He was eleven when the alien bug broke into his home, slaughtered his family, and left him with superior strength and weird healing powers. The years since, he's been the REAL super, intergalactic badass. Like, the baddest. No one could ever compare. Maybe. He leads teams and platoons into battles, ending planetary wars before they can even begin. He singlehandedly saves Earth Two from two invasions and stops an intergalactic war. So what if too many people die and planets are destroyed. At least the threats are gone, right? Right. He's soon a respected, although infamous, Elite Sergeant for the Supreme Elite Division. Everything goes beautifully until he's stripped of his stripes and banished to Earth One for not only following orders, putting his platoon in danger. He wakes up in Australia with parasitic kangaroos and--

BLAH-BLAH-BLAH. Look, if you want the full Clusterfuk, check these shenanigans out! I promise...you'll come back for more.

WARNING: THIS BOOK IS FOUL MOUTHED, VIOLENT, AND BRIMMING WITH BAD JOKES! YOU'LL LOVE IT! BUT, YA KNOW, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! SHUT UP.

DNF at 39%. I love books where there is toilet humor, lots of action, giant bugs, and pretty much every trait that this contained. But the issue for me was that every line was an attempt at being vulgar or funny, and that wore out its welcome after a few chapters. Nothing was bad and I did laugh a few times, but was just way, way too much of it. To quote Mark Twain, “Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.” And the plot and characters got lost in the shuffle, treated almost like an afterthought to the excessive comedy.

In this age of ultra-political correctness it is refreshing to find a story devoid of it and revelling in ultra-unpcness. This is a wonderful homage to all things funny. The only reason I gave this 4 stars was because I want more Clusterfuk tales!

Raunchy, rollicking space tale

Clint Clusterfuk (pronounced Clooster-fook...yeah, right) is an elite soldier. When he was 11 years old, a bug alien killed his parents and bled on him, leaving him with superior strength, speed and healing ability.

Now he goes around the universe, cleaning up messes no one else can handle.

Be warned that this book is full of adolescent humor, foul language, blood and gore yet still manages to be pretty darn funny.

It's not for everyone. If you are offended easily, this is NOT for you.

If you want a fast, irreverent story, maybe this is the book for you.

What an action-packed blast! Clint Clusterfuk is kick-ass, quick-witted and funny as hell. I loved this book from start to finish. The fight scenes are all in, blood and gore splatter everything, Clusterfuk is in the middle of it and you can't help but feel like you're right in there alongside him. Pederson's writing style is unique, he tells a damn solid story and throws in some good belly laughs along the way. I haven't read a book quite like this before and I can't wait to read more! Grab a copy now, because it's Clusterfuk it time!

Great fun!

Before getting this book you should know that there is a lot of swearing and 'immature humour' in here.
Having said that, it's actually pretty fun! From page one, the action is intense, but strangely enjoyable. It was really easy to get into this book and it made me smile.
Even if you aren't normally a fan of this type of book, I'd still recommend giving it a go, as you will find yourself really getting into it.

WARNING: If you’re easily offended by raunchy or very foul language, do yourself and the author a favor and don’t read this book and then give the author a low rating for bad language when you know it’s not your jam. You’ve been warned. Now on to my review...

Wow. I am so surprised by how much I loved this book! I had never read anything by this author before so I went into it without any real expectations. It grabbed me from the first sentence and literally didn’t let me go until the last. I also laughed intermittently throughout the entire book because the main character, Clint, was hysterically funny, foul-mouthed and irreverent about everything. And I loved him! He was just one of those characters that’s like, “hey, this is me and I don’t care what you think.” It made him real, engaging, laughable, endearing, but also sympathetic where you just couldn’t do anything but root for him. Plus he was a total cocky badass, but even that was charming.

The story itself was inventive, very unique for a sort of sci-fi, horror and comedy mixture that I just never expected. It takes you from space, strange planets and alien fights to Australia and all over the place. There was nothing predictable about this book, its settings or the characters. Just pure creativity.

I loved how the author introduced his characters, how he managed to put so much characterization into the smallest bits of dialogue or scene. I went away feeling like I really knew the main characters very well and had a soft spot for all of them.

As far as writing style, I would say this was unlike any other author voice I’ve read before. It too was so unique to Lucas Pederson that I feel I could pick up one of his books without a title or cover, start reading and know I was reading Lucas Pederson. That is extremely difficult to do but the author made his voice known, and gave Clint a unique voice of his own as well.

The pacing was absolutely amazing. I ran through this book nearly in one sitting except I was forced to stop for sleep and work. Otherwise, I’d have read through to the end because the story was just that engaging and the pacing spot on. I’ll definitely be looking for more books by this author. A definite gem that I’m glad I found!

What is fascinating about Clint Clusterfuk is that on the face of it, it is just a book leaking with expletives and hilarious insults but there is more to it. First of all there is a glorious science fiction setting. Then there is the underlying story of deception, alien armies, different dimensions and the like. Finally, is the slightly masked back story that comes within the lines of filth that circle in Clint’s mind. If you look just below the surface, we learn of betrayal, a desire for revenge, murdered parents and of course a love of Mexican food. What often appears as a shallow and brilliantly vulgar, mindless story also occasionally shows itself as being much more.

I doubt Clint would be too happy with this analysis of his self so enough with the depth. Outside of that Clint Clusterfuk also operates as a hugely entertaining jaunt that has you turning the page just to see what he comes out with next. And if you think he is bad, just wait until he gets to Australia! My god I love the time he spent there. I pretty much got to the point where I had a notebook, taking down phrases and words for use in the future. My little book of Clint’s insults.

I love Clint!

This is my first story experience with LP, and it was a good one. Think Duke Nukem, only even better. Alotta gore, not much lore, every chapter was fast and action filled.
