Can a relationship that never got a fair start be revived by love?

ALYSSA

I knew not to date a musician. Hell, I am one. Our lifestyles don’t translate into healthy relationships—unless you’re Skylar, my pop star bestie, and her boyfriend, Savage, a rock legend, and you tour together.

Living out of a suitcase the better part of every year sucks if you’re looking to find love, and I knew this when Dylan Castle, the drummer of Savage Saban’s legendary rock band, The Savages, showed up on our tour ten months ago.

Our chemistry had been off the charts, and he took me on an epic first date, romanced me for a few weeks…

Then he ghosted me.

It’s not the first time that’s happened, given my demanding career, but why did this time hurt so bad?

DYLAN

Reuniting with my long lost band mate, Savage, has been the highlight of my year. The band and I thought he might be up for us getting back together since he was now touring again with Skylar.

We were wrong.

The Savages would not be revived with Savage as its front man. While not getting the band back together has been a bummer, meeting Skylar’s best friend, Alyssa, gave me hope that she and I might make some beautiful music together.

Fate had other plans.

Alyssa was the first woman I’ve ever had any desire or inclination to date seriously. A call from my physician with the results of a routine physical made me rethink that idea.

Now Savage and Skylar wants us all to fly out to a resort in the Maldives for two weeks prior to their wedding. How can I see Alyssa again without reviving feelings for her? I’ve tried for almost a year to bury every memory of those two blissful months we spent together—that is, until my medical condition improved.

Will I be able to convince her the feelings we shared a year ago were real enough to resume building a relationship together, or will she ghost me now?

Revival is book 3 of The Rock Legends Series and can be read as a stand-alone novel with plenty of heat, rock star romance and a HEA.

Growing up, L.V. Lewis wanted to be an internationally known rock star, but unfortunately, lived in the wrong part of the country to pursue that career (and neither American Idol nor The Voice were available then). An early love for the written word gave her the plan B she sought. Now she pens romance novels that let her live vicariously through rock stars and other fascinating archetypes.

We met Dylan and Alyssa in the first two books of this series. After spending a couple of months together, Dylan ghosted Alyssa, who is understandably hurt and not looking forward to being thrown together with him during their best friends' destination wedding and the festivities leading up to it. Dylan, who has gone through a traumatic time, wants Alyssa back more than anything but refuses to tell her the truth about his absence until after he wins her back.

Dylan's story is a moving one and his decision to withhold the true story from Alyssa doesn't make for an easy path but I couldn't help rooting for these characters because they belonged together. I am not sure if there will be another book in this series but I am looking forward to reading more by this author. 4.5 stars.

Dylan And Alyssa's Delightful Yet Frustrating Story Is Touching!

This is the third book in The Rock Star Legends Series. The first two books follow Brody Kent and Skylar Samuelson. This book follows their best friends, Dylan Castle and Alyssa Lawrence. While not necessary to have first read the first two books, it is recommended because the stories overlap a little and Brody and Sky continue to play a large role in this story, too.

Alyssa Lawrence, twenty-three, has been riding her best friend Sky's coat tails. They starred on a popular television show as kids, then they both moved on to singing careers. When Skylar's career took off, she kept Alyssa nearby by having her open for her on tour. It was on the last tour that Sky fell madly in love with Brody, former lead singer for The Savages. And although it was mostly on the down-low, Alyssa had hit it off with Brody's former bandmate and drummer, Dylan Castle. The problem: just when she thought she might be close to believing she was falling in love, Dylan ghosted her. It has been nearly one year since he disappeared from her life, yet she still hasn't been able to move on.

Dylan Castle, about thirty, left the public eye about a year ago shortly after attempting to reunite his old band, legendary The Savages. He rarely answers to his former bandmates' calls, and he stopped responding to Alyssa altogether. Unbeknownst to all but his family, he has been recovering from NHL, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The diagnosis shocked him, and it sounded like a death sentence. When he came to terms with it, he decided he didn't want his friends to see him at his lowest - especially not Alyssa. As much as he thought she could be the one, they had only dated two months and he didn't want her feelings for him to be confused with pity.

Dylan is now in remission, and Brody has asked him to be his best man. Dylan accepts, comfortable that he will be healthy enough once the date arrives. But with Alyssa as the maid of honor, he needs to implement his plan to win her back.

Dylan and Alyssa capture your heartstrings in their touching story. Alyssa's prickly behavior is the perfect complement to Dylan's chill demeanor. They both have lessons to learn, and they both stubbornly hold on to their opinions. Alyysa was let down by her troubled father, and suffers from issues of trust as a result. Dylan reacts out of fear and isolates himself rather than accepting help. Although they both draw out the drama much more than necessary, it is easy to fall in love with the couple. They deserve their HEA!

There are a few issue that may be problematic for some readers. First, there are some proofing and editing errors. Second, the story sometimes feels disjointed. Occasionally a name is wrong or a passage feels as if it were written later and added after the fact. Timelines don't appear to match up within the book and from book to book. For detail-oriented readers, trying to piece it together is frustrating. Finally, some of the couple's separation feels overly dramatized and begins to drag.

Dylan and Alyssa's delightful yet frustrating story is touching. The POV alternates between Alyssa and Dylan. The plot is fairly straight forward, but cutting the length would have allowed some of the unnecesay drama to be eliminated. The characters are well-developed, which helps to compensate for the shortcomings of the story. A possible new couple's story is introduced - bandmate Finn and groupie Dani. Dani is demanding, manipulative, and occasionally insecurere. Hopefully Finn gets smart and dumps her! I rate this book four stars.

This is book 3 to The Rock Legend Series and this is Dylan’s and Alyssa’s story. Dylan was the drummer of the Savages he met Skylar and they were seeing each other but they kept it quiet and they were falling for each other but after two months Dylan disappears without telling anyone including Skylar and it’s not until a year later that Skylar meets up with Dylan at their friends wedding. Will Dylan explained why he disappeared and will Skylar give him another chance?. Wow this story was very emotional I bawled my eyes out and I won’t forget it in a long time but I believed that Dylan could of handled it differently but if he did I guess there would be no story. This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Alyssa and Dylan are about a relationship that started and stopped abruptly with no explanation that left Alyssa shell shocked. Months have passed and Dylan has resurfaced and the attraction is still there. Dylan wants Alyssa back but Alyssa is not going to give Dylan the chance to break her heart again and run the risk of being dumped again by Dylan. Will the up coming wedding of their joint friends be their second chance or will secrets yet to be shared put a real and final end to this relationship?

This is book 3 in the series, it can be read as a standalone...I was glad that I'd read Savage & Redemption as if felt like reconnecting with family & friends. Flawlessly written, edgy, funny, sexy as sin & once again, I became emotionally invested in the characters. Bonus for me is I LOVE rock n roll but it's not a prerequisite to enjoy the story. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.

This was another great read in this series. It's a stand alone but I would recommend to read previous books in the series as well, just to get the feel of the story. This is about Alyssa and Dylan. This is a perfect rock star romance.
