The struggle for survival in Cloverdale continues as Vince Walker and a small group of survivors find that nothing comes easy in the post-apocalyptic ruins of what was once their town.
With a lack of emergency services and modern day conveniences, the reality of their situation forces them to rely on each other and become self-sufficient. Each new day brings with it a unique set of challenges that the group must rise above and conquer to eke out an existence.
Food, water and shelter aren’t their only concerns, though. They must also defend themselves against an outlaw gang of looters determined to take control of the few resources that remain and kill anyone who gets in their way.
Will the survivors of Cloverdale stay united? Or will temptation divide them? How many will succumb to the evil that lurks in the shadows just beyond the town limits?
This has been a good series so far and the strength of it is the characters. I like how they pull together to try to build a life and to survive. Each of them brings something positive to the effort. This book did lag a bit at times especially the excruciating detail in moving cars around to form a barrier (though that action was a smart thing to do). Several times while reading that part, I was sure it was building to some sudden change in tempo and there would be an attack or an accident or something. Nope, just more moving of the cars. The bright side is that I think they had to have moved almost every stalled car in the area so we are done with that.
Idk how realistic this scenario is. If it were the world's end and i had a functional farm with solar I would go there instead of some crummy motel. How would animals really fair in a courtyard? And where would you start a garden? The soil is bound to be awful around the motel. But that's just me. I honestly think all of these books could be condensed into one to make a more enjoyable read.
Vince and the survivors are capable of defending their town. The twists and turns are amazing. Can't wait for the next book in this series to find out how much chaos they caused with the looters.
Another good read. Glad Buster was able to do his job. Things worked out ok there, I wondered why they wanted to stay at the motel instead of a house, now I understand.
Love this writer. Good, interesting reading. In-depth and insightful knowledge of the characters background and feelings. I can't wait for the next book.

It’s hard to find an author that writes well and who doesn’t need to include the extreme blood, death and violence that so many others do. The characters are well developed, interesting and personable. The storyline is intriguing and plausible. I’ve enjoyed getting to know them and look forward to the next book in the series. My only complaint is the length of his books. Way too short. The description of the lengthy time it took to move the vehicles was also a little much. If it were a longer book I wouldn’t have minded as much. I hope this series ends with a better conclusion than his first series did. I loved them too but was left very unsatisfied as I thought there was going to be more to the story. But it’s been over a year and he’s written this series since so I’m assuming that series ended with the 5th book. A little disappointed but still think his writing is great and would recommend to YA and adults who enjoy apocalyptic fiction.
You have to be prepared for the long-haul in life.
Upfront: This is the third book in this post-apocalyptic series. I recommend reading "Impact" then "Survival" before getting to this story. While there is some violence in this book, considering the circumstances it was within reason.
At times, mistakes in can take you down a path that you didn't plan for in the beginning. Does this rural community have what it takes to overcome the unexpected?
I love how Mr. Miller shared the ups and downs of the rural community in a situation they never expected to have happen. I suspect that if it was a larger town and no one knew one another things may have turned out differently.
Bruno Miller is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.
I have been patiently waiting for this book to come out to move the story forward, and I'm pleased with the results of that wait. I'm getting old, so I hope the next edition comes soon. I love the characters, and very much like the story line. A lot of my "future books to read" has come from lists of books Bruno has been written, but I've just about read them all now. Hoping for a quick write on the next.
.....series and would normally have gotten a 5 Star rating, BUT, there are some parts in book three that were just a waste of space, especially Chapter 20!!! Too many unnecessary, and boring, details that their only reason to be there is to up the books word count. Non-the-less, it is still a good read. Still wondering where the extra kid came from though!!!! LOL
The ingenuity Mr. Miller comes up with in his books can be mindboggling. MacIver would love it. There are certainly elements you find in most all TEOTWAWKI books, but his solutions to problems are creative in the extreme. It's worth reading his books just to see what he comes up with.
Slowly the story is being fleshed out. I would have liked less car moving time and more time frame moving. The planning to stay alive seems to fall only on one person. Moving the plot forward is tedious.
Well written....believable...heartbreaking, at times.
The characters are now well established in the small Cloverdale group . The storyline unfolds well and the author remains true to his characters. I think Bruno Miller is the best author of these Apocolypse series.
Once again the author has done a incredibly awesome job!
Really enjoyed this book, this series is amazing! Well written and chilling as you go along with them to fight to save what's left of their lives! Can't wait for the next one!
Interesting plot with characters that rise to the occasion. They do their best to to thrive in a post apocalyptic world. Intriguing series but an unfinished one in my humble opinion. I hope Mr Miller will see fit to continue writing the story.
This book takes a person through a step by step look at a realistic and potential way of life that stems from a broken world. Definitely makes ya think.
Cloverdale is another outstanding series. The journey taken with Major as he leads his group through the beginning days of the apocalypse is not to be missed.
