Interesting short mystery story. The story is about two girls who are completely different to each other. One night everything changes and the story is how that comes about. Good enjoyable mystery.
Tabitha and Nancy are best of friends and have been as they have grown up. Then Nancy goes missing. Her dead body is found and Tabitha is a suspect. The whole school suspects her of having something to do with the murder. Tabitha is investigating with the help of another girl 👧 and Ben. This leads to the truth and discover of the killer.
I would recommend this novella and author to 👍 readers of romantic adventure mystery novels 👍🔰. 2023 👒😀😡🏡💘
Liked the suspense and the twist, but it was just missing something. Maybe needed more character development, so that way the reader would be more invested in the deaths.

Very good book. When Tabitha becomes a person of interest in the killing of her best friend, Nancy, she sets out to find the real killer. She has rumors spread around school about her being the killer, she confronts a classmate who she wonders if they killed Nancy. Then she runs across another possible suspect. When it all comes to a confrontation Tabitha is surprised to learn the identity of the killer. This book will keep you interested and the suspense level rises with each killing.
It started off great, with action from the very beginning. I grew quite disappointed with the Nancy Drew (even mentioned her in the book) aspect and the unwarranted disrespect toward the detective by the young one. Timing was also off. There was something missing in the transition from one day)week to the next. One moment the main character was at school then all of a sudden she was days later in bed. This one just wasn't for me, personally. Great kudos to author Nicholas Jordan for being a published author!
this author seriously needs to hire a good copy editor. he constantly used the dead girls name when he meant to use the living girls name. this is a pretty blatant error. the story line was okay but was totally ruined by putting the dead girls name in where it shouldn't have been. copy editors can make or break your book.
A number of spelling mistakes (like "you're" instead of "your"!) and even an inversion between the name of a victim and her friend's... That could quite easily have been avoided but otherwise a nice short read.
The story was feasible and the plot developed well but the drama near the end was implausible bearing in mind the apparent lack of athleticism of the main character in the story. The mystery was enough to keep me reading until the end. The reason I gave it only two stars was that I did not enjoy the writing style. Some may enjoy it but I felt it lacked depth and color. To be fair, the book I read before was by a top-rating author whose I read less for the story than the way he tells it.
My God this book was terrible. I can deal with fast paced but there was zero fleshing out of characters at all to the point that if everyone in the book died, you wouldn’t care because you didn’t really know anything about them.
Tabitha is absolutely ridiculous. I cannot imagine how someone portrayed as so awkward that she really has just one friend finds the audacity to speak to a police detective the way she does but also to think she has the skills to investigate a murder simply because it was her friend.
Thank goodness I didn’t pay for this book because it was that bad.
A well written story that leaves you thinking you know who the killer is right up to the end. Lots of red herrings along the way. I appreciate that the author didn't drag it out with filler just to make a bigger book.
I realized too late that it was a YA story so of course I had to finish it....
This book was…boring. It was too pat, just checking off the boxes on how to plot a novel. There was no suspense, nothing particularly interesting about the characters, just…there. Just pass on this, there are so many books that are so much better, and honestly, even novels that are worse are at least more interesting.
2.5 Stars That was probably my fault, I wasn't really into the book while reading it, it absolutely had a great story, with wonderful characters for a short book (short and still took me almost a month) and it gave me A Good Girl's Guide to Murder vibes (which I really liked about it). Hope to not ruin my next mystery book :/
This is heavily juvenile book that was very surface level and not nearly dark enough for what I was expecting. The only thing that kept me reading was the desire to find out who did the killing, and it was pretty obvious from the start.
I don’t know much about appropriate ages for books, but this feels like a late middle school- early high school read.
The story is not that intriguing, it's short too. It's an ok story, but the author kind of mixes up the two friends' names here and there. That gives us the feeling that the author has not given his 100% for this story.
Two girls in high school, very different from each other but best of friends since 7th grade - what happens one night to change their lives forever? You’ll just have to read it to find out. Good clean mystery.
When teenage Tabitha's friend Nancy is killed she decides that the police are so incompetent and useless that she will investigate the crime. For me too much teenager angst not enough mystery. It was just a pity that the killer couldn't kill all the obnoxious teenagers.
Story wasn't bad and details were good except for the one punishment (I won't say to spoil it). However, she would never speak to a detective and act that way in the real world hence juvenile.
Growing up before graduation, and it’s not always a bed of roses. Life’s lessons can be hard. This was a good read, great story line. You know what Mikey said, try it you’ll like it.
This is the tale of two girls at an american high school, one of whom gets murdered along with a growing number of other girls at high school. Eventually the killer is tracked down and it wasn't who I thought it was. Plenty of red herrings along the way. Pleasant way to spend a rainy afternoon.
This wagons of the most boring books I have ever read. It was advertised as a thriller. It certainly was that. I especially didn't like the way he has the teenagers talking. No teenager I know talks that way.
Wasn’t on TBR and hadn’t seen anything about this book/ author before. Free book on kindle. Couldn’t put this down. Enjoyed the fast pace suspenseful thriller. Thought I had it all figured out until the very last minute. Definitely want to read more from this author.
When I started reading this book, I thought, ugh a teenage book, but I’m not one to give up something I start. Great plat, and the characters really were perfectly described. Good job Nicholas Jordan.
