This is the first book by this author that I have read and I truly enjoyed reading about Sadie‘s adventures when she agreed to be a nanny in Maine for a man named Levi. Levi’s wife died in an accident and he needed someone to look after his two children. Sadie is about the fifth nanny that he has employed and she soon finds out why all the nannies leave. I look forward to reading the second book in the series

Courting the Amish Nanny is an outstanding book written by Carrie Lighter in her Amish of Serenity Ridge series. This book has just the right mix of characters to tell this inspiring story of of loss, forgiveness, faith, and second chances.

Sadie has just realized she was in love with someone who doesn't love her back. So to avoid going to his wedding she agrees to go to Maine to help a very distant relative of her step mother watch his children for a few months. Little does she know this widower is very strict with his children in regards for their safety. Levi carries a secret about the death of his wife which causes him to be over protective and considered to hard to work for. Sadie being a very strong willed Amish woman accepts this personal challenge but it just might be more of a challenge than she thought. How Sadie deals with Levi will have you experiencing so many different emotions from laughing, sadness, frustration, and tears. This story plays out nicely and was an excellent read.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response. All opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

Congratulations to Carrie Lighter for writing this emtional and inspiring story for her readers enjoyment.

This takes place from Thanksgiving to Christmas in Maine. The story is about a overprotective father and a reckless nanny. There is cooking and snowshoeing and sledding and accidents and romance. This one wasn't as enjoyable as the other book I read in this series. I didn't like these main characters as much as the others.

This was a lighthearted read with a strong willed heroine and overprotective hero of his twins. The setting is in Maine on a Christmas tree farm, thus informative how an Amish Christmas tree farmer does business. Will Sadie and Levi get matters resolve before she returns to her home community in Pennsylvania for Christmas?

A will they or won’t they up until the very last chapter. Enjoyed the writing. Sadie was headstrong but enjoyable. Her banter was funny at times. Just cute and I love it was in a setting like Maine. I only low scores it cause I did get kind of tired of the constant back and forth of miscommunication. Just court already! lol. 😂

Headstrong

The father of twins is headstrong and rigid in their raising. He doesn't allow them to be children. But their nanny is strong willed and a bit of a tomboy. If anyone can affect change, she can in this daring romance.

All she wants for Christmas is to not fall in love…
She’ll be their Christmas nanny…But a permanent family’s not part of her plans.
Embarrassed by an unrequited crush, Amish maedel Sadie Dienner needs a vacation from her life in Pennsylvania—and from romance. Until Christmas, she’s working in Maine as a nanny to Amish widower Levi Swarey’s twins. But Levi is frustratingly overprotective and they just can’t see eye to eye on anything. And the worst part? Sadie can’t seem to stop herself from losing her heart…
This is Sadie Dienner and Levi Swarey's story.
“If you go to Maine now, you’ll miss hochzich season here,” Sadie Dienner’s stepmother, Cevilla, protested as she mixed water with flour to thicken the juice of a roast into gravy.
Jah, that’s exactly my plan, Sadie thought. “I’m happy for Sarah and Rebekah, but we aren’t exactly close friends,” she said. “It’s not as if I’m a newehocker in either hochzich.”
She hardly expected to be asked to be a wedding attendant; the brides were each four years younger than twenty-five-year-old Sadie and she rarely saw them except at church. Sadie’s closest friends had been married for years and she was painfully aware that once Sarah and Rebekah married their suitors this fall, she’d be the only single woman in Little Springs, Pennsylvania—with the exception of Elva Wyse, a ninety-two-year-old widow. And Elva had been married three times, so it wasn’t as if she was considered a spinster.
Levi Swarey firmly grasped the hands of his four-year-old twins, Elizabeth and David, as they skipped along beside him on the way to his mother’s daadi haus across the lawn from his own home. Her death had hit him hard and he’d rarely been inside her house since she’d passed away in July. Afterward, the women from his church district had visited to collect her clothes for donation and give the place a good scrubbing down.
They’d said they washed all the linens and stowed them away in the closet, so Levi figured that besides making up a bed there was little for him to do before Sadie moved in, but he wanted to double-check that she had everything she would need.
“I can smell Groossmammi,” Elizabeth announced tearfully moments after they entered the empty house.
I highly recommend reading.

A good story. However the author should have had an editor -- in several places there were missing words in the sentence, which made following the dialog a little difficult. In other words, the story line was good, but the writing at times left something to be desired.
