Priznávam spoluvinu mojej generácie na tom, že zatvárame oči pred tým, čo ešte stále drží našu budúcnosť v hnátoch minulosti.
A som rada že táto kniha existuje pre to, aby tú našu slepotu osvetlila.
(PS: ano..reálne máme pomník pre Vasiľa Biľaka a naši vysokí politici dávajú kvety na Husákov hrob)

Knížka složená s portrétních článků, dobře se čte, vybrané osobě vždy věnováno cca 6 stran. Průřez jmen dobrý, reprezentativní - Jakeš, Štěpán, Lorenc. Některá jména zbytečná - Urbánek - některá možná zbytečně šokující - Gott. Gottova role v normalizaci si asi zaslouží zvláštní roli a větší prostor. Objevného asi kniha tolik nepřináší, jakožto charakterově selhávající jsou aktéři odsouzeni již dávno, ale určitě užitečný souhrn, vyargumentované portréty, byť s předem jasným vyzněním.

A collection of texts about several important figures of the communist regime. They are not trying to be critical in any purposeful way, rather they try to describe the role of people in their time and why they did what they did.
I'm glad that such books are being produced, because one gets at least a little glimpse of events that are not entirely distant, but at the same time ones that one has not experienced anymore, and which still influence current events.
