This is my first book by this author and I very much enjoyed the story and main characters in the story. We focus on Becca and Lucas and their journey to each other.

Becca thought everything on her life couldn’t get any better she had the perfect fiancé Harry and she was close to graduating college, that is until she walked in on him with another girl and everything in her world began crashing around her. After ending her relationship with Harry he is hell bent on destroying her life and reputation, feeling alone in the world there is only one person who is still in her corner her best friend Emma she is there with her through everything. Just when things look to be worse than ever with Harry becoming violent and intent on running her out of college she meets Lucas a kind and caring fireman that appears to be anything and everything she could have dreamt of but can she really trust him after she has been so cruelly treated and can she handle the twist of fate just around the corner?

Lucas wasn’t looking for love the day that he had to do a fire safety talk at the local college but that was before he saw the sad eyed brunette standing there looking so lost, he wanted nothing other than to pull her into his arms and make everything ok, shocked by his immediate feelings he has to try and help her but when she rejects him he has no choice but to walk away. But fate has other ideas and after a fire in her building he is back in her orbit and he is determined that he is going to find a way to get to know the woman who is haunting his dreams, can he convince Becca to give them a chance or will his and her vindictive ex destroy the future that he so desperately wants and how will things be when they discover that Harry is his stepbrother?

This book was an emotional journey of second chances and learning to trust again. Lucas was the perfect hero and Becca was a heroine who learned her strength. I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced copy of this book provided by Booksprout.

A really good story, and the characters are believable and interesting.
My hang up is the mistakes and spelling errors. Once a book goes on sale it should have already been edited and checked , I feel maybe it wasn’t done to a high enough standard, and although I can except some errors but this is quite a substantial amount.
I enjoyed the story however and the three stars reflects the comments above .
I’ve read Mia before and will continue to do so happily.

Becca is a college student who is an English major. She’s engaged but walks in on her fiancé with another woman. After breaking up with him he turns into a terror. He spreads rumors about her, threatens her and even assaults her.

Lucas is a fire fighter, after goi g to the nearby college to do a talk about fire safety he finds himself intrigued by a girl. There’s so much sadness surrounding her he just wants to wrap her in his arms and keep her safe. How can he convince her to open up to him?

Both these characters are dynamic and multifaceted. They also share very complicated family lives, particularly with their mothers.

There are also some very strong supporting characters, some of which you will hate. Others you will love.

This book was fantastic. I would recommend it
as a great way to spend a couple hours.

This was an okay book. Normally I like Mia's books but this one just didn't keep my interest. Becca catches her boyfriend cheating. He acts like a complete jerk and tries to ruin her. She meets Lucas who shows her what a real man is. Too bad he has his own crazy ex to deal with. Thankfully in the end it all works out for them.

She meets Lucas, a firefighter, when he is giving a fire safety talk at her college. Sparks fly but after what Becca has been through, she isn’t ready to trust anyone. When there is a fire in her building, they see each other again. Can he convince her to give him a shot? Will he protect her from her ex? Fast-paced emotional read with great characters, plenty of drama and lots of steam. I really liked it.

Beautiful love story with lots of drama.
After finding her ex cheating on her, threatening, attacking & trying to kill her Becca thought her life was over Harry promising he was going to ruin her. When Lucas attends the fire at a college dorm he finds the owner Becca distraught but can see the sadness in her eyes even more so from the day he saw her at the college. It was love at first sight for both of them there was a connection when they met that first time at the college but she was being abused & threatened even more now by Harry he was even causing trouble in college for her but Lucas was there to help again when Harry set fire to her dorm again almost killing her. Gradually Becca started letting him in spending more time together as friends until they took the next step but Harry was still on his mission to ruin her but there was also now Maria who was Lucas's ex threatening him wanting him back but taking no for an answer. Becca went through a lot of pain, agony, vulnerable but Lucas was there to pick her up & start living again but it was a lot more drama, pain & a bit emotional before any chance they could be together & some people needed to change prove themselves trustworthy before they would be allowed into their lives.
I loved this book it had wonderful characters aswell as some nasty ones & I couldn't put it down.

Becca is in the final year of her English degree when she finds her fiancé Harry cheating on her and dumps him.
But Harry retaliates. He doesn’t like to be made out to be the bad guy. He’s violent towards Becca, threatening her, setting fires and attacking her reputation by spreading vicious rumours.
A lot of students believe Harry as he’s so popular because his daddy has money, but he’s spiralling.
It’s Lucas’s turn to give a fire safety talk at the college, and that’s where he first sees Becca. He can’t get over how sad and low the beautiful girl looks. He sees her again after a fire in her dorm block and this time gives her his number in case she just wants someone to talk to.
They meet again when her dorm room is where the next fire starts and she is sent to stay in a hotel.
This is when they begin to get much closer, but Harry’s bitter campaign continues and then everyone discovers a problem…
This was a thoroughly entertaining story with a passionate and genuine relationship forming between Lucas and Becca. Harry’s character is pretty twisted and keeps everyone on their toes. Excellent.

Accidental Savior. This book was great! There was so much excitement and suspense in this book. I really enjoyed the book! I was captured in the very beginning of the book. Becca goes through so much trouble in the beginning finding her so called boyfriend on the couch having sex with someone else and him trying to blame her for what he was doing. . This starts several crazy events that Harry tries to say Becca was the problem. Becca now discovers that Harry may have a major issue with women. She gets accused of being a fire starter and that is how Lucas comes to her rescue and decides he wants more. They start up a relationship only to be shocked by more problems with Harry and a family secret. This book brings us Lucas and Becca. Becca caught her no good boyfriend Harry, cheating on her. He was a real piece of work, from a very wealthy family - in fact his father was a donor to the college they were attending. Harry decides that he wants Becca to leave the school, so he does horrible things to her. Becca tries to let let it get to her, but it does, even when he burns the dorm room she is sleeping in. This is where she meets firefighter Lucas. One look, and Lucas knows that Becca is sad, but she won't open up to him. He makes it a point to let her know that he is there for her. Finally, she does, and they begin to start a relationship. Lucas was a great guy, someone who treasured Becca. However, one night, they meet Harry on the street, and wow - what a twist. This was a great read and I do recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

Dang Mia has brought together a fireman and stepbrother in the same story. Wow, is what I have to say on this one. This story will have you wanting to kill someone along with wanting to hug another to make them feel better. What happens when a stepbrother falls for his stepbrother's ex-gf that he had no clue who she was? That is this right here. Cheating bf, she breaks up he is cruel towards her and tries to ruin her. Then dear sexy fireman stepbrother is there for her. But can these two make it work when they find out who her ex really is? Will he go against his family for her?

Becca is a college student. Becca meant Harry her year in college. Becca has caught her fiancé Harry cheating on her. Then Harry starts to blame Becca for not being there and he had a moment of weakness. Then Harry says that she's not going to get anyone better than him. After Becca brakes up with him he started threating her and making Becca paranode about everything. Lucas is a firefighter. Lucas was at the college to give a prestation about fire safety. Lucas notices that there is something going on with Becca and offers to talk with her. I enjoyed reading this book. I loved the storyline and plot. I totally enjoyed this awesome book. Becca is so likable and strong, even if she doesn’t believe she is. Lucas is an all around great guy. Both of them are going through some of the same things with people they want out of their lives. I loved all the danger, passion, action, drama, and surprises. I was hooked from the very beginning I couldn’t put it down cause I had to find out where it was going. I’m glad that I didn’t put it down, cause it was well worth the read.

She and Lucas meet at a time when she is untrusting and being terrorized by her ex, Harry. They are drawn to each other but she is wary. He wants to put her first. Their story has plenty of drama, heartache, twists and turns. I thought the story had good characters who find their way past a major obstacle, to find happiness together

Perfect title !!

Becca's got secrets she only shares with her very best friend; with time and lotsa patience, Lucas will break down her walls.

Great storyline full of drama, secrets and strong chemistry between the main characters.

Jilted & Bullied Co-Ed Finds Solace In Sweet & Sexy Firefighter

This is a simple and easy to read story about a college girl who finds love during a difficult time in her life.

Becca Dresden, roughly twenty-one, meets Harry Cuthbert during freshman year at college and gets engaged. He is handsome and rich and wants her to meet his family. But after Becca takes a few weeks during senior year to buckle down and write a great paper for her class, she catches Harry with another girl. Harry doesn't take well to her breaking the engagement and resorts to bullying her and making her life impossible.

Becca becomes lonely in the face of rumors and bullying.  It zaps her self-esteem, which was already lacking. She has worked harder than the other students because she felt she wasn't as smart, and now she feels she was an idiot for even dating Harry and not seeing his ugly side.

Firefighter Lucas Meyer, twenty-six, is the child of a messy divorce. He has had a few relationships that he tried to hard to make work because he is determined to not mess up like his parents did. He wants his one true love. He broke up with his ex eighteen months earlier,  and she has just begun trying to weasel herself back into his life, but he know better than to submit to her manipulations.

Lucas and Becca meet when he gives a safety talk at the college, then twice again when two fires start in her dorm. Lucas is captivated by the beautiful but sad girl, and moved to ask if he can help in any way. While Becca doesn't immediately accept his help, his unwavering interest and concern for her eventually open the door to romance.

Lucas and Becca have many issues to face while trying begin their new relationship. They have family problems and exes that threaten to ruin their happiness. Life gets very challenging, but they do eventually earn their sweet HEA.

Lucas's character is refreshing. He is a down to earth man, affectionate, and caring - yet an alpha when needed. His sweet attention is adorable. His soft-spoken charm and good looks win over a very hesitant Becca. He was a great match for her shattered heart.

There are a few things in the story that feel manufactured, making it feel flat in a few areas. First, it seems a bit too convenient that after eighteen months Lucas's ex, Marie, returns and is nearly as psycho as Becca's ex, Harry. They are both extremely unhinged and not dealing with reality.

It becomes obvious later that people did witness some of Harry's abuse, but it seemed to take a while. It is hard to believe that there weren't tons of witnesses to most of his shenanigans.

Additionally, Lucas's co-worker Bradley is a little too dense to feel realistic, even if Maria fed him lies. I would have liked it better if it had been crafted in a way to get the same affect without making him out to be a dimwit. Perhaps if Maria were smarter and did a bet job of covering her motives it would have worked better.

The blackmail letter Lucas receives states that his relationship with Becca is illegal,  which is absurd. They are both adults. One a student about to graduate, the other a fire fighter. That Lucas would buy into that possibility for even a minute makes him look rather gullible.

Finally, Becca hides away in a hotel room for three weeks, which seems unrealistic. Maybe a week, most. A day or two makes the most sense. It simply made no sense for her to leave for so long when she had a private place provided by the university to hide out in.

I would rate this 3.5 stars if possible. It is a sweet story and it is so nice to see Becca and Lucas get past their problems together. There are some editing issues and typos, along with the issues mentioned above that were a little overkill.

The copy I read had quite a few grammatical errors. Once the baby was called by it's paternal step grandmother's name. Her editors and ARC readers need to do a better job.

Senior year in college. Becca has just finished a major paper and received a great grade on it. To celebrate she goes to Harry’s dorm room (really, more of a suite) where she finds him in a compromised position under some naked girl. This is the 1st time his famous temper has been directed at her.

He comes off mad because she has been ignoring her for her schoolwork. He calms down when the “other woman” leaves but fires right back up when Becca ends their engagement and throws his ring hitting him on the forehead. “Don’t you give that back to me,” he warns. “You end this, and you’ll regret it. I promise you.”

Becca, standing outside of her dorm, just after midnight in her pajamas. Watching the firemen work the fire she starts thinking how much worse it could have been for her, asleep on the top floor, if she hadn’t gotten out PLUS Lucas is working this fire.

Becca ends up calling Lucas and they go out for drinks. Then Lucas calls her and they go out to supper. When he walks her to her new room, she invites him in and they “connect.” He doesn’t know if he should spend the night, she wants him there, so he stays.

Ex-girlfriend, Maria, shows up with Bradley, who works with Lucas, at the fire station. She wants to start an argument and Bradley backs her up expecting Lucas to apologize to her for treating her so poorly. (She has so lied to Bradley.)

Who can say no to your Accidental Savior when he turns out to be a super hot firefighter????

Well Becca definitely cannot say no to Lucas. Becca thought he had it all when she met Harry during her first year at college. They get engaged and everything is great. But as we all know not everything is as it appears sometimes and this is so with Harry. During her last year she discovers Harry with another woman and breaks the engagement, smart girl. But Harry does not take rejection well, spoiled little azz that he is. So he retaliates by bullying Becca and starting rumors, literally making her life hell. Becca becomes isolated, lonely and takes a major hit to her self confidence because she is blaming herself for not seeing Harry's darker side.

In steps Lucas when he comes to the college to do a safety talk. Then he and the firefighters from his station come back a couple more times because of fires on campus. He is immediately drawn to Becca as he can see she is struggling and has empathy for her. He asks whether he can help her in any way but she does not accept. However, Lucas does not give up and finally Becca lets him in to her life.

While both Becca and Lucas are dealing with issues individually they begin to build a relationship that will allow them each to heal by being accepted by each other for who they are. They are a good couple together and it is great to read their story. Accidental Savior is a wonderful romance story about what happens when you are not looking but find your "forever" and get your HEA.

Becca meets Harry just as she starts college and the hit it off. They end up getting engaged eventually however when she stays in for a bit to work on a paper her during her senior year Harry doesn't take it well. When she finishes it she goes to surprise him only to be surprised herself because he is in bed with another girl. She ends their engagement but Harry doesn't let it go he starts bullying her to the point that she doesn't even want to leave her room. One day after an assembly a firefighter named Lucas that was on campus talking about fire safety sees her and approaches her to see if she's ok. Becca doesn't want to say anything because Harry's father's is a big donor and the school won't do anything to him because of that. Lucas can't stop thinking about Becca and he eventually runs into her again. When they do start seeing each other she tells him about her ex and what's going on at school even though she doesn't really want to go through it all again. When Lucas receives a blackmail letter about his relationship with Becca he worries about what it could do to his job. Will the blackmail cause Lucas to back off from Becca? Will Becca be able to get someone to help he deal with Harry?

This is an emotional story about a very serious problem. The author wrote about it in a way true with how it is sometimes now a days. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is set over in England. Some words aren’t America sayings but more British terms.

In this story we have Lucas who is a local fireman. His family is wealthy, but he really doesn’t want anything to do with his mother and her new husband. Lucas is a hard worker and loves helping others.

Becca is a local college student. She’s been in a bad relationship with Harry. He has treated her like a princess until she catches him cheating on her. Of course Harry blames her for his cheating.

Harry becomes very aggressive towards Becca and has caused her harm. When Lucas sees her one night at the college after putting out a fire he knows something is wrong. She has a distant look in her eyes. He asks if he can help of course she says no.

The next time Lucas and Becca meet she feels a bit better about talking with him. Becca is nervous that Harry will see them and will possibly hurt her more.

Lucas makes Becca feel safe. She loves being around him and strong and protectiveness that comes off of him.

Lucas loves being around Becca. He knows things have been bad for her. But he doesn’t know the full story. Of course Harry is spreading awful rumors about Becca at the school. The college dean / office staff won’t hear Becca out. She’s on her own.

Will Becca and Lucas be able to have a relationship with Harry always causing Becca to question everything?

This story is about Lucas and Becca. Lucas is a fire fighter and Becca is a college student who is engaged to Harry. The story starts off with Becca finishing some work that she needs for school and excited to tell her fiancé about until she reaches his place and the door is open to which she walks into him having sex with another girl. Instead of him being apologetic, he blames her for not having time for him due to her school work, she throws the engagement ring back to him right before he tells her awful things and that she will regret doing this. This is a side of him that she had never seen, but ignores it and goes about her business. Unfortunately for her, he becomes her bully while being abusive to her. Lucas is there at the college presenting fire safety, when he notices her sad eyes and approaches her to see if she needs help. She walks away from him as she is upset at the rumors that Harry has spread about her. The story kicks off between both Lucas and Becca when someone started a fire in her dorm building and he was on that night shift and couldn’t believe that she was out there while rumors were spread that she started the fire. There is a big twist to this story that was unexpected, but has the best outcome that I hoped for....

Then someone starts sending photographs to him along with threats! Which psycho is it? What should they do? Then Becca receives some disturbing news and takes off! Then she discovers an even bigger secret! Where should she turn? What can she do? Will her and Lucas be able to overcome all the obstacles in their way? Can they outwit the stalkers? Another great read from this author. This one will take you on a roller coaster of emotions. It has you hooked right from the beginning. It is full of suspense, drama, family, steamy scenes, great chemistry, great characters that grown and evovle, domestic violence, and a whole lot more.
