Eclipses play a crucial role in the fates of nations and the lives of individuals. Nationally known astrologer Celeste Teal draws on nearly thirty years of astrological experience to explain and illustrate how eclipses act as cosmic telegrams about the current state of our world, our personal lives, and our relationships with others.
Eclipses illustrates how recent and historical events can be linked directly to eclipses, and provides predictions for their effects on world events in the next decade and beyond. Readers will explore the effects of prenatal eclipses on the natal chart, as well as past, present, and future eclipses. While eclipses are often mentioned in monthly horoscopes, no other book has ever attempted to demonstrate how these heavenly events are observably connected to both world events and personal affairs.
Summary: Do I think the eclipses have powerful energy surrounding events. Yes. Does this book convince me, possibly. Do I think the astrology work is helpful to me, no. I don't think the way the astrology is done here will add to those that are a bit stronger in the area of reading charts.
I think this book is spot on in describing the type of energy an eclipse brings. Those that are more sensitive, empathic, will feel it so strongly they can't help but be effected. Those that are not, still might show aberrant behavior. We are all just bags of chemicals after all. But, you know, the thing that i don't think is convincing is her framework for describing the relationship between the charts and actions. I do think you can do charts on companies and also places/nations being birthed. I'm just not convinced that a single chart, even with the retrogrades is the right way to do it.
I absolutely love the way she talks about north and south node. To me, give how long acting these are, this is really great stuff. P. 102-103.
A few notes on this for my personal use: Head Cancer, Tail Capricorn - In the past you were of a business mind, cool, calculating, and proud of public status. Now the challenge is to open up and experience the feeling of nurturing, both from receiving and giving. Head in Cap, Tail in Cancer - Attachments to the past, childhood, etc. But you need to look outside yourself for the larger idea and become a model fo maturity. Look outside of that part of life that is more emotional to grow. (my rewording).
I have to think about my version of interpretation of the N&S nodes. The appendix has a lot of great dates that I might use to do more work. I don't do this type of astrology, but possibly one day.
