For thousands albeit tens of thousands of years, the natives of this northern forbidden land of ice and snow and bitter cold have chosen to pack up their belongings and trek southward. They go, seeking a warmer more hospitable climate, away from the dark, cold days of winter. They migrate to a land of blue skies and eternal sunshine.Some snowbird trekkers have a preplanned agenda and return year after year to the same retirement villages. Others book into rental properties on a per year basis.These more adventurous birds create their own agendas and choose to explore the natural beauty of the southwest; the Colorado River valleys and the deserts and mountains at their own discretion. ROBB FELDER is a Vietnam Veteran. He attended the University of Alaska and the University of Minnesota. He grew up in the brewery and on the farm talked about in the story. Robb is retired from a successful career as a computer applications software designer. He and his wife Barbara live in a suburb of the Twin Cities of Minnesota.
