Freya's birth came with a warning for the three kings of Olympus. A stranger even in her own palace, when she's banished to her enemy's court to live her life in captivity, a titan blood amidst Olympian traitors and loathed by all, Freya struggles to find her place in this new world of powerful immortals, especially with her mysterious and dark captor, the king.
Son of the mighty Acheron, wielding the power of pain, Alec is distant and strange as are all of the creatures from the underworld. His designs for Freya are pure revenge, but at times she imagines another side to the king of the seven islands. As she questions why Alec keeps so close to the humans that he rules, she learns her curiosity will come at a price.
Making deals with the enemy has already forced Freya the Fallen to her bitter end, but her heart was never supposed to be a part of the bargain.
Exactly what fans of Lore Olympus, Circe, and A Court of Thorns and Roses are looking for. Bestselling Author Logan Delayne brings new life to well known Greek myths and perhaps some characters that are not often explored. -- Goodreads Review
★★★★★ The most addictive fantasy all year! Amazon Reviewer
A literal page turner, Freya's story is both wondrous and relatable. Readers are swept into a new world where mythological characters we know well, and some not as well...yet...give us insight to their individual personalities and powers. As a young goddess, Freya has not yet come into her own and, just when you think you've figured her out, she surprises you, and herself, again. Readers will relate to Freya's "human" side; we empathize with her pain and almost feel her power surge through us as she comes into her own. Logan DeLayne pens a captivating narrative, and I can't wait to see the path she sets for Freya in book two.
Wow, I’m blown away! It was amazing! It immediately reminded me of Madeline Miller’s Circe in the context of the Olympian vs Titan storyline but also in the beautiful and poetic language used. The story, of course, is very different. It brings new life to well known Greek myths and perhaps some characters that are not often explored in such detail. I love the main character Freya. She’s a mystery that I look forward to being explored more in the next novel. Freya and Alec’s relationship is intense. I do hope to see them work through the issues. I highly recommend this book!
We have all heard stories of Titans and Olympians. This is a new twist on old characters. We get to see some lesser mentioned gods, goddesses and Titans. This story has twists and turns in it making it exciting, captivating and wanting more. I couldnt put it down. You learn a different side to the world of Greek Mythology. Logan delivered a perfect balance of emotional needs to action packed drama. Well done and dying for book 2! I have questions I need answers to
I absolutely love Freya’s story. Logan Delayne has managed to put a unique spin on Greek mythology and I can’t get enough! If you love mythology with a dark edge pick up this book! You won’t be disappointed.
I love Greek mythology. I was so excited to finally be able to read Beware The Fallen and I am so happy to announce that it DOESN'T disappoint. Logan I can't wait to read what happens to Freya and Alec next!!!!
Possibly my newest favorite book. The feelings and depth of Freya's character draw you in and grab hold of your heart-strings right from the start. I can't wait to see where her journey leads, but one thing is for sure, I will follow...
This story gripped me right in its jaws and did not let me go! A vivid reimagining of the Olympian pantheon of gods.
We follow Freya, a titan that has fallen from her father's side in an effort to keep her sister safe, but all is not as it seems.
The story is well written, though a bit fast paced. One thing happens then another happens in the next paragraph, so it was easy to lose track of what would happen in the story. However, I did love it. It's not everyday you read about reimagining of the gods as vivid as this one.
We've got love, betrayal, intrigue and twists galore as the story unfolds, and I'm curious to see what will become of Freya after the ending of the book. I can't wait to read what happens next.
I just finished reading and I have no clue what the point of the story was. The beginning was good. I liked the idea of a young, banished woman learning a new world that she once feared while finding herself. I get that, it's a solid thought. What I don't get is everything after Armen dies. Every character minus the FL are awful. I don't mean this as portrayed awful. As in nothing makes sense. There's are so many details that jump everywhere and nothing sticks around long enough to create any character traits, plot points or moving action. I'm so lost on what the timeline was, what the plot was, where the story went, all of it. I read the whole thing and still have no idea what she is or what she looks like. Freeze miser? Dark Elsa? Moondrop Rapunzel? No fn idea. Romance? No idea. Like snips with people but nothing that showed a real relationship. There's an attempt for buildup between Alec and FL but nothing that sticks and builds cause so much is going on. And half of its nonsense. I still don't know what a torch is, no clue why Zeus is wanting to kill all titans because he has bad dreams BUT EVERYONE SEEMS TO NEGLECT HER SISTER IS A TITAN JUST CAUSE SHE'S PRETTY! I can buy a lot but not "kill all titans" but only the emo tangled chick with self esteem issues. Not the cute one who has no solid characteristic other than spoiled and we'll write off later on. Still never found out about Apollo. Never figured out her dad even though he's randomly showing up to show he's still a bad guy and relevant. It's just too much. Would have been better off stretched into other books. Give the characters time to breaths. I ended it not liking any of the characters, a massive headache, and a need to cry at wasted time. I gave it two stars since I finished it, the ending just drops off to nothing. I still don't know what I read. Was I suppose to read other books before this one to grasp it? I'm just confused.

I am a huge mythology fan and anytime something comes across my recommendations where an author puts their own spin on these stories it always is a must have for me. This story is incredibly addictive in a way that had me finishing it in 24 hours.. yes it was that good.
The books point of view is focused on Freya’s journey after being banished by her Titan father. Alone and scared awaiting judgement and death for her sisters crime of stealing a shell from Acherons son, Ascalaphus kingdom she becomes a prisoner under his command. Let me say this now, I did not like her sister whatsoever. She was the total opposite of Freya in every sense of the term. And I wanted to leap into the story and ring her neck a time or two for her selfishness. But you could see the love Freya had for her and I had pitied it since I felt that her sister wouldn’t do half of the things Freya would for her. But the story was intriguing in the poetic way and it keeps your attention focused on every characters motive or scheme.
Now locked in a castle by Ascalaphus, Freya must navigate this new world and her naivety shows through the entire story. It’s kind of heartbreaking really once truths and secrets come to light and wars loom on the horizon where she still finds herself centered in the mist of it alone and desolate as she ever was. I hoped to find her powers manifesting to show how powerful she truly was and there were parts in the book where I thought this is it, but it never came. And the ending was just as somber as the story but grips you for more. Definitely recommend for fans of mythology. If you liked the writing style of Tahereh Mafi author of Shatter Me this would be for you too.
I really wish I could to a halvesy here. The premise was good and the characters were well developed with solid backstories, and I did enjoy the overall story quite a bit. But this book just read like it was trying too hard. While it appears the goal was deep, poetic prose, many times it just kind of ended up as "What the f@#$ does that even mean?". I frequently had to go back and re-read a sentence or paragraph to make sure I wasn't misreading because whatever thought or point was being made was incomplete. Sometimes it was a literal incomplete sentence. Sometimes the phrasing was so convoluted that it just didn't even make sense anymore. Punctuation in weird places. Topics and conversations introduced without context or explanation. I've read mythology, but I'm by no means an expert. It just felt like there was so much that was assumed and shouldn't be for the average reader. I don't regret reading this at all. It held my interest and there were many more beautiful parts than frustrating parts, but those frustrations just really killed my flow. I can't justify more than a 3 since I'm jumping off that cliff, too.
Beware The Fallen by Logan Delayne was an amazing book. Gods, Titans, forbidden feelings, fierce and passionate hatred, what else could you want? Oh, you want revenge too? This book has it!! Freya and her sister have led a VERY VERY sheltered life until Cenia stole a shell. This book is full of everything you could want from a book. You're going to love it!! 5 stars and 2 thumbs way up.
Know all there is to know about the titans? Heard all the Greek Myths? I assure you, you have not. Logan’s seamless word building will transport you to a gripping and epic tale of betrayal, self discovery and worth.
Freya’s story is one for the ages and one that will stand the test of time. New, gritty and gripping. I’ve been to the underworld and back with Freya!
So this book was...CONFUSING AF. Like the storyline was ALL over the place and I just could not follow. I actually reread several paragraphs and still couldn't decode what the author was attempting to say. Another reviewer said (and I paraphrase) they felt like the author was trying so hard to be poetic that they didn't make sense at all, to which I fully agree.
Also the characters and their behavior were PROBLEMATIC AF!!! For example the MCs sister is supposed to be extremely beautiful and so all these men want her in a sexual manner which would be ok if she WERE IN FACT AN ADULT!!!! However, the MC states that her sister is ONLY 14, but apparently has the body of a fully grown woman thats just how Goddesses appear (LIKE THIS FACT MAKES THIS SITUATION OK?!?! AM I LIVING A PARALLEL UNIVERSE WHERE THIS IS SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE)!!!!
It decently written and has some interesting things but I dragged on too long and I just couldn't get into it ended up quiting a little over half way done
I received an eARC of this book from the author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review.
When I see a book about mythology, I grab it. I love Greek/Roman/Norse/Egyptian….well you get the picture 😉 Beware the Fallen by Logan Delayne is the first in her new series Banished Divinity about Freya a young half-titan who is beginning to come into her powers when she is banished to the Seven Islands and falls prisoner to Alec, the son of Archeron. You guys!!! It is SO good. I could not read this book fast enough. I devoured it! If you are a fan of Greek mythology, do yourself a favor and grab this book. Told exclusively from Freya’s POV, Beware the Fallen will keep you turning pages late into the night.
Freya is a sheltered goddess, having been raised in her father’s kingdom away from the eyes of the Olympians and humans. All her knowledge of them comes from the books and stories that have been told to her. As a result, she is naive and a little prejudice at the start of the book. When her little sister Cenia leaves the island and returns with a shell, Freya takes her punishment, claiming it was her that took the shell instead. Little does she know what her father has planned for her.
Alec is the god-king of the Seven Islands and demands as payment for the shell that Cenia be returned to the Islands permanently. When Freya shows up instead, he is distrustful and stand-offish (to say the least). Alec’s development throughout the book is one of beauty. I love how the author takes Freya’s opinion of the god-king on a journey as Freya learns who her true enemies are. Alec is one of my favorite characters, and my heart ached for him as we learn more about him throughout the book.
The plot is fast-paced and constantly shifting focusing mostly on Freya and her adjustment to her new living arrangements. However there are many subplots that I hope are carried through to the rest of the series. Like why do the Olympians want to kill Freya? What is a torch? Will we get our HEA because mythology usually doesn’t end well 😅
Overall Beware the Fallen is a fantastic read. I loved every word. Beautifully written, Delayne will take you on a journey with Freya unlike any I’ve read before. I highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys fantasy and Greek mythology with a touch of romance.
Amazing! The characters and story are well written and had me from the first few pages. I don't want to give any spoilers, but this was an quite a ride, highly recommend!
The storyline was written so vividly that I felt in another world that LD created. Great story lines with the Olympian characters. Freya is still growing into her power and mystery of who her mother was sounds interesting. I can't believed how the book ended though. I was really disappointed with major cliffhanger ending. Can't wait for book two. I hope it won't take a year or two though.
I liked this story. It was a bit addicting and had a lot of action. I both liked and hated all the characters that showed up. I thought it was a twist to the usual story of Titans and Olympians and a great read. I liked the magic and the power as humans and "gods" showed up. I liked the twists and really wanted to slap a few characters, especially Freya's sister. I loved the mystery and trying to guess who the good and bad guys were. Freya was a blast to watch as she came into herself and her powers. Just a great story and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
I love mythology retelling. We get to see god and goddess relationships with each other. Freya is an interesting character whom we get to see the evolution of her feelings towards alec. From hate to love when she finally admit it, it's frustratingly too late and it's the end of the book. I can only hope they will find each other again as I really like them together.

I enjoyed this book but did anyone else find inconsistencies with the story line. I was a little lost at times. And there were letters missing for some words. Overall I got the just of the book but I was confused more than once with minute pieces of the story.
