Do or don’t, there is no try. It’s either fight or die.
The must-read next installment of the Apocalypse Trail Series.
I thought I might like these based on reviews but spoilers aside it's too hectic, too fake, to erratic for even the most literate to remain engaged in.I found her homestead stories more engaging and enjoyable to read. Stick to what you obviously know about and leave the PA to an experienced author with talent
I enjoy the women's story driving the narrative. Women remember and think multidimensional. Most are community common good thinkers, and act in Common Good ways. It takes minimal time for the author to let you know what corrective actions occurs and their results. This is a good read about good people managing their way through horribly corrupted times.
Book #2 of Nancy Broadley's post-apocalyptic Appalachian Trail, This is an non-stop, edge-of-your seat action. There is a lot of fighting and tense moments. There is a lot violent fighting, cussing. Reminds me of a K Reeves action movie. Beth, Brian, Spike and Sarah are my favorite characters.
First of all this is a book where you want to yell, scream and knock some sense into some of the characters. I keep telling Maryann to toughen up. Quit being nice to people who want to kill and rape you....but she has not once listened to my words of wisdom.
Now THAT is what makes a book into a good, no EXCELLENT read. Reader participation. When a author creates strong emotions from the reader they are doing their job. It is the step where they are not only a writer but also a storyteller.
Definitely five stars.
Parts that drove me the craziest...... Some of the characters kept mentioning the prisoners from Bobby's gang were humans. I wanted to pop them in the head with my Kindle. Finally, a voice of reason: "What a s*it show. Sick prisoners required extra guards, extra food and medicine, and extra hands to care for them. They were tying up resources that were sparse to begin with. They should ‘a just shot them all on the road and been done with it. " Another thing that made me angry. Yes, I got angry at characters in a book. Beth and others were taking care of their abusers who were addicts. Cleaning them. Feeding them. Thinking of giving them their meds for withdrawal. Why???
This new author is really coming into her own, in this 2nd book of her Apocalypse Trail series.
Well written, tight, and action packed, with only a very light touch of romance. Beth and Brian are made for each other, though they're having their own ups and downs in their new relationship.
Brian is FINALLY off to rescue Sarah. Darn you, N.A. Broadley, for keeping us in suspense from the cliff hanger in the 1st book.
Beth is still recuperating from the bullet she took in book 1, and the resulting surgery. She's a fighter, and a healer, so she"ll step up when she needs to.
Sarah is a woman after my own heart. Who needs to wait on a man to rescue her, huh? She might just do it herself!
Rescues, kidnapping, militia wars all over, traitors, gun fights, traps, and more are waiting for you in book 2. Oh! And a rooster named Peckerhead!
This one has another cliffhanger. I'm not a fan of those, BUT, if NB can get book 3 out quickly, I might forgive her, lol!
A thrilling installment in the Apocalypse Trail series! N.A. Broadley outdoes it again, with laughter, tears, and numerous gut-clenching moments. Take up residence in this great community as you join them for their trials and triumphs. Fantastic characters and a great story line that leaves you clamoring for more!
Have you ever read a book or series that you knew the next one isn't out yet so you debate whether to read it really fast so you know what is going to happen next or savior it so it lasts. Well this is one of those. Excellent story line great characters. Want the next one now please.
I can only hope for more from this author. Rather than some kind of mutant or alien species, this series focuses on the monsters within our society. The writing is fluid and well paced. The characters are interesting and well developed. There is plenty of action supported with solid attention to details. I await the next installment.
In this installment , Nancy brings to life the harsh reality that life brings. The characters development is excellent! She tells the story from the perspective that most authors in this genre miss. Excellent story line, characters and a real life possibility. Looking forward to the next book in this excellent series!
Love, friendship, mayhem, betrayal and a rooster. The story of Beth, Brian, Sarah and Spike continues can they survive the evil that they must face? A gripping tale of what comes next. A must read!!!!
Wow. The characters all coming together for the battle. Team work and of course the ones who go it alone...the hatred vs goodness.....couldnt book down until done. What a cliffhanger!! And am looking forward to the next book!!!
