn't disappoint! Overall, this book was absolutely amazing. I read it in one sitting, originally only intending to start a few chapters before bed. Three hours later, the book was done and my mind was blown! I immediately began my reread if that tells you anything.

Buckle up buttercup! Victoria Holmwood, great name btw ;), is a kick ass, strong, FMC who refused to give up when she could get even instead. Cael is my favorite for so many reasons (he's mine, you can't take him away from me), Will is dark and brooding, and Sura has a mysterious, sexual vibe going on. There was only one moment towards the end where I had to skim read a little because of second-hand embarrassment.

I cannot wait for the second book in the series to come out and will be waiting semi-patiently until it does in October!

I liked Victoria's character a lot but I have never understood how the MCs always end up in these super intimate sexual situations with guys they don't really trust. These girls are super smart and confident but they give themselves up to these shady guys who never really deserve them. I know that's the whole point of the Bully RH's but it never really makes sense to me. Obviously William hates her (even though he has brief moments of decency) and Sura is suspicious (although he has always supported her but what's up with the glamor she almost sees through?). Ugh! No wonder she ends up with Cael. I hope she makes them suffer a LOT. I'm not going to be happy seeing her just put them through some mild discomfort and embarasment. I want them to come close to death.

3-3.5 stars. Well I got sucked right into this story. It is a bully but even with the events that happened I felt like the author did an awesome job of making the FMC strong enough to handle it and give as good as she got. I guess we will see how that plays out in book two lol. I feel like there is a heaping ton of underlying shadiness going on in this world that we are just scraping the top off of. Also the prejudices in this world are just.. so aggravating and at the same time you get to watch as everything upends on itself and thought processes change which is so satisfying at the same time. I'm hoping to really see some turn arounds as we progress.

FMC, Victoria is off to slayer academy in memory of her brother and his death at the hands of a demon as well as put her poor mother and her fractured mind at ease while she settles into her new marriage. Now if only she could get her asshole of a step brother to ease up.. but of course he is bound and determined to see her out of the school and out of his family for good. Evil bro's best friend though.. has some secrets of his own and feels absolutely drawn to Victoria.. but bros before hos and all that. If the school and classes weren't dangerous enough with people dying off left and right, Victoria has to not only prove her worth to the school but also deal with the fallout of the jealous/bitterness of her new "family"

I'm definitely down to see where this is headed. Especially since it seems she has found a new aly.. even if she seems reluctant to take him up on his.. offers. I feel like there is going to be some major eye opening for both her and her.. frenemies?

Victoria is a nobody at Libra Academy where she has a very tense relationship with her stepbrother Will, and a very flirty relationship with Will’s best friend Sura. She has to make it through this year at school no matter how much she is bullied and hated, she will do whatever it takes to graduate and get the Holmwood name on the wall, no matter who stands in her way!

This book was in my TBR list for longer than I care to admit, it is a bully read and since those aren't usually a favorite of mine I just couldn't decide if I wanted to go down that rabbit hole, but I was not disappointed! This book was so full of twists and turns, revenge and heat. The men in her life are ones you love to hate and love to love. You have Will the stepbrother, the tension between them is on fire. Sura, who is hot and someone you wouldn't want to bring home to the parents. Then my favorite Cael who is everything in a very large vampiric package. You can feel the tension in this book while reading and that made this book so much more than I was ever hoping for!

No more spoilers!!
Yes this book is considered a bully romance, but as someone who isn't usually a fan I was hooked from page one until the end, and I still wanted so much more. Since it is considered a bully do expect some of that from some of the men in her life and some others in the story so some may have difficulty reading this but personally I didn't think it was too much, and P.S the book has a bit of a cliffhanger and ends with you instantly downloading book 2 to see what happens next! So overall this was a great book from Cate Corvin.

This wasn’t bad but there were some super annoying things. The author had dumb nicknames. The fmc called her brother James “Jim Jam”. And I swear it’s like nails on a chalkboard. Who tf calls their brother Jim Jam over and over and over again? Ugh.

The names of people are weird but that’s a me problem. The story while I am tired of bully and academy tropes is actually interesting.

The level of bullying by the two mc’s is unforgivable. I don’t want them to be w the fmc. But apparently the grovel is good in this series. That remains to be seen.
On I go to book 2.

HOLY MOTHER OF SATAN.
This book was unbelievably fucking good.

Victoria is our main girl and after her brother James died tragically at the hand of a demon, she wants to fulfill his dream of having their family name on a plaque at Libra Academy.
Her mother remarried Lord Percival Godalming, who has an smoulderingly sexy but totally dickish son Will, who absolutely despises Tori; he blames her wholeheartedly for the fact that his father removed all traces of his late mother, leaving him with nothing to remember her presence.
This eats at him, fuelling his rage and motivation; and now that they are both attending Libra, he’s set out to get rid of her.
His grief and anger is palpable and a driving force towards her destruction.

This sets us up for an absolutely delectable bully romance.
*Squeals*
My absolute FAVE genre.
Here’s the only catch, the bullying has to make me feel sick or it’s not worth it.
And let me just say, this book hit the humiliation nail right on the head.

We soon meet Sura, Will’s best friend, who is hiding his true Incubus nature from both Will and Tori; pretending to be a slayer alongside his classmates, so that he can ultimately get close to Will.
We know he was sent to Will by Prince Sitri, the lust demon but we still aren’t exactly sure what his purpose is.
All we know is that he’s glamoured himself for years and forged a bond with Will that allows him to feel everything Will does.
Not only that, he’s drawn to Tori and she unexpectedly stirs up human emotions in him; allowing him to feel some guilt at the plan Will has concocted for her demise.

Will on the other hand, is conflicted between being incredibly attracted to Tori and hating her guts; which inevitably leads to him pretending to get close to her, just so he can sabotage her.
He gets her thrown into a snake pit, her worst fear.
Then proceeded to comfort her, which leads unexpectedly to a heated moment between them, where they end up having extremely hot sex and then brush it off like it never happened.
A girl can relate.
I wonder if Sura will ever admit that he gave them the tiny nudge of lust they needed to act on those desires…
Normally I would be upset that the sexy time was introduced that quickly but with the brutal ending, I’m confident we won’t be seeing that between Tori and Will (and Sura) for a little while.

Meanwhile, Sura is the charming one.
Slithering into her good graces and giving her cute nicknames.
He is struggling between fulfilling what he was sent here to do regarding Will and forging a true connection with Tori.
He also isn’t totally on board with Will’s plan for revenge, as his emotions for her are building.
He ends up taking her on a date but he takes her to a club filled with demons, making her question who he spends him time with.
It didn’t help that a Succubus Tori slayed knew him and begged him for mercy; this sparked some questions and assumptions in Tori’s mind, causing her to lash out at him for his sexual preferences.
She doesn’t even know the half of it.
He also won’t kiss her, always pulling away when she tries which she doesn’t miss.
There is something odd about Sura and I would love to know more of his backstory; I know it’s bound to be interesting and play a role in Will’s future.

I can’t forget to mention Cael, the sexy but terrifying vampire knight , whose sister was mercifully killed by Tori after the vampire was beaten bloody and left to die alone; she gave her the death she deserved but would not take her fangs, as the vampire tradition (and Cael) demanded.
Cael was insistent that she take the fangs and wear them around her neck to honour his fallen sister but Tori refuses to partake.
This puts her on his radar, where he claims that her life would be his to take.
Next time she shows up in the Vamp court, they have a sexually charged encounter on the roof; during which he tells Tori she is to check in at the court once a week to fulfill the oath she owes.
He realizes that she didn’t kill his sister out of malice but mercy and also, her blood sings to him; which, apparently is a big deal for vamps.
Thus, he takes a liking to our girl and becomes protective of her.

Now that the groundwork has been laid out, let’s get to the real juicy shit.
Will was softening towards our girl and with some nudging from Sura, he was ready to abandon his plot for revenge.
Until his dad showed up at the school, abusing and berating him for not being more like his “sister”; it’s clear that Percival has taken a shining to Tori and reminds Will every chance he gets.
Will let that encounter seep into his bones like poison and his anger was born anew; blazing even brighter this time.
He can’t stand to be measured up to the girl responsible for wiping away all traces of his old life and trying to use him as a “replacement brother”.
Sura comes to the conclusion that based on her Purist mentality, Tori would never accept him for who he is as a demon; ultimately, solidifying his resolve to carry out their plan to get her removed from Libra.

When Tori goes to apologize to Sura for lashing out and making assumptions about his sexual preferences, they end back in the room in very delectable position.
Will walks in on them to see Sura’s face between her legs, ready to feast; however, he doesn’t turn away, he joins them.
She proceeds to be spit-roasted by Sura and Will, to then finish Will off by riding him to ecstasy.
In the haze following this, they invite her as their date to the Samhain party held by the school and in her state of bliss, she obviously accepts.
This is when shit hits the mother fucking fan y’all.

At Samhain, a video starts to circulate and if you had one guess what you say it was of?
If you guessed it was Tori getting fucked by both Will and Sura, then you would be absolutely correct.
They release the video to the school, parents and faculty.
She is completely humiliated.
She runs into Will, Sura and their crew of fucking bitches in the bathroom; where, Will proceeds to come clean about how he sabotaged her all year.
He was responsible for the snake pit and destroying the only picture of James she had left.
To sharpen the blow, he allows the girls to beat the ever-loving fuck out of her while they watch.
She’s broken and bloody and I didn’t think it could get worse.
It does. It truly does.

Sura came through with some Incubus spit and they force it down her throat; leaving her at the mercy of the extreme wave of lust that engulfs her.
They push her into the main room, where she promptly strips of her clothing and starts to grind and moan on everyone; trying to quell her intense urge.
She crawls on the table and even asks her principle if he would fuck her…. Jesus.
When I tell you I actually screamed.
Now this is the kind of bullying I signed up for baby.
Only because I’m so eager for Tori to fucking annihilate them.
It’s only when she starts making a total fucking fool of herself that Will starts to have a change of heart.
He tries to get to her, to cover her up but she’s out the door and running as fast as she can.
She stumbles into an alley where some human man almost takes advantage of her and would have done, if Cael hadn’t shown up and put a hole through his head.

CAEL.
Her protector.
He came for her and he is fucking seething with rage that someone would do this to Tori.
He recognizes that she was given Incubus spit and takes her back to the Vamp court so that he can heal her.
Low and behold, the only way of getting rid of this drug, is to sate it’s need
i.e., it must be fucked out of her system.
He can’t stand to let someone else do it, so he proceeds to do the deed himself; which is not at all difficult considering his attraction to her.
She does sober up during sex with Cael and finds herself not wanting to let go; by finishing him in her sober state, we can practically feel the connection between them solidify.

Tori is fuelled by vengeance and rage at this point, leading her back to the school, where she proceeds to turn on the charm.
She sucks up her shame and apologizes to her headmaster and other professors; they agree that her embarrassment is punishment enough and allow her to prove her worth by staying at the school but transferring to the Lux side.
She will no longer will be in Sura and Will’s group but she will be coming for them.

We get a delicious final Sura POV, where we watch him and Will resent themselves for what they did to Tori; as they weren’t expecting things to turn out how they did.
Fucking prick idiots.
But daddy Percival shows up and makes his ire known to Will, in fact, he backhands him across the room in his rage.
He tells Will that he is aware that the video was his doing and he is beyond livid, his love for Tori shining through.
It’s during this opportune moment that Tori shows up with a smile, shocking both Will and Sura.
She makes it clear to both boys that they are in for a rude awakening by uttering one single word:“Dad”.
She has never called Percival this before but she’s playing the game now boys.
She knows exactly how to get under Will’s skin and I’m dying to watch her take him down a couple pegs; although his dad treats him like shit, it’s no excuse and he deserves whatever is coming to him.

Her arsenal of pain and rage comes to the surface and she leaves the guys with a final warning…
“Sleep tight. Watch the grass for snakes.”

They better sleep with one eye open because she’s coming back with a ruthless thirst for bloody retribution.
And she has a vicious vamp knight on her side.
You better FUCK THEM UP TORI.
Make them hurt and break their fucking hearts.
Show them exactly who they were messing with my girl.
I’m practically salivating thinking about it and I’m so ready to watch our bad bitch unleash herself.

This book took me by total surprise and swept me off my motherfucking feet.
She’s going into the favourites.

It was so hard for me to rate this book because I absolutely adore this author. Her writing and her world building are always incredibly amazing and she always comes up with some epic stories. I know I’m not the right audience for a bully romance, I always feel like the “revenge” the heroine gets never matches the humiliation and torment she receives. Not to mention the fact that I don’t personally know any self respecting woman who would choose to date someone who had done such horrendous things to them, but I picked it up and read it anyway because I just love her work and thought that maybe this is one I would like! I started off pleasantly surprised and excited! The world building was really great, I liked most of the characters and unlike a lot of heroines in bully romances, this one wasn’t an annoying as fuck doormat. Unfortunately though, she is kind of a bigot (she does educate herself and apologise later on though). It was all going well up until we reached the sexual assault. Based on the comments I’ve seen, some people don’t understand that filming someone having sex WITHOUT THERE CONSENT and then sending it around to people, is not just “a harmless prank” or “no big deal”, it is actual, bonafide, sexual assault that can get you actual prison time. It’s vile, it’s awful and there is NO WAY I would root for ANY woman to become emotionally involved with someone who SEXUALLY ASSAULTED them. If the actual sexual assault wasn’t bad enough, two of her love interests then proceed to drug her with a powerful aphrodisiac and send her off on her merry way. There are SO MANY things deeply, DEEPLY wrong with this that I won’t even bother going into it because I will be here for days but the “revenge” she gets after that is pathetic and measly and really dampened my enjoyment of what was actually a really great storyline in a very interesting world. If the pranks and humiliating events was anything other than sexual assault and drugging an unwilling woman then I actually could have given this book five stars and forgiven her for getting with her bullies. But the fact that one of her tormentors goes so far as to try to JUSTIFY his actions and brush it off as something that’s not such a big deal, really fucked up my enjoyment of this series. So, since I don’t want to give an author I love a less than stellar rating I’m just not going to rate this at all. I’m clearly not the right audience. Adore her other books though, spin the shadows is absolutely amazing and would 1000% recommend 😊

This book sucked me in so completely, I read 50% of it in 1 day. Also may help that the badass FMC is named Tori (I never come across heroines with my name)!

I really don't care for the typical bully romances, but Tori doesn't take anything lying down. She's joined a prestigious slayer academy, but has more actual slaying experience than everyone else, who look down on her. Especially her new stepbrother, Will. He's just horrible to her, yet there was still a pull between them that I could feel, too (Cate knows how to write some super-steamy scenes). You don't want to like him, but you're hoping he gets his shit together for Tori's sake. Then there's his best friend Sura, who has an instant, strong attraction with her (you'll find out why), but unfortunately he won't go against Will's wishes. The ending was completely rage-inducing, and I don't see how either guy can redeem themselves after that. Luckily for Tori, she has a devoted vampire on her side, Cael. I loved how the one she initially came to with prejudice against wound up being her support. She's not infallible, and I liked that she had to rethink her stance on Shadow Worlders. Cael is the best; I love a scary guy who's an absolute softie for his girl and ready to rip the world apart for her.

I LOVE a good revenge plot, so I am dying for Bad Blood. Can't wait for Tori & Cael to fuck shit up for those snobby bullies!

THIS IS ANOTHER GREAT START TO AN ACADEMY SERIES! Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down. It sucked me in from the first page. It has the right amount of bullying, steamy scenes and action. There is even a bit of betrayal. Oh boy does it get intense from the get go.

The main character Victoria Holmwood (Tori) is freaking amazing!! She is a kick butt and ask questions later type of chick. She is strong, determine, smart and beautiful. She has had a rough past and that is what made her who she is. Then she starts school with her step brother who happens to be one of the bullies. Then there is Sura who is freaking hot and happens to be her step brothers best friend so he bullies by extension. That is just a complicated relationship. Then you meed a sexy Viking Vampire who is captivated by Tori. Tori has ideals that she wants to stick with until something happens and all of that changes. These bullies tried to break her, but what they do not know is they just messed with the wrong chick. OH MY WORD, I CANNOT WAIT TO READ THE NEXT BOOK!!

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

AAARRRGGHHH! I'm so freaking excited for the next book! Revenge plots are my favorite so, I really hope it will be satisfying.

So far, she is drawn to three guys:
*Will - the stepbrother who hates her but can't deny the attraction
*Sura - Will's best friend who is actually an incubus pretending to be a slayer,
*Cael - a vampire knight who she thought was gonna kill her but actually found his bloodsinger in her and calls her a cute nickname

Of course right now my favorite is Cael because I hate guys who bully and betray the heroine. While Will was plotting, I was already dreading at the same time anticipating how they will break her and how she will stand back up swinging at them. We shall see how she gets her revenge on the two and how they will freaking grovel into her good graces. I love that they're tormented by what they did even without her having done anything yet. Their agony tastes so delicious. 🤌

So far, no bigger plot has been revealed yet. The book just revolved around her navigating Libra Academy's system and having conflicts with her fellow seniors. I'm still really excited to see how the story goes.

Well I just dropped a book of a series I really liked from this author, and my semester already started but you know guys how I am ...and yeah I thought was a good idea start another series from the same author hahaha Looks intriguing and my life is lacking some romance...damn me , so here I am .

Uh-oh hahaha I’m already liking the guys Will is the asshole one and I think Sura is the sex like hell one ...well damn if he isn’t my kind ...yeah I fell in love with the guy pretty quickly, what can I do ? He is the epitome of tall, dark and handsome and the cherry in the cake ? He is sarcastic too !!!

I couldn’t believe I was letting a guy tilt my chin up like I was in some sappy rom-com and we were about to make out in the rain, but here I was, in danger of one foot springing into the air.

Hahaha I’m liking Tori too , damn the girl has a sense of humor. Ok I’m really seriously intrigued with this book ...this has my total attention... if you stop to think this isn’t good for my grades but ok I can deal with it without letting them drop yeah I’m a queen in handing things under pressure , multitasking? Yeah that’s me hahaha but I’m so curious to know WTF is Sura I’m serious...the guy must be a incubi isn’t possible for a human man to have such a charismatic and sexy personality hahaha .

Whoa now I understand why Will is a asshole ...yeah he is “right” in his motives, the real asshole is his father , but that isn’t the true either ...if you really stop to think , the bad things that happened to them is no ones fault. I’m pretty excited because I’m smelling M/M action between Will and Sura ...oh goddess how I like this hahaha .

“And drink, and dance,” Sura said. “And make room, because this taxi is tight as fuck.” The huskiness of his voice when he said ‘tight as fuck’ did absolutely nothing for my nerves.  Especially when he picked me up and pulled me onto his lap, making my dress ride up even higher, and I felt the hard, thick ridge of his cock right against my mostly-naked ass. Sura stretched his legs out with a groan. “So much better.”

Oh sweet baby Antichrist....the slow burn and sexual tension in this book is KILLING me . And I just feel in love again for another guy hahaha because of this things I love Reverse Harem we don’t have to pick !! Càel is my new crush supreme hahaha all the Viking vibe ? And he is called White Wolf ? I’m already imagining him like Henry Cavril as Geralt of Rivia In The Witcher hahaha ABSOLUTELY pant dropping gorgeous.

OMG Sura’s POV is sooo cute , well at least I think he is cute hahaha . Damn I think Càel and Tori relationship will be tough, she is so ...xenophobic against vampires . Ok I’m really fu*king furious with Will , he is so childish like C’mon boy you’re supposed to be a grow man , but he still has such childish pranks , he really fuc*ed up this time . The world building is pretty good , the political way the shadowed world functions is sooo intriguing I’m LOVING this series .

You’ve earned one tattoo this year, after numerous practicals. By my final year in Libra, half my back was already covered! Your sister is head and shoulders above you. By all rights, she should’ve been made the prefect. Your lack of initiative is shameful. What would Michèle think?”

Ok ok I don’t hate Will anymore, I hate his father instead...that damn bastard !!! I HATE when parents always protect more one sibling, ok they’re aren’t real siblings...but this unfatherly way his father treat him ...got to my triggers.

“If someone has displeased you, I will disembowel them before I bleed them out,” I said, tracing the soft edge of her lower lip. “You will have the privilege of crushing their heart in your fist when I’ve hacked their ribs open for you.”

Oh sweet baby Belial !!! Càel is soooo romantic!! Ok I’m a gone for the guy I’m really fu*king in love , I like him so much that my new monster fish will have his name .

“She tugged her jacket shut, hiding the mouthwatering sight, and I held back a low growl.  Small steps. No disemboweling, no murder, no tearing off her shirt in the bar. According to the great magician Google, women in this modern age had a thing called ‘feminism’ and tearing off their clothes in public was frowned upon. What a disappointing facet of this era.”

OMG hahahaha I’m laughing so hard now hahaha the guy has a sense of humor too ? Damn me to hell he is purrrfect . Gods !! This book is perfect too !! We don’t have the always used mating call that aaaall books use seriously I’m a little sick of this , here the vamps have a thing called bloodsong that a vamp can or not fallow see ? We even have free will , nothing like the compulsion of a matting call , LOVING EVERY SECOND OF THIS BOOK .

Ok Will really got too far now ...that was so low ...really, really low , and Sura ? I’m just so disappointed with him , what they did to her ? Damn they have no respect for her ...I’m even a little astonished, now this makes sense that this is a bully romance , and I still think what they did should have no forgiveness, thank Lilith Càel came to save the day ...because a thing that no woman or man or no being deserves could have happened to her .

“When her gaze switched to me, I felt like I was being laid bare under her gaze. It was pure poison, blacker than Satan’s scowl, promising nothing but seething, inescapable hatred.  “I hope you both feel big now,” she said quietly. “I hope every second of that was worth it for you, because you’re going to be paying me back with blood and pride. It’s going to get so very ugly in here.”

DAMN !!! Now our girl is bloodthirsty for revenge !! I hope she makes them bleed really bad , and she is soooooo badass and fierce !! I’ll start the next one IMMEDIATELY hahahah fu*k me because I’ll not sleep this night , and yeah I have class in the morning... but who need sleep anyways uh ?

I went back and re-read this series and forgotten how good it was. At first I thought it would be a typical academy bully romance and it did start out that way and retain much of the elements. (Bullying of the FMC by MMCs and the mean girls) But you haven't met someone like Victoria. She's a strong character that stands up to her bullies and when two of the MMCs ultimately exact their ill conceived revenge on her, she promises they would hurt ten-fold. (The groveling & revenge does happen in the second book, so you'll have to pick it up to find out what happens. Pretty delicious)

Each of the MMCs are quite distinct and not cookie-cutter, you have:
Will (her stepbrother, who is out to get her, obviously)
Sura - Will's best friend and an incubus in disguise
Cael - a vampire that threatens to kill her after she kills his dying sister

What you'll get in this series:
-Forbidden love
-Academy trials
-Revenge
-Instalust, although a slow building harem
-Bullying, with a bit of OW drama
-FMC that is bad***
-Vampires, succubus, fae

If this one stays consistent, this trilogy has the potential of being my favourite bully romance reverse harem.

Three guys. Will, Sura and Cael. Each one different with their own issues. Multiple POVs. I like all three of them when they’re not being idiots. Not quite insta love or insta hate. Will and Vic are already step siblings, Sura and Cael have their circumstances.

Victoria is strong, confident and doesn’t back down, giving as good as she gets. The bullying itself is more down the fears and sexual humiliation route, although is pretty much just 1 out of the 3. The story isn’t dragged out in a long intro, diving straight in and not slowing down.

I’m enjoying the way this one is going and look forward to the guys dealing with what they’ve created.

Even bully romances gotta draw the line *somewhere*. Revenge porn is never ever EVER excusable, much less when the "heroes" did it on such stupid principles. He's pissed at her cause his dad is doting on her and erased his mom's existence from their home??? That's why they repeatedly drugged her and basically raped her and spread out videos of that? How do you ever come back from that, in real life? How can you ever feel safe with people who would do that to you? I usually read bully romances only when the heroine is extremely strong and the bullies have at least some strong reason for doing whatever they're doing, but this time, noooooope. Just nope.

DNF 75%- 3.5 stars —It’s got good parts. Interesting characters and interactions. Some hot scenes. Although I’m liking it- it’s missing some in depth “feels” if that makes any sense. Having just finished Havoc and Just Drop out where I’m on the edge of my seat with angst and”omg- did that just happen!?” this was a bit glossy despite my interest. I think when I start perusing other books while reading the book is a sign I’m not really invested. It’s not alone- been this way since HAVOC. :) may need to stop.
