Virtually everything in America relies on computers. The electrical grid, the banking network, and the railroads are prime examples. Hackers employed by our enemies are constantly looking for ways to infiltrate and destroy these systems. In Terror on the Tracks, three terrorists have been sent to Kansas City, the nation’s second largest rail hub, to sabotage the railroad and engulf the city in an environmental disaster. Walt, along with his father, John, and his partner, Kevin, are dragged into the terrorists’ plot and put their lives on the line to snuff out the terrorists’ diabolical plan to destroy the railroad.

This was another enjoyable Lady Justice book. Shorter than normal, but no less enjoyable. Walt and friends find a lot of drama being dropped in their laps, and make a lot of comments on the state of society and America in general.
This was an excellent book and I would highly recommend this book to any one who wants and excellent read.I look forward to reading more of this author's work.
I have read many of the books in the Lady Justice series and always know ahead of time that I'm going to enjoy them and have a fun time. As always, Walt and the old-timers come to the rescue and outsmart the criminals. In this case, three terrorists who attempt to cripple the US by attacking the railway system in Kansas city - multiple times. It's a matter of Walt and company being at the right place at the right time. I liked the pictures included in the story, which also helped me to learn some new facts about the railroads and systems.
It should also be mentioned that in many of the author's stories, the ideas and or attacks planned by the bad guys are something real and plausible. In real life, I would hope authorities have plans in place to thwart these kinds of potential catastrophes. Perhaps, they should read all the books in the series.
I did enjoy this story and had a fun time with it. Thank you, Mr. Thornhill. Well done!
All I can say is that this is another action packed hit for Robert Thornhill. Add trains and terrorists and before you know it you have excitement overload
In the past, author Robert Thornhill has used his Lady Justice action/mystery/comic series to present theoretical scenarios of possible catastrophes. This one, Lady Justice and Terror on the Tracks, is every national security agent’s worst nightmare. Computer hacking is a fine art that is employed by all the worst political groups around the world…and we hack into their sites, as well. We have seen a world that used hot tar over the castle walls, move to modern annihilation by nuclear bombs, and now to the not so remote chance of totally paralyzing a nation without physical destruction through the use of cyber-attacks. In the latest episode of Walt Williams’ constant fight for truth, justice and the American way, we find him, along with his private detective brother-in-law fending off just such a possibility as the enemy seeks to paralyze the United States by totally freezing the transportation of goods and services via rail in the heart of the country, Kansas City, MO. But these three terrorists are satisfied to just stop the rail traffic in the country’s second largest hub, they also want to create a gigantic environmental disaster that will destroy a large swath in the heartland…killing, maiming, and scarring forever the landscape and the people. True to form, there are some funny moments in the story, but the overriding message is clear: we need to be ever vigilant as this scenario is all too real a possibility. We know Walt will win, but will we in our future? This is an excellent cozy, but with an edge that makes the reader keep thinking about the story long after the last page is turned. One of Thornhill’s best to date!
If one really things about what is possible from computer hacking to terrorist plots, it is rather terrifying. However, somehow we keep the balance somewhat in check. In this book, several plots could happen in actuality. Walt and others are always at the right (or maybe wrong) place for all of the plots that they thwart throughout the book. And even though the subject matter is very serious, humor is still there in abundance. Good outcomes in some heartrending situations are there as well. I also very much appreciate the research and real photographs that have to do with the subject matter. Kudos to you Mr. Thornhill for another great and fun read!
Lady Justice and Terror on the Tracks (Lady Justice, #41) by Robert Thornhill
Three terrorists have been sent to Kansas City to sabotage the railroad and create an environmental disaster. This is a huge problem as Kansas City is the second largest train hub across the country. Walt is on the case in a race for time to save the day and stop this impending disaster.
A fantastic original plot with page turning suspense. Included are some fascinating photos that capture the feel of the story (that) brought me deeper into Walt's world. I found the story captivating and chilling, as (I feel) this could actually happen. Overall I found Lady Justice and Terror on the Tracks very enjoyable and feel other mystery/suspense lovers will as well. A great read.
I enjoyed this book and think the author is back doing what he does best, giving you an adventure that you will enjoy and sometimes laugh at. This is one of the books in this long running series that I enjoy, just a mystery and not a conspiracy or a book with a deeper meaning. Just lots of small funny case or situations that are all connected. All the gang is there which is what makes these books so great, the fun and varied personalities of the characters. I love it the way the old timers foil the terrorists plans at every turn, sometimes just by being in the right place at the right time. It was also interesting to learn how venerable we are and the lengths or plans that terrorists might go to because they make for an entertaining story. I would like more books like this one and can't wait for the next book. When three terrorists plan attacks on Kansas City Walt Williams and the old timers are there to protect the train tracks and power grid. Walt and his friends are doing a good deed, bringing a group of homeless people some food and with that act of kindness they make some new friends, get to drive a run away train, get kidnapped, find a bomb and save the city. It's all in a days work for Walt Williams. George Kutch is still be far the best choice for this series because with all the audio books I have listened to I don't think think anyone else would come close to sounding right for Walt and the gang
Lady Justice and Terror on the Tracks (Lady Justice, #41) is my forty-first enjoyable read/listen from author Robert Thornhill. Another entertaining clean read, filled with puns & one-liners, as always dealing with current social topics, I loved the author's paying homage to the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. Each book in the series seems better than the last as Thornhill continues to up his game. Narrator George Kuch again adds greatly to the listening enjoyment with his wide variety of entertaining voices & inflections, over the course of over forty Audible books, Kuch IS Walt Williams! I’ll definitely be reading more from Thornhill! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I look forward to reading Lady Justice and the Bounty Hunter (Lady Justice #42). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
( Format : Audiobook ) "The right place at the right time." Walt, his dad, and Walt's partner Kevin are back in fine form, with brother Mark also putting in an appearance for Homeland security. Jerry is ready with a quirky comment or dreadful joke and this time it is a series of attacks via the railroad system set to undermine the economy and public confidence which mostly demands their attention.
With narrator George Kuch again becoming Walt Williams, the 70 something P.I. telling the story of what happened - always performed perfectly - this is another successful part comic, part thrilling, part thought provoking tale in the Lady Justice series. Always a pleasure to read.
Another chance to laugh and learn with Walt and the gang. A terrorist cell has targeted several major sites related to the Kansas City railroad hub and each time their goals are foiled by a few senior citizens and their law enforcement contacts. Laugh at many things, learn about railroads and how a few homeless saw something important, and lots more. Each book can easily stand alone, but it's hard to stop with just one! Narrator George Kuch knows just how to perform the characters and add to the fun.
Another great book by Robert Thornhill. The series Lady Justice is amazing 41 books so far in this series and all are great. This book is a little shorter than the other books but it is still just as funny, full of adventure and mystery. George Kuch is the wonderful narrator for this series. George does an incredible job of reading this book.
I was lucky that I got this book as a free download. Another great book by Robert Thornhill. The series Lady Justice is amazing, 41 books so far in this series and all are great. This book is a little shorter than the other books but it is still just as funny, full of adventure, mystery, fast moving and very entertaining.
EVERYTHING now relies on computers. Disrupt one thing and no telling what might happen! Another wonderful adventure with Walt & the gang. When the bad guys showed up at the Three Trails ... I just couldn't imagine WHO they would run into 😁
Wow. This one definitely has some action and close calls! As always, I love this group of seniors and seeing how it always seems like the danger falls in Walt’s lap! Such a fun listen and an amazing series.
Another good story with some danger, terrorists, suspense and a lot of funny scenes. Some crudeness which I could have done without, but it was so much fun to watch the old guys outdo the younger ones at solving crimes.
Lady Justice and Terror on the Tracks (Lady Justice #41) by Robert Thornhill
Walt and Kevin help catch railroad cooper thieves and stumble into another terrorist plot. Lots of action and suspense will keep the listener held captive. Always
enjoy the settings around Kansas City. It's great to see the gang of older folks out preforming the younger generation when it comes to solving the crimes.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. I love George Kuch!!! He brings these characters to life!!!
