My best friend gave me this name when the world came to an end and we said our goodbyes. She told me to write everything that happened to me after the outbreak, and promised she’d read it one day. This is my story. It’s not always pretty, but I suppose life isn’t pretty, either. Not with the Dead walking amongst us. But my men and I will do whatever it takes to find safety. Together, we’ll rely on each other to fight the Dead and the world that is crumbling around us. This is a Why Choose romance novel with adult themes
Sarah Bale's family always knew she would write romances when they saw the elaborate stories she created for her Barbie dolls. At fifteen she penned her first book, which will never see the light of day if she has any say.
When Sarah isn't writing, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and also planning what she’d do in a zombie apocalypse. One of her favorite pastimes is attending comic cons, where she can nerd out over all things Marvel.
She is a USA Today Bestselling Author living in Oklahoma and doesn't plan on leaving any time soon.
I Received this Book From BookSprout for Honest Review. I Give this book a 3.5 out of 5 Star Rating, Listing as 3.
Heat: 3/5, It could’ve been written better cause it was a bit fast and no depth. Romance: 3/5, I just didn’t really believe the connections all that much. Due to discrepancies between the character that later didn’t seem important. Suspense: 3.5/5 Drama: 3.5/5 Overall: 3.5/5: The Book is good, but my issue is that it was a bit teen fiction feel. The men acted like teenage boys so it was hard to picture them actually older. The mother was very predictable, and then her message was blatantly obvious before I even got to reading it. My biggest issue was no sense of time. Paige: My issue with her is that she was a bit naive at several points. Also for how old she is, she’s conveniently clueless about how she teases men, the doe-eyes innocence...that was a bit of an eye roll moment for me.
I would love to read more from this Author, I did enjoy this book!

It has a good plotline, but it's missing so much to backstories. It has okay character, though not consistent, and the plot does well in conveying strife with looking for food, dealing with people and the lack of trust of other people, but everything happens between the scenes. I get zero relationship ship building, and much of the time spent is portrayed through letters for a no longer present character. It was a bit of a let down for me, a person who loves dystopian zombie books.
A wonderful story, well written with a fantastic storyline. It feels like it needs a bit more details here and there but otherwise it was great, sat down and devoured it in one sitting. Would love to know if Jodi found those notes.
An interesting read. I thought the characters were mostly enjoyable, the men slightly more so than Paige. The book was well written. The plot was interesting. This was definitely a short romantic driven story.
For being so well written and (mostly) likable characters it was definitely a romance driven story.
While the romance was steamy, sweet, and almost perfect [lets be bones nothing ever perfect] it did not have much of a driving story.
*spoiler*We got to see the world end, and her first couple relationships start, and then a series of summaries about the next three years in the form of letters. While that is necessarily bad, it didn’t quite do it for me. I love a good romance, a story without it to me is just bland; but the same in reverse is true. I need some driving story and plot in my romance or it’s just boring.
While I wouldn’t call it boring or bland, it could have used a little more action and excitement. And while the tension with Austin was somewhat believe-able... I found it off putting in general. He came across an asshole, and she came across as childish during the fights (at least to me).

*eh a lil spoilery* I really enjoyed this one! Paige was sassy and made me laugh out loud in the beginning. My one main thought was I wished we could have gotten to see the development of Darren and Paige's relationship. It was just BAM 3 year later, and then the flow got a little funky after that. Could be a format thing as well so wasn't a super big deal. I would have loved a lillll more danger action not just hints of what had been happening over the years as well but was still thoroughly entertained. Also glad the period issue was covered eventually because every zombie apocalypse book I read I yell WHAT ABOUT THE TAMPONS. I'd love me some extra povs too so I can get a feel for the other characters but I liked em all fine. Even stubborn freaking Austin, who I probably would have understood better with some explanation of what has gone wrong as they bounced around over the years. BUT overall got to say, yes would read more definitely keeping my eyeballs on this author.

I really enjoyed this first book in the series. The world building made this story feel realistic and believable. I enjoyed the interaction with the characters and how the story flowed from one point to the next. My only issue was some parts of the plot moved faster than others and I would've loved more detail in the character development and story movement. But other than that, I enjoyed the story and have high hopes for book 2! Well done. Engaging, interesting and terrifying all in one beautiful creation.

I managed to gobble up this book in one sitting! I love apocalyptic books. Seeing how things begin to fall apart and how the main characters deal with their circumstances is my favorite part. This book had great world building and the characters seemed to have just the right amount of not only fear but adjustment to their new circumstances. Now some *spoilers*
The tragic circumstances around her mother's suicide and the note were gut wrenching! Also I had hoped for some resolution with Jodi. But maybe that leaves an opening for a Jodi book? Guess we'll see! All in all I really enjoyed this book!!

Great story!! It was all there, the set up for romance, the turmoil at home, the best friend with the parents that were supportive. Tragedy strikes and the twist begins. I did feel rushed though, like I was being given facts of events, nothing detailed out or a buildup. Especially toward the end of the story.

Austin,Rhys, Darren and Paige set off on their journey after a dangerous disease starts taking over. It’s like a zombie apocalypse. Paige and her men keep moving barely staying alive, looking for a safe haven. Can they ever find what they are looking for? Can they survive without getting bit? Join them on their journey and find out. Great read

I read this book in one sitting, which is pretty impressive as it takes a lot to hold my attention. This book was not only HOT, but had a lot of heart and was also quite funny.
The fmc is strong and knows when to put her foot down, her harem is really varied and I’ve got to say is one of my favourite harem group dynamics EVER! My only complaint is that there’s not more!

I really enjoyed this story. I liked the characters and of course the plot. RH? Zombies? Count me in. Towards the end it seems to rush. The 3rd guy is just added to the har we don’t really get to connect to him and get to know him the we do the others and one chapter was just notes in a diary that help fast forward the story and se to skip a lot of there journey. But I deff recommend this book.
This story has a good plot line! This is a unique zombie apocalypse novel. At points I did struggle with the pace of the book, but it is still a good read. I enjoyed this very much and am very intrigued and interested in future works by Sarah Bale.

This Book Was so good I couldn’t put my tablet down. I can’t believe Paige’s mom is so hateful. Paige deserved better then her parents ever gave her. I’m glad she found love she absolutely deserves . This whole screwup situation brought them closer together.
I’ve never read anything like this, a zombie outbreak. And I have to say I loved it! The fighting for survival, the love, and the happily ever after. This book has everything I love reading. I can’t wait to see what else this author has written. She’s gained a new fan!
I loved this story and character development , I especially enjoyed when the characters from a previous series that I had read were intertwined! I hope we will get Jodi’s story in the future.

I absolutely loved this book! I was hooked from the first page. It’s an easy read and a great story. I love how the guys and her happened as naturally as possible in an apocalypse. I also really loved how the author made time pass with all the letters. A great, sting story. I highly recommend.
Absolutely AMAZING! I don't think I have ever got so worked up about a book before. My emotions were so into the characters and the situations as I read them, that I felt like I was actually in the book!
