Who is Samantha Brooks without her violin? Fear lives in the silent spaces. Love does, too. There’s a battle being waged in her heart, and Liam North is determined to win. He’ll use every weapon in his arsenal. His body. His heart. Except the spotlight puts her in the crosshairs of dangerous men.

Samantha fights to compose her own ending, even as the final notes rise to a heartbreaking crescendo.

SONATA is the third and final book in the explosive trilogy with Samantha Brooks and Liam North. It should be read after OVERTURE and CONCERTO.

✨ DREAMY’S REVIEW ✨

The final installment in the North Security Series, Sonata is finally here! I’ve been eagerly anticipating this book because with how we were left in book two, I needed more of Samantha and Liam in my life!

“She’s a beauty in a world of violence. Without music, there’s no point in fighting a war.”

Skye Warren truly didn’t disappoint when it came to this epic and stunning conclusion to this forbidden, age gap romance! She nailed it and I’m telling you, Liam North is every bit of swoon worthy!

Full of passion, desire, suspense, twists and turns, I could not get enough of Sonata! I loved exactly how everything came together for both Samantha and Liam! Warren kept me at the edge of my seat as I turned the pages, eager for the next!

The balance of angst, steam, drama, and suspense is utter perfection! I love a man with a not-so-easy past and the girl who seemingly has it all. I loved how these two came to terms with their past, with themselves, and how they finally come together.

From the moment I picked up Overture, I knew I’d fall so in love with this series, these characters, and everything about this world! Skye Warren writes such beautifully flawed characters with an intriguing plot on their way to a HEA.

I love how we’re getting Josh and Bethany’s story! I cannot wait to see what holds for them!

A beautifully written, breathtaking conclusion to an evocative trilogy.
Where Concerto left us on a somewhat hopeful cliffhanger, Sonata opened up straight into angst; simmering resentment, too many unspoken words and accusations, but always the underlying, undeniable love and lust between these two stubborn characters.
As more secrets and truths are revealed, we dive yet another layer deeper into what makes Liam and Samantha tick. United in their childhood losses, but divided by their unwavering loyalty to each other, much of this book will make you question whether two such people will ever be able to overcome their own individual pasts, let alone untangle the web of what originally brought them together enough to create an updated narrative.
Sonata features all the poignancy of Skye’s everlasting storytelling. The emotion is as rich as the music it portrays, and the ending is worth the rollercoaster to reach it.

Sonata is a suspenseful and sexy conclusion to Samantha and Liam's incredible story. Skye Warren nailed this taboo love story, creating a beautiful connection between two unique characters. This final installment was fast paced and intense, and full of the heart-wrenching emotion that this author does so well.

"He is the physical manifestation of power. He's the bow against the strings; I'm the music he makes."

With the danger still stalking them at every turn, the tension between Liam and Samantha was at an all time high and I loved every bit of it. The two of them had to come to terms with themselves, each other, and the strain of their pasts in order to find happiness together. Their chemistry is so well written, and their bond is one that cannot be severed. The scenes where they were almost but not quite intimate were so delicious and so well executed.

"My little prodigy. Mine."

I loved the way things came together for Liam and Samantha. The suspense-filled action that took place at the end was so well done. The balance of angst and suspense was perfect. There were some great secondary characters throughout this series and they all added something unique to the story. I loved the inclusion of the other POVs, and am so thrilled that Josh and Bethany will be getting a story of their own. I think that theirs will be a fantastic one. While I was sad to see Liam and Samantha's story come to an end, I am hoping there is much more coming from the North Security family. Five huge stars for this amazing series.

Sonata, the emotional and dramatic third and final installment of the North Security trilogy by Skye Warren. If you have not started this hauntingly beautiful trilogy, what are you waiting for?! Now that the series is complete it’s the perfect time to grab Overture! If you have not read the first two books in the trilogy, Overture & Concerto, then proceed with caution while reading this review, there may be spoilers for the first two books.

FINALLY the dramatic, suspenseful conclusion of this taboo, forbidden romance between Liam North and Samantha Brooks. We have all been waiting for it, and trust me, it was worth the wait!
“Only when I see her can I breathe again.”
After Samantha’s own father attempts to kill her and Liam takes the bullet to save her life the two are forced into hiding, far away from the spotlight that Samantha was under during the tour.

The violin has always been a part of Samantha, as vital to her as her own arm. But to protect herself and Liam she chooses to send it away while they were in hiding. Now, after everything that’s happened the very thought of playing makes her cringe.
“She’s beauty in a world of violence. Without music, there’s no point fighting a war.”
But the only way to end this once and for all and to bring the people that are hunting her out is for Samantha to take the stage once again.

But what will happen when they decide it’s time to face the music?

You’ll have to read Sonata to find out!
“The villain doesn’t get to keep the princess.”
She has done it again. Skye Warren just has a way with words that pulls you in and holds on until the very last page. Her stories are well written and the flow, there’s no other way to describe it then absolutely beautiful.

The North Security Trilogy will go down as one of my all-time favorite trilogies. The storyline is so suspenseful that it’s addicting. There are secrets and twists around every corner. The secondary characters are just as developed as the main characters, I loved how throughout the story a bit of Josh and Bethany’s POV’s were added in, made me a lot more intrigued and excited for their story as well in the next release, Audition.
“I’m tired of being your punishment, Liam North. Make me something else. Show me what it would be like if you took what you wanted, no guilt, no regrets.”
Samantha, we have watched her grow from a young girl at the beginning of the trilogy in Overture, into a strong and independent mature woman in Sonata. But as she’s matured so has the love that she has for Liam. Now that they have finally crossed those boundaries, Samantha wants more. If only Liam could get over his guilt and stop all the back and forth, the two could be something wonderful. As frustrated as she is with him at times, she’s determined to prove to him that the past will not repeat it’s self and not everyone leaves.
“Love isn’t a weakness, Liam. Look at me. I’m strong because of you. And I can protect you, too.”
Liam, swoooonnnn! 😍😍😍 Even though there were quite a few times that I wanted to shake him and tell him to just LET IT GO, I could still understand where he was coming from. His horrific past plays a huge part in the decisions that he makes and the way he tries to shelter Samantha from all of the evil in the world. I can only imagine how hard it is to separate the feelings he has for the woman he’s fallen in love with before him today and the little girl that he adopted from that orphanage all those years ago. The guilt and the regrets are eating him alive and although he wants more for Samantha, he also knows that there is no one that will love and protect her more then he will.
“I’m fighting a formless enemy-the past.”
The passion between these two is something else. As much as Liam tries to fight it, the love and pull between them is just too strong. And let me tell you Liam is as sexy as it gets in the bedroom, he is pure alpha and when he finally stops holding back… 🔥🔥🔥
“Neither of us knows where to put these feelings. She’s the obedient one, the good girl. I’m the one full of restraint and ignoble desires.”
That ending… *sigh* it was EVERYTHING I had hoped for Samantha and Liam. BUT I must admit that I was a little disappointed as well. There were still questions left unanswered and I feel like the mystery was not completely solved.

I have to mention again about the music trivia at the beginning of each chapter, those little fun facts and thoughts were an amazing addition to the story and showed just how much research Warren did for this series.

Now, come on October I am more than ready for the snarky Josh North and the sexy dancer, Bethany, to get their own story in Audition!

If you are looking for a passionate, suspenseful, unpredictable romance between a younger woman and an older man, the North Security Trilogy is for you! I highly recommend.

I was waiting with breathless anticipation for the ending of Samantha and Liam's epic saga. And Skye Warren exceeded all my expectations in Sonata by miles. This story was explosive and soul deep chemistry wrapped in heartbreak, angst and mystery. The lyrical writing of Skye Warren wrecked my heart and filled it with ecstasy at the same time.

Samantha Brooks is running. From the dangerous past. From the nightmare of her last grand concert. She is also running towards hope of a bright future free from death threats and full of true love. I am honestly amazed by this girl, scratch that, woman. She evolved like a butterfly and now she has wings. She is no longer the timid, shy and protected violin prodigy only. I am awed by her fearless capacity to love Liam. I was stunned by her bold decisions and declaration. And this fierce yet soft , compassionate and vulnerable woman will forever be one of my most favorite Skye Warren lead. Her traumatic past has made her strong and determined. I admire her pain, her passion for music and her heart. She faces her fears finally and she is ready to go to any length for Liam.

What can I say about Liam North? I could only fall in love harder and deeper with him in this story. Skye Warren did not hold back with his demons and darkness at all. This gorgeous, broken and scarred man hides layers and layers of complex emotions behind his calm and confident exterior. Guilt. Shame. Regrets. Helplessness. The sinful and forbidden desires burning in his veins. Inability to feel love yet feeling that very emotion in his bones for Samantha. The glimpses of the savage beast he keeps under control. I am utterly, completely and absolutely enthralled by this man.

This story is hide and seek to the extreme. The adrenaline rush came from the mysterious nail biting story line. The cat and mouse chase between Liam and Samantha's enemies. The slow burn and I-am-dying-a-thousand-deaths kind of romance. The electrifying chemistry was burning my kindle. And it was so much more than sultry, taboo and filthy sex. It was an irrevocable, magnetic, irresistible and intense connection between two souls. They needed it like air or water. And I could feel the powerful effect too. The ending was everything. It caused fireworks in my heart. I was nothing but an emotional chaos.

Sonata is one of the most sensational and incredible story Skye Warren has ever written. It was a feast of mindblowing emotions. The intoxicating seduction games entwined with all consuming love. I am mesmerized. I am bewitched. I was transported to a different universe of pleasure and pain.

I can’t remember the last instalment of a trilogy making me feel so anxious in a long while. But that’s Warren for you; she a master at winding her readers up in the best possible way. She got me ridiculously hooked from the very first line in Overture and wasn’t going to let me off it until the last page was turned in Sonata. What a read and what a send-off, ladies! Fast-paced, intriguing characters and a storyline like no other kept me guessing what the next pivotal moment would be. In every book the author sowed seeds of doubt and I blinking well loved it. And the narrative isn’t just compelling, it’s mind-blowing.

‘Only when I see her can I breathe again.’

When Samantha Brookes was able to take control of her life and prove she was capable of living without the security Liam North had given her since childhood, she flew the nest. No longer her legal guardian, Liam’s feelings for his ward cause unrest. He’d watched her grow into a beautiful young woman but deep down, Samantha's heart is tied to his like the strings on the violin she plays are tied to its wooden bridge. After a close call, there's no option but to learn what the true definition of sacrifice really means.

‘I’ve always been at the mercy of men.’

Liam put his life on the line for Samantha and would do it again if necessary. Nothing will stop him from keeping her safe. His sole objective is getting to the bottom of it all which I might add, had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Clues there are. Help and unquestionable loyalty from the team—his brothers, he has. It’s just putting the pieces together. Liam. Goodness me, I thought I’d fallen for him in the previous books. Nope, now he owns my heart lock, stock and barrel.

‘I’m fighting a formless enemy—the past.’

I felt strongly about Liam not being happy with Samantha. I thought his attitude unfair, seeing that the choice was hers to make and I, personally, would have done exactly the same. I'm convinced it upset him more because he had no say in the matter. One of Warren's writing talents is how she conveys her characters' emotional swings that the reader can easily discern.

‘She’s beauty in a world of violence. Without music, there’s no point fighting a war.’

Another thing I really liked after what had happened was their lives took a one hundred and eighty-degree turn. Liam gradually opens up to Samantha. She's a good listener, knows when to hold her tongue and so very perceptive. Get your tissues ready here gals, it is heartbreaking.

She’d stopped practising her instrument daily for a comprehensible reason until, of course, something convinces her otherwise. Yeap, the Samantha I knew before the tragedy has now come into her own, is stronger and ready to face the music come what may.

‘Love isn’t a weakness, Liam. Look at me. I’m strong because of you…’

Ooh my, the chemistry accelerates to allegro, pitching a harmonic cadence like no other. Decadently written in its utter perfection, I was more than ready for them to move forward; for Liam to break down that moral barrier he’d built so high and give in to his true feelings.

“I’m tired of being your punishment, Liam North. Make me something else. Show me what it would be like if you took what you wanted, no guilt, no regrets. If you did anything to me. No restraint.”

Loved, loved, loved Josh and Bethany's unexpected and shortish account. His sarcasm was most welcome and ooh boy, has he got a dirty mind or what! Hers is a real eye-opener and I can’t tell you how happy I am that they'll be getting their own book towards the end of October.

I devoured this novel in record time and then ran to my pc at daft o’clock to write down my raging thoughts. The conclusion to the North Security Series came to its crescendo ending, leaving my heart singing. Warren’s delivered a unique masterpiece. Angst-ridden drama evoking all the feels and scene after gripping scene had me rereading the passages. The musical trivia at the beginning of each chapter not only did I find fascinating, but also highlighted the immaculate research done for the entire trilogy. Warren's style cannot be ignored and I can’t thank her enough for giving me abounding reading pleasure. Bravo!

This final installment in the forbidden saga of Liam North and Samantha Brooks was all the things!! Passionate. Suspenseful. Unpredictable. Steamy. Twisted. It was everything I've anticipated from the start of this trilogy and I devoured it in hours.

No one does edgy pleasure pain quite like Skye Warren. Her stories consistently teeter that dark line between exquisite bliss and torturous longing and they're always layered with the most decadent sensuality. That's the perfect way to describe Sonata, the climax of the achingly taboo relationship between a violin prodigy and her former guardian.

Well written with edge of your seat suspense, Sonata is a delicious finale to an absolutely addictive series. It hurt so good, cut so deep, and ended in the most satisfyingly romantic fashion. Another favorite series by this author in the books... can't wait for Audition!!

Composed Out Of Love
The dramatic conclusion to Samantha and Liam’s forbidden romance was worth the wait! This troubled man will finally find the way to believe in Happily Ever After.

Finding out her father was out to kill her, left Samantha forced into hiding. Both her and Liam are now living with the after effects. He’s trying to heal from his injuries. She’s just trying to find a way to move on without a piece of her heart.

Sonato is the epic conclusion that we were all waiting for and I think that I can speak for everyone when I say that we wanted all out showdown, steamy scenes, and a beautiful happily ever after because Liam and Samantha deserved it.

Picking up right where Concerto left off, Liam and Samantha now have to face the fact that their lives are now different. Constantly on the move and now looking over their shoulder with a looming threat, life as it was before will never be the same until they find the person who is after Samantha. Liam has made it his life’s mission to protect the woman who became more than family to him in the past few years. Never expecting to fall in love and have a future with her, Liam knows that it’s too late to deny anything and if it takes his last breath, he will find the person responsible for the threat.

From the moment I read Overture, I was hook lined and sinker with these characters and I desperately craved their next movements. Samantha and Liam had this explosive chemistry that you felt deep down despite both of them trying to avoid it. I loved their moments together and I liked the fact that Liam always tried to put her first. Things weren’t always easy when it came to these two but I admired the struggle and the effort that it took because at the end, it made them much stronger.

The only issue that I had with this one was that I was disappointed when it came down to what was supposed to be a showdown. Towards the end felt a bit rushed to me and I don’t know if I was just being greedy, but I wanted more!! Everything happened too quickly for my liking and I wanted to have a moment to savor it some more and just bask in the present but I didn’t. aside from that, I think that this is a series that everyone needs to have on their tbr and indulge in the forbidden because it’s sexy, hypnotic and with a dash of suspense, you can’t go wrong.

Wow. I never thought I would say this about a Skye Warren book, but I feel like I was gipped. Sonata is the final book in the trilogy and well, it was a let down for me. And that really sucks.

I have been so pulled into this series with the suspense, the relationship between Samantha and Liam - all of it and I was so excited to get answers to so much - who is Samantha's dad and why does he want her killed? Will Liam finally get his head out his ass and truly love Samantha like he knows he wants? Will they find out how deep these secrets run?

The only thing we got was Liam getting his head out his ass and professing his love, but a little all too quickly and out of nowhere. I mean, it gave me whiplash on how quickly he changes his tune. As for everything else - shit just gets wrapped up without knowing anything. WTF?!?

This book missed the mark completely for me. It took me way too long to read and then when I got to the end, I was left with this feeling of confusion and WTF did I just read? This is not typical of Skye Warren.

The writing was fantastic, which doesn't surprise me - it's Skye Warren! But this book felt like a novella to keep us excited for the finale and then she wrapped it all up within the last 10%. So disappointed and it guts me to say that.

Yea - nothing like the first two books and that is just heartbreaking for me.

I can't believe it's over without answering many questions. After creating so much suspense-mystery, I couldn't imagine that it would end in this way. It felt like the author was tired of the story and wrapped it up without any clarity. On top of that, there were other things that were not very impressive either.

And we finally get somewhere. The beginning of this book confused me a little because everything seemed a little abrupt and different from where we left off in book 2 but it was okay.

This book finally gave me the relief I’d been searching for throughout the two books, but I no longer felt that string chemistry between the two MCs.

Either it wasn’t there or after so much, I simply lost interesr. I think it might be a combo of book both.

Their smut is always interesting, btw.

Also, as much as I love taboo, because of how strange their love ended up developing, the mention of Samantha still treating Liam as her dad and he as her daughter was a little strange.

Overall, though, this trilogy was a good read!

***The following review contains spoilers if you have not read the other books in this series!***

“I’m not sure what a regular life looks like. My tidy little future filled with violin concerts and international acclaim? That shattered along with the wood on the stage of Carnegie Hall.
Bullets have a way of doing that.”

Samantha reluctantly steps back into the limelight in hopes of luring out whoever’s after her. Always uber vigilant, Liam stays firmly by her side, wanting to protect her at all costs. They’ve already crossed the line of ward/child and finally, in the end, they allow their passionate romance to flourish.

“He’s the bow against the strings; I’m the music he makes.”

SONATA contains mystery, suspense, intrigue and all the sexiness we’ve learned to associate with green-eyed Liam. However, I’ve read 100% of everything Warren has published and SONATA IMO is not a representation of just how exceptionally talented she is. Loose ends are tied up, yet in my opinion, not as well as they could’ve been. I also struggled with how pretentious this book felt at times. I consider myself quite intelligent, yet I literally had to look up 12 words!!! TWELVE!!! Words like supplicant, ignoble, hauteur, affectations, vicomte, hubris, limns, cistern & malachite made this book feel unnecessarily stuffy and formal. The wording also made me feel like I was reading a historical romance which is not a favorite genre of mine. Also, I came across a few odd phrases that didn’t make sense such as, ”Eyes almost black as ivory.”

Although Liam and Samantha‘s story is now over, we will soon have a story about Josh and Bethany! I’m super excited for their book!!! In SONATA we meet Fransisco/Frans and Isabell/Isa who certainly would make a very, very fascinating book! I miss Warren’s DARK books and hope she heads in that direction by writing about this taboo/kinky couple!!!!

I’m a huge fan of everything that Skye Warren writes, yet I can’t help but be a little let down by this last book in what has been an otherwise fantastic trilogy.

As always, this story is written in the lyrical prose that is common to all of Ms. Warren’s books. The language is a pleasure to read, as it communicates more than just actions. The tone of her writing evokes emotions and feelings and sets the scene more powerfully than mere words ever could. She has a real talent for using words at more than face value and I’m always in awe of this ability. I am literally transported when I read her books, to a world of sin and power and debauchery.

In this North Security series, the first two books delivered a taboo romance and a strong plot, both of which I could not wait to see how they would be resolved. However, in this third installment, the taboo of the relationship between guardian and ward was downplayed, and instead turned into an internal struggle where the crux of the problem between Samantha and Liam was his feelings of how his past made him unworthy of her love and affection. Not what I was looking for in such a dominating, alpha-male like Liam.

I also am not sure I fully understood the mystery of who was trying to harm Samantha, exactly why, and what happened to those involved. These characters seemed to just fade into obscurity in the story and the resolution of a story that took two books to unfold was rushed and unsatisfying.

On the whole, I did enjoy the North Securities trilogy. I just felt that it would have been better to have more time spent with a resolution and less on Liam’s am I/am I not good for her dilemma.

This is the conculsion to Liam North and Samantha Brooks epic love story.

This had the potential to be everything I wanted it to be but it left me a little short in the ens and with so many unanswered questions.

In Skye's usual style however she had me captivated, the story is filled with so much suspense you have to keep reading. Liam and Samantha's story is so unique, it's sexy, edgy, and passioanate.

“He’s the bow against the strings; I’m the music he makes.”
I can't wait to see what Skye brings us next in Josh and Bethany's story.

Books, Coffee & Passion

I’m literally speechless after reading Sonata or I’m just confused or baffled, I can’t even tell. Honestly, I don’t know where to start this review and if someone told me I would feel like this, after reading the last book in the North Security series written by Skye Warren, one of my favorite authors, I would definitely think it wouldn’t be possible. Yet here we are.
I was really excited about the final book in this trilogy so I didn’t really mind the slow pace at first, but somewhere along the way it started to bother me. The story was dragging and I felt like I was still reading the second book, because nothing was actually happening or moving toward a wrap up. I kept staring at the reading progress on my Kindle which I never do when I’m invested in the story. I was shocked when I got to 80-85ish % without any real character growth, little progress on the mystery/conspiracy plot and no progress whatsoever on the relationship between Liam and Samantha. There were some entertaining scenes but their relationship remained exactly like it was on the second book. The push and pull remained the same for most of the book: Liam protecting Samantha, feeling guilty about his feelings, dealing with his childhood traumas and Samantha trying to convince him that there was no need for him to feel guilty, that she really wanted him and that he was worthy. Just like a repetitive cycle. Then, around 85% everything happened! Like in a blink of an eye, everyone was safe, happy and all the security issues were solved. What the hell happened? I couldn’t even figure out how everything was solved, I read the last 15% of the book 3 times and I still can’t understand how everything was pushed aside. I’m very disappointed so I can’t rate this book higher than 2 stars and the second star is only because Skye Warren writing is still notably good. I’ll still order Audition, the first book in the spinoff series, True North, because I believe it might be better, we’ll see.

Overall 3 stars
Performance 4 stars
Story 3 stars

Sonata is the conclusion to Liam and Samantha's story and should only be listened to/read after first enjoying Overture and Concerto. I couldn't wait to find out what happens in this taboo love story after the way book 2 ended. Sadly, things felt a bit disjointed and I never felt like there was a true resolution to the mystery that spanned through the series. I was happy to finally see Liam face his feelings though and be honest with himself and Samantha. The narration was great overall, but I did enjoy the chapters performed by Teddy Hamilton more. He was perfect again, as the tortured alpha, Liam North. I'm looking forward to Josh and Bethany's story next.

What started out as a compelling and powerful series took a nosedive in the third installment. Missing chunks of details and answers to more than a few dangling questions were left unattended. More negatives than positives and Warren failed to impress me this go-round. I expected so much from this author and really was underwhelmed and disappointed with all the repetition and whining and excuses that made absolutely no sense without basis.

It appears there is a 4th book coming soon that will feature Bethany and Josh -- maybe there will be some answers there, but at this moment I'm not inclined to even go there.

A bust!

Sonata is an action-packed and emotional conclusion to Samantha and Liam’s love story! In this last novel in the North Security Series, this fated couple needs to fight their enemy, but also their pasts to finally be together.

This story is once again very intense an scorching hot! The passion between Samantha and Liam reaches new peaks, but it’s also their emotional connection that grows!

Liam is the ever-present strong alpha, but also tortured by his demons. He shows his protective side time and time again to keep his “little prodigy” safe! Samantha is haunted by the events that happened at the end of Concerto and needs Liam’s support more than ever.

Skye Warren captivated me with this forbidden romance bursting with suspense! The North Security Trilogy certainly concluded in an amazing way and I’m more than excited about Josh and Bethany’s story now!

This is book three in a trilogy, and it's more of the same from the last two books-- Liam feels guilty about loving Samantha because of their age difference, because of his shitty family history, because of his baggage as it relates to her career and professional development. Samantha still wants him, even as she tells him to stop feeling guilty for loving her. They have a bunch of convoluted conversations that are essentially them running around in circles on the same freaking issue. It's punctuated with some mediocre love scenes, love rivals, a little bit about Liam's brother, and more of Samantha's family drama (plus some government conspiracies and hits on Samantha, just to spice it up a bit!). My sense is Warren got to the 85% mark of the book and realized she had to wrap things up, so suddenly all these insurmountable issues get resolved in a handful of pages, from his fears, her insecurities, the security threat to her (which seemed big, but apparently vaporized in one incident), and then tadaa Happily Ever After.

What a disappointment. The premise at the start was so damn good-- monk-ish former guardian and brilliant violin prodigy. It turned into a total whine fest with his demons, her push-me-pull-you requests, their dumb families and some underwhelming love scenes. I wish I could get my money back, but oh well.

WARNING this entire review will be full of spoilers and mild ranting

Ok I guess I’m in the minority here but this book had a lot of problems. First and foremost was the pacing the last 10% of the book is when things actually happened and I still felt that a lot of questions weren’t answered.
I mean Samantha’s father is still out there and she still knows this super important code. But because Liam has decided they’re safe, they are?????
Also the first portion of the book is the usual circling between these two. And then suddenly with no real reason Liam decides he’s fine and proposes?!?!?!
There wasn’t any catalyst they never have any real productive conversations about their fears or concerns to work through them. Instead they have a shit ton of sex and call it a day.
Maybe this author just isn’t my thing but the writing was good I’ll probably give a SW another shot with a stand-alone novel.

Sonata is the final book in the North Security Series that follows Samantha Brooks and Liam North, although it looks like this series will continue with Joshua and Elijah, the other North Brothers stories and I am THRILLED for that. What I wasn't so thrilled about was the ending of Samantha and Liam's story, I am sure we will see more of them in Joshua and Bethany's book Audition, but until then I am left a little unsatisfied.

This has been a wonderful roller coaster ride of secrets, lies, and forbidden love. I enjoyed watching Samantha become a woman instead of the young lady she started the series as. I love Liam and Samantha together, forbidden love at it's finest. Skye Warren has taken us on a journey and made us root for Liam and Samantha right from the very start. Even if your mind told you no! they shouldn't be together because he was her guardian, I can almost guarantee you turned the corner pretty quickly on that thought once you felt not only the chemistry but the love between the two of them. Liam would lay down his life for her and those aren't just words he proves it.

I felt the ending was a bit rushed for my liking though, otherwise it would have most likely been a five star read for me. I still have some questions that are unanswered and I am wondering if they will be answered in Josh and Bethany's book because their story is intertwined with Liam and Samantha's, or if I will be left forever wondering....

I highly recommend this trilogy for those that enjoy forbidden love, romantic suspense, or age-gap romances. If you are a fan of Skye Warren's work this needs to be added to your TBR list and if you haven't read any of her work yet, this is a great place to start.

Happy Reading!!!

FINALLLYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! I have been on pins and needles waiting for the final book in this series and let me tell ya it was worth the wait. It was worth all the WTF moments, all the OMG times and definitely worth the swoons. Warren knocked it out of the park. Just when I thought the book would go one way it went the opposite. Just when I thought it was over for Liam and Samantha, it wasn't. Granted a lot of times I wanted to ring his neck, but that's the case with any over the top alpha. This series is epic. I loved it and this book wrapping everything up was angsty as hell. PERFECT!

Questo finale l’ho trovato più volte confusionario e durante la lettura più volte mi sono distratta, la serie dopo il primo che mi era piaciuto dal secondo non si è più ripresa per quanto mi riguarda.

The perfect ending to this angst filled trilogy.

I loved Samantha and Liam’s battle and their struggle to get their happy corner in a world filled with despair and deceit.

Look forward to reading Josh and Bethany’s story.

Sonata is an explosion of passion withheld, a steady flowing, slow-burn romance that delivers sexual tension, anticipation, and release all in due time.

Skye Warren has a writing style that always keeps me captivated and wondering what comes next. She writes in a way that keeps you thinking and guessing while living the story through the thoughts of the characters. As things are revealed to them, so are they to you.

Sonata is the final installment in the series and it ended with an explosive bang. Liam and Samantha have stolen my heart and made it sing. They've struggled with guilt, regret, shame, and desire. Secrets are revealed, deceit is uncovered, and love blossoms.

Of course, Skye has also given us a tease into the characters who will star in her next book and what a tease it is! Josh and Bethany promise to give more drama and fast-paced intrigue as more secrets are unveiled. I highly recommend falling in love with Skye's heroes today as they will light a fire in you that you never knew existed.
