Fran and Teacher with their awesome "dog" Jet at their best, and I cant even begin to address the amazing trio and their adventures. For those of you having read the previous volumes, i gurantee you wont be disappointed. The authors way of writing and the stories pace leaves me burning through the pages that I originally was hoping to take my time reading through. Illustrations really helped me finilaze the looks of the characters and their situations so thank you very much for putting them! Thank you so much as well, for making a genuine story series that I greatly enjoy.
If you've made it this far in the series you'll enjoy this episode. Mainly focused on the trip to the beastman nation this episode gets our protagonist 3 temporary students while on the ship, there isn't much character growth, couple cool sea battle. This book could easily get summed up in the intro of the next book sans the introduction of a couple characters.
This seventh volume is basically retreading the same steps. We face an enemy we've faced before, we meet monsters we've seen before, and the only new place were the team is going to isn't reached until the end. So, while there are a few genuinely funny moments, it doesn't feel that great overall.
In the previous volume Teacher and Fran decided to travel to the Beastmen Kingdom on the continent of Chrome. The trip over land and the ocean is far from easy, and they meet friends and enemies, both old and new. The story is mostly an entertaining travel journal, slice-of-life with the occasional action and a for the series fairly typical rescue. I enjoy these kind of stories, and I find them more interesting to read then the tournament arc in volume 6. If you were looking for progress in the over-arching arc, whether the mystery of Teacher or the Black Cats, then you might be a bit disappointed with this volume though.
Back at sea, here's a whole transition novel. Not like there's no adventure, but it kind of feels forced for the sake of making a novel out of this. Not always in a bad way, it was nice to see Fran interact as a Master with her students, but after the last few novels filled with overpowered different characters, even a Sea Dragon kinda felt like a letdown. Stopping this series for now until I find more of these novels on sale~
This books seems to have a bit of a deus ex save in it. As if the author was gearing up for something epic and couldn’t figure out how to end a big fight with the MC where they win for “reasons.” If you read you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. With that said. This book follows pretty much the same formula as the previous ones. If you liked those, you’ll prob enjoy this as well.
A 7hr audio book. Back on the sea again with either people/creatures that are 50 levels under or 50 levels above Fran, its never a fair playing field for the author. Her only advantage is the many spells. Overall, boring but fun.
