Saints and Sinners

Rate this book
The strangest things happen in the sleepy town of Glenwood Lock...

But if you're lucky, you'll make it out alive

The Ortega family comes from a long line of werewolves and magic. They are a powerful family, one that puts the lives of the innocent above themselves at all costs. Alpha Celia and her brothers, Eli and Artie, thought they had seen it all. Their entire world is turned upside down when two college guys decide to walk home during a full moon and now, their small pack is transformed into something they never expected.

Lou Correa and Dante Navarro have been best friends as far back as they can remember. One walk home during a full moon threatens to change that. In a single instance, they are thrown into a world that is chaotic, unfamiliar, and terrifying. With trained hunters coming after them for powers they don't understand, will they learn to survive? Can an unexpected romance help them or will it be yet another obstacle to overcome? Honestly, will they even see the end of the week?

The Desecrated Pack: Saints and Sinners is the beginning of a new series, with a sweet MM romance, feisty characters, and a world filled with unexpected challenges.

Great Book

Loved everything about it. Would have given it a 5 but the editing stinks. Needs to be proof read again and re-edited.

Fantastic Read

The story was awesome, very magical and would recommend it to those who love fantasy. The only problem I had with this book was the editing. It needs to be re-edited due to sentences being repeated within the same sentence. Added words that didn’t it didn’t need, and one of the main characters named Lou being called Leo when referenced. With that being said the story line redeemed this book for me so I only gave it a 4 out of 5 stars otherwise it would have received 3 stars.

I stuck around through 49%, because the world was a little different from a lot of fantasy that I've read. Even though there were a lot of wrong words or extra words. Just generally bad editing. But this was a bridge too far:

"I think you guys oh my mom a new table."

I'm sorry, but no. I'm done.

Brilliant

Just like all of this author's other books, Saints and Sinners is filled with great characters and an engaging storyline that pulled me in from the first page. I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series.

1.5 (This is one of those times I really hate Goodreads not having a .5 rating option).

The story wasn't bad but the editing was horrible 😔

I cannot really recommend this book. There are major issues with editing, spelling and simple formatting (the are pages chopped in half without any sense whatsoever: a page stops halfway, turn the page and it continues but it's not a new chapter) that made the reading kind of hiccup. That got on my nerves. A lot. And seeing as this happens in all the books in the series I won't be reading any more of it. Which is a shame, as the setting and world building is interesting and the characters too, and the romance is not love at first sight, they know each other before the series starts and, at least book 1, it's more about pining for each other that jumping into sex, which I appreciate.

So no, I cannot recommend it and have to say I'm glad I got it through KU.

A magic town full of magical beings that... can do a lot of scary stuff but are actually way too afraid of humans for way too big portion of the book.

I liked several elements of the story - that the most important relationship was friendship, how they could be cute but go scary in a second, how it was about finding family and how there was not that much fighting their destiny as trying to follow it.

There was also a feeling of helplessness - you know secondhand embarrassment? Well, a lot of things could be secondhand, not just clothes but also a lot of feelings. This was secondhand helplessness and I did not like it.

Might follow up on the next book. Might not.

I recommend - trying it. But I made it to the end so there is that.
