Here is a Top 10 list from Ann about her likes, dislikes, and oddities:
1. I despise whipped cream. There, I admitted it in writing. Let the ridiculing begin. 2. Even though I have lived as far south as Key Largo, Florida and as far north as Maine, I landed in the middle. 3. If I don't make a conscious effort not to, I will drink nothing but tea morning, noon and night. Hot tea, sweet tea, green tea––I love it all. 4. There doesn't seem to be much in life that is better than coming home to a couple of big dogs who are overjoyed to see me. My other family members usually show significantly less enthusiasm about my return. 5. Singing in my bestest, loudest voice does not make my family put on their happy faces. This includes the big, loving dogs referenced above. 6. Yes, I am aware that bestest is not a word. 7. Dorothy was right. There's no place like home. 8. All of the numerous bottles in my shower must be lined up with their labels facing out. It makes me feel a little like Julia Roberts' mean husband from the movie 'Sleeping with the Enemy,' but I can't seem to control this particular quirk. 9. I love, love, love finding a great bargain. 10. Did I mention that I hate whipped cream? It makes my stomach churn to look at it, touch it, smell it, or even think about it. Great––now I'm thinking about it. Ick!

The small, sleepy town of Brunswick Bay Harbour is anything but dull. Ann Omasta’s Shimmering Emeralds is the third book in her current series. It is both a small-town drama and a second-chance romance.
Two strong willed people—Meg let Levi go to fulfill his dreams of country music stardom One with a secret—Meg is keeping a life-changing secret
When one horrific accident brings Meg and Levi together again, the drama ramps up! Ms. Omasta has written another emotional and compelling story. She creates a lot of empathy through her character development, and in this installment, Meg’s vulnerability makes her more likable. Shimmering Emeralds filled with suspense and great characters.
I love small-town stories, and the world building in the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series creates the perfect atmosphere to get lost in the story and the town.

I have read every book since the first book in the series, and have loved each one of them. In the first two books I didnt really care for Meg, and still in this book she has her moments but slowly she is being redeemed by the author. I love second chance romances, and especially when they have a HEA. I would certainly recommend this book to others.
After the cliffhanger of the previous book, I was able to enjoy a sigh of relief but it was temporary. This secrets that this town manages to keep bottled up is amazing. As a little one struggles to survive, history unravels. The story moves quickly even if the time covered is short.
This series should be read in order. Skipping around is not advisable as the stories may tell the tale for different characters, they are very much intertwined.
I had a tough time with this book. I adored the ending but getting there felt a bit like an uphill battle at times. The continuity issues in this book drove me mental. Firstly, ICU doesn’t operate like just another room in the hospital and it frustrated the living daylights out of me that this was the way it was portrayed here. Add to that, the multitude of patient confidentiality violations shown in this story and I was practically frothing at the mouth. I also had problems getting past all of Meg’s judgmental and hypocritical attitudes. I couldn’t understand why it was fine for her to behave like a raving harpy, but then she’d get mad at anyone else who did the same. Levi and Harper were just about perfect to me. Levi’s so sweet and stoic. He handles everyone’s venom and blame with an equanimity I can only admire. And Harper’s the same precious little imp I’d already come to love in the previous books, she just takes center stage in this one. Now that I’ve started to get to know Dani, I’m intrigued to see what the author has in store for her. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
If you've read the first two books of this series you might feel like me about Meg, not liking her much since she accused Alex of murdering her sister.
Meg is a feisty single mother who helps out at the school field trip of her daughter Harper and niece Hannah when the bus has an accident. Bus driver Levi manages to get everyone out of the bus rather safely but poor Harper collapses out of nowhere and gets rushed to the hospital. At first it seems strange for Levi not wanting to leave Meg's side but we learn that they have history. When Meg's friend Dani mentions her secret I expected right 😉 but not spoiling here. However you will most possibly like Meg better after learning more about her and seeing the nicer side of her.. and welcome to another baby! Great book.

There's never a dull moment in Brunswick Bay Harbour as Clare has her baby, Hanah temporarily disappears, Harper is injured in a school bus crash and Meg confronts her past in the third installment of the small town drama by Ann Omasta. I love these stories of an ordinary family caught in a series of not at all ordinary circumstances. Clare's sister meg is a strong, independent single mom who's found herself in the worst situation a mother can, with her young daughter in a coma after a bus accident. Meanwhile, the man she let go is back in her life. Another great story in a great small town romance series.
Meg and Levi had a past, they were in love with each other but Meg pushed Levi away so that he could follow his dream. Levi was driving the school bus not knowing that Meg was on there when something staggered into the road in front of the bus causing it to crash and Meg's daughter to get injured and now in a coma. Will Meg and Levi get there second chance or is it too late. This was a really emotional but addictive book and I really enjoyed reading it. Ann is an amazing author and talented writer and I have read nearly every book that she has written. I definitely recommend you read this book and series and you will not be disappointed.
OMG! This book should come with a warning that you won’t be able to put it down until you've finished it (i.e. it's 5:28 a.m.). You'll love Meg and Levi as they are reunited after he had left to pursue a musical career. However, one of the first things they face is being involved in a school bus accident in which her daughter Harper suffered a traumatic brain injury. As always you’ll feel like you’re right there with them as Ms. Omasta adroitly draws you into her web (story). A great addition to this series, and I’m anxiously awaiting the next book! Shimmering Emeralds is the third book in the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series. I loved this second chance romance story set in Brunswick Bay Harbor. The characters are well developed and have a lot of love and hurt from the past come back to haunt them as a new tragedy unfolds. The storyline is well written, with drama, suspense, heartbreak, secrets, and a wonderful second chance at romance. I cannot wait for the next book in this delightful series.

Two opposite people meet again in their small home town once again. She is a single mom raising her daughter and he is the want to be country music star that never made it big as he returns home and faces his longtime crush her.
They are thrown together after a tragic bus crash which sets to destroy them and the people in town. Will they be able to come together despite their secrets and take a chance on love? Love comes full circle.
Another great book to the series brings a second chance romance with strong, well developed characters and an interesting story line. The author does a great job developing the story and bringing it to life with her descriptive writing and detailed scenes. She brings drama, fear, anxiety and love of family. I loved the banter and enjoyed reading their story. I would recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
What a great second chance romance. I loved every minute of it. The only downside was that although it was fine as a stand alone the references to things that had happened in the previous two books made me wish I had read them first. I have already downloaded them.

Ann Omasta has brought us another emotional book. A school bus wreck, a child in a coma, two births and a well kept secret all combine into one very good story. The characters and story line are well developed. Some secrets have been kept too long. This is a good book but you might want to have a tissue handy if you tend to get emotional.
Shimmering Emerald is a well written, heartbreakingly beautiful story that left me breathless. I absolutely loved Meg and Levi's story and I was captivated by every twist and turn in their story. This is a great addition to the series and I can't wait to read the next book by this amazing author. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
A captivating read from beginning to end! An exciting storyline that leaves you breathless wanting more! Sexy steam filled chemistry! Emotionally heartfelt, enjoyable and fun! One heck of a twisted, intense rollercoaster ride! An amazing must read!

Second chances are The best kind of read and Ann does not disappoint in Meg and Levi's but surprises are in store and they both must work thru those surprises to find what is worth keeping...their love😍😍😍
Shimmering Emeralds (Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems, #3), my thirtieth read from author Ann Omasta. Another entertaining, and well-written read the third in this captivating series that I'd managed to read out of order, not realizing I'd missed a book until I was done reading Shocking Sapphires (Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems #5). I received a free Kindle copy of this book & have liked the Audible editions read by the author so much I went out & bought this one to catch up on the series. The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I'll be reading more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
She's a single mom who told the father the love of her life to go on and fulfill his dreams. When he got word of Meg's pregnancy, she told him that she got pregnant by a tourist causing Levi great pain. Everything is about too come full circle because Levi was driving the bus that had an accident injuring her child. When Levi learns the full truth of Harper's birth, lives will be changed but the betrayal and deception will burn deeply. Can he forgive Meg and forge a happily ever after to have the family Harper deserves?

It took me no time at all to get into this story. There’s drama! There’s heartbreak! And of course, there a much-needed HEA. I like books that make me happy, and this one did just that! One thing I didn’t like was that Meg took away something very important from Luke, and that’s just not okay. That made me like her just a liiittle bit less, hence no 5 stars, as that is important to me. But it’s a good book, that I do recommend! Don’t try and read this as a standalone though, you’ll enjoy it more when you read this series in order.
Read as a 3 book set Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems: Shattered Diamonds / Shining Pearls / Shimmering Emeralds (Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems #1-3).
Book 3 is more or less a standalone, you might be able to follow most of the story without books 1 and 2; but there's not much resolution to books 1 & 2 either. This is Meg & Levi's story, and it's just kind of a side-story with tie-ins to the other books. There IS a HEA (but there are more in the series).
This could have been a really good book but it was just all over the place. Some of the dialogue was so unbelievable and cringe. There is some spice at tue end i think just to bump up the rating but it would have been better without its pointless.it was a hard 198 pages to elkeep engaged with and read it this took me dar longer than it would have.
Some great LOL moments as well as touching family drama. Wanted to know more about who the characters were and what really motivated them. I liked them, was intrigued by them and would have liked to spend more time with them .
This book was fantastic. The characters are strong, and the men are stubborn. I totally am enjoying this storyline of Brunswick Bay Harbor. I couldn’t put the server is down until I read the whole thing it is definitely a must read.
I liked the story which travels through books 1,2 & 3. I listened via Chirp. The author is the narrator. She really should have hired a professional. The story is solid so if you read the series, do it with your eye not your ears.
