The rules of the She-Wolf Games are simple.

1. Get out of the cage first.
2. Don’t waste time shifting into a wolf.
3. Never stop running.
4. Don’t get caught.
5. Repeat every night until the games are over...or you escape.

With werewolves on the brink of extinction, packs from everywhere came together in an attempt to overcome their differences. The creation of the She-Wolf Games did just that, bringing peace among the territories as packs work toward the same goal: Save their species.

Usually, I’d be touched at such a monumental occasion, but I had no idea werewolves existed. Or that female werewolves were a commodity and the ultimate prize.

I figured it out fast after encountering a beautiful wolf outside my apartment building. If only the cute sucker hadn’t bitten me.

Because now, I find myself as one of three she-wolves among a few dozen men competing for a chance to fill a spot in my new pack. Four scary-hot werewolves who all get to claim me. And they will do anything to win the She-Wolf Games. It’s for a good cause, right? Too bad I’m going to assure they all lose.

This is a sizzling hot reverse harem paranormal romance. Get ready for sparks to fly as the games begin.

Nope No. No No No No No NOPITY NO NO.

I was hopeful this was going to be a cool rise above the odds, take back your independence and beat the shit out of a bunch of disgusting assholes.

What I got was a load of sexism, creepy rapey content, and a lot of anger.

It's apparently not okay to be kidnapped. But it IS okay to be kidnapped by a bunch of attractive men who say creepy shit to you like "You're gorgeous" or "Those pouty lips must taste delicious" or even "it won't hurt, you'll get a lot of pleasure." They even fucking put her in a pink room which apparently each female gets their own fucking room designed to fit them. ITS FUCKING CREEPY. BUT OH ITS NATURAL BECAUSE IT'S INSTINCTUAL TO WEREWOLVES I GUESS.

This is literally the shit that rapists say to their victims. Literally. Word for word. But OH ITS SOOOO SEXY AND MAKES THE HEROINE SWOON BECAUSE THE PEOPLE SAYING IT ARE ATTRACTIVE I GUESS. And she JUST CAN'T HELP HERSELF. And they're like 'oh if she's scared and crying it's not as much fun to chase her through the FUCKING WOODS CLAIMING TO FUCK HER BRAINS OUT AND BE HER MATES BY FORCE.' You Don't Say.

I'm so angry I'm crying. This feels so disrespectful to women and rape victims. What's the point in making a strong heroine if she just falls in love and fucks her own kidnapping rapists. So what if she can throw a punch? It means nothing when the person whose supposed to represent a strong woman is dominated (and enjoys it) by a bunch of kidnapping, sexist, rapey pieces of shit. It hurts on a deep level, especially as someone whose been a victim of stalking. Even more so when it seems that this is written by another woman. I feel a little betrayed.

Lyric is having the worst day of her life, or so she thinks. Little does she know that everything she thinks she knows is about to be turned upside down and she's thrown into a world she never knew existed. Enter the She-wolf games, where the prize is her. Or is it?
I absolutely loved this take on pack life where the men compete for a spot and the women are the alphas. And the mystery surrounding everything? Who is telling Lyric the truth? Is anyone. So excited for more of this series and to find out what happens next

"I voluntarily received this book for an honest review"
This is a very intrigue new story idea surrounding wolf shapeshifters. The author did an astonishing job with the world building and the characters. Lyric is a strong kick ass female and I love it. Each of her mates compliment her in different ways. There was nonstop action and hot scenes throughout. Cant wait for the next book in the series.

Sooo if you’re into Omegaverse and why-choose, this book is absolutely for you. Yeah, it’s a little weird—but oh my god, it’s fun and steamy.

The yearning is deliciously intense, and the plot keeps you guessing.
I love that the FMC is completely feral and unhinged - exactly how a she-wolf should be.

Also, I’m listening to the audiobook narrated by Auri Alden and… I think I’ve found my new favorite female narrator. Omg 😍

Premise is good, but not enough plot

The premise is good but not enough plot. I will read the next one to hopefully see more plot unfold and that the heroine will actually win sometimes instead of always losing. I thought she would win at least once, but she doesn’t despite her intense training etc.

Lots of people betray her too.

Anyways I will read the next one to see if it improves

I was put off by the central plot. The take on being kidnapped and forced into a mate bond.
I finished the book but the whole time I was questioning myself why.

I think the author does well with the writing but this specific trope is not for me.

Stockholm Syndrome

The author starts by digging herself into a hole with the premise of the story and the motivations of the characters. A group of men chase and attack a woman. The men then kidnap her, keeping her locked in a literal cage. She is informed that she has to “compete” in a “game” wherein the men all get to take turns using her until she dies of old age.

The author tries to convince readers that because the fmc has transient thoughts that some of the men are physically attractive, that the fmc wants to be sexually assaulted by multiple men and subjected to forced births for the rest of her life. How does the author attempt to circumvent consent and justify the repeated physical attacks, including keeping the fmc locked in a cage? The men can all hear her thoughts. Of course, the author pointedly has all of the men conveniently ignore her thoughts about being held captive or her terror regarding what the author says is supposed to be a fun game. No, no, all they hear is that she thinks they have big penises.

I can’t decide how I feel about this book to rate it accurately after just reading it. I'm surprised -since it stirred up an emotional rollercoaster for me on my opinion of the book (not the story itself). So I’m going to have to think about this before I can give it a real review, not a knee jerk reaction review.

Not quite 3 & 1/2 stars.
Ok, after doing some thinking on this, I still don't know what to make of this. I did like parts of it, it was unique with a twist that kept me reading & wanting to know what happens next. But then there were parts I hated, like her being captured & put in these she-wolf games against her will, and was in a way very Stockholm syndrome-sort of thing with her RH. I'm not a big fan of that sort of thing. The counsel was doing a lot of manipulations to try to get the outcome they wanted as well, that also infuriated me. Lyric is strong character, and learns fast (also learning the world building), and I think that if a reader can give credit to the paranormal aspect side of the story that leads to insta-love/fated mates- most of the time for these paranormal creatures, it can help to over-look the Stockholm syndrome type thing -to a degree. I want to learn more about the guys in the RH, and what happens next, so I will read the next book in the series.

The concept was interesting, but execution was terrible.

The heroine falling in love with kidnappers wasn’t shocking unfortunately. A lot of books within this genre has a tendency to take red flags and make them “attractive”. It’s something some people might want to be aware of before reading especially since some of the comments feel a little rapey when you remember these men are her kidnappers.

Going off this point, it was explicitly stated at some point that females could reject the male chosen by the elders. However, when it came to the heroine she suddenly couldn’t? Instead she was threatened to be put back in a cage until she settled down? This didn’t even happen in the beginning of the book, but I think happened around the 94% completion mark. It absolutely makes no sense. On top of that once they were alone she basically did a 180 and was fine with it? It makes no sense. Especially since she was the one told she had the option to reject a male, but just never bothered to make that argument?

Something that also drove me insane is amount of different terms that were used for penis and vagina. Like I don’t know if the author thought it would make the characters appear endearing if they never referred to their junk appropriately, but it just made me feel like they were preteens. It was aggravating and alone made me want to dnf the book.

FINALLY found a new-to-me RH series!

*****SLIGHTLY SPOILER-ISH*****

I loved how this one started out. It reeled me in fast with the introduction of the characters, the magical world, the mystery of who exactly Lyric was & why she was so important to the pack & HELLO... that crazy chase! The original four guys quickly won a place in my heart. They were all about Lyric & everything they confessed to her felt genuine. (Yes, even horn dog Sterling's thoughts.)

What rubbed me the wrong way... the slight pushing away Lyric did got tiresome. Fast. Yes, everything was WTF brand new for her & happened at warp speed but c'mon girl, accept it & get it on STAT, with all your pack mates. PLEASE. I need that connection between all of you! Also, I wasn't a fan of the addition of Caz to the pack. I prefer established harems, not when more & more guys get added to it with each story, so I'm afraid that's gonna happen in this series since it did in book one.

Because of those above mentioned annoyances, I won't continue on immediately with the series but I do plan to re-visit it at a later date.

Side Note: This one ends on a MAJOR CLIFFHANGER.

DNF 20% Not my cup of tea.
What I'll give this book is that the heroine is pretty tough and can fight.

- Weirdly, I also found the heroine too horny. One of the guys' bodies or dick seemed to be her every other thought and it got super annoying.

- I just don't like the idea of not having a choice in whether or not the heroine can have children. I know she has to in order to help save her species but I honestly can't stop myself from putting myself in the heroine's shoes and it makes me really sad. I really just hate the thought of having kids myself so the idea of not having a choice really snuffed out any chance of me liking this book.

- Another thing is that I can barely remember who is who which also made it difficult to follow the heroine's interest. I'm really bad with names.

I went into this book solely based on the fact that the cover was cool and the first three sentences of the back sounded awesome. I was completely blown out of the water!! How is this book not everywhere?!?! A RH, shifter, fated mate, destiny series?! Im only mad I didn't have book 2 ready and waiting when I finished book 1.

Started out soooo good but quickly came crashing down.

Two things I live for in RH: competent female leads and the 'Mars Needs Women' trope, so when I read the sample for She Wolf Games, I was practically giddy with excitement. But what I got was not what I signed up for.

Why oh why did the author bother to make her heroine a 'fighter' if her fighting skills weren't enough to give her an actual chance at winning the games? It just made her look ineffectual and weak. It would have made more sense for her to have been an ordinary girl who's never thrown a punch, than to have all her punches basically amount to nothing.

I can't decide if I hate the MC or if I pity her. A bit of both to be honest. The poor dear is thrown into an awful situation where no one is helpful, no one tells her anything useful, and her dear old dad, who apparently orchestrated the whole thing, is nowhere to be found.

The way the heroine was thrown into the story immediately made me dislike the wolves and their community - which would've been fine, if the point of the story was for the FMC to stick the middle finger up at the bullshish patriarchy and beat the system - but it wasn't.

Her lack of agency pissed me off. She doesn't get to choose anything in her new life. Her 'men' were apparently chosen for her by her absent dad and she's basically coerced to accept them because they're the best of a bad bunch. Even her mind and private thoughts are exposed for all to hear! It actually made me uncomfortable at how vulnerable and without options she was.

Still, the author clearly doesn't want us to think about the nasty side of it all. Despite her complaints and fears, the poor FMC can't help but be mesmerised by all the sexy hotness around her and is distracted in particular, by the sight of one male contender's massive peen (seriously, it's mentioned at least once every chapter..)

I'm inclined to forgive Lyric, though. With no way out of her predicament, she might as well sit back and enjoy the view while she's waiting to be bred...

TLDR Summary: If you can ignore the awful bits, it's a fun story.

DNF @ 46% maybe it gets better, maybe not. I gave up. Aggressive bipolar female with a habit of awkwardly staring isn't my thing.

The idea was there rare female shifter who didn't know she was a shifter brought back into the fold to help further their kind. She was to participate in the games to select the 4 men she will breed and form a pack with. sounds great right nope
40% of it (not an exaggeration) is her inner thoughts as she awkwardly stare at naked men and EVRYONE can hear her in the pack link.
So I was ok with all the admiration of the man meat but I think she was supposed to come across kickass and it was not done well she just seemed abusive to the poor guys who were trying to help her even after agreeing to a plan (no they never hurt her in anyway) that's when I stopped.

Confusing

I wanted to like the story. It is very confusing & complicated. Female lead gets easily distracted and would have internal conversations with herself when she already knows others can hear her thoughts. She was physically trained by her Dad early on but she acts stupid, very stubborn & couldn’t focus. The rules of the game keeps on changing before I can even understand the daily claiming. It was repeated there will be 4 winners and it got changed again. Also, she doesn’t have any say who it will be? She fought hard and saved another she-wolf but she doesn’t get rewarded for it?

Just for all the confusion

This is ugh. Too much is going on it's almost like a cluster fuck. Lyric is basically a reward for for men to share and breed. No wonder her father stole her away from that world and raised her differently. Granted the men don't seem bad per say but still. As a parent I wouldn't want that for my child. Then someone kidnaps her father and she believed hers gone but didn't attempt to find him on her own ever? Somehow he father picked her future mates without being around since they were born? I stated book to just to get some type of clarification about what is happening.

My inner feminist alarms are going off and not in a good way!!

Don't get me wrong, I love breeder tropes. But, this one just rubbed me the wrong way. Females are supposedly revered among the wolves, yet, they are treated as chattel, as a prize to be won in a game and even her life partners are chosen for her. Even the guys she likes, can only talk about breeding her as soon as possible. And it seems like she's slowly going along with that!! Yes, she protests but it's only words ....when the time comes to do something, she doesn't.
Not gonna read this series any more. I'm completely riled up about to go on a feminist campaign now. Ugh!!

A little lite

The book held great promise but it didn’t quite deliver...at least to me.
I loved the concept, but didn’t feel there was enough character on environmental descriptors to help you engage with the story or the characters.
Fine for a light read, and I persevered to the end of the book, but don’t feel I enjoyed it enough to seek out book 2, despite the cliffhanger ending, which is a shame.

Definitely felt very confused… she’s too horny, it’s got to be witchcraft or something because sheesh. Ends on a big cliffhanger. You’re on the ride with her figuring it out as she does, which is interesting but adds to the confusion. Girls aren’t part of a pack, until they lead one I guess… but that doesn’t really make sense. I want to like her, but it’s like instead of becoming a stronger character as it goes she’s getting weaker… which is heartbreaking to read.

I didn’t know what to expect, having never read this author before and it turned out to be pretty fun. It definitely isn’t for everyone and some people might consider it dark (as if that’s a bad thing?!).

Be warned, this book will drop you into a foreign world … laws and societal rules are different here. Things you consider unsavory or sexist may just be the ways of life for this particular species and society.

That said, I definitely did have to remind myself of that a few times in order to be comfortable wrapping my head around some of their policies … and that’s okay! I don’t read just to endure the same things, views, laws, attitudes, etc. Regardless of whether the reader can or cannot stomach this particular trope, the writing and character development are good, in my opinion. I would read more from this author and I’ll likely read on in this series.

There are definitely characters to both love and root for and hate here.
Lyric is pretty likable as a strong-willed female who really doesn’t take any sh— well, you know. 😉

The action scenes are intense and full of drama and excitement, all conflict-fueled.
The steamy scenes are fairly well done, not exactly like everyone else’s and that’s not an easy feat. They are very abundant though … while I’ve nothing against them, I could do with a bit more action, drama, even everyday life and a bit fewer steamy scenes. It seemed like every few minutes there was another one.

I so happy with this Audible! holy crud i listened to it until 1 am two nights in a row... it was soo fast paced I just couldn't stop. i needed more and still need more.
this is my top 10 this year and a constant fun re-read.
i got this on audible during thier sale. Narration was soooo amazing! not just her voice, but her tone and cadence for each male was spot on.
Key words: Wolf pack, reverse harem, trials, laugh out loud funny characters (sterling).

She is just a normal girl working at a boxing club when she is approached by a bunch of men who turn into wolves and take her to their 'realm' where their pack lives.
Their she wakes up to not only find out she is a wolf but there are dozens and dozens of men their wanting to be in her pack! and to be her mate!
This whole book is about her fighting these trials to get to make her own decisions.

Plot:
*in the human realm alone, parents gone
* wolves come and take her
*waked up in wolf realm, finds out she is a very rare she wolf and men are everywhere
*she has to shift that night and run, or whoever captures her gets her for the night
*she starts to grow attachments with Dax, Zeagan, sterling and Bastian.. she finds out her dad had picked them for her
*other wolves want her to
*also the lyman's are after her to "find the cure"
*and these fire demon things are after her.
*at the end Cass ends up in her pack, she is pissed, but now gets five

*slow burn in the heat department but doesn't feel slow.. great cadence . lots of romance.

The She-Wolf Games was a fascinating read. I've been trying to find a good, action packed, and steamy werewolf or shifter story for a bit. I found it with this one.
Lyric lives a pretty basic but boring life in the city until what she thinks is the worst night of her life.
She's been evicted and there are several jerks chasing her, vying for her attention. She can't run or hide because they'll find her. She's taken to another realm that they say is her home. She knows nothing about werewolves or witches besides what she's read in stories, which are not facts.
But on the plus side she's got four fine af men that want her and claim to be chosen by her father.
Will Lyric play the She wolf games and see if the 4 men can win? Or will she leave?

This book has everything from a secret identity and life that was hidden from her by a parent to missing parents to deep soul linking connections to steamy scenes between the FMC and more than one man amd there are fight scenes and action.

I really liked this one and am glad it was recommended to me.

Felt somehow confused throughout the whole book re: plot/background even though I'm sure there was explanation--how?? Maybe it would have been easier with more world-building at the front? Either way, the book sustained something of a tension born from suspense and action, but also there were some plot/character choices that didn't seem in line with the heroine's supposed character and the other characters weren't completely fleshed out, leaving me a little confused about how I feel on this one.

Also, there are a lot of new and...unique...euphemisms (made in jest) that I could have lived my life without knowing...but possibly make life richer for now knowing...some of them I will never be able to forget even if I want to.
