Movies make it look easy. Light-hearted rom coms where best friends fall into relationship bliss with very few complications along the way. This is a lie. It isn’t easy. Not even a little. Especially when you’ve watched that friend get their heart broken repeatedly. When their walls are so high they block out the sun. Certainly not when that friend is the most important person in the world to you. When you’ve failed at love too many times to risk it. When hearts are on the line that raises the stakes. Feelings are hurt. Mistakes are made. And a perfectly constructed friendship may crumble under the pressure.
RJ and Tess showed out in this friends to lovers story. Whew. Everyone could see that these two were meant to be but they were so stubborn. I loved their friendship so I could understand the resistance but the love between these two was so evident. So good!
The series is heating up with each new story. Harmony Heights feels like a hip place to call home. The Young folks who live there add spice to the mix. This story was about Tessa finding and accepting love after the man she'd loved for a few years was a lie. Once she was faced with the truth, there was not denying his level of deception. Then there was RJ, the leading man in the story, who was dealing with the mother of his previous little Charlie, except, the mom would not cooperate. Tessah's best friend. Then as lines blurr because of the magnetism between them, things heat up, hearts open, and then hubba, hubba hotness spills over the pair...Ivy and her man make an appearance to remind us love is possible for everyone. RJ and Tessah had a connection, even when neither acknowledged it in the past. Thankfully, they gave in to their desires. Charlie will be better for having Tessah in her life. Another excellently told love story...
I have been waiting for RJ & Tessa's story since the first Harmony Heights book, and it was so worth the wait!!! It was a lot packed in this one book. I could not have guessed when the book first began that it would take so many twists and turns. And while RJ & Tessa being together seemed inevitable, it was not an easy road. They definitely showed that even with a strong friendship foundation, if you don't face your issues and get healed, your relationship won't be able to stand. Now those other two characters causing drama, whew chile, I was not expecting that! But I'm glad RJ & Tessa finally got it together. And I just loved Charlie! Great job, Ms. Burton!
This book has it all. It has humor, romance, mystery, intrigue, heat and so many other things to tempt the senses.
Tessa and Raphael are so good together. Their history of friendship is being tested and strained as opportunities present themselves to take it to a different level.
The drama they have to wade through is fantastic, it is so toe tapping nail biting good! The supporting cast is back but they are seamlessly woven in.
I have been waiting to read this book and it was worth the wait. Tess and Raphael (RJ) had been friends since they were adolescents and always supported each other. Tess was always there for RJ's daughter. Once their relationship transitioned to the next level, their relationship became more complicated. They eventually resolved their issues after much needed intervention, twists and turns. A must read!! Bravo Ms. Burton!!
I have been waiting on this story since book one and I was not disappointed! Tessa and RJ’s friends-to-lovers story was well worth the wait! I really enjoyed seeing Tessa’s growth in their relationship. They were meant to do life together!
I saw this story coming since book 1 in the series. RJ and Tessa was inevitable and their story was incredible. They already had a lifetime of love and friendship but was too scared to move forward. I understand Texas's fear she had a lot of baggage to unpack in order to open up to RJ I understood her reluctance even if it hurt RJ. She needed the space to heal. I can't wait to open up the last book in this series. This author is taking a hold of me with this series I am in love
This is by far the best book yet in the “Harmony Heights” series! RJ and Tessa had more drama going on than any three soap operas! Raised in foster care, the two had been best friends, practically rearing RJ’s daughter Charlie (the result of a teenaged pregnancy) together. Tessa was engaged but had a history of having a lousy track record in the love department. After a bad breakup with her fiancé and a drunken night, Tessa found herself waking up in RJ’s arms! Let the soap opera begin!
I absolutely loved this love story. It's my favorite of the Harmony Heights books so far. Tessa and RJ's story was just wonderful. It had some of everything in it. I laughed a lot, and even got choked up a few times. There was lots to unpack in this story. Tess and RJ were two people who truly earned their HEA. I was happy to be there for it. I highly recommend this book.
I would love to give this a five star rating, but too many grammatical and spelling errors. These errors make reading difficult as often the words don’t match the scene and the reader has to go back to reread the sentence. Enough of that. I’m glad Tess got it together. The author shows it is ok to get behavioral health help. Some burdens are too heavy to carry alone. It was also nice to see RJ, while in love, man up and let her pursue a bit. Enjoyable read.
Was it just me🤔💭? Although Tessa & RJ’s progressed to an inevitably yours HEA, myself nor other characters of this series (IE: Ivy or Regan) didn’t know about these two secret infatuation for each other. Nevertheless, “If You Want Me (Harmony Heights - Book 3)” was a good read similar to the other two installments. However, I’m curious how & why Nanni G got a home full of discarded children/teens?
I had figured it out in Book 2 that RJ was holding out for a special lady, just didn’t know how close she already was! I’m truly enjoying my time in Harmony Heights. Really wanted to handcuff Tessa and RJ together until no one could runaway! Maxine & Corey should have found each other and leave other folks alone. Womerfull series!
Whew Harmony Heights was center stage for some serious drama centered around Raphael and Tessa. They loved each other but didn't want to lose their friendship if they gave into their feelings---enter the crazies.
I loved RJ and Tess’s story. They had their ups and downs but finally found their way back. Creeps and all-Corey and Maxine they were there for each other. Charlie was the best. Self love is real and without it there is nothing. Guess we have one more sister.
Great story of from friends finding love. A lot of drama, craziness and confusion but Raphel and Tessa made it to each other. Charlie was smart and insightful .
OMG I love friends to lovers story and Tessa and Rapheal's story was that and so much more. These two went through major obstacles to reach their HEA. I am totally loving this series.
I love this story because it holds a fundamental truth that a lot of marriages don’t have and that’s the realization that your significant other should probably be your best friend. And blood doesn’t necessarily dictate whether you’re family or not
I love her books but finding she doesn't have much faith in mothers. Sad. But I love these books cant wait to read #4. The romance is so heart felt. I love how these Black love and appreciate their wonen. Good read. Definitely page turners.
Ooooh I just love this story line. How Tessa and RJ been each other’s back bone for years putting their feelings to the side because of fear. Glad Tessa got the therapy she needed to accept the love RJ had for her. Now it’s one big happy family
Tessa and Raphael with little Charlie I just love their story. Having grown up in foster care in same house they were best friends who became lovers. Tessa because of everything that she went through try to deny it what she was feeling for Raphael. As always this was a well-written book with a wonderful flow and great supportive characters. I absolutely love Harmony Heights wonderful once again it was my pleasure the read this book. I'm anxious for Harmony Heights book 4.
With each story, you become more and more invested, feeling more and more a part of each sister's journey. Tessa and RJ thought they were fooling everyone suppressing their feeling when they were only fooling themselves. There was nothing not to love about this story. And the Charlie Rose....that kid was a trip! All you can think about this story is how inevitable their love truly was.....love rules❤
Mane listen I wanted to fight Tessa lol she was taking my boo RJ through it lol and I was dragging her for it. She was so broken smh she couldn't see what was in front of her and she had to do some soul searching along the way. And that crazy one listen I knocked her between the washer and dryer several times.
I love this series, this book threw in some excitement. But I was so over Tess, not my fav sister. I love the family in this series, it shows everone has flaws and that it is ok. In the end, family is what counts.
Love and suspense! What a combination. Great storyline and characters development. It was so important to understand the characters past and how it played into their situation. Great afternoon read.
It’s about time they got their act gather, both RJ and Tessa fell for two loony’s Maxine took the cake, for been crazy. Love the couple’s and Charlie, Dahlia pregnant yay, so happy for her👏🏾👏🏾
Wow, Tessa’s bipolar butt worked my last nerve. She was a hot mess. I don’t know how Rj hung in there with her. So far in the series, this is my least favorite.
