"When everything you desire is strictly forbidden."
Everything about Sam’s life since the devastation of Earth and the move to a new solar system is forbidden. She’s fallen in love with her boss, the widowed young overlord and Royal Prince Shihlo of Throm, partly responsible for the annihilation of Earth and fully responsible for being the most intoxicatingly magnetic creature she has ever met, but Shihlo has disallowed his planet from relationships with other beings after his brother Wrexel’s fiasco with Amber and would certainly not cast a glance at one of his employees.
If she had good sense she would return the affections of the powerful, ethereal being who controls peace within her new solar system. The youngest “elder” to ever rule Diogel would like nothing more for her to rule at his side. He is an image of perfection, deeply in love with her and completely unsuspecting of Sam’s adventures with those forbidden to practice magic and sorcery.
Her days are filled with adventure and her nights are filled with longing, but Sam has little time to dwell on her unrequited desires because her secret magical companions reveal she has a role in something far greater than anything she has ever dreamed about.
The return of the Grand Wraith. Father of all prohibited magic and the most feared creature of all time.
(Book Two can be read as a stand alone from Book One)
I have to say the pairing of Sam and Shihlo was not my favorite. But it goes with theme of troubles when a love is forbidden. Sam was endearing and had to many wanted and unwanted kisses. I kept skipping the parts with Shihlo. Travis was truly a good. Villain. The brothers banter and pranks kept you interested. Favorite was Sach.
Another awesome story in this series‼️ Don't want to give away spoliers- but wanted to note, the characters, James & Travis, their treatment or rather mistreatment of Amber and Samantha hit a nerve; it's painfully familiar of the family I grew up with, and no longer associate with. Anyone who's experienced this can relate.... Anyway - I'm hooked on this amazing story and now ready to read the third book 😁
To try and remember the timeline from the first because if the gap between reading but once I remembered parts filtered back in. Its odd it runs simultaneously with the first just a separate set of peoples events. I rather liked it. The push and pull was .... Annoying yet cute. The twists and developments had my jaw dropping .
I really enjoy this series. The characters are well thought out and written. The storyline moves at a good pace. I can't wait to start book three, but I hate to see it all come to an end. I suggest you read the books in the order they are written. Enjoy .
This second book in the Adrsta Chronicles did not disappoint. Once again I was caught up in the story and found it very hard to put down. I look forward to losing myself among the pages as the journey continues in books 3 and 4.
I really love the Adrsta Chronicles and once I start reading I cannot put them down.
I bought Book 2 "Forbidden" as soon as I finished book 1 as I could not wait to see what happened to Sam and Amber. They certainly have complicated lives.
The characterisations of the different nationalities is fascinating and well drawn.
One of the people writing a criticism said "Amnesia"was too long. Please do not take any notice as I was sorry when it finished. I am glad these books did not stay hidden!
I hope it will not be too long before the series continues as I was sorry when I came to the end of "Forbidden".
This is a review of the writing, not a rehash of the publishers blurb. I honestly think this could have been a novella if you take out all the repetition and actually weed out all the “almost” having sex scenes. And really, writing in the female being so young and the male lead supposedly older and wiser? She was seriously written as a stupid, young, almost virgin who is somehow smart enough to be a rescuer? Not believable....... The male lead just was flat...... Not interested in going further with this series.
A little bit sci fi, a little bit fantasy with space ships and magic side by side. The characters are interesting and multi-faceted. Lots of action and adventure. If you like your space opera with some romance this story is for you.
Somehow I didn't think no would like this book because in had hoped it continued with Ambers story. But getting closer to same and the other brothers we didn't touch on in book one was a great idea. I can't wait to see where book 3 takes me.
3.5⭐️ Really enjoyed this series. Book 1 is by far my favourite in the series!!!! The others are good too & the continuation of the story - regardless of the different focus of the MCs - is worth reading the whole series...can’t wait for final book!
