INCREDIBLE!!!!! 😍😍
'Royal Rabbits of London: The Hunt for the Golden carrot' is incredible. Even though it is quite short, I deeply recommend this book as it has a small, feeble bunny who becomes an adventurous, daring rabbit.

Mild spoilers ahead!
This was a wonderful book that I enjoyed reading and I think has finally gotten me out of my reading slump. I'm glad Shylo and his siblings ,especially Maximilian, finally get along and act like a family it was very heartwarming. I loved the plot and the whole story line. The only problem I had was how to pronounce Harlequin. I know it sounds silly but I pronounce it like Harly Quinn can anyone tell me how to say it correctly, thankyou😂.
I really recommend this book as a light hearted wonderful read.

In this fourth installment of the Royal Rabbits series, problems hit close to home for little brave Shylo.
In his warren, he finds something strange and dark going on. A mysterious bunny called Harlequin is on the farm, attracting many followers with his crazy singing and loopy dancing. But Harlequin is also digging for the Golden Carrot, which, says an ancient legend, will give him power over all humans and animals. Harlequin believes it's buried somewhere on the farm.
As more followers flock to the warren, Shylo wonders if the hunt for the Golden Carrot is a fun game or if Harlequin is plotting world domination…
With his home and his family under threat, Shylo counts on his found family back in London to help him save his warren.
The thing I loved most in this installment were the family dynamics. Although being in his warren with his family, Shylo feels out of place. He isn’t as big and strong as his older brother and often gets teased because of it. As soon as his found family, the Royal Rabbits, come out to help him though, he finds the courage inside to stand up to the bullies and saves the day once again.
Especially by the end, when the warren is saved and his brother is recovering from the encounter with the farmer, the characters develop so much. The dynamic between Shylo and his siblings shifts, and it helped Shylo believe in himself and find the validation and the appreciation he longed so much for. It really helped him grow as a character and I can’t wait to see how this newfound confidence will play out as the series progresses.
I will definitely be continuing with this series and can’t wait what adventures await little Shylo Tawny-Tail in the future!

The first book about the Royal Rabbits of London I found in a Dutch bookstore. As happens a little too often (at least this book didn't have a cliffhanger) the sequels were never translated and I switched to English to find out what would happen to our brave rabbit and his friends in the next book. However, I hadn't gotten to reading the fourth one in the series yet, so when I placed my big book order this week it was the perfect moment to change that.
And just like the previous three books the story was once more quite cute. That's of course because Shylo is just one of the cutest characters you'll ever meet, brave in a different kind of way than most heroes. Shylo is shy, he's afraid and he hesitates sometimes. However, he also can't deal with injustice and when he sees people in danger he does want to help. And then he acts, even though he's afraid and even though he doesn't enjoy it. It makes him likable and most of all relatable. All kids can be like Shylo. They can all be heroes in their own way.
In this book we step away from the Castle and return to the countryside where Shylo has grown up. Although I quite enjoyed the Corgi's and the Queen and the royal visits, it was kinda fun to see these characters in a different environment and going up against different enemies. Apart from Shylo saving the world again, of course, it also gave him the chance to talk about all the past issues with his family, in a very child friendly way of course. And the way that was done was quite nice!
And last but not least I really enjoy all the different animals working together and having their own networks to help the humans and people, despite all the dangers. We already met the Foxes in London, but now we're also meeting the ones who have always been Shylo's enemies and we learn that they are also animals who just need to eat to do their job. Is it weird that I'm now quite curious what animals are protecting the Dutch royals?
Since there is a state visit from the Dutch King and Queen happening at the end of the book, I do hope a little that we will meet them in a next book!

It’s late summer in London. Deep below Buckingham Palace, our favorite fictional bunny, Shylo Tawny-Tail, is happy with his role as a Royal Rabbit. The Royal Rabbits are a secret group of specially trained rabbits whose mission it is to guard the Royal Family…on the QT of course!
As the story opens, it’s a special day for Shylo. He gets to go his home warren for a visit; he hasn’t been home since the spring! He is sooooooooo excited! And while he has had many grand adventures, he misses his mom and his siblings. After packing and saying his so longs, Shylo hops aboard the underground Rabbit Rail bound for the English countryside.
But when he arrives, he quickly realizes that something fishy is going on. All the other rabbits are mesmerized by a mysterious named Harlequin. Shylo, with his outsider’s perspective, sees that Harlequin has developed a cult-like following. I was reminded of Jim Jones, Charles Manson and others who have convinced followers into blind obedience.
Harlequin is after the Golden Carrot, which, according to ancient legend, will give him complete power of all humans and animals. All Shylo’s siblings and his old friends are digging up the countryside, looking for the valuable artifact. More and more rabbits come to the farm to look for the Golden Carrot. But when the search turns deadly, Shylo must use all his resources to figure out exactly what Harlequin is trying to do.
Shylo calls on all his hometown friends and his Royal Rabbit colleagues and even some of bad guys he has recently encountered to help him solve the mystery. It was fun to see all the characters from the previous three stories. The appearance of these characters may signal the end of the series—it has that feeling.

Je dois dire que depuis que l’on a lu le premier, on les a tous enchainé dès leur sortie. Timmy est un petit lapin très attachant et ses aventures sont passionnantes. Dans cette nouvelle aventure, ce dernier retourne dans sa garenne pour retrouver sa famille. Malheureusement, tout ne se passe pas comme il l’aurait pensé. Il avait peur déjà de ses frères et sœurs et notamment Maximilien qui lui fait toujours la misère mais finalement il va devoir affronter un être plus machiavélique qui fait tourner la tête aux lapins. En effet, ce dernier leur fait croire que la magie existe mais surtout que la carotte d’or permettra des choses meilleures sauf qu’en fait il ne pense qu’à lui. Il va devoir alors appeler les lapins de la couronne pour l’aider à mettre un terme à ce plan et surtout montrer aux autres lapins la vérité ! J’avoue que je ne pensais pas que c’était le dernier et j’ai été très déçue de cela… Il y aurait pu clairement avoir une suite. Mai en tout cas, cette histoire est encore à la hauteur, j’ai beaucoup aimé la tournure de l’histoire et puis elle montre à quel point Timmy est doué pour sa nouvelle vie ! Une histoire qui montre que tout le monde peut réussir si tant est qu’il donne tout ce qu’il a pour le faire.
En résumé, Les lapins de la Couronne d’Angleterre Tome 4 La Carotte d’Or signe le dernier de la saga et je dois dire que c’est bien triste parce que cette saga pour enfants est vraiment excellente et moi-même j’ai adoré ! Je les trouve absolument magnifiques grâce une édition très belle entre la couverture épaisse et les dorures. Et puis, les illustrations agrémentent parfaitement les romans. Une saga que je ne peux que vous conseillez d’acheter pour vos enfants qui commencent à lire parce qu’ils sont vraiment adaptés pour se mettre dans la lecture en les passionnant.

The final installment in the Royal Rabbits series does not disappoint. The story is fun and zany and packed with likeable characters and sometimes deliciously tense situations involving dangerous foxes and farmers with shotguns. This is one of my favorite contemporary children's series. The writing is really masterful and full of rich language and boldly delineated emotions, plus some good humor. The denouement of the plot left a little to be desired, but overall the book was a joy to read. Kudos to authors Montefiore on a nice children's saga involving brave rabbits who protect their queen and the country of England (and even the world).

Okay, listen, I know this is a childrens book but I do think this series is fucking peak.
I read this book to my rabbits when I was younger and it just made me feel so... Joyful. I wasn't a reader, but this book just made it pop, truly. Before even I got my first book that "got me into reading", this one was #1. I recommend this to every single child and idgaf if I'm too old to glaze this book, it's one of the best books I ever read...... Truly.
