Wow, what a short and powerful story. Definitely fits in with today’s happenings. Just kept reading and didn’t want it to end. Don’t miss out on this book.

you have to watch out

ok, I enjoyed this book and would have given it more counties are called parishes only in Louisiana.stars But you guys know nothing about life in Louisiana. o I need to point out some glaring mistakes you have made. The most grating mistake is that there are no counties in Louisiana, Parishes. No town would be called New Brisbane, needed to be at least French sounding. There are no A frame cabins and no steep hills until you get to Alexandria. the basement could have been a buried shipping container because we have trouble with the water table being only three feet underground. Rooms seem to float up out of the ground and have to be anchored as do swimming pools. You did good describing the hurricane damaging the cabin. The sister-in-law s barn makes them extremely wealthy race horse breeders. The jeep was a good choice, but it needed to be raised with big mud tires or it would not have made it across the yard. the mud here is very deep and sticky and we have to buy travel or rocks to make even paths. anyway I will continue with the series and imagine you meant Texas.

Best End of the World Book Ever

I have almost made a hobby of reading fictionalized stories of extinction event disasters. What differentiates this book is it's handsomely built prose and unflinching character development. Of course suspenseful it unfolds an amazing story. I do look forward to reading all the books of this series.

Post-apocalyptic Bliss

This is perhaps the best PA novel I've read in some time. The story builds around a group of memorable characters. There is high amount of tension that is only partially resolved by the end of this volume. It is impossible not to become involved in each of the leading characters lives. Very rewarding reading.

A lot of words for a lot of characters

I generally liked this book. The author acknowledges it would be a series of long books centered around character development. It's just that with so many main characters and all the peripheral people around them it became a bit of drudgery to get to the end. I would have preferred fewer characters with more development of each for the same length, or the same characters with less background/backstory and a shorter book. I don't know what to do about reading the next book. I would like to find out what happens to one character, but never got into the others.

Storm's Fury (Storm's Fury #1) - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Tristan is a lonely ex-soldier, living in isolation and overcome with guilt and remorse for how he's treated his family in the past. He must also prepare to fight for survival amidst the apocalyptic weather events, that have been artificially created and increased by a malign megalomaniac. He also determines to be there for Helen, his daughter, who's been left in shock, dazed at the powerful storm that has swept away much of what has seemed safe and familiar - until now.The pair determine to work together and discover the truth behind the devastating events, that are so much more extreme than would naturally be the case. What is the Government's involvement? Who is responsible for developing adverse, dangerous nanotechnology - and who is ultimately responsible for lives and property so needlessly lost or severely damaged?
A fantastic introduction to the Storm's Fury is Book 1 in  An Epic Post-Apocalyptic Survival Thriller series by the magnificent partnership of Justin Bell and Mike Kraus will keep you on the edge of your seat and biting your nails down to the wrists at the gritty drama, tension, powerful people and events within...get it now!

I've read other books by Justin Bell (Heaven's Fist, Last Light, Zero Hour) and this has a common theme of human hubris which make a nice unique spin on the apocalypse. I've generally liked his writing style, but in the beginning of this book, starting with the very first sentence, it was very ornate prose to the point of being overblown. I found it very distracting while reading. Fortunately that flowery writing toned down a bit as the story progressed. Since this is a first book of a series and is also very short, it is primarily the start of disaster, but with a lot of people not appreciating that this is going to get worse. I also want to point out that I believe Louisiana doesn't have counties but has parishes.

Good Book, Too Many Sequels

This was a really good read. It is well written and absorbing. The writers avoid the modern tendency of over-reliance on profanity or vulgarity. Nice character development and a plausible premise create a compelling read.
What I dislike is the book is the first in a series of 10 book. Really?
Even J.R.R, Tolkien was able to do the complete tale of Hobbit/LOTR in only 4.
More is not necessarily better. I will read a series of three books, but am not really find of those either.
Tell me a story, get to the point, and complete the tale in a single volume. That is what I find satisfying. I don't object to sequels, but dislike a never-ending saga. NOTE: These comments are strictly my own opinion, and others have legitimately different POVs.

A decent read

The book is based on several characters that chronicles how they are all impacted by severe metrological anomalies. I found the book slow in its character development and story buildup to me it serves only to build background for the upcoming volumes within the series. Little is achieved beyond that. The editing is very thorough as is the grammar; plus there are no sex scenes or swear words, innuendos, and smut. Kudos for that ! The author is one who doesn’t need to build his story on sex, swearing or mass killings.

I enjoy reading about various ways the world as we know it starts to end. In this book, a project to help start cooling the earth using nano technology has somehow backfired, bringing weird lightning, downing jetliners, killing cell phones, and killing almost all power. This book follows some involved with it, and others just affected by it. The story is pretty good, but almost always, these stories aren't complete. You need to get volume two. I hate that, but might do it.
Enjoy.

Truth is scarier than fiction!

Wow, here i go again. I can't stop reading your books and being scared out of my mind even though I know its fiction. You have a way of putting the human psyche into scenarios that ring true. I pray this never happens, but with the crazies in today's world and their quest for control it just might. We all need to read this so we are aware of what could happen to us. Even though I am scared I am on to the next book! Very well written!

Good

There is a lot of action without a lot happening (if that makes any sense). It is a good book and I will definitely read the second book but it is not an edge of your seat sort of cliffhanger where I couldn’t wait to turn the next page. Rather like a nice relaxing stroll through the neighborhood.

Storm's Futy

This story took me by storm, it was exciting and tempestuous The horror of destruction was sudden and devastating. With no where to run everybody was trying to find safety. The story is very entertaining and a page turner. A new way has been discovered for ending the whole world as we know it, Heatshield.

An Action Packed Ride

Storm's Fury is an Apocalypse happening world wide. The Action begins on page one and never lets up. The characters are from different cities and different backgrounds and keep the story Interesting. As Climate change changes out weather, imagine the U.S. Government doing it on purpose. But it loses control and the worst scenario happens. A very good read.

Took a while to get to it

Honestly, the opening volume was mostly a particularly long prologue. It was nearly three quarters of the book before it really began to move beyond character introduction, and there are a lot of them. I shall read the next volume in hope the pace picks up.

Surprising Twist of plot

Finally, a different take on the post apocalyptic story. I believe the authors achieved their goal of making the characters interesting and real. Tristan is hard not to like and I love the other two also.

Outstanding

The way the story started and continued is great. The survivors so far are doing what is necessary at this time. Going to be interesting to see how they will continue to react.

Not at all disappointed

From the beginning I knew this was a "hold on to your hat" type of read. It did take a moment toget connected to the characters but then things started 'falling' into place. haha! If your up for an exciting read well read on.

Better than most of this genre

Good characters and a well paced plotline. Several.romance hints but nothing too quick to be believed. Good choice for a pleasant diversion to chronovirus.

Entertaining

This is an intriguing storyline, man made disaster coupled with mother nature’s fury causing loss of life an misery. The story splits between Chicago, Seattle, DC and a small town in Louisiana.

Worth reading

Her characters are very interesting and she writes about them in-depth where you actually get to know them. The book is not predictable and it is very interesting and a real page-turner.

What a concept!

Just scary enough to feel real. Interesting how all these different lives react. I'm sure the next books will link these folks together. I like the detail. I read this book quickly and will be reading the rest of the series. I can't wait to see where it leads.

So much going on

Have you ever thought that the downfall of earth would be mother nature itself?
What about if mankind gave her a helping hand.
A great introduction to what looks to be another fantastic series.
