I'm the Enforcer for the Demented Sons MC, I don't do beach hook-ups with a prim-ass school teacher. And I sure as hell don't obsess over the chick afterward. But that's exactly what I did.
Remembering every inch of her luscious body, every damn sound she’d uttered—I fell into a hole I couldn’t crawl out of. A five foot nothing, legs for days, hole.
No choice, I made a decision. Come hell or high water, the school teacher was gonna be mine...
Except I didn’t realize she had a past I couldn’t survive.
Second book in the spin off series A Demented Son's MC Texas series. This is really good.
Maddox aka Styx has been screwed up by women in the past and doesn't really trust them now. All he needs is what's between their legs. Club is out of town, staying by the beach when a drunk woman from the house next door comes down to the beach at night and pretty much faceplants right in front of him. One night stand is all he's up for until he runs into her at a coffee shop.
I'll give you one hint about this book...it's not who you think it is...on to the next book....
Some surprises are fabulous, like face planting in the sand right in front of a sexy biker Viking. Some surprises are absolutely terrorizing, like having a stalker that no one seems to be able to find. This book was awesome and the love story of Styx and Gwen heated up the pages. Read it!
this author takes forever to get into the drama of the plot. I persisted in book 1 so tried book 2. but this one just didn't do it for me. Styx is an almost too good to be true hero and Gwen starts out bold and sassy but then becomes stupid and dum as the story goes on. then add nil communication and ridiculous hesitation from both H's and secrets that just didn't mesh with the emotional build up. it's totally up and down and clues that are written have been deliberately missed when they should have be obvious. it's starts to ramble which gives you the hot and cold confusing plot line. could not get it to gel.....gah! and as much as I like steamy scenes these happen over and over..its just too much. even a devastating secret turns to hot sex. and a left field ending is toooooo far left field and I have to ask...who are the people you call when your having a major crisis??? they. we're absent can't do anymore...sorry Ms Allen
Things I think about when reading… •Why keep secrets, I hate it. •They are pretty cute together! •Not much to say about this one, other then it wont be my last.
H rating: 5/5 - Styx. Minus his one minor freak out when she tried to break up with him, I really loved him
h rating:4.5/5 - Gwen. Loved loved loved, but I did not like her keeping that initial note a secret, I understood it, yes, but I did not like it.
Drama:4/5 - It's an MC of course there is drama..
Thoughts:So even though I kind of had it guessed on who the stalker was I still did enjoy this one. Am excited to continue the series, but I am also wondering about this band..I need to see if there is a reading order too..
Thoroughly enjoyable characters with an interesting believable story right out of the media. Crazy ex boyfriend and ex girlfriend, delusional ex friend, a brotherhood of family all members of a motorcycle club, an over the top family, a chance meeting ment to be only one night, sexual chemistry, romance, plenty of twists and turns, a little mystery and intrigue makes for one fantastic story you won't want to put down, well worth your time to read. Make sure once you start you are prepared to binge read, the whole series will keep your interest right from the start.
I bet he's one sexy nurse!! When Styx thought he might have had a happily ever after boy was he wrong cause of cheating slut of a ex gf since he caught them. He thought his live wouldn't b the same and 4 a while it wasn't until he found a surprise. Gwent mom and sis r stupid bitches especially his sis. When things started going crazy they had 2 figure out who was causing it and stop them. The only problem was the person was Simone they never suspected. It was hard at 1st cause she was trying 2 save him until he figured out what was happening. It was awesome!! It flowed fast and I can't pit this series down!!
An amazing book! If you have never read any books by Kristine Allen you should definitely try this series. Spoil alert. “Styx. For the love of God, fuck me!” He wasted no time. One quick kiss to my pubic bone, and his lips crashed to mine as he impaled me on his throbbing length. Gasping into his mouth, I dug my nails into his shoulders. Every muscle in his back tensed as he held himself still. Savoring the fullness of him buried deep within me, I wrapped my legs around his thighs. Once you start you will not want to put it down! Grab the book it is out now!

This book is a hard read. The weirdness starts at the beginning and doesn’t ever really end. I almost gave up on the book but eventually powered through. There were several issues. It was like the author tried to cram a duet into one book. I was so annoyed. There was obvious issues with the main characters’ exes. Including the cop. But then the twist at the end was just reaching. I felt like it was obvious who the bad guy was but the twist was stretching it too far. The entire Billy situation was too far. Like the story needed any more drama. Very cliche.
Whew love Styx and Gwen's story .. Have to tell ya there are so many things happening almost got whiplash trying to figure out who was responsible .. Just as I thought I had it figured out bam ... No spoiler .. but I never saw that one coming😀😀so glad I found Kristine Allen .. Love that she incorporates a military thread
This book wasn’t bad. The beginning was definitely intriguing and I did enjoy the whole biker nurse and teacher thing that the couple had going on. There just was something missing that had me not get through this one as fast. Not a bad read but just not my favorite.
This is the kind of MC book I like. I don't like the one-percenters and the dark violent types, and I like the male lead to be protective. But, I'm also not quite sold on instalove. Both Styx and Gwen can't stop thinking about each other after their first meeting, but they don't know a thing about each other except that they had amazing sex, so... instalust at the beginning, but it really quickly became instalove the moment they met again after their hookup/one night stand.
Styx being an ER trauma nurse was an unusual choice of occupation, and he also is much more in touch with his emotions and open to talking about how he feels than the typical MC brother. I wasn't sure if I bought it, especially with him being ex-military, but I suppose I shouldn't stereotype. It's just that he fell so hard and so fast for Gwen and didn't even fight it despite his ex's betrayal, it was like what happened with his ex had no effect on him.
Similarly, Gwen also had an ex who had cheated on her (why are the exes always bad? Don't authors have any other way of drumming up drama or creating conflict?) and that also didn't make her wary of Styx or hesitant in any way. She just jumped right in with him and trusted everything he said, and never second-guessed him or questioned his motives.
I found this so odd, like why give both Gwen and Styx that kind of background but then never use it? There's no reason for Styx to believe that Gwen would never cheat on him with anyone, and also no reason for Gwen to believe that Styx would stay faithful to her. They hardly even know each other. The exes became just a plot mechanism for them to turn up at occasionally and try to create trouble for the couple, but even then they were quickly dealt with or brushed away. They didn't contribute anything to the story.
I kept feeling that Gwen wasn't that smart. Bad things happen to her and she continually reacts either to brush them off or to keep them to herself, instead of getting the cops involved. And I was also perplexed why Styx never put two and two together after she gave him Billy's full name. The family name didn't ring a bell? It doesn't seem to be such a common name and the aristocratic-sounding thing should have rang a bell if he knew anything about the coworkers that he was friends with and hung out with all the time.
The villain came out of left field and the dual motives made it like the author was trying too hard. Revenge would have been sufficient; jealousy and the delusion about Styx was just too much, especially since the person had never indicated any interest in Styx before. Also why would the person have slashed Styx's tyre then? Nothing made sense here. Egging Gwen's car also was juvenile and seemed more like a prank than a threat. There was no consistency or build-up to the actions, like normally a person who is unhinged tends to escalate as time goes on but this person didn't have any fixed pattern.
Styx and Stones is book 2 in ‘The Demented Sons MC – Texas’ series by Kristine Allen. The story focuses on Styx and Gwen. Styx is the Enforcer for his MC, but his life gets turned on its head when he is betrayed by someone he loves, and it leaves him feeling desolate about a lot of things. That changes one night when he meets Gwen, a sweet schoolteacher , who he spends one magical night with. Not thinking he’ll ever meet the strait-laced woman again; he goes all out….but fate has a way of intervening and throwing Gwen back into his path.
Styx and Gwen just seem to work. Although Styx has a lot of rough edges, he is also super sweet and we see that in the way he treats Gwen, who having just got out of a bad relationship it a little bit anxious about starting a new relationship. Especially someone from a motorcycle club, has tattoos and doesn’t seem to fit into a box she’s created. Gwen has also been hurt in the past and this comes out in the way she lives her life and interacts with people, always thinking she isn’t good enough, but Styx soon changes that perception.
This is a really good addition to the new series. There is enough angst, passion and twist and turns to keep you turning the pages. Of course, if you love your men sexy and alpha, then you’re going to love this book. A wonderful story with some great characters!
Styx thought he had found the one and it ended up being the biggest mistake of his life. Needing a break he heads out with his MC to let loose and have a vacation but he still is unsettled that is until a hot drunk woman lands in his lap. One thing leads to another and a night he can't forget has him walking away. Fate though has other plans when he literally runs into her at a coffee shop, little did he know Gwen lived in the same town and he gets a second shot of perhaps building something with the woman he regretted letting go.
Gwen isn't sure she wants another relationship, her past relationships have been disasters. Styx though knows she is special and even if it kills him he is going to take it slow but mayhem has been surrounding his MC and he doesn't want Gwen caught in the crossfire. A threat though that is coming directly at Gwen has her feeling gun shy, can she trust in Styx to keep her safe?
Amazing, I am truly enjoying this series. This book is completely different then the first book. I was wrapped up in this story, couldn't put down. Styx was fascinating, he is a nurse, biker, and overall badass. I loved the way he was with Gwen, chemistry was through the charts.
From the first book of the series, I was instantly intrigued by the funny, hot male nurse and enforcer of the Demented Sons MC. And I have to say his story did not disappoint! In the beginning, we see him go through a horrible betrayal from his long-term girlfriend Grace. He tries to move on the best he can but having been burned by her, the woman he thought loved him and was the love of his life and he was considering marriage with left him distrustful of all women. That is until he goes down to Galveston, TX, with his club for the biker rally, and while there, he meets a beautiful teacher. Gwen is staying at the beach rental next to his MCs with a few of her friends and coworkers. They both go down to the beach in search of quiet time and instead find each other. They instantly hit it off, and the rest is history! They certainly don't have it easy afterward. They have to jump through many hoops to be together, but in the end, love prevails, and they get their well-deserved happily ever after! ❤️ I can't wait to see what happens with Smoke the Prez of the Demented Sons MC.
Oh how I love Styx!! In the other books in this series (and it seems in most MC series) the H is always a jerk at first. Not here. Styx was so sweet and funny and wonderful with Gwen from the very beginning. He swore off woman after his skanky “almost” fiancé cheated on him. But when he met Gwen, he was all in almost immediately. Qwen was beautiful and funny and they were so damn adorable together. They go through some stuff because there’s psycho stalker. But these two were just beyond perfect for each other. While there is some drama, their story isn’t as “angsty” as some of her other books and I kind of liked that.
I am enjoying this series and really liked this story. I have been skipping around in all the intertwining books of this author. The things that bothered me were, 1) She gets hurt in the end but her family never showed up when she was shot, 2) The ex boyfriend just stopped the harassment, 3) How did Sabrina get the code? Was it from his using her phone, or did he leave stuff open. He had a security system, did he check his cameras, 4) Too much of a coincidence that the night after telling Styx about Billy she was shot. I know this series in older but as I say in my reviews, details matter.
This story is kinda a mystery with lots of falling in love with the biker/nurse and teacher. There are so many crazy ex's and grudge carrying crazies in this story its kinda a mystery who maybe the actual threat until the end. It almost ends too quickly as the couple don't actually become engaged in the story its all kind of a rap up after the fact at the end. I liked the story and if you enjoy a mystery where you might figure out who it is... Its possible to figure it out but the entire picture is only given at the very ending.
Another amazing read from the wicked talented author Kristine Allen. Love Styx and Gwen's story. Did not see who was tormented Gwen till it happened. Their story was crazy got.
Favorite quote: Styx ~ "There are moments in our lives where everything reaches a point of clarity. Where everything makes sense and feels right. Where we know with certainty we are on the right path."
Wow !!! Another awesome read in this awesome series, I was captivated with " Lock " the first book in this Texas Chapter being a lover of MC Bikers stories and now I'm hooked 😊. I love these strong alpha men and the women who captures their heart, this is a very well written story and I can't wait for the next story in the lives of the Demented Sons MC Texas Chapter !!!!!!!!
Really digging the Demented Sons. Styx was a great character! It was nice to have a male nurse. Always love the military angle. The fact that the brothers from the other stories come into the story too is great. When was a nice girl and very identifiable to most women.
I LOVED Styx and Gwen so much. I dont even know the right words to express how fantastic this story is. The twists and turns are phenomenal. The chemistry was out of this world. Every I read one of Kristine's books I think it's my favorite until I read the next one. I just cant decide they are all so fantastic.
This was an emotional, heartbreaking, intriguing, and intense story. With the fantastic characters, lots of humor, drama, angst, and many surprise twists and turns, it's certainly not a story that you will want to miss. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and great author.
Book two is Styx and Gwen's story and I love it. These bikers are so tough and sexy but sweet and protective around the ones the love. So many MC books will mention the brotherhood but you can really feel the connection between these brothers. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
Styx and Gwen are the featured couple of this book and they are AMAZING. They have a very smexy meet and then realize they have been under each others noses for a long time. Once they reconnect- it’s full throttle ahead. Lots of mystery and intrigue and drama in a well developed storyline. I LOVED it!
