Minus America #3

Rebel Cause

Rate this book
America is down, but never count it out

It has been said America is impossible to conquer because there are guns behind every blade of grass.

But what if there was no one left to pull the triggers?

The Minus America series imagines this world. The story continues ...

Ted and Emily work tirelessly to avoid the enemy, but the noose continues to close, even as he makes contact with his niece. While rescuing her is always a priority, he might have a lead on the nuclear briefcase stolen from him on day 1. Hard choices are ahead.

Tabby accepts her family is gone, but she has no intention of giving up her home. Does she have what it takes to fight back against an enemy hidden behind technological superiority?

Dwight finds himself at the tip of the spear of the enemy invasion. He may be powerless to stop it, but he begins to think he might be able to slow it down.

Continue the journey with these last few Americans as they explore what's left of their homeland, dutifully avoid the spreading infection of the invasion force, and take the first tentative steps toward a rebellion. Unlike wars for freedom in the past, they have no allies and no reinforcements. It's time to see what they're made of.

If you enjoy a mixture of apocalyptic exploration, a little pew-pew, and long-odds rebellion against an unseen enemy, check out Rebel Cause, the third book in the Minus America series. Book 4, Two Wolves and a Sheep, will be available soon.

E.E. Isherwood has been a storyteller for over 30 years. Initially the muse took the form of childish comic strips. As a teen it manifested itself under the guise of Dungeons and Dragons adventures. In college it culminated with a Master's thesis on Missouri geography—an extremely boring kind of story. Three decades and several careers later he realized that siren song never stopped, so he began to author books. A life-long enthusiast of apocalyptic fiction, writing about zombies was his passion. Future titles in science fiction and fantasy are in the hopper. He lives in the St. Louis, Missouri area, where his series of zombie books takes place.

Stayed up last night until 3:30am!

Another great book (3) and the characters are coming along nicely.! A fast paced story and it looks like the good guys are thinking on their feet... I mean the trouble these guys get into is always balanced by the way they use their heads sometimes with seconds to spare. You will fall in love with Deogee and Biscuit too! I cracked up laughing in the middle of the night when I started a new chapter from the Dogs point of view! Sound crazy? Maybe, but it’s very cleverly done and it fits in Beautifully! I’m still laughing at some of their antics as they try to understand what the Humans are dealing with, and try to help out as best as a couple of buddy dogs can! I hope they survive “the bad place”.
Need Book 4 as soon as you possibly can!

The characters in this series have really grown on me and I want them to meet one another and kick arse together. I also love how the author has given Deogee a voice.

Side Bar: I wanted my sister to name her dog, Deogee but she went with Tatum instead.

Anyway... I can't believe I have to wait until freaking June to find out what happens to all of my favourite good guys. I want more of the series NOW, darn it.

Amazing

That’s what this series is “Amazing”. It is going to be hard waiting on book four. I am so invested in these characters and where the story takes them. I feel like they along with Deogie and Biscuit are part of my inner circle. I can’t wait to see what adventure they get into in the next book.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed with the supposedly mastermind. Additionally the stumbling around of the characters continued.
It is not really believable delivered that this hand full of people, realistically have a chance to stop David.
It has potential.

And now I am mad at myself, I never start reading series when they are not fully published yet. Sigh

I love this apocalyptic/dystopian series and Rebel Cause, book 3, is imho the best yet! I have been up very late this night to turn these pages as quickly as I could. It is that exciting! There are several story arcs and I have come to care for all of the true Americans. I almost came unglued when the Texans sought revenge. I can hardly wait for book 4 and, in case you can’t tell, I highly recommend the entire series. The books need to be read in order or you will be missing a lot of information.

Rebel Cause

There is so much going on that it is hard to stop reading. And when this book ended I was thinking about withdrawal, because I am addicted to this series. Profanity is not used in place of words, the characters have character. The unpredictable nature of the villain is unnatural, he is truly evil and does not know it. Totally a book to read, but I am not liking having to wait for the next book. Please hurry!

These three books are the best I have read in a long time. The characters are very likeable and the story is wound around so you sometimes don't know the good guys from the bad guys. I have really enjoyed reading them and can't wait for number 4

The story line is great and the characters are very interesting. Please write faster I don't want to wait till June for the next book. Thank you for not killing off the four legged furry heros. I love the parrot.

A Different Apocalyptic Tale

So good I am telling everyone about this great plot and very different storyline. The characters are so real and yet very normal. Typical American exceptionalism! I am also rooting for the dogs!

Keeps me going

I am thoroughly engaged with this series! Isherwood has a very good writing style and develops the story with interesting and very believable characters. The weapon “David” used is scary as hell! There’s more to learn that was just hinted at by the end of this episode … so - off to read the next book. I’m not getting much done around the house, good thing I’m not working ;-)

Entertaining

Most Americans have disappeared leaving only the clothing they were wearing behind. The few left behind are beginning to glimpse what is really going on. But they are being hunted and killed by the followers of an insane industrialist out to rule the earth.

Well written story with interesting characters and intriguing situations.

Keep it coming

Awe this just keeps getting better and better! At first I didn't like the homeless guy. Couldn't figure out where you were going with him. But each character is getting well developed so I'm following right along.!

Entertaining, but at times a tad slow and sophomoric. I will continue reading the series.

This is an author I've discovered this month and I can't wait until the next volume comes out. The stories from different locations with their own main characters is manipulated quite well!

Wish that every book series was this good.

Gave it this rating because once I started reading it was hard to stop. It's a good thing I'm retired, bad thing is I only read in the "reading room or library." and my feet and legs go to sleep. Thankfully we have more than one in our house. I didn't mind the missing words or misspellings they didn't detract from the book series at all. Recommend this series to anyone.

Outstanding series

If you haven’t read the series, you’re missing out. America is under attack. Is it aliens, a foreign country or a power hungry politician? Plus, can the attacked come back? Is she who he thinks she is? So many questions for a thrill ride of a story.

A-

A little disappointing from books 1 & 2. Too much running. They never stop, no one has that kind of endurance. Do not buy that David would have any interest in Tabby. Do not like dogs pov

More and more exciting!

I brought in the new year reading this book because I just couldn’t put it down! It’s now about 2AM and as I’m writing this review I’m trying to talk myself into going to sleep instead of starting book four...don’t think I’ll succeed. Grin

I really love the scenes with Deogee and Biscuit!!! I also love the developing relationship between Ted and Emily. I'm hoping that Meechum isn't a traitor!
