As long as i can remember, i was captivated by stories. As a child, i found in books and comics, reading them over and over again.Even my choice of magazines was dictated by the number of stories they contained. And, of course, i love movies– the visual expression of stories. All this reading and watching inspired me a deep urge to tell my own stories and so began my journey as a writer. my day job is as a Senior Engineer with a well-known MNC. this is my first novel, a romance based on college life.

So i was busy with my usual work when someone asked me to review the book. I as per the very usual told him to wait for 30 days. Because the promise has to be kept intact no matter you like the book or not. Here is my review of the book.

The best thing about this book is; its so simple and easy, no complexities or unwanted descriptions. Only because of this the book i intended to finish in 30 day was finished in a day time. And you know what when every any reader want to pass a good time grab this book and read it.

As the story starts in an engineering college environment, everyone who has attended such colleges and universities will enjoy reading it. Being an engineer i felt, while reading, i felt this related to my past. the past i spent in my university and in this was it was amazing to recall that beautiful memory.

I thank to the writer that helped me recall my university memories. Guys read it :)

Whither love – and other conundrums

Indian author Bishwanath Singh is a Senior Systems Engineer, having studied at City Engineering College Bangalore. THE MISTAKE: A TRUE LOVE STORY is his debut novel.

Though the main character’s name in this fine little novel is Vijay Singh, the resemblance to the author Bishwanath Singh is so close that the book feels like a memoir, and it is a true story… The book is brief but very sensitively written, not only for the love story it holds, but also for the commentary on contemporary times and gadgets and habits. Mobile phones, Facebook, various apps, current school consternations for students – all of these play a significant and apropos role in this new author’s hands.

Vijay Singh is a college student in Bangalore, India and is studying to become an engineer. His life is fast paced and fun and he is happy, looking for love, and finding it in one Ankita. His passion drives him to do strange things, make critical decisions, all in the blind passion to marry Ankita. Problems encountered include the fact that Ankita is a widow, meaning she has been married before – a family crisis strike against the plan to propose and marry her. The plight of Vijay’s courtship is one filled with peaks and valleys and finally, when Ankita agrees to be with him, giving Vijay her address at last, Vijay speeds through the rain on his bike and collides with a car, an event that results in his hospitalization – and an ending that is best left for the reader to discover!

Bishwanath writes very well indeed: his prose is of the moment, well paced, rich in content about social and cultural mores, and provides insights into that mysterious facet of finding love and making the right choices and decisions. This is a book that will encourage young students facing the multifaceted spectrum of college life, and it is also a book that offers solid entertainment for everyone. Recommended.

When I started this book, I wasn’t sure what to expect as this was my first book from the author. But, I had a wonderful experience by reading this book and it rarely happens that I read the book completely within 2 days. This book is a lovely story with fun from college days.

For all those who have loved someone and lost them due to some reasons or circumstances, this book comes across as a hope. It's an optimistic read.

I learned. Life depends on our actions and decisions. The book is indeed beautifully written and it reached out into the depths of my soul. Such a tiny book can stir great emotions in the reader too.

Reading this novel in this weather with some hot chocolate is what I totally recommend.

The Mistake
A true love story
By Bishwanath Signh (Book Review by Eddy)

True love comes from all over the world and everyone has a story to tell. The Mistake, a true love story comes from Bangalore India by the author, Bishwanath Signh. This book is filled with adventure, humor, and real-life situation that you and I can relate to. Each chapter is full of surprises and humorous experience that Bishwananth gone through.

Bishwanath Singh is the main character and goes by the name Vijay. He attends New Light Engineering college in Bangalore. His goals were to finish college and graduate with an engineering major and have a girlfriend during his stay there (a physical relationship, nothing more). Soon he fell head-over-heels for a girl named Ankita after meeting her. As the semester passed, Vijay grew closer to Ankita and they both became boyfriend and girlfriend. Towards the end of their graduation, Ankita told Vijay that her dad would like for her to get married. Now this became hard on Vijay, because he knows his parents wouldn’t allow it. From there they both broke up.

3 years later, Vijay still have regrets about the breakup. He felt that it was his mistake for not trying to convince his parent. Soon after, he heard that Ankita is single, but he also found out that she became a widow, her husband died from an accident. Reunited again, Vijay was determined to marry Ankita. After a long talk with his father, he finally agreed to it. With exciting news, Vijay rushed to tell Ankita but then got into a bike accident. Vijay finally woke up to seeing Ankita by his side, the doctors said he was okay, and nothing was broken. Once he got discharged, they both finally got married and lived happily ever after.

This book is surprisingly good, simple, and easy to follow. There are few minor mistakes like a few sentences need to be spaced out from pages 48 and 130. Also, from page 43, “they” need to be changed to “there”, but I could be wrong because I have the advanced version. Overall, I give this book a 4 out of 5. This book is worth picking if you’re into romance or comedy novels. Give it a chance, because I know you will enjoy reading it as I did. Hope you all enjoy this review and happy reading everyone.

After reading two books back to back on Cricket, it was time to pick up something else other than the intense stories that I read which made me pick up the book by the debutante author, Bishwanath Singh, named “The Mistake”. The book has a tagline “a true love story” and is published by Notion Press in around 140 pages. So, this time I won’t be reviewing this book but just be telling you about the book what it is actually based on. Reading the book, I got the feeling that this is quite an autobiographical account of the author himself and you can feel it in few sentences the way they are written. You can understand that author is talking about himself.

If you have been into the college and enjoyed your days by bunking classes, being ragged and then ragged your juniors, got punished for multiple things, dreamed about getting into relationship with a beautiful girl, did everything for friendship you could have done etc. then this book is going to be a nostalgic experience for you.

Author talks about the college life of the protagonist and the wish with which he comes to the college and how he falls in love with a girl- also keeps telling her about his feelings but she never reacts positively. And then there comes a time when having her in his life becomes an impossibility and what happens when they meet each other again after some time. The book also discusses in detail the fun and enjoyment the protagonist does with his friends and how they do things and fall into trouble for no reason at all.

This is a light-read which you can read between heavy books or when you want just casual reading. I completed this book within 2.5 hours. This book is like one of those novels which got published between 2008-2015 where most of them were based on college life, friends, boyfriend-girlfriend relationship etc. I am not saying if the book is good or bad, I wish to know your views this time. Hence, please buy this book, read it and let me know if you feel the author is better version of Chetan Bhagat or not as the book written falls in the same genre. 😊

Thanks.
