About the author

Wendy was raised in a small, resort town in Northern WI. Her parents owned and entertained a summer resort for over twenty years. It was there she learned to fish, appreciate wildlife, and forge friendships over the years with people that would often come and stay year after year. This upbringing was the inspiration for her debut novel, 'A Grey Resort' which was launched July 29th, 2019 to critical acclaim.

Wendy has a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Grand Valley State University.

American Fiction Awards 2020 - 'A Grey Resort' awarded 'Winner' in Romance: Paranormal category.

Wendy has two sets of twins, and when not running around playing taxi to teenagers, likes to spend time writing and working on graphics for her social media pages. Her second book is due to be released in the Spring 2021.

The plot was great, but there were a lot of grammatical errors that almost stopped me from reading it entirely. Typically I can ignore that, but there were errors on almost every page. If this is something that irks you a lot, I don't recommend this book for you.

Thank you for a wonderful literary escape! Mrs. Kok has filled the pages illustrating the majestic and wild beauty of Northern Wisconsin. Her descriptions of resort living in a fisherman's small town harken back to simpler times and honest work. Yet, don't let this calm and serene tale catch you with your guard down. All seems pretty normal, until some strange things begin to happen. Highly recommended!

This book was exciting to read from the very start! The characters are very compelling and the storyline drew me in immediately. The author was so descriptive of the scenes, that I could actually picture myself being there. This is a great book from start to finish and I can’t wait to read more from Wendy M Kok.

Today, on "Y’all Have Got To Read This," I have a cool read for those who enjoy science fiction or fantasy. “The Grey Resort” by Wendy M. Kok is a super clean (zero spice - no chile pepper) read that tells the story of Brooke Larken. Set in 1984, Brooke is living in Wisconsin with her parents at a resort on one of the gorgeous lakes. One day while out fishing, she sees something
that will change her life forever. If you have ever wondered if aliens or other worldly creatures lived among us, this is a great read for you. The winner of the American Fiction Award, this is a well written book that will have you looking for signs of extracurricular life all around you. While it is listed as an adult novel, it works well as Young Adult fiction as well. I gave it four stars.

One of the best books I've read in a very long time. Wendy has written a chilling tale that grips you from the first page and pulls you along on a rip roaring journey. It won't let yo go.

I read this book in one sitting - couldn't put it down. Despite one or two issues, I have to give this book 10/10. It's quite simply that good.

This book should be on everybody's shelves. It's the perfect addition to a bookshelf.

This book is my current Book of the Month.

Can't wait for the next book in the series. Wendy is a hugely gifted writer.

Excellent book from start to back. Since this book has a touch of the paranormal in it, I couldn’t wait to get Wendy M. Kok on my podcast, Ghosts In The Valley. What an awesome person, author and guest she was. I highly recommend this book for yourself and that paranormal lover you may know. Also a touch of romance and drama sprinkled in. 100% a 5 star rating

The first book in the series. And I'm in love. Learning about the main girl Brooke. The little town that she is growing up in and how things are changing. Why she doesn't know. Until one day this guy saves her. Strange things are starting to happen and she has no idea what to do. This guy comes out of the shadows to save her and help her understand all the while seeming to make things worse. But helping her is also helping him. And even though helping her might be putting his people in danger it might matter as these strange creatures seem to be taking over anyways.

This was a page turner, I couldn't put it down. You have to read this series.
