Set in the Reacher Universe by permission of Lee Child Jack Reacher is about to be murdered. By a man from the future...
October 2101
Rock Wahlman…
Former Navy Master-At-Arms, Jack Reacher’s genetic duplicate—his actual clone, produced from a blood specimen that was drawn over a hundred years ago.
Recently recruited by a secret government agency, Wahlman has been sent back in time to protect Reacher from a faction called Topple, a rogue group of time-traveling criminals determined to alter the past in an effort to make the future more profitable for themselves.
You might say that Wahlman is extremely motivated.
Because if Reacher is killed before the blood that was used to produce Wahlman is drawn, then it’s possible that Wahlman will cease to exist.
He definitely has his work cut out for him. He knows he’s in Germany for a reason, but after being in a coma for three days, he can’t remember exactly what that reason is.
In fact, he can’t even remember his own name.
Before being recruited as Jack Reacher’s time-traveling bodyguard, Rock Wahlman got chased and shot at and beat some bad guys senseless in The Reacher Experiment series of thrillers. Pulse-pounding action from the first page to the last!

First of all, let me just say that I liked this book more than the Reacher Experiment series because of the time travel aspect. But, having said that, I was disappointed with Mr. Hardin's time travel plot. Rock Wahlman is sent back in time to keep a rival time-traveling company from assassinating Jack Reacher. Perfectly understandable. But, since the rival company is founded by a former employee of the time travel company that employs Wahlman, and they KNOW it, why on earth wouldn't they just go back in time and eliminate their former employee before he steals all the top-secrets to start his own company? Oh, well, suspension of disbelief rears its ugly head. It was a very quick read and kept my interest other than the above conundrum I mentioned.
Jack Reachers time has apparently run out. Set in the future where time travel exists. He has been cloned in an experiment that had to be shelved. Too unpredictable. Casualties. The powers to be all agreed as well as the general public. A new organization called Topple has resurrected it. Their motive? As old as time. Money. A huge amount of it can be made. Reacher lies in a hospital helpless . The year is 1983. His clone, his rescuer has traveled backward from 2101 as well as the agents from Topple. There paths will intersect. Non stop action! Enjoyed immensely!
This book is almost as good as Child’s Reacher stories, I am impressive and signing on for more. Now that I am into time travel courtesy of Heldt, this is right up my alley. I have taken to the character Rock Whalman. I thought Hardin did a bang up job and didn’t over extend the story. Well done, a great Read. 5
Good sci-fi take on Reacher's future. Fast paced action. Plot is not well hidden. I will read the follow-up book to see if Jude gives character's more connection to Reacher
A continuation of the story of The Reacher Experiment with some very unexpected twists an turns. McDaniel appears to be one of the good guys while Victor is up to some questionable maneuvers.
This series really keeps you locked in to the story. It makes you feel as if you are right there with the characters and part of the story. I highly recommend reading this series.
Having read all the Reachers and Widow books, I thought I had to take a look and love the concept of a Reacher clone doing the business in the future. Great read, recommend to all Reacher fans.
I didn’t know what to expect when I began this book but I was pleasantly surprised. As a long time fan of Reacher and Hunting Reacher I found this to be an interesting and imaginative take on Reacher.
'Timestream 1' pulled me in from the start and didn't let go. The premise of this story was quite intriguing. Full of action, mystery, adventure and great characters. I look forward to reading more.
Cool sci-fi twist and lots of action, I think this is going to be solid series, and I am looking forward to more. Just like Reacher, Wahlman is constantly underestimated, and that never works out for the bad guys, or the conniving good (but actually bad) guys. Check it out
Was okay.......lacked imagination. Not enuff tie-ins to Jack Reacher. Did he really run this by Lee Child?
Medium quality read. Not enuff Jack Reacher type Attributes, or qualities. I certainly hoped it to have been better! Good basic plot, but the stuff between the Plot Lines was mediocre. Hope for better with the next writings!
What was missing in Rock Wahlman’s life was the teeth-jarring thrill of the chase...Timestream 1 fulfills that missing adventure-link for him...for now...but what was going to come his way is the mystery of the next Jude Hardin novel
