Mobster
Vaerie thought that babysitting a human would be a fun vacation, sure she didn’t exactly get a choice about the assignment. Her boss had insisted, something about owing an old ass fallen angel a favour, and that’s where Vae came in. Her assignment, babysit the son of a human mobster. Only he’s a lot older and hotter than she expected. Also for a son of a mobster, Luca’s a lot more uptight and boring then she expected.
Vae is officially bored and past ready to move on, but until she’s killed all the people who want Luca dead she has to stick around. So Vae’s made a few plans to get Luca out and about. Ok, she’s using him as bait to lure out all the people who want him dead. And the human isn’t exactly happy about her plan.
Vae intends to interrogate some captured assassin’s so she can discover exactly who wants Luca dead and why. And after one particularly unpleasant incident with a Succubus, Vae realised she just might be a little more invested in keeping Luca alive than she originally thought. Seems she might not just like the human, but he might also be her fated mate. She has to be wrong though, because after centuries of searching and giving up there’s no way her fated mate is not only Luca, but human. All Vae knows is she has to figure this shit out and soon. Otherwise she might just lose her human, which would be a shame because he tastes delicious when she bites.

I loved this. It was a fun, fast paced novella with Mobsters, Fae and a Type A control freak human who suffers constant headaches induced by a crazy reckless Fae who insists on protecting him by using him as bait.
