Jamie: I screwed up. I can’t seem to get it right when it comes to women. It’s the curse of the Hartwell family ancestry. Something is hidden in our DNA that precludes us to romantic disasters. I trusted my heart to someone once, but never again.
Olivia: My mother told me a mistake in her past had ruined her life, her career. I wondered if I was that mistake? I could just ask her but instead I shy away from relationships. I’m not following my mother’s footsteps. Who needs love anyway?

Book three of the Hartwell Brothers series brings Jamie and Olivia's story. The author once again brings strong characters and weaves a page turning , emotional and sweet and steamy romance. She does a fantastic job pulling out all the feels with detailed and vividly painted scenes. I loved reading their story and seeing past characters. I would recommend this book/series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This is the third book in a four part series about the Hartwell Brothers. And while you could read this book as a standalone title, I strongly suggest you read Keith (Book 1) and Matt (Book 2) before you take the plunge. Although it doesn’t directly link with this title, and nor would it diminish your reading experience of this book, you would understand the family dynamics better and also know more about the developing story around their grandparents Alice and Matthias.
So this book focuses on third brother, Jameson Hartwell, better known as Jamie. One thing that is instantly clear about Jamie is that he’s warm, friendly, and incredibly likeable. An accomplished author, he’s not one for using his families wealth and status to get him where he wants to be. Establishing his own career, he’s earning his fortune in his own right. Of course, their family name carries a lot weight, especially around his home town of Boston - but he doesn’t use it to his advantage unless absolutely necessary.
His writing career is immensely successful and he’s built himself a solid following through his series of children’s books - but he now wants to diversify and move his writing in a different direction but he lacks confidence in his abilities and is constantly looking for reassurance. Up until now, that reassurance has always come from his family and his trusted publisher and editor, Webster… but when his editor retires he finds himself under his beautiful, smart and diligent replacement… Dr. Olivia Beale… and he’s under her in more than one way!
Together, Olivia and Jamie are so hot that they are positively combustible but with Olivia’s poorly contrived understanding of relationships, largely thanks to her overbearing, condescending, career-obsessed mother - all Olivia knows how to do is push people away.
Jamie’s romantic experience isn’t much better and due to being hurt in the past, he’s convinced himself that love is not for him. But, there’s something about Livvy that keeps him going back for more. He can’t help it. Even though he knows it will end up with either one of them leaving before dawn, he can’t keep her out of his mind. Or his bed.
Sadly for Jamie however, Livvy is running scared. Citing a need to keep things professional between them, Jamie is heartbroken and perplexed at Livvy’s sudden refusal to see him. Only when unexpected news comes in the form of a 1951 news article does he dare to go back and seek Livvy’s advice. Will she give him the time of day? Or, will she continue to listen to the harsh words of her mother and push him away?
I did love this book and I absolutely adore Jamie. He is simply gorgeous is every possible way. I spent much of this book practically screaming at Livvy for letting him go. There are however, a few things that rankled a bit.
Not for saying that this is a book about the relationship between a writer and their editor, the editing on this particular book is not quite as good as it should be. There are a lot of mistakes. Grammatical and plot wise, including her mothers name changing to Virginia at 78% in. Some of the sentence structure and language was difficult to read and I found myself having to reread quite a few sentences in order for them to make sense. In truth, it felt ‘rushed’. Don’t get me wrong, the story and very steamy sex scenes were great but it just missed something. And once again… I would love an epilogue. I want to know more about what happens to Livvy and Jamie.
I’m looking forward to reading the final instalment to find out what the big family secret is, and I’m hoping it ties up all the brothers stories.
Jameson is the third Hartwell son and a very successful author. He has written a fictional children’s series that is imaginative and well loved. After completing the last book in his contract, Jamie has been playing around with the idea of writing a historical fiction book based loosely on his own family history. He’s been researching using the internet and genealogy sites, really getting his teeth into it and his idea is going from strength to strength. After being hurt badly during college, he doesn’t do relationships. He hooks up occasionally and when he meets a stunning young woman in the bar of a local hotel, one thing leads to another. Olivia is a successful editor working for a prominent publishing house in Boston. As her mentor is getting ready to retire, he has been gradually transferring his writers over to her. After a strict and cold upbringing from a mother than has stressed that men are a distraction and careers come first, Olivia has avoided relationships. She likes to occasionally hookup and when she meets a gorgeous guy in a local the bar she has gone to, they share a passionate night together. But come Monday morning and her gorgeous hookup turns out to be one of the publishing houses successful authors and she is about to become his editor. Jamie and Olivia are drawn to each other and have an explosive chemistry, but Olivia is constantly putting the brakes on. Jamie can feel himself getting more drawn in and attached to her but she is always pulling away from him. This is another well written, interesting and enjoyable book in the series with new characters and the family members that are becoming like old friends. Jamie and Olivia’s state of relationship that keeps you guessing and the pages turning. Brilliant!

This is the story of Jamie and Olivia (Liv). I strongly recommend reading the books in this series in order so you know the entire story. There's a big build up side story that's been unfolding and the climax is so close (even if it is predictable).
There is a quote from this story that pretty much sums up why I relate to Liv so much. "There were some women who thought diamonds were a girl's best friend, but they were totally wrong. Caffeine was a girl's best friend." So basically between her caffeine addiction and her love of books she's one of the most relatable characters I've ever read.
We all have our own pasts and sometimes we carry the experiences with us for a long, long time. This happens to be the case for both our main characters here. Jamie has been burned before and Liv has grown up knowing her mother regretted having her. It's a wonderful moment when these two realize they aren't there to try and make others happy, or to live their lives how someone else thinks they should. What's the point of living if you can't be happy? I love the line that Jamie treads so perfectly between becoming a dominant alpha and deferring to Liv and what she's asking for. There's some extremely combustible chemistry in this story so be prepared to get very hot under the collar.

The author and his new editor.........what could go wrong here?
JAMIE is the third book in The Hartwell Brothers series and is the story about Jamie and Olivia. This series should be read in order as the character's stories start in previous books and then they get their own. This is a story that has drama, conflict, mystery, love and a lot of hot and sexy chemistry between the characters. He is an established author and she is his new editor. So when they meet the first time let's just say they are both surprised. It seems they had a very enjoyable and satisfying one night stand with no names exchanged. Now here they are facing each other and having to work together. Besides this they each have a lot of baggage they drag with them so it is not going to be easy to get to a HEA if they even want to try.
This is s well written book with an interesting story-line that had it all. The characters were nicely developed and had emotion, flaws and find their own happiness. I enjoyed reading Jamie and Olivia's story.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This is the story of Jamie & Olivia. They meet up one night in a bar, instant attraction between them. They don't know each other's name or anything about each other. Jamie is a writer and Olivia works at his publishing company as an editor. Olivia's boss is about to retire and she is taking his place. So now, she is Jamie's editor. They meet in a meeting for an introduction to each other by Olivia's boss who is retiring. Surprise, surprise, They both are shocked who the other one is. From there it's slow going personally. No strings. They also have a professional relationship. On and off this went, until a realization gripped Olivia, and she realizes that what her mother had drummed into her all her life, she didn't want for herself. Other things happen in this story, and things come to light on Jamie's end. There is a cliffhanger about one of his family. I am in anticipation of what happens to that person. I love M.S. Parker's writing. It holds your attention to the fullest. I can't wait for Book 4.
Once again we are with the Hartwell brothers and this time it is author Janie's story. As with the previous books it flows well keeps you engaged and is just great fun to read
Jamie seems to be a disaster at relationships it seems that no matter how hard he tries they all turn into disasters just like the others in his family but recently his brothers have found the perfect woman for them but he doesn't think he ever will. Then he meets the perfect woman at a bar and the nest thing is that Olivia has no idea who he is she doesn't see the famous children's book author she just sees him Things get complicated though when it turns out she is the one who will be editing his latest book. He has his hang ups about relationships and she has a mother who says she made a mistake in life a mistake that Olivia thinks she may be. Can two damaged souls find salvation in one another You will have to read to see
The third part of the Hartwell brothers. Jamie has little to do with the foundation and leads his life as a writer of children's books. He has a onenight stand and can't get her out of his head. The next day he meets her again ... she is his new publicer. Olivia grew up with a mother who cares more about her career than anything else in life. She also conveys this to Olivia, who is therefore struggling to build a relationship. Even though they both try to avoid calling what they have a relationship, they cannot live without each other. Each book starts and ends with the story of Matt and Alice, the grandparents of the Hartwell brothers. That addition also makes you want to read what happens next. In this book, Jamie discovers that his grandparents had eloped Great story, hot scenes, the other brothers passing by. All in all ....... pending part 4
I have obtained a copy of this book through Booksprout and voluntarily and happily leave my review
Hot and excellent Another excellent book in this series, which remains fascinating and always well written. I like that at the beginning of each book, there is a little bit of the story of grandparents, Matthias and Alice, since the beginning of the series. In this part, elements from the past appear to be important for the future (for the next and last book in the series in particular). This opus is centered on Jamie who is a writer and who has a very hot and anonymous night with Olivia which he then discovers as being his new editor. I adored this couple who tries not to have a relationship but who cannot help but be attracted to each other. But if Jamie slowly questions himself, Olivia having had a life without family love, completely opposes to any idea of romance I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Jamie is the next Hartwell brother to lose his heart❣️Olivia and Jamie meet one night at a bar and find themselves in a hotel, when one thing leads to another😍 Unbeknownst to them both, their lives are more intertwined than they know.
I loved this story and how it shows some insight into an author’s mind and process. I also loved the steamy scenes and how both characters overcame their issues to find their HEA, and how there are essentially two stories taking place...one in the present and one in the past🥰 There was one loose end but I’m assuming this will follow through into the next and final brother’s story, Shawn.
I received an advanced copy via Booksprout and I voluntarily leave my honest review and am geared up to find it how it all ends❤️
What a story of mystery and drama with sweet and slow love. It is extremely well written and has beautiful characters. It was wonderful to see some of the characters from the other stories. Jamie and Olivia are so incredibly sweet with each other. They have a strong chemistry that is felt throughout the story. I loved Jamie's protective attitude and where is was dominant at times. Olivia was sweet, caring, intelligent, and at times a bit feisty. It is a story that is a must read!!!!!!

Jamie and Olivia were amazing and they were explosive. I loved how the author intertwined everyone from the other books into their story. They each have baggage, he feels cursed with women, nothing ever works out and Olivia feels that she was the mistake that ruined everything for her mother. Jamie has a dominant side whereas Olivia is kind, and sweet, put these two together and you are bound to have sparks. Great read, can’t wait for the next book in the series. I found this book on BookSprout.
Jamie is a famous author and had a romantic disaster and believes never again.Oliver mother has always insisted that education was above everything she was not pleased that’s Oliver has taken a job in publishing house. That is where she meets Jamie for the second time, the attraction was there for both of them neither wanted this but eventually they sorted their feelings out.Through the three books Alice their Grandmother has had a few chapters so the last book should make for interesting reading when all the stories come together
Wow! Romance and raw feelings wrapped into this book had me on the edge. I loved the banter between Jamie and Olivia. Families shape people more than we realize and I absolutely loved the dynamics portrayed in this book.
MS Parker has me going crazy because this is the third book in the series and I’m not a patient woman. I need the final book, Shawn. However, it doesn’t come out for another few weeks!
Well written and kept me engaged. An outstanding read!
Book three, what a book, and it left me wanting more.
Jamie and Oliva story was great, this is the third book in the series and the other two books are a must read before this one as the first and last chapters are the back story of the Hartwell grandparents and to be honest their story is what keeps me hooked. Don't get me wrong Jamie and Oliva's story was very well written and loved seeing them meet for the first time and then meeting again for the first time with different roles than the night they first met. Watching them fall into their attraction and trying to fight it due to their professional relationship was beautiful.
Another great story by M.S. Parker, that had me captivated from the beginning!
This story is Jamie and Olivia's. They meet in a bar and the sparks fly. You just never know what the future holds for you, but for sure, it has a sense of humor. Because Jamie and Liv meet again!
Jamie and Liv's story was very different, in the fact that he's an author and she's an editor. It wasn't your typical cookie cutter story, which made me love it all that more!
Glad to finally know that Matt and Alice are the Hartwell Grandparents. Anyway, surprised to see that Olivia was the one to reject Jamie, it's usually the other way around. Healing hurts from pain by loving someone is great. Since there wasn't an epilogue, I'll have to wait until book 4 to see what happens to Jamie and Olivia. However, this was a good book about the four Hartwell brothers.
I loved Jamie. The book and the character. Jamie has written a mass of children's books and has an idea to write historical fiction based on his family tree. Now he has to convince his new editor. Liv's boss is retiring and she's taking over his position as editor. Meeting one of her author's isn't an issue until she realizes it's the same guy she had a one night stand with. The writing is great and the storyline flows seamlessly. Told in both Jamie and Liv's POV. Can be read as a standalone.
‘Jamie’ is the third book in The Hartwell Brothers series. It is really a wonderful read!
Jamie is an author of children’s books…usually. He has finished the last one in his latest series. Now he’s thinking of going in a different direction. Olivia is the newest and youngest editor at the publishing house where she has been apprenticing for the last two years.
They each have said they didn’t want any entanglements but how long will they hold out?
ARC review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Jameson Hartwell is a author and Dr Olivia Beal works at harbor house publishing these two meet the night before they knew who each other are. This story has him looking to write about family and finds out stuff he may not want to know and she learning how to be happy. Awesome story
This is such a great series. I love the way the brothers stories are interwoven with the past. Jamie and Liv are great characters and I fell in love with them so quickly it was crazy. I can't wait for the final book as this one was left on a bit of a cliff hanger! Highly recommended!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Loved this book. This is the 3rd book on The Hartwell Brothers series. This is about Jamie and his writing books that lead him to a new editor. I love how the author had the previous characters into this one. It is a great read that will keep you interested. Looking forward to reading more from M.S. Parker
Book three in The Hartwell Brothers series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Jameson Hartwell and Olivia Beal's story mainly but you also get an update on the the other people from the preceding books. That was some ending. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was my least favorite be in the series. Olivia was brought up by an academic parent who was more book smart than maternal. Whereas Jamie was brought u a family who was very nurturing. Alice story is coming together but leaving me hanging as to what is going on with her/health.
I loved it and I just want to read the stories of the other three brothers. The chemestry between Jamie and Liv is just out of everything! Instant combustion! The story is very well written, the evolution of the characters is just perfect. Loved it!
When I think it can't get any better,Jamie comes along! Baggage and self doubt shape who we are as a person.. Most times we allow them to control us ina bad way. Jamie and Olivia are proof that love can overcome!
I must say I didn’t like the ending as much as I have for the past books but it was still a great read. I’m glad there is another book coming out soon!!! This is a must read
Keith was a author of children books. Olivia was his editor. They had rough time with love growing up. They were infatuated with Rach other but didn't want to admit it. Ever time they were alone, they ended up in bed.
I really enjoyed Jamie & Olivia’s story. Their chemistry is off the charts hot. From the moment I started I didn’t want too put my kindle down. I can’t wait for Shawn’s book next.
