Greensboro has fallen.
Swayed by the demonic Strange Man, the townspeople have sacrificed their freedom for prosperity. Monsters lurk in every shadow and the few who oppose the new regime have been chased out of town, forced to wage their war in hiding. Eh…
I’ve read the first 2 in this series and enjoyed them enough to read the third. It was a decent read for 3/4 of the book and then it started to go off the rails. The extensive battle that ensued was failed to be seen as a spiritual one, over and over again, while the heroes stayed in hiding, using only physical means of survival when required. The ending was fairly drawn out and overreaching, not to mention still rather light on the spiritual battle required when faced with demonic activity.
