This was such a sweet book. I enjoyed the the small town feel with the added bonus of the Christmas holidays making Under The Mistletoe an even more enjoyable read. I have never read a book from this author that I didn't enjoy.

Sweet and sexy with a huge helping of Christmas! Just a touch of angst and a beautiful happily-ever-after!

Spencer is not a relationship guy. But this is not because he is against one. Spencer just hasn't found a woman he can honestly see himself spending the rest of his life with. But all that changes once he meets Georgie Durrant. But unfortunately, Georgie is not looking for a relationship right now. Especially since she recently came out of one that left her wary of dating again so soon. I don't want to go into details so I'll just tell you that while their chemistry is scorching from nearly the first moments they meet, Spencer and Georgie's relationship moves slowly from friends and co-workers to something sweet and romantic. I did not mind that it took a while for Spencer and Georgie to become a couple. I think if it happened too quickly, it would not have been believable. That said, Georgie did frustrate me a bit from time to time. There were times, I didn't understand her so well. But that said, I recommend this book as one you will enjoy. Especially if you are a fan of small towns and Christmas.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it :)

We head back to Last Stand, TX again in Under the Mistletoe and what a wonderful trip back it was indeed. You might be familiar with the McBride family in Last Stand, they are doctors, paramedic, and yes some work with horses. In this book we get to know up close and personal Spencer who works as a firefighter/paramedic and Georgie Durant a newly arrived paramedic in town. They met under the mistletoe but things don't happen like Spencer would like them too right away in spite of nature's kissing blessing. So many wonderful things in this book had me smiling and tearing up at times.
Christmas in Last Stand oh yes Santa stop here.

What a beautiful story this is! Nothing says happy ever after like a Christmas story, and this one definitely fits the definition on that! The author has crafted a wonderful tale that will warm your heart from start to finish. The pace is perfect and will keep you guessing throughout.
Spencer is a carefree, almost 30 year old man, who gives so much more than he takes. He's one of those "one of a kind" guys who actually cares about his family and community. And, he loves his jobs! Georgie if fresh out of a long-term relationship that was going nowhere, and even though she still thinks her ex is a great guy, he's just not the one for her. Now, Spencer though, he's almost too good to be true, and she wonders why he's not already married. And of course, after having worked with her ex, she's pretty skittish about getting into another relationship with a co-worker, so Spencer simply has to be "hands-off", at least for now!
Be prepared to be taken away on the whirlwind affair of Spencer and Georgie, as they test the waters of love!
I absolutely loved this book!

Fun Holiday HEA Read

Firefighter/Paramedic Spencer and new to the small town of Last Stand Paramedic Georgie engage in the dance of getting to know each other yet trying not to get involved romantically. But as they spend time together, their attraction grows. A fun holiday HEA read.

Meant to be together

What a lovely story of Spencer and Georgie meeting and know they were meant to be together. It was not that easy as Georgia was adamant that she would resist Spencer. Spencer just took his time wooing Georgie until they both confessed their true feelings of love.

Mistletoe Romance

She stood under the mistletoe 5 times tonight but still would not kiss him. Finally she did and he was gone. She wouldn't date him as they ended up working together. This is a cute small town romance that's very well written. A good read.

This is Georgie Durant and Spencer McBride's story.
Spencer McBride loved Christmas. He especially loved Christmas in Last Stand, Texas. He loved the whole season. The parties, the food and drink, the Christmas trees, the decorations, Santa and his elves, the Christmas market, Christmas carols, presents, mistletoe. If it had to do with Christmas, Spencer loved it.
It wasn’t a secret. Everyone who knew Spencer knew he loved Christmas.
The tree-trimming party was an open house at the Corbyn Mansion, and took place every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to start off the season. Everyone in town was invited. Trees for people to decorate, each with a different theme, were placed in every room on the ground floor. The whole place was lit up like a—well, a Christmas tree. Emma, Delilah and Amelia Corbyn really knew how to throw a party. Delicious cookies and beverages, alcoholic and non, were set on tables in each room. Since Delilah Corbyn was the chef who owned Dragonfly restaurant, the food was always great.
As he left the room someone called his name and said hello. He waved, and looking back over his shoulder, he ran smack into a woman in the doorway. He tried to grab her to steady her, but missed.
“Oh, crap,” the redhead said, wiping at her dress ineffectually. He realized her glass of wine was now empty.
“Totally my fault,” he said. “I hope that wasn’t red wine.”
Looking down, she said, “No, it’s white. Or it was. Thank goodness.”
Her voice was low-pitched, sweet and warm, a mix of bourbon and honey. Spencer snatched several napkins from a passing waiter. “I’m really sorry. I’ll pay for the dry cleaner.”
Under the Mistletoe by Eve Gaddy is a 4 star book.

UNDER THE MISTLETOE is the third story in the Heart of Texas series which is part of the Last Stand, Texas group of series. I love connected series, they give me a wider sense of community plus I enjoy seeing characters from other series just show up now and then – so, yeah, I am a huge Last Stand, Texas fan.

This time around we get Spencer McBride’s story with Georgie Durant, a newcomer to town as well as a co-worker. Spencer is one of the good guys, he’s loved within the community, really good at his job, never met a stranger and is always willing to give a helping hand. On the surface, it may look like he’s a heartbreaker since long term relationships have not been his habit – truth is, Spencer simply hasn’t found the woman he can see himself with for the rest of their lives. Until Georgie. Now convincing her that taking a chance on him, even though they work together, is going to be intriguing, and sometimes, frustrating endeavor yet Spencer is definitely up to that challenge. Georgie’s been burned badly by her past and she’s not about to just jump into another co-worker’s arms – even though it’s tempting like wrapped presents under the tree. Watching them come together, deal with a few bumps in their road to happiness was a charming, entertaining, and simply fun adventure. I’ll say this about Spencer, he is stubborn especially when mistletoe is involved.

I had such fun returning to Last Stand, Texas with this couple. If you’re in the mood for a really good story, with a couple you’ll be rooting for, and lots of mistletoe then you’ll want to get your hands on UNDER THE MISTLETOE right now.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Tule Publishing. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Mistletoe does mean you have to kiss but it doesn’t mean you have to actually fall in love….

Welcome back to Last Stand, Texas, and the wonderful created by the authors of Tule Publishing. This book is all about Spencer McBride who just happens to be a firefighter and a paramedic in addition to being drop dead gorgeous.

Georgie Durant has just moved to Last Stand from a larger city to take a position as a paramedic. After having had some issues with an ex who also worked in the same department as she did, Georgie has taken very firm stand on no workplace dating.

When Georgie first meets Spencer, it is at the annual Last Stand Christmas party and every time she finds herself near Spencer, mistletoe seems to be hanging above them. Spencer and Georgie have an instant attraction to each other and yes, they do end up kissing under the mistletoe at the party.

But given that they work together, Spencer does his best to honor Georgie’s wishes about not dating a coworker. But the sparks are rather strong between these two, as in lighting strike sparks. (Yes, a lighting strike is a part of one of the events that helps change Georgie’s mind.)

But as Georgie and Spencer spend more time together and get to know each other, their feelings for each other grow. And most importantly, Georgie is realizing that she can date a coworker like Spencer.

And for the historical note, kissing under a sprig of mistletoe dates back to ancient Greece and the festival of Saturnalia. Mistletoe has also long been associated with fertility so became a part of the marriage ceremony. According to one history site, during the Roman era, enemies would reconcile their differences under the mistletoe since it also represented peace.

I did receive a copy of this book in advance from the publisher in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

I received this arc in exchange for an honest review. This is the third book in the series about the McBride brothers of Lat Stand Texas. This book is bout Spencer who is a paramedic and firefighter. He is at a neighbors very festive annual Christmas party and sees a new woman to the town. He is very taken by her and keeps finding her under a sprig of mistletoe. He finally gets a kiss the 5th time he runs into her.Her name is Georgie and she has recently moved to town from Houston. We later learn she is also a paramedic and will be working with Spencer. They both notice some chemistry but she repeatedly tells him they can’t date because she won’t date a coworker. She is comparing him to her ex who she worked with, who wouldn’t commit so she broke it off. Then working together was awkward.

Spencer and Georgie both end up spearheading the toy drive committee. She sees how caring and devoted he is. Then they meet an older gentleman and he reminds Spencer about their weekly dominoes game. He is still trying to win her over. They work as partners for the first time and end up 45 minutes out of town to treat an injured Jethro Caldwell. They end up having a special kiss on the road back to town after they get the ambulance out of a ditch. Spencer and Georgie spend time together passing out flyers for the toy drive; going Christmas shopping in Whiskey River and working their job. She has second thoughts about her rule about dating the coworker as she sees what a compassionate and dependable guy he is. Spencer is known as a playboy type but with a lot of heart. It is a terrific read watching what happens to help Georgie and Spencer make a decision about what to do about a relationship. Another 5 star book for Eve.

Set in Last Stand, Texas, Under the Mistletoe is a light and easy read. This story is a nice mix of sweet and sexy and pairs firefighter and paramedic Spencer McBride with Georgie Durant, who’s just moved to Last Stand from Houston after breaking up with her boyfriend, also a paramedic. After that relationship, Georgie has sworn not to date coworkers and at least initially she resists the instant pull she feels whenever she’s with Spencer, which happens to be frequently in the first chapter or so as he manages to meet up with her again and again under sprigs of mistletoe.
I love Spencer’s passion for all things Christmas. He’s an all round good guy and it’s great to see him just naturally stepping up to the plate to help out and enjoying it. I loved his constant self talk and the fact that despite wanting to go where he probably shouldn’t, his sub conscience put on the brakes: “… sometimes his subconscience was irritating as shit.”
Georgie clearly has trust issues when it comes to men and at times she’s almost skittish about entering into a relationship with Spencer. I loved that she was able to work with him and to do things as friends, even when half of her wanted to jump his bones and the other half was telling her to pull back and protect herself from the possibility of having her heart broken.
The story has a nice sub plot running through it as the people of Last Stand pull together to decorate the town and to participate in a toy run in order to provide gifts for those less fortunate children in the community. This is just such a typically small town thing to do and I really identified with it. Overall this story is about hope and trust and the giving spirit that is what Christmas should be all about.

Spencer and Georgie’s love story in Under the Mistletoe by Eve Gaddy, book three in her Heart of Texas series, was a wonderful, sexy, emotional and enjoyable tale. Firefighter and paramedic Spencer McBride enjoys being a bachelor and not getting serious about anyone. That is until he physically runs into newcomer Georgie, under the mistletoe; not once, not twice, but five times. Paramedic Georgie Durant moved to Last Stand, Texas for a fresh start after the man she gave her heart to, and worked with, wouldn’t commit. Although Georgie is tempted by Spencer, she’s afraid of his easy charm and getting involved in a workplace relationship; especially after her last one. As Spencer and Georgie spend time together working on the Toy Drive and experiencing Christmas in Last Stand, she begins to thaw as she sees his dedication and devotion to the people he helps and the town he loves. Georgie struggles with the possibility that Spencer could be different than her ex. Spencer knows he wants Georgie and now he needs to prove to her that she can trust him and his feelings. Now if he can only convince her to take a chance on him.

Ms. Gaddy wrote a wonderful and sexy story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, lots of mistletoe, and endearing characters giving Spencer and Georgie a chance to discover they were meant for to be together forever. I highly recommend Under the Mistletoe to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.

Eve Gaddy is one of my ‘go to’ authors whenever I want a heartwarming romance with great characters, plenty of twists and a HEA – and this is an excellent example of just such a read.

They’d never met, but their eyes met across a festive party and then they literally bumped into each other not once or twice but five times under the mistletoe. Initially paramedic Georgie Durant refuses to let firefighter and paramedic Spencer McBride kiss her – until that fifth ocassion. That’s when they both knew this was more than lust but he has a reputation for not being committed to a relationship which is exactly why she broke up with her ex before moving to Last Stand, Texas. She also won’t date a co-worker. With everything against their relationship, can he win her round enough to give him a chance?

This is another story about this delightful Texan family and community. As the two work together on community projects, can Spencer start to win her heart enough for her to give their romance a chance? A lovely festive read, this story has great characters, a strong sense of family and lots of love. However, past experiences, the visit of her ex and his dedication to help others will all cause unexpected problems. You’ll just have to read it for yourself to discover how they are resolved!

I was gifted a copy of this book by the publishers and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I also purchased a copy.

This was a delightful story. The characters were wonderful and the story was well written. I adored seeing prior characters making appearances.

Georgie Durant moves to Last Stand, Texas after her last boyfriend and fellow paramedic didn't want to move the relationship forward. He didn't want to commit. After being together 2 years, Georgie figured it was time to at least move in together. The boyfriend didn't want to move forward so she broke up with him. Not being able to work with him, she gets a job at the fire department in Last Stand. After being in town for a week, she goes to a Christmas party with some co-workers. It is there that she runs into Spencer McBride, a fellow firefighter/paramedic under the mistletoe.

The rest of the road to Spencer and Georgie's HEA was one that was beautifully done. I so loved reading the story from the dual POV format. Seeing into Georgie's thoughts and how she felt about her last relationship (especially since it was guiding her present relationship with Spencer) was a wonderful thing.

There was a sexy read so I would only highly recommend this story to someone over the age of 18. If you love a firefighter/paramedic romance, then you need to read this one. While this is a part of a series, this book can be read as a stand-alone.

This is Heart of Texas book #3. It is Georgie and Spencer's story.

"Can a kiss under the mistletoe be the beginning of a beautiful relationship?"

Spencer McBride is a firefighter and paramedic. He hasn't been tempted to change his bachelor status. That is until he runs into Georgie who is new to town. He finds her under the mistletoe at a Christmas party.

Georgie is a paramedic who has moved to Last Stand, Texas for a fresh start. She gave her heart to a man who couldn't commit, and after he broke it, she left for good. She is intrigued by the handsome Spencer, but she isn't tempted to get into a workplace romance again. The pitfalls are too great even though his easy charm is appealing.

As they spend more time together working and planning the local charity toy drive, Georgie sees that Spencer is dedicated and devoted to all the people he helps. She begins to wonder if maybe Spencer is different after all.

As Georgie is sorting her feelings for Spencer, the man from her past comes into town trying to win her back. Spencer knows it is up to him to convince Georgie to take a chance again, but only with him.

I really enjoyed this story. It was fun seeing how Spencer was going to win Georgie's heart.

Spencer met Georgie at a Christmas party that had tons of mistletoe everywhere. Every time they ran
into each other she was standing under a piece of Mistletoe and didn't even know it. Spencer kept pointing it out and she said the kiss would never happen. After the fifth time of being caught under the mistletoe she agreed to the kiss. And Wow what a kiss it was. Neither one expected that

Georgie is the new paramedic they hired and Spencer is a paramedic and firefighter. She just left a relationship that didn't go as expected and she wasn't looking to start a new one.

Georgie has a rule about dating co-workers. She has decided after the last relationship didn't work out with a co-worker she wasn't going to do it again.

Spencer is a very good-looking, smart gentlemen. He invites Georgie to spend time with him promoting the toy drive the department is sponsoring so they are together alot doing that. They have shifts where they are working together, Christmas shopping that puts them together and they are just sharing in activities together but not dating.

Loved the book now I am in search of a Spencer for me.

The characters are fantastic with a great story line. Georgie and Spencer are both paramedics working at Last Stand Fire Department. Georgie is coming off a broken relationship did not date co-workers. Spencer is not a relationship person but he has not found a woman that he can settle down. They are working together for the annual Christmas children’s Toy gala and they get to know each other. Georgie comes to know what a fantastic person Spencer is. I loved both Georgie and Spencer’s character, they had so much chemistry and Georgie kept refusing to go out with Spencer, as he was her co-worker. It took someone from her past to walk back in for Georgie to realize that she wanted Spencer in her life. It was well written and interesting.

While I like all of this series, Under the Mistletoe by Eve Gaddy may be my favorite of her Heart of Texas Series. It is book three in the series but has such wonderful characters in Spencer and Georgie. I enjoyed the Christmas setting and the way that these two meet but also visiting Last Stand, my favorite fictional Texas town.

Georgie has recently moved to the area so seeing the town through her eyes was enlightening as well as entertaining. Seeing the two of them develop their relationship while working on a worth while cause makes their romance believable. There is enough wariness on Georgie’s part and a bit of drama to keep the book interesting until the very end.

An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love just about anything written by Eve Gaddy, she’s got a way about telling a story & tugging on all the emotions while doing it. In Under the Mistletoe she has us rooting for firefighter/paramedic Spencer a popular bachelor trying to win a date with a beautiful woman he met under the mistletoe who also happens to work with him. Georgie is gun shy after a workplace romance ended & she’s not sure she wants to go through that again. It was sweet watching Spencer woo her & wear her down. I enjoyed all the colourful characters that live in Last Stand, who thought nothing of helping push Spencer & Georgie together. I hope there will be more of the Last Stand Texas series. Definitely recommend. I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Georgie has come to Last Stand for a fresh start after a failed relationship. The first time she meets Spencer is at a party, under the mistletoe and she refuses to play along. He is a stranger and her new co-worker. While they share an instant attraction Georgie does not date co-workers - been there, done that, been burned. When they work together on the annual toy drive she realizes that Spencer really is the all around good guy. What she thought might be an act is actually the kind of man Spencer really is. Spencer does not stop pursuing her because when you know it's right you just know. All he needs is for Georgie to break her own rule and give him a chance. This is the third book in the series. It is such a sweet and romantic story. You can't help but love Spencer. Great read!

A sweet read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Spencer is a guy that is almost too good to be true. Or at least that's what Georgie is thinking. It has a small town theme where he's loved by all, so dang freely helpful to others and loves the Christmas season. Spencer has never met anyone who made him want to give up the single status until he sees Georgie under the mistletoe. I laughed out loud at his persistence with it and him trying to get her to kiss him. Burned once Georgie is weary of relationships especially with coworkers. But he's determined to worm is way in her heart if only she will give him a chance. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from Tule Publishing.

This is a book that is enjoyable any time of year. For Spencer, it was almost at love at first sight. For Georgie, although she was attracted to Spencer, she refuses to date a co-worker. Their first kiss under the mistletoe was sizzling. Georgie can't believe how sweet Spencer is. As they co-host a toy drive and work together, Georgie starts to believe that Spencer is an incredible guy. I received a free copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I love Georgie and Spencer. It's very realistic that it takes a while for Georgie to trust Spencer. This is a delightful read. I enjoyed it very much.
