4/5 This volume we’re introduced to another new character, Timothy. He has some strange powers of his own. All in all I enjoyed the start of this new story arc. Timothy on the cover this time around.

For the most part, this volume was a disaster. While before, there were panels I could easily understand, now those are few and far in between. I still can’t tell who the hell is talking, and can almost never understand any action whatsoever. The introduction of Timothy also was kind of dull and boring to me.

Kanda is always amusing, and I like the way he's being featured more heavily in these later volumes. I didn't think much of Link before, but he's a pretty awesome fighter.

A new case. A phantom thief, a lot of people arrested for being the phantom thief. Innocence is involved. This time akuma and skulls alike are going all out to deal with Allen Walker. Alas, I didn’t care much for the new accomodator and his stereotypical obsession with grabbing boobs. Or the owner of the boobs he was grabbing. His Innocence was interesting, but I had trouble warming to them. Allen didn’t share this problem, even if Kanda did. I was more intrigued by the two of them and the Crows. Howard Link powered up in a significant way, performing splendidly in battle. Readers meet a Broker whose motives may be more sympathetic and complex for dealing with the Millennium Earl than past Brokers we’ve met. She was the most interesting of the new characters. Overall I was more into the overall arcing mysteries than the current plot. I’m very interested in what will happen next.

This was a much stronger volume. Hoshino kept the tone serious through the whole volume, and while there were moments of humor, the text was clearly focused on the plot and action rather than goofiness. Allen & Co. go to Paris to attempt to figure out a series of thefts bizarre enough to indicate the presence of either Akuma or someone with innocence.

The second half of the volume is dedicated to a fight with three different Akuma (a level 2, a level 3, and a level 4) as each side of the larger battle tries to capture the new innocence.

Allen and Kanda get to go on a mission together! I really enjoyed this volume, Link is a nice touch to the group even though he makes problems for the group, haha.

I really liked how Kanda and Allen were attacking and they just looked like demons, it was so hilarious.

The other dimension thing is different for the akuma to make as well. I liked the added intracies of the brokers as well!

As things settle out to normal, the exorcists get back into the swing of things with a new case: the mysterious thief G. In so doing, they realize that the thief is in fact an orphan named Timothy who has a mysterious jewel stuck in his forehead. However, the akuma also know about him and send in more reinforcements, meaning more fighting.

I wasn't *quite* as invested in this one, because of the reveals about Allen in the last volume, I'm anxious to get back to that storyline.

This volume focuses mainly on the exorcists tracking down an individual who may have Innocence, but uses it to steal riches while framing others. I did find the new character's abilities interesting and refreshingly different.

This was not the most plot-advancing volume of the serie. But I like seeing new powers and a lot had been happening in previous volumes so it's nice to have a breather.

A lot was happening in this Volume. I was a bit confused as to what was going on at times because so much was happening. But it was still good.

Honestly, this didn’t wow me all that much. It wasn’t awful but then again it went on way too long. This could have been trimmed up and been much more tight and interesting (I think sometimes the weekly format was part of the reason the story wanders a bit. I wonder how it moving to monthly will affect story telling). Even the art is a bit rough in this.

Anyhow, Kanda, Allen and Link have been sent to Paris after a thief, G, who manages to use surrogates to still major objects de art and afterward, the police catch these surrogates – in G’s ridiculous outfit – and who have no memory of what they did. When G hijacks Link’s brain, they realize that whoever G is might have innocence (well they suspected that anyhow). Link, as it turns out, is a Crow, one of the special combat forces (and in action he becomes much more interesting, especially visually, he’s actually attractive with his bangs will instead of the WTF straight bangs of doom with a pony tail in the back).

They track the happenings back to an orphanage and a young boy with a crystal embedded in his forehead, Timothy. Naturally the crystal is innocence and a bizarre form of Akuma show up, one that can turn people into puppets. Seriously with a bit of tightening up this could have been a lot better. As it is now, it’s a lot of endless fight scenes and the introduction of a new kind of exorcist. I figure by this point you’re over 180$ into the series if you’re buying. You’re committed. It’s not awful but it’s not WOW either.

Slowly losing a sense of what is going on again. Kanda and Allen have actually teamed up (I'm a little shocked by that) to find a thief called G. Much to their shock, it was actually a little kid who could possess people. That explains why he was so hard to catch.

Then suddenly, they are all under attack by various akuma of various levels. The Red Order appears with their "Third Exorcists." I still don't understand what a Second Exorcist actually is, but it appears that one of our heroes is actually one.

Again... WHAT IS GOING ON? I feel like I should probably be screaming and crying right now, but I am not entirely sure why. So much is going crazy.

Allen. Please save the day.

Three and a half stars.

This was a great read, and Hoshino's art has just gotten better and better, to the point that comparing it to the earlier volumes, it is amazing and really shows how she is ageing the characters well.

The story is also finally starting to move along into it's new arc, and it is gooooooood.

The new character introduced in this volumes looks to bea great new addition, but with Link and ugly-haircut-man already added in the worry is it may get a bit overcrowded.

Amazing volume.
