I read this book a few years ago in Japanese. It helped me calm down often, as I was going through a rough time in school. I think this book is a good reason to give yourself a break by reading, but also learning how to take a break. This book gives honest yet calming responses to problems, which really heal you, especially when the situation given in the book is similar to your situation, you might be in at the time. These 82 essays focus on all kinds of things, from relationship tips to why you feel like you wanna see the ocean all the sudden and how it helps mentally. My favorite one was a small essay about how you need some sort of balance of distance in any relationship it is, whether romantic or family. That essay really taught me how to keep my relationships healthy instead of being attached, and I think it was useful. Although I might not be able to fully incorporate that in real life, it's always in my mind, and I get reminded, and I think that's important when sustaining healthy relationships with one another. This book is relaxing and healing, so if you're having any troubles or stress in your life, reading this book might help you to ease and relax. It's good to give yourself a break, just as the cover says.

I took my time with this book, usually reading a chapter or two every week. I found impressive how almost every new chapter read perfectly reflected and offered straightforward advice on situations I was dealing with at the time. It truly allowed to put my mind at ease and rest for a while.
