Lies among friends… Liza Lazarus’s devotion to the law is only eclipsed by her loyalty to her vigilante family. The tough, no-holds-barred, city detective crushes it on the outside, but on the inside, she’s losing a battle for her sanity and heart. Sensing lust makes her physically sick. It’s great for catching rapists and murderers, but for finding love? Impossible. Then a childhood friend comes crashing back into her life, and she finds the impossible isn’t so out of reach… if they can get past decades worth of lies between them.
Love among enemies… FBI Special Agent Joe Luciano has been in love with Liza since they were kids. The kind of soul-wrenching, heart-clobbering love that can send a man insane... except she only ever saw him as a friend. When a secret investigation brings him right into the Lazarus family war-zone, he learns they’re not as virtuous as he once believed. They’re the very criminals he’s been hunting. The more embroiled he becomes with Liza and her vigilante family, the more his black and white world crumbles until he’s forced to make an impossible choice… arrest her, or love her.
Betrayal among family… As a child, Despair Lazarus was forsaken by her family, and left to the mercy of the evil Syndicate. She became a brutal, heartless warrior, and the Lazarus family never forgave themselves. So when she finally comes knocking at their door, they welcome her with open arms, blind to the danger they’ve invited into their midst. With the Syndicate, old enemies, and the FBI closing in on her family’s secrets, Liza must learn to control her new deadly powers and piece together where the real danger lies… with her lover, her long-lost sister, or herself.

This one was on the shorter side, but I never felt the story was rushed or long. Liza and Joe gave out a lot of mixed signals that ruined the experience a bit for me, but I still liked learning about their childhood. Friends to lovers is not a favorite of mine, so I didn’t expect to fall in love with this book. I still ended up enjoying this one though.
My heart still hurts for Daisy and I hope she gets a little more happiness in the next two books. I’m excited to read Parker next!
I don't have much to say other than I loved it. The relationship between Liza and Joe was really beautiful, their bond deep and the chemistry strong. Joe has loved Liza all of his life while she saw him as a friend and he never felt good enough for her, no matter how much he raised the standards he set for himself. The truth tho is that Liza has loved him all of her life too, she just never realized before that's what that feeling was, she was young and she just knew he was the most important person in her life. Seeing them reunite and getting on the same page was captivating and I couldn't stop reading. Also the baseball with "I love you" written on it got to me...
She longed to go back to that simple time. To have nothing between them but clear, undiluted love. Because that’s what it was back then, she realized. Love. Only, she’d been too young to comprehend. He wasn’t some second choice; he was the first. Always had been.
“For the love of God, just stop and let me talk.” “There’s nothing you can say.” “I love you.” She physically jerked. Blinked. Silence. His heart hammered in his chest, rattling his ribs, but he pressed on. “I’ve always loved you, Liza. Always. Never stopped. Never will.”
“I can’t sleep without dreaming about you. I smell you, and I go weak at the knees. I see you, and I can’t function. I had to leave the city to become better and failed. I even tried to attempt a normal relationship to get you out of my head, but it never worked, and that’s because it’s always been you, wrapped around my heart.” He slid his gaze back to hers. “I love you, Liza Lazarus.”
Griffin is still my favorite character so his book his number 1 for me, then, because of how much I loved the romance in this one, Lust is now number 2 in my ranking of the series.
The over whole plot is moving and it's very interesting; next is Parker's turn, he is an arrogant pain in the ass and I'm curious to explore his character.
I had been waiting for this book for quite a while and I'm glad that I could finally get my hands on it. If you've read my reviews of the other books in the series, then you'd know that I'm obsessed with the two siblings - Liza and Parker and coincidentally these two are the last ones to find their mates among the Lazarus brood and get a book. Lol!😂
Anyway, Lust features Liza's story and after the ending of the previous book, we knew that Joe - her childhood best friend, was going to be her mate. But, she embodies the sin - lust and it's pretty much impossible to find someone who displays the qualities that could be the opposite of that(this was how the other siblings found their mates). So, Liza has never had much hope, to begin with, and as her condition with her sin-sensing gets worse day by day, she's resigned herself to a bleak ending. She's envious of her siblings who have found their happiness, but she doesn't know what to do to find hers. And just as she's going to give up her childhood bestie - Joe Luciano returns back to town. While he's working on a case that she isn't allowed to find out about, she also realizes that he's clearly avoiding her and this sets her off like a firecracker. But, only when she pushes his boundaries she realizes that he isn't the little boy that she knew anymore and he has changed in a lot of ways. This also makes her realize that she might have ignored certain feelings that she never knew about and it might end up changing their relationship in unprecedented ways.
Before I say anything else, let me just take a moment to appreciate Lana Pecherczyk's writing and the way she creates such awesome characters that are so different and unique in their own ways! Liza and Sloane might be the only two sisters among the group of Lazarus siblings, but they're completely different from each other and their childhood experiences have also been different. I loved seeing the tiny snippets from Liza and Joe's childhood and watching the bond that they had with each other transform into something that was stronger and more fulfilling.
When they were kids they were very close with each other and Joe had his set of family issues too, but they always had each other's backs. As she never sensed any lust in him, she had wrongly assumed that Joe was some kind of asexual guy who never felt desire, which led her to make some teasing comments, much to Joe's frustration. And the irony is that it was never liked that. Joe had always loved her, but due to her snide comments and interference from her brothers, he couldn't even express his feelings in an honest manner and was left to pine for her. (Can you smell the sweet scent of pine? Lol. Pining heroes are my fave, I'm telling ya!)
"Fate had brought him back to Cardinal City, back to her— his sweet poison, killing him softly. All he knew for certain was that he wouldn’t die without a proper taste. A banquet."
It was quite nice to see the changes in him and the increase in his confidence! The way they put aside their misunderstandings and communicated with each other was also amazing. Not only was the chemistry between them off the charts, but the amount of trust that they had in each other was equally awesome! Also, compared to other siblings, both Liza and Joe are more straightforward and like to play on the right side of the law. Since, Liza is a detective she likes to do things using the law, instead of vigilantism like the others. And I loved discovering all these characteristics that were hidden beneath the carefree facade that she puts up for everyone! Joe also unconditionally supported her while putting aside the FBI case that would investigate her family. These two are total couple goals!
It was also quite nice meeting the other family members and their mates again in this book. These bunch of siblings always have each other's back, even if they're constantly bickering and playing around. Additionally, they've also got an amazing set of parents, ready to give advice whenever they need it. The only sorry one among the bunch is Daisy(Despair) who was left behind in the lab when they were kids and she might be approaching them in a suspicious manner, but they still manage to put aside things as in the end she's still their sister. It was nice seeing things from her POV and she does manage to turn things around after her betrayal. I hope she gets her happy ending soon, but I know that I'll have to wait a while for that.
The next book in the series is going to be Parker's story and we got to find out about his mate at the end of this one, and can you tell how excited I am for my favorite Deadly Seven brother to get his book?! If you have read the previous books in the series don't miss out on reading Lust! And if you haven't come across this series yet, make sure to check it out as you'll definitely not be disappointed!

First off, any kind of synopsis would be pretty darn confusing at this point in the series but I’ll do the best I can.
This is a series about seven/eight siblings created in a lab and given very special powers, each one unique. There powers kind of mimic the deadly sins. They are grown now and though each one (five males, two females) has a “day” job, they are also superheroes. They had a major difference between them and stopped their superhero roles and the family almost broke up, early in the second book, they reconcile as superheroes. Each one gets their own book and this is the story of Liz or Lust, her superhero name. She’s a tough as nails cop in her day job. One feature of each superhero is they have a mate somewhere and when they meet each other, the mate tempers and calms the superhero and also a hidden talent is released.
Liz figures she doesn’t have, or will ever meet her mate. Because of her deadly sin, lust or any kind of physical intimacy makes her feel ill. But little does she know she’s already met her mate back when she was a child and he was her best friend Joe.
They were almost inseparable when they were young and both grew up and became cops. But the dynamics between them changed. Joe has always loved Liz but she had no idea and only saw him as a friend. He left and joined the FBI as it was too painful to be around her.
But things change when his superior sends him to outwardly help out in a serial killer investigation. But his real role is to get information on the deadly seven in order to put these vigilantes away. He’s devastatingly torn as he’s torn between Liz, the woman he loves and her brothers who were clear he would never be good enough for their sister when they were all young.
I first enter books into GoodReads as currently reading and sometimes give brief updates on how the book is going for me. My thoughts on this one are very glowing. This book has it all. Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, betrayal and incredible passion between Joe and Liz and torn loyalties between love and family.
This is another book I found very difficult to put down and I gobbled it up. I love Liz and her strong, kick ass ways and I also love Joe who has loved her all his life but his duty is to give up her and her close family.
I also said, though I try to read other books in between, I keep getting drawn back to this series and I’ve accepted that I need to read them all sequentially before I can move on. I have two more to go, the last sibling Parker or Pride and one more mysterious character we learn more about with each new book.
I’m completely addicted to these books and ver happily so.
Jam packed with action, Lust had a lot happening. The Syndicate is causing havoc, Daisy is up to something fishy, Liza is on edge with everyone because-besides her and Parker-they have paired up and are accessing new abilities. And then there is Joe…her childhood bestie. He is back under mysterious circumstances, leading an investigation she wasn’t invited to and Liza will be having none of that. However, is she really prepared for the consequences of her actions?
Lust has been hanging out on my kindle since her release date, but I held off reading Liza’s story because I knew I’d want to immediately dive in to Parker’s story and didn’t want to be left hanging. Lana’s endings have taught me well, lol!! The book was well worth the wait! The romance was the best surprise. Liza and Joe’s revelations revealed a deep, lovely layer of trust I didn’t even know I needed to read about! Liza was full of sooo many surprises, I gobbled up each reveal. I also liked the different perspective Joe brought to the table, especially in regards to the Lazarus family. All in all, great read and now on to Parker’s story….hopefully there’s some loose ends tied up for Daisy and the family!
Whaaa this book was really surprising, poor Liza she’s gone through so much and her relationship with Joe is just so amazing 🤩
After many years Joe is back as a Fed agent, he has known Liza for many years and has been in love with her since then. He learned how to control his desire, and to act as if nothing happened. Now investigating the ties between the Lazarus family and the Deadly Seven, he only wants to protect Liza from her own family, and take her away from all his, he knows that she cannot be part of the vigilantes' masquerade.
For Liza, Joe has always been a part of her, she only saw him as a friend as she couldn’t feel any lust coming from him - how could she know the answer hiding behind this fact. Joe is her mate and she made him suffer all these years without even knowing. Between trying to patch up her relationship, do her job as a police detective, protect her secret and her family, study her long-lost sister - while chasing a serial killer and waiting for the Syndicate to act. Liza and Joe have a lot of things to be aware of before even thinking about themself. Never believe that lust is only sexual, and that lust and love are one and the same - Liza learned this the hard way…
This book was way more intense than I thought, and with all the tension between Liza and Parker, we can feel that their relationship is bruised but I hope that Parker will learn to be a little less uptight and to trust his family. Lot of things are happening and we can feel the last straw of the series coming. Now I’m just really excited about Parker, I’m sure he’s gonna have his hands full with his mate !!
Since I read Sloth, I already conformed myself saying that nothing will be better… and here we have LUST. Seriously, I loved the couple, the characters, the development in the story, definitely it is the best book in this series so far. Liza Lazarus is the major badass in the family and her confidence and strength is incredible- even more when you see how she fights every time with her sin and contrabalance with her job. In contrast, Joe is the FBI agent who always loved Liza, but she never realized. Two people that had a story and are on opposite sides in law. Also, in this book we have more about Despair and I need to say: I already love her, and I can’t wait to see more about her.
Liza has never had a relationship. Crippling pain and engulfs her when she senses the sin of Lust. But when he childhood best friend comes back in to her life she finds herself wondering if he’s the one.
I’m always impressed with how fast the author hooks the reader in with these books. She is able to make you root for the characters within two or three chapters. Liza and Joe were a perfect friends to lovers story. I enjoyed how the characters realized that there are different ways to say I love you than just uttering that words. He was always there for her and she was always there for him.
As we learn more about the Syndicate and see our first glimpse of the Hildegard sisterhood, my mind keeps coming up with so many different scenarios. Are the sisters truly bad? Can they seven defeat a global threat? I can’t wait to see how Perfect Parker deals with his issue
I wasn't certain if this book would've worked for me. First was the trope Friends to Lovers, i'm not usually a fan of those and second was the sneak peak we had in Gluttony where i was afraid Liza would be dumb. Obviously just by the rating you can see how well the story went for me. Liza wasn't dumb after all, i could see why she didn't quite understand at first her circumstance and regarding the trope i think it was easy sailing for me because we had some backstory on their friendship and ultimately we didn't spend amounts of time pining for each other while being on the friend zone which is what annoys me about this trope. The way it was done was for me 😂.
I loved Joey aka Joe. He has a good head on his shoulders and the fact that he wanted Liza since they were kids did it for me. He was smart about stuff and discovered pretty quickly who the Lazarus family was and thank god for that cause i don't think i could've handled an oblivious FBI agent. Liza became jaded and hardened as time went by without finding her mate and the love that her siblings were finding. She had lost hope until Joey came back to town and they crossed paths again and things got heated between them. I very much loved the real Liza, the Liza that came through once she discovered her mate. I loved that she realized what she did wrong in the past to Joey and rectified it in a beautiful way once she got her head straight. She knew it was her last chance at getting right and she went for it. I loved that she trusted him and put her faith in him even when he himself wasn't sure of himself and what he should do. I know a lot happened with the crew and everything but i felt like at least another sexy scene between them was missing. She is Lust after all and we all know Joe felt it but we only got one full scene.
Now Daisy situation is giving me whiplash but not a bad way necessary. She does stuff that makes me really not like her but then we get glimpses of what she thinks and then i'm like "poor baby". Also the fact that the entire Lazarus family says she's one of the them and they leave no family behind doesn't help me at all. I'm in a pickle it seems 😅. That scene where Max is with her ( yes that one 🥺) was touching. Daisy tortured him but he still found the good in her and i just loved that. Finally Misha had her time! 🎉 Amari is out and about! The first "miracle" baby. I loved Wyatt's ( my squishy man 🥰) and the rest of the family's reaction.
Parker aka Pride put himself in a hell of a situation. I never thought his pride would take him that far... I mean i guess it was fear and not his pride but still. I can see how the Sisterhood series seed is being planted and i'm here for it. I do have a sneaking suspicion that Parker is gonna be a thorn on my side because he's so prideful and says stuff but then he loves deeply, he just doesn't show it very well cause Pride. I'm excited though .
An action-packed, fast-paced, romance novel that will keep you on your toes. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The Deadly Seven is my absolute favorite series and Lust is just as good as the previous books in the series. I love the story, I love the characters, and I love how well-written it is. Everything about this series is my favorite so don't mind if I go a little 'fangirl' crazy here. The Deadly Seven are genetically modified superheroes. Each of them is modified to fight sin. Liza fights lust and that's why she has no hope of ever finding love. Because how will she ever find someone who will love her without feeling any lust. And if she did find someone like that would it be worth it? She knows that she needs balance. Soon she will no longer be able to control her abilities. It's important that she finds her mate. But how? And then there is the syndicate. A group of villains who are destroying their city. They need to be stopped and the Seven are the only ones who can stop them. Unfortunately, the law is not on their side. They are vigilantes and the feds want them behind bars. In this situation, it is important to stay hidden. What they don't know is that someone is already investigating them and they are getting closer to uncovering their secret identities. Joe is back in the city that is full of memories, both good and bad. He doesn't want Liza to get close to him this time. She has broken his heart enough times already. But what to do when she is the only thing he thinks about. Not only that, but it seems that Liza is also thinking about him. Dare he hopes that they might get a shot at love? He also has an ulterior motive and what will happen when Liza finds out his true intentions? Things are definitely going to get complicated and all we can do is see how they play out. A beautifully written story about love, betrayal, family loyalty, and so much more. I enjoyed every minute of it and as usual, I admire the sibling dynamics and how well the author has captured the whole love/betrayal scenario. Every book in this series is a work of art. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good story. Whether it's romance, action, or sci-fi you are looking for - this book is perfect.
Lana Pecherczyk has done it again and given us a heart stopping, nail biting and action packed next book “Lust” in her The Deadly Seven Series and the series title couldn’t fit better as this storyline is filled with deadly and dangerous deeds needing to be done once again to protect Cardinal City from the sins of others and against their own family. I felt this was the closest storyline to The Lazarus Family finally being taken down and destroyed for who & what they are from a few sides including the Syndicate. This was Lust’s story of finding her life mate but so much danger was held in it, so much denial and what felt like the biggest betrayal of them all. None of them will be the same after lust’s storyline especially for one fated mate couple and one hot headed brother. It is hard to do a review where I don’t want to give anything away to spoil your enjoyment. However if you like hot muscled men and strong female leads with a hot romance that will curl your toes but also includes heart wrenching confessions plus trust that is so endearing because of a family’s instant support no matter what. It has many secrets and lies that are uncovered will this be nearly the end of The Deadly Seven? Lana Pecherczyk will make you feel every emotion in this book including lust, love, regret, anxiety, desperation including every increased heartbeat, palpitation and breath beside alongside each physiological change. I had sleepless nights as I wasn’t able to stop reading, then if like me the storyline will continue to run behind your eye lids or in your heart until you can read the next word of this incredible writer who so brilliantly creates new worlds that you fall into without question, loving her characters that are full of inspiration with storylines that seem to come from her own heart and soul letting you in on her dreams that we should all follow by example.
Lust is the 7th book in the Deadly Seven series if you count the prequel "Sinner" as book 1. You can read it as a stand alone, but I recommend reading the previous books in the series because the overall storyline with the Syndicate is built upon with each book.
I have been looking forward to reading this book for a very long time; and it was just as awesome as I thought it would be. Liza senses the deadly sin Lust. Since seeing her siblings find their mates who embody the opposite of their sin, she didn't have any hope of finding a mate. What kind of mate won't feel lust? But she didn't count on Joe who has been her friend since they were kids. She never sensed lust in him so just thought he didn't see her that way. Boy was she wrong. Apparently she just never looked down, when the evidence was there, to see that he did in fact feel that way about her; and has loved her practically his whole life. They went to school together, and were in the police force together. But now Joe is an FBI agent and he's back in town to investigate the Deadly Seven. Meanwhile Daisy (Despair) has come back to the family. Can she be trusted or is she still working for the Syndicate?
I loved this story. It's a fast paced, action packed romance that I highly recommend. The Deadly Seven are a family of super heroes who are super loyal and love each other. Now after reading this, I can't wait to read Parker's (Pride) story.
I was given an ARC, but am voluntarily giving my honest review.
In the words of Quigmire... OH RIGHT! This book is definitely a great addition to this series. I hope there's next one is even better than this. This is book 6 of the series and its definitely not done yet. There was that huge cliffhanger in the mist of the battle. That was very sneaky Ms. Pecherczyk! The last of the Deadly Seven, Despair has yet to find herself out of the claws of their father and find her happy ending. Which I've been hoping she will get hers soon. ♡ Action and adventure at every turn basically. Romance starts when both mains finally get their heads outta their butts (lol). Because for a minute there I wanted to smack both of them like Gibbs does to his agents. Liza doesn't have much longer before her powers will start to go haywire. She needs to find her mate and as a bonus unlock her hidden power. Then an old best friend walks back into her life, acting like she doesn't exist to him. Or does she? The way Joe throws out his signals is confusing to Liza. One minute it seems he likes her and the next it feels like he hates her and her family. What is going on with her supposed best friend.. why the cold shoulder, why ignore her? Only one thing she can do at this point, she needs to toss the ball at him and find out why. Will she like what she finds out or will it shatter her heart to pieces..
Pecherczyk DID NOT disappoint with this one! I am continuously in awe of how she keeps the over-arcing storyline in tune with, but not muddled with, the MC's storyline. She offers clean writing throughout every book and, as a reader, my brain can appreciate when she keeps everything organized for me so I can stay focused on what I want: the MCs.
There's something about childhood love that will always get to me, but I loved the was Pecherczyk wrote this one. It was atypical. And, without diving into spoiler land, let's just say that Joe grew up and DAYUM he grew up fine as hell. I loved that this was included rather than just a "he went away and now he has come back." He came back changed, and the reason for the change was heart warming and heart breaking all at the same time.
Liza was phenomenal as always. I was glad to finally be able to dive into her head and see what she was all about. We all know that when a woman has a hard shell like Liza, there's a reason. Her character also reminds me of Deb from the show Dexter and that's just one more thing to love about her.
I can't say enough good things about this series and Lana continues to deliver. I CANNOT WAIT for the next and final installments!
The story about Liza & Joey is awesome! Lust the deadly sin Liza personifies was the one thing she thought her best friend growing up never felt for her, boy was she wrong. When FBI Agent Joey returns to town to secretly investigate the Deadly Seven, a supposed vigilante group that he believes are her siblings, Liza confronts him about his leaving without a word only to learn that the one thing she thought was not possibly was, Joey desired her, he had lust for her, he was her mate. Joey has to come to terms with the fact that not only was he right about the Deadly Seven but also that Liza is one of them. At the same time Liza has to deal with her new power brought on by finding her mate, & it's deadly. Both Joey & Liza come to terms with their feelings for each other while battling against the Syndicate & the long lost sister Daisy. I cannot wait until the final two books come out about Pride & Despair. I look forward to see how Pride, Parker, deals with his mate, a Sinner, & his new power. I also look forward to the story Daisy so needs.
Liza Lazerus/Lust suffers from the sin of lust but instead of satiating it by succumbing to it as her brother Tony/Gluttony does with his sin, she suffers violently from it. Also, lust isn't just a sexual sin, it can be a lust for revenge that drives the sinner that allows Liza to detect them. This is what made this better than I was anticipating for this book.
FBI Special Agent Joe Luciano returns from Liza's past and is not what I expected as her mate. They've known each other their entire lives coming and going at various periods of time but this time things are so different. He's investigating her family and their ties to the Deadly Seven. He's the Night in Shining Armor who has always loved her long before he ever desired her.
Daisy/Despair plays a bigger role as well as the family is split between saving her and despising her for what she did to Sloan's mate, Max. There are touches added that I like such has her lifelong love for plants and the little things she did to show her siblings affection and love while being captive in the lab as children.
Overall, I'm looking forward to the climax of this series and seeing where it leads to.
Childhood friends through good times and bad; Detective Liza ‘Lust’ Lazarus and mafioso son FBI agent Joe Luciano need to trade secrets but their clumsy attempt to adult their relationship, make them awkward. Liza needs to talk about Joe being her mate and the Deadly Seven; Joe has to confess he’s investigating her family. Complicating matters, Daisy reaches out!
Add their ugly parting three months ago to their individual and combined histories, the BIG secret (Liza’s family and Joe stealthily working to separate her from them); personal struggles (Liza’s fear of her new power and Joe weighing the choice of Liza or his job; their differing views of what the mate bond means spin Joe and Liza into overwhelmed!
Liza and Joe may be the centerpiece of the read, there was plenty happening elsewhere; Julius has soldier to release. part of the Seven deliver a resounding blow to the Syndicate; Wyatt gets a Miracle when it’s needed; Daisy’s bewildered by the care and kindness from her open-armed family; the assassins have found the family and Parker’s power unlocks… in battle. Rating: 4.5stars
Liza (aka Lust) tries her best to be normal. She is a cop for Cardinal City and tries to run interference for her family when they save the day. However, she is tormented by the thought that she will never find her mate and has been lying to her family about her love life.
Joe is an ex Cardinal City cop turned federal agent. He comes back to Cardinal City to investigate the Lazarus family and in his mind they are all criminals except for Liza. He wants to prove himself to his boss and climb the FBI ladder by any means. However, when he finds out that he is Liza’s mate and his feelings for her resurface will he be able to go through with it? Can he betray the woman he loves?!
I loved this story and I’m so happy that Liza finally got the HEA that she deserves!!
Up next is Parker. He already let his pride get in the way when he met his mate in the last book. Can he accept her into his life despite her ties to the Sisterhood? I can’t wait to find out!!!
Total fan girl screams!!! How does one find the opposite of Lust?! Well im not spilling those beans because you need to read this installment of the Deadly Seven and find out for yourselves. Liza and Joe are long time friends and who'd have thought he would be her perfect match, not her brothers thats for sure! Joe is a special agent and is by the rules but learns that things are not what they seem with the government. Sides need to be taken while staying on the right side of the law. Daisy does the unthinkable... multiple times in this story! That poor girl needs a hug! A 5 star read that'll leave you wanting to know what happens next as you clutch your seat and route for love and family!
I so was not prepared for this one. D7 just keeps getting better and throwing randomness at me. For a book titled Lust, there actually wasn’t much “lusting”. No real spoilers…. But Liza reconnects to her childhood friend Joey. Who also happens to be her mate. How this is discovered and the confusion of it, totally middle school “I like you” *giggles* I would have totally been cool with a teeny bit more…. Something between the two. But, really it was fine. The Syndicate is still doing their slimy business. Daisy has feelings (I want to hug her so bad). Then… there’s Parker. This is where my mind exploded. I mean *rubs hands down face* meat grinder. Let’s leave it at that. And he’s a dumbass.
I am highly enjoying this series! This time we have Liza, aka Lust, who is reunited with her childhood friend, Joey, on an investigation for the CCPD. The two of them had protected and watched out for each other growing up, but time and distance have grown them apart. While the two work to reconcile, we also see hints of Parker’s sin, rearing its head, and Daisy, fighting between what side she is really on. Given that, Daisy, Liza and Parker are the eldest, we also see more glimpses of childhood together before they escaped the lab. We are also introduced to a few other characters that likely will be prominent in the next book. Overall, this was a blast to read and I can’t wait for it to continue.
OMG! What just happened? *Spoilers* “Lust” finally brings Liza and Joey’s story. Liza gains her powers after her realization that Joe is her mate. Daisy appears to defect from the syndicate and goes to her family for protection. This heart-pounding installment gives us betrayal, lies, half-truths, misinformation, revenge, love, family, trust, and deception, lace the pages of this tale. This remarkable storyline’s plot keeps you on the edge of your seat and you won’t be able to put it down. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment in “The Deadly Seven” series. I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily
Received an ARC copy for honest review. This was the first book in the series that I've read so I did get a bit confused on all the characters. But did find a it a kickass kind of read. Lots of action, loved the chemistry between Liza & Joe, but wished there had been more exploration on Liza's powers & how it may effects her siblings & her mate as this seems like a pretty big deal for their relationship. I wasn't completely convinced on the concept of engineering 'humans' to eradicate sin from the world.... but once I got to about half way, couldn't put it down. Will definitely be going to the beginning & seeing how it all started.
If you think the superhero genre is dead, think again. Pecherczyk has once again thrown us in the deep end of the Deadly Seven’s struggle against the Syndicate, and every second of this book only made me want to read more! Liza and Joe are so flipping hot I may have melted into a puddle on a number of occasions. And don’t get me started on the tension!
That being said, don’t pick this up if you haven’t read the others in the series first. Be kind to yourself and grab ‘Envy’ first—and then burn your way through the others. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed and you’ll enjoy this book so much more with the back story.
Lana had me on edge most of this book with the information flowing though, the Syndicates plan, Daisy’s involvement, and the return of the Sinners. I loved the long-time love of Liza and Joe and how they were the first mated couple that had known each other since they were kids. Although not really “enemies”, just hurt feelings from both of them and their insecurities. It was great and had the right amount of action/fighting but not as intimate moments with the couple, which was a fun change but leaves you wanting more of course. The chapter on Parker and the epilogue for Daisy is so enticing so I can’t wait to dive into the next one!
Holy moly, this was a cracker of a book! Liza and Joe have chemistry that jumps off the page and the action scenes were so powerful, I felt like I’d jumped in myself to take out Syndicate arseholes. Lana’s superheroes are flawed, sexy, and undeniably terrifying—if you get in their way. And Liza may just be the most badass of them all!
Really looking forward to the next book when Pride takes a fall... or maybe I should say a second, third or even fourth fall? Hopefully his mate irons him out.😂
This is a book in the deadly seven series. It can be read as a stand alone but I recommend you read each book in the series. Just an fyi, if you love romance with a fast paced twist I would highly recommend this series. I have been hooked since reading the first book.
Lust story is total!y different than what I thought, but oh so worth the read. I will say Lust's match is someone from her past. She will have to come to turns with her past and still battle her enemies. I recommend reading this story.
