Do You Remember?: The Book That Takes You Back

Rate this book
Remember the Bionic Woman, Dippity Doo, Pop Rocks, Planet of the Apes, Peter Frampton, and white lipstick? Do You Remember? takes readers back to a simpler, tackier time, when TV shows were unabashedly corny and shags (carpets and hairdos) were all the rage. Over 130 images of long-lost-pop-culture items and unforgettable icons from the '50s, '60s, '70s, and even early '80s fill the pages of this wacky collection. Do You Remember? is the perfect gift for baby boomers, ex-hipsters, and even members of Generation X, sparking chains of remembrance that make Proust's madeleine look like just another cookie.

A very cool pictorial compilation of pop culture history from the mid-century through the 80's.

Brought back a lot of fond memories seeing toys from my youth like The Spirograph, The View Master, Wooly Willy, Operation, Twister, Paint By Numbers, Toss Across to name a few.

Everything from hairstyles, to S&H Green Stamps, celebrities, movies, music, magazine covers, famous TV commercials, clothing and shoes and a recipe for Smores and instructions for doing "The Time Warp".

Bits and pieces of pop culture from the past decades. Things to inspire memories. Fun!

Graphically pretty, but... can’t say I “remember” many of the things in it, as I’m younger and, for a bigger difference, didn’t grow up in USA.
This book would be great for people recovering from strokes or having memory issues, meant in the best sense

(It did have a tendency to run everything together though...like it was all part of the same era.)
