The first and only wish on his Christmas List – the One Who Got Away

Macon Draeger has loved Charlotte for as long as he can remember. While he’s thrilled that she’s back in Last Stand, Texas, he suspects she won’t stay long. Charlotte has always had a wandering spirit, with dreams that carry her far from their hometown.

When Charlotte Kraus returns to run her grandmother’s flower shop for the holidays, she never expected to feel so at home and inspired. On a whim, she decides to transform the simple flower shop into a flower cafe. The project quickly spirals out of her control, but Macon, her high school sweet heart – a skilled and in demand handy man – steps in to help. Was he this tall, dark, handsome and tempting when they were teens? Charlotte is wondering about a lot of things by the time they ring in the New Year.

Spending time with Charlotte reminds Macon of what he truly wants in life – love and a family of his own. Can he gain his heart’s desire this Christmas?

A lovely, clean, sweet romance with a fabulous Beta hero and a vibrant heroine, “Christmas Flowers”, by Sasha Summers (Tule Publishing), explores the “I loved you for years” trope and shows how teenage love feelings can linger and turn into adult love.
The story features two strong and kind people: Macon, the boy left behind, still openly in love with the heroine, and Charlotte, the one who left, a fierce, talented, yet unemployed photojournalist.
They’re not over confident yet not insecure either, they have doubts and work them through.
Macon is just adorable, trying and failing to convince himself he’s over Charlotte after a 9 year separation, while earnestly admitting that “his high school sweetheart, his first love and his first heartbreak” will always have his heart.
Charlotte’s energy and fearlessness beautifully contrasts with her sensitivity, the ache for a family and belonging.
I love the characters’ goodness and kindness and how Macon is so sure about his feelings, almost resigned to loving the heroine no matter what, and there’s a softness about him, too, which is very appealing in such a large man.
There’s also a heartwarming small town setting (Last Stand, Texas), lovely relatives and friends, a matchmaking grandma, two little girls smitten with their uncle Macon and a dog named Fern.

CHRISTMAS FLOWERS delivers a second chance at love for Charlotte and Macon in the second story of the Draegers of Last Stand, Texas series. Macon has loved Charlotte it seems like forever, even an almost decade long absence hasn’t changed those feelings. For now, Charlotte is back in town tending to her grandmother’s flower shop while she takes a well-deserved break. Life in the fast lane, traveling the world was Charlotte’s dream come true, yet with the changes at work and the temptation of a slower life, perhaps with Macon, has Charlotte rethinking that globe-trotting dream that once meant everything to her.

I had such fun with CHRISTMAS FLOWERS. Watching Macon and Charlotte reconnect and slowly fall into the kind of love that stays, that can last a lifetime was a sweet Christmas treat. They had issues to deal with, of course, but as Charlotte begins to see Macon (and her small hometown) in a different light – when running to someone forever instead of running away to an unknown adventure becomes what her heart desires the pieces of their romance fall into place. If you love a really good second chance romance then this one is for you.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Tule Publishing. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This is a delightful second chance romance where high school sweethearts have the chance for adult love together, but only with the assistance of a matchmaking grandmother! It is a lovely story with great characters, lots of love and a heartwarming festive read. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the members of this close knit community and discovering just how Charlotte feels about returning and spending time with Macon again. They need to learn to trust each other with their hearts and work together if they are to have any chance in future but acknowledging how they feel to themselves will be hard enough to start with! Her dreams of travelling and his of staying home split them before, do they still have the same dreams or will love help them find a way for both of them to follow their dreams?

I was gifted a copy of this lovely festive romance, chose to read it and this is my honest review after doing so.

I loved Sweet on the Cowboy and I saved this book, Christmas Flowers to enjoy during the Christmas season. It was so wonderful getting to peek in on the lives of the Draegers as Macon finally got his forever with the girl he never stopped loving. Amy and Jilly were as cute as ever. Grammy was an awesome addition. The whole Draeger clan remains the best! All around this was a fantastic holiday read ❤️. Sasha Summers never disappoints!

This is a second chance romance. Macon and Charlotte were high school sweethearts. She left to travel the world and can live out of a suitcase. Macon never left home.

It’s a sweet book. The two of them are trying to navigate their renewed friendship and maybe more…

This is book two in the series but it can be read as a stand alone. I read book one. I enjoyed catching up with the characters in the first book.

Meant to be together

Lovely story of second chance love. Macon and Charlotte had been together as teenagers, then Charlotte had wanted to travel and Macon stayed in Last Stand. On her return to Last Stand Charlotte realised that she had missed the town and the people of Last Stand especially Macon. Finally they realised they were meant to be together.

Sasha Summers always writes a super sweet romance that you'll fall head first into and not resurface until it's over. Christmas Flowers was devoured in a single sitting and I loved it being set around the holidays. If you're looking for a sweet Christmas romance to escape into, you can't go wrong with this book!

This is Charlotte Kraus and Macon Draeger's story.
A white Christmas, in the Texas Hill Country, was a rarity. But it was magical, when it happened.
At least she was home, and not in some far-flung place on the other side of the world.
I’ll do what I can to keep you on the payroll.”
“Charlotte?” Jason Mahaffey asked. Right. Phone call, Charlotte. He can’t see me. “Yes. I will,” she answered, attempting not to stare at Macon… Or fidget and shift from foot to foot. Or be super awkward and look everywhere but at him.
Especially now that he was standing right in front of her.
Staring down at her, way down. She swallowed again but that lump didn’t budge.
Christmas Flowers by Sasha Summers is a 4 star book.

I received this arc in exchange for an honest review. This was the second book in the Draegers of Last Stand, Texas series. I previously read the first book so I was thrilled to read this one about Macon Draeger and his high school sweetheart, Charlotte, the one that got away. This was a sweet romance with some angst between the couple as both wonder if Charlotte will stay in Last Stand.

Charlotte had learned that her job as a traveling photo journalist was in jeopardy due to problems at her company. She also is thinking that after 9 years of going all over she’s ready to take a break. She had agreed to return to help in her grandma’s flower shop while she took a cruise before Christmas. Macon still is in love with Charlotte and would want her to return to Last Stand for good. Charlotte has some exciting plans to update the flower shop and sets out to accomplish the things she has seen during her travels around the globe. Unfortunately, the shop is old and there’s issues with its being a historical property and faulty wiring and other building issues. Macon as the fire chief has to enforce the code violations and issue fines to Charlotte. Her grandma suggests hiring a reliable company MD to fix the problems. It turns out it is Macon’s company and the two then spend a lot of time together.

Macon has been offered a really good job 2 hours away but he doesn’t want to take it if there’s a chance between him and Charlotte. This adds to the angst of what Charlotte plans to do too. All of the characters are very likable. It is cute knowing the grandma has played matchmaker. I really enjoyed the story, the characters and the Last Stand community. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Charlotte is coming home to help her grandmother for a little while and she knew her paper was being bought out by another company but what she didn't know was that she might not have a job. She decides she isn't going to worry about that until the time comes.

Grammy has decided to take a cruise so she has asked Charlotte to come home and run the flower shop and watch her little dog Fern for her while she is away. Charlotte does without question. She also decides to spruce up Grammy's flower shop while Grammy is gone. She starts making changes and doesn't know that she is going against historical codes. So Macon, her ex boyfriend, is the Fire Marshall and has to write the violations and issue them to Charlotte since he is the Fire Marshall.

Thoroughly enjoyed the book with all the matchmaker's hard at work. Loved Amy and Jilly. Loved the characters, the story line and was a little disappointed when the book ended. Not how it ended just the fact that I was now finished and leaving family and friends behind.

This book is perfect! Simply perfect. The Draeger’s and the town of Last Stand are probably my favorite creation of Sasha’s to date. While the first book served as an excellent “bible” so to speak of the family, and who’s who, this book ventured into the town of Last Stand and the wonderful people that call it home to tell the story of Macon and Charlotte. The town’s people are full of life (Mr. Harker is a personal favorite) and the historic Main Street is like stepping into a Hallmark movie. This super sweet romance has it all - love for both old and young, family, community and kittens! On a side note, I am a huge cat lover and I love Sasha for having kittens in this book! I also am so glad she made time to assure us that all was well with Lam and Gwen. And the girls, Jilly and Amy, just make the perfect bow on this delightful Christmas story. I know Kolton’s story is probably next (and I would love to see it go a certain way, for the record) but I really want a happy ending for Tabby as well. I cannot wait for my next visit to Last Stand! FIVE STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Christmas Flowers is just the perfect Christmas romance if you love sweet small town contemporaries, and I do. ‘The story is set in Last Stand, Texas, which is becoming one of my favourite country towns. This is a second chance at love story for photojournalist Charlotte Krauss and Macon Draeger, the man she never quite stopped loving when she left the town to pursue her career. These two are utterly endearing characters, and they’re joined by a cast of utterly endearing characters starting with three year-old twins Jilly and Amy. Throw in Macon’s meddlesome family and Charlotte’s matchmaking grandmother Edda Mae and you have the makings of a perfect small town romance with all the trimmings that go with family and people who care about you. This book made me smile so many times. It really is just perfect Christmas reading!

3.5 Stars A sweet heartwarming Christmas read with a matchmaking grandma, her dog, busy bodies in town and family. Macon was a hometown kind of guy and everyone loved him. Charlotte was his high school love that he let go to fulfill her dreams. She was like a butterfly needing to spread her wings and fly. Her job taking her all over the world. Charlotte comes back to help run her grandmother’s flower shop while she goes on a vacation. Never imaging a possible second chance at love with Macon. Will she settle down in this small town and stay? Overall it was a pretty good read. Though there is no passion, sparks, fire etc... between the characters which made the story a let down for me. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from Tule Publishing.

Charlotte left Last Stand to follow her dreams of taking her photography around the world. Now her job is up in the air and her grandma has asked her to come home to run her flower shop while she is on vacation. Needing to regroup and more than happy to help, Charlotte comes home. Macon is the one that Charlotte left behind for her career. He has never let anyone in the way he did with Charlotte. Now she is back and he can't seem to stay away from her. For him it is time to move on. Charlotte never stays for long and he wants a family. Now he has to decide between moving on or trying to win Charlotte over. With a little help from Charlotte's matchmaking grandmother he just might have a chance. Great second chance story.

Christmas Flowers by Sasha Summers is a sweet Christmas romance which a strong second chance theme. It has one of the nicest hero ever in Macon. The saying, “Nice guys finish last” may be how he feels when it comes to Charlotte. She returns home after globe trotting because of her work to find that he is indeed still waiting for her.
I really couldn’t see how this gypsy woman was going to be happy in the long term with this family man but Ms. Summers works her magic on them. Well written plot in the Last Stand, Texas setting it is an enjoyable story with a satisfying happy ending, just like one should have at Christmas or really anytime.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I'm always a sucker for Christmas romances and this is a good one. This is Book 2 in the Draegers of Last Stand, Texas. It can be read as a stand alone story. Ms. Summers has written several romance series. Charlotte has returned to Last Stand to run her grandmother's flower shop for a couple of weeks but discovers she loves her hometown. She has always been a wandering soul and is surprised she is happy staying in one place. Macon has loved Charlotte since childhood and is happy to help her renovate the flower shop in hopes she will stay in town. A nice romance with good characters and a lovable mutt. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

A very sweet Christmas small town story. Charlotte and Macon were sweethearts and thought to be together forever but Charlotte wasn't ready to settle down. She had so many desires to see more of the world than her town. She goes off to pursue her dreams but comes back when her grandmother asks her to watch her flower shop so she can go on vacation. Being back in town, seeing Macon again and having a matchmaking grandmother makes Charlotte rethink what she wants out of life. Lets not forget grandma's dog. A cute warm story
