This is the first book I have read by this author and I didn’t realise there was a book before it . But I have to say I really enjoyed reading it I did really feel for Hisime she had been through a lot growing up to escape and then be found again by her abuser and to go throw so much pain. But she is a fighter and with her brother and Melrim by her side she will be alright I hope. I just wished the book could have been longer but I enjoyed reading it.

Not a lot happens in this installment but I'm still interested to know what happens next for Hisime and the other characters. The writing style and atmosphere is just as great as the first book. I'm just hoping Hisime grows stronger because she was still being abused as she was in the past, suffering (understandably) from an unwillingness/unableness to fight back despite years of training at this point.
