I don’t know who I am, nor why I’ve been imprisoned. They want me to confess, but I can’t remember doing the atrocities they’re accusing me of, so I keep silent instead. They hate my silence.
They call me Wisteria because of my purple eyes, and they’ve vowed to make me talk. Officer Stone uses every cruel trick he knows. Father Rivera says he’s a man of God, but his eyes betray him sometimes. Warden Green is the only one who’s kind to me when he doesn’t let himself consumed by his own darkness.
I feel drawn to the three Alphas, though I should know better. If the corrupted system doesn’t break me first, these powerful, twisted men will.
Author's Note: This book contains dark themes and possible triggers. It's intended for mature audiences only. Read it at your own risk.
Cara Wylde loves to write about strong, feisty women and their hot Alphas who will do anything to make them happy. Her books are filled with romance and just a dash of mystery, suspense, and that eerie atmosphere she fell in love with reading too many gothic novels. With a master's degree in Comparative Literature, she can't help but play with tropes and themes from various genres, trying to come up with fresh perspectives on the paranormal characters her readers love so much. Vampires, shape-shifters, demons, witches... Cara will always make sure they get their own twists.
When she's not writing, Cara is reading, planning her next story, or daydreaming. Her idea of pure heaven is a day filled with nothing but her laptop, a huge coffee pot, relaxing music, and a new, exciting project.
This fast paced read may start off confusing (even if you have read the prequel), but it is all part of the master plot. As each twist and dark turn gives us more of Sierra's (Wisteria's) past, the reader is also given more pieces of the darkness that haunts each of the Alphas' psyche. With each interaction these 3 Alphas take and dominate in their belief of Sierra's guilt, they will do anything to get her to confess. Anything. This story is a dubcon and can push the boundaries at times (but Omegaverse books usually do). It's frustrating and annoying at times with how they treat Sierra - once again this is in line with the trope. It will pull you in as you try to put the pieces together, all the while trying to reject what may be right in front of you. This is the grittiest and kinkiest book I think I've read by the author. She definitely explores a few different darker themes in this one and I look forward to see what she does in the next.

Omg I'm slacked jaw right now. I sooo need book three like yesterday. This is dark and kinda kinky at the same time. There were parts I definitely wasn't expecting and the cliffhanger was explosive as hell. I loved it... and I hate cliffhangers- with a capital H. But this had me begging for me. Hold onto your keister, because this is one wild roller coaster. Wisteria knows her name is Sierra now, but it feels foreign to her. She's used to Stone calling her Mutt or Wisteria by now too. She still can't remember anything that would brought her to this horrible prison, three days ago. But like it or not she's stuck here. If only she can stay out of people's way. And being Omega would make you think that's easy. But no it doesn't. Not when the Stone and Father River keep staring at her like a juicy slab steak on a hook... Even the Warden is giving her the side eye like all the locked up alpha's. Will she survive her first week in prison?
This was over-the-top dark dirty deliciously tantalizing in a good way I love these strapping manly gritty Alphas and their possessiveness the darkness delightful dangerous tantalizing scenes wow this was definitely a keeper

What little we saw of the plot was interesting, but it’s unfortunately buried under piles of unnecessary porn and awkward expository dialogue. If you’re curious about the quality of the writing, go to the preview and marvel at Roz’s awful verbal diarrhea. It’s a fine example of how exposition works in this book: long and awkward paragraphs, meant to make it easier to jump into the sexual abuse rather than waste time in boring things such as organic world building.
The protagonist is the unfortunate definition of “doormat heroine”, only one of the guys is close to decent and most of the sex can be qualified as dubcon at best. Even if you can get past these details, there’s the fact that the writing is just… bad. Consider the fact that the protagonist is in prison for a crime she doesn’t remember committing, yet after meeting a survivor, she – nor anyone else in the room – never even remembers to ask just how that happened, or what the survivor even knew about the crime.
Even the protagonist wonders just how she forgot to ask such a basic question, but then again, she’s trapped in a book that describes her memories as “literally shit”, which should be a good indicator of just how low expectations should be when jumping into this story. That said, I am willing to skim through the second part of the story on account that I did like the plot, though not enough to force myself to read yet another sex scene of dubious consent.
A good mystery and great world building. The lead female has lost her memory, so the reader gets to learn about this universes werewolves as the mystery unravels. The character building was also good. Thought was put into everyone's personalities. There are no brooding for brooding's sake males or females that hate the female lead just because. My problem with this book is that it's not erotica, it's torture porn. The lead female is abused and the excuse is the males think she is a murderer. The lead female enjoys her abuse, because she's an Omega and they can't resist an Alpha. So basically females can be treated like trash because they can't help but to enjoy it. The sad thing is this could've been sexy. Instead it's a bunch of men taking advantage of a woman with mental issues. I won't be reading the next book in this series. I would read something else from this author if it was truly BDSM and not abuse.

My main issue is this story is like a second rate film. It doesn’t make you feel or believe. It’s just terribly put together.
The girl lost her memory and has been abused by these males. They forced her heat and put her in solitary so they could use her. Yet she actually uses the L word when there is not a single reason to. The character is a door mat and unlikeable. I like dark romance and have read some decent dark romances, this is far from that.
The next issue is that she was put on death row while she was in a catatonic state and with no trial, but then taken off death row because the council said so. Meanwhile in this universe omegas are small, weak and docile, so wtf? None of what happens makes sense. Maybe my brain is just too logical for all of these stupid books on KU, but I need things to make sense and have some reasoning behind them. That’s what makes a book good and relatable.
The priest is the most ridiculous character I have ever read. He thinks he is righteous, yet he has banged every female inmate in the prison and the mfc has women after her because the other inmates see she has his attention. Besides him praying, not that he does, there is nothing priestly about him. He states that celibacy and god were his life? He hasn’t been celibate. To top this off he tells her essentially that he wants her to dominate him with sex toys until he bleeds! I feel like this whole character was only for shock factor. I need a believable character and this one was ridiculous.
In a book as short as this is there should be no repetition at all, yet I have to be reminded of something that was just told to me 2 pages ago. Then when she has to meet with the council in a sound proof room, the men tell her about it right before it happens. They then get to the door and we need to be reminded of the sound proofing again. Then when she leaves we have to talk about it again. We get it the room was sound proof.
Luckily I have KU, because I would be PO if I had spent money on this trash. Hey pretty cover though.
This story was cleanly written and edited, with no typos that I could discern in the ARC version of this manuscript. The world building was top notch. The characterization was not great, with the heroine being completely unsympathetic and two of the heroes having zero redeeming qualities. This heroine was a passive doormat with no fight in her whatsoever. Romance heroines who are doormats are not worth the time spent reading them, in my opinion. There was no real romantic relationship development in this novel, with most interactions between the heroine and the heroes either being abusive or completely sexual in nature. The plot and pacing was somewhat slow, with very little happening, plot-wise, until the very end of the novel. There was an unnaturally low level of angst or hate experienced by the heroine, considering all the trauma she was experiencing in this novel. The stakes were fairly high, even though the slow pacing and minimal plot of this novel did not make the stakes FEEL high. This reverse harem romance used the Bad Boys and the Virgin trope. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing were two stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were two stars. Normally, I would give this novel a combined score of two stars, but I added a star because of the clean writing and good editing. This novel had a cliffhanger ending, which is a massive con to this novel. I do not recommend this story to fans of dark m/f omegaverse romances unless you do not mind doormat heroines. I do not plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

My first read from the author and really need to short thing first. This book definitly not an omegaverse I use to read. First, it happen on earth where human still on the other fence. Second, they are werewolf. With pack. Alpha leader. The availability to change from human to wolf and their special powers. The have supernatural believe also. Brings me to the third. Why the author need to mix omegaverse which I use to read are aliens, and mix it with werewolf? For me thats just too much in the mix. I mean, for werewolf the bond between Alpha and his mate is already strong. No need to add omegaverse just to point out this special bond.
But, beside all this overwhealming mix, I like the twisted darkness. Warden Green with his calm, commanding, yet gentle way. Officer Stone with his rough, Blunt, domineering brute. And father Rivera with his twisted sexual deviant. This three Alpha wants her. They think she's the monster who played her entire pack. But how can an omega who is a natural submissive be that violence?
With pages of dark, steamy nights, they claim each other. Until the truth comes before them. And the alpha's must decide how to save their omega

ONE DEEP, DARK AND DECEDENT SPIN!!! Pins & needles! Cara delivers one intense, dark and decadent approach, spinning this unbelievable web of deep seeded ominous deeds, with this incredible brilliantly composed arresting storyline and gripping plot, rocks this bad boy to the core, binding it together piece by piece. Revealing the drama, intrigue, turmoil, underlying threats, abuse, twisted decadence, chilling suspense and nerve racking situations along with a boatload of sinister deeds, you have one chart topping masterpiece. A tumultuous whirlwind of intimidating trials and challenging tribulations, along with the explosive twists and wicked turns, puts our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they could have never anticipated. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, blowing this jewel into a churning tempest, bursting it into a hissy with an eye-opening culmination. The characters are authentic and original with qualities and traits that blend and flow, transforming into beautifully charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions, as to give you a full understanding and realism that flows smoothly. Amazing job Cara, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
WARNING! Cliffhanger. Also it’s an Omegaverse story, that means there are potential triggers in this story, so consider yourself warned.
It’s not the Omegaverse aspect of this book I enjoyed, nor the bully romance or other sexual scenes. Instead, it is the other part of the story that is deeply interesting. We first met Wisteria/Sierra in the prequel short, and this book begins the day after that. She is still clueless, and as an Omega, she is still susceptible to the alpha pheromones of Stone, Riviera and Greene. Which of course, in the Omegaverse world, means she is promptly mistreated by two of them. The real interest though, lies in the story that she has forgotten. The reason as to why she stands accused of killing her pack. The answer as to how she could have killed her pack. And it’s not until the second part of the book that we start to get those answers… and they’re fascinating ones!
I give the book a solid three and a half stars, because the story behind Wisteria’s incarceration is actually good and evens out the bully “romance” that isn’t actually romantic.
Recommended for fans of bully/Omegaverse/dark paranormal romance.
First of all, there is a prequel for this story that is recommend a lot that you read first. This first book puts you up to speed of what happened but the prequel has some really hot details and does a great job to introduce all the characters and raising the suspense. Yes, because all about this first book is about the mystery and the suspense. In America, inmates can be led to believe they commit a felony even when they know they didn't. But when everybody says you did, how can you defend yourself? This is what happen to our main character, so the premisse is just great. The fun and original part of this story is the world building and language used. I really enjoyed all the mate and animal related wording. Really cool. This 1st book ends with an awesome scene, so be ready to grab book 2 as soon as you can. Cara is really a great writer for hot/dark fantasy stories, so if that's what's you are looking, for then go for it.
Oh shifter HAWTNESS!! I've read a few other books from Cara Wylde (specifically the Grim Reaper Academy) and love them! I'm not usually one who loves shifter novels, but holy moly this one was fantastic!!
Wisteria, an Omega shifter, wakes up as a prisoner and has lost most of her memory. Finding out that she's been arrested for killing her pact... which seems impossible. There are three men that control her - the warden, the priest, and the officer. Wisteria realizes that each of those men are not only alphas but her mates. But how does she get herself out of the mess she's in??
Omg... this was so hot... and a bit different than any other shifter book I've read. I absolutely recommend this book, and I can't wait to see what happens next! I received an ARC for my honest review.
Oh Ms Wylde, you have outdone yourself. I love this author but this series promises to be so delicious and I cannot wait for more. The world building is exemplary and the book will sweep you away to a world that is dark, dangerous and cruel but so utterly fascinating. The book moves along at a fast pace and has enough steam to melt the pages. The heroine is a complex woman who is thrust into a situation that she does not understand and is terrified by and has no recollection of what landed her in this position. The three men in her life are so diverse, complex and each has their own darkness to contend with. There are some revelations but it ends on a cliffhanger so be warned. Am looking forward to seeing how the story arcs in the next book.

Ok wow, I have not really read a lot of omegaverse, but after reading the prequel, I had to know her story. First off, this book may be triggering to some, and is dark, a little kink, and very, very dirty! But if you have no triggers then jump right in. This is not a romance book, not yet anyway, but I have a suspicion the romance is on the way, this story the FMC is an Omega and is made and taught to submit no matter what, just keep that in mind. She may seem weak (Omega trait) but I don’t really think she is. So, I enjoyed the actual story and we get to find out more in this one about what actually happened to her pack and her, finally yes. There is a cliffhanger at the end, and well damit, I’m in and need to know what happens. I do take my hat off to Cara Wylde for writing something like this (with dark aspects)! Overall good writing, great story and worldbuilding.
They are calling her Wisteria because of the color of her eyes. That isn't her name, is it? They tell her she is in Dark Moon Prison because she committed murder. She couldn't do that, could she? She doesn't remember anything before being put in this prison. She is an Omega, imprisoned with Alpha and Beta werewolves. Three Alpha's become her tormentors. Can they bring themselves to believe she is innocent of the crime.
Fascinating, dark, and sometimes corrupt characters, loved them. I think this is a fantastic book with surprising, and unexpected twists in the plot. A riveting read, I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book. I loved it!
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
Loved this story and I was really looking forward to reading it after I had a taster with the prequel Penumbria, this start to the series certainly did not disappoint and I cannot wait for book two to find out what comes next. The story was well written, the characters diverse and had great dark chemistry to compliment the dark theme. The sexy scenes were hot and erotic and the underlying sexual tension from the beginning set the relationships up nicely, it was also fantastic that it was told from each of the main characters POV. Looking forward to more mystery, hot sexy scenes, uncovered secrets, action and development of the reverse harem relationship as the series progresses.

I'm a little conflicted, this book is not what I expected but it isn't bad. Its certainly for the dark and twisted minds who love a good story with characters who embrace the darkness. Wisteria a werewolf being accused of murder thrown in werewolf prison for a crime she can't remember from a life she can't remember. A struggle to piece together her memories and help in unlikely places for a price.Who is Wisteria and what is her fate? Can she remember her life before it's too late? This book was enough to grab my attention even though some scenes were a little hard to wrap my head around but I am interested in reading the second book.

Wysteria was imprisoned for a crime she didn't consciously commit. She was tortured by one of the guards, the priest, and in a way even the warden to get to the truth. It wasn't until after this, until after this Omega had bonded with three strong Alpha's, the counsel of Elders showed up, and a survivor did the truth finally come out.
The Guard hungered for total obedience, the Priest for total dominance, and the Warden for absolute love, and the Omega for her past, and a future with the three men that were her tormentors, her guards, her Alpha's, and her loves. This is an amazing story that I honestly can't wait to see what happens next with this Prison RH tale.

Wisteria, a werewolf, is in prison accused of murder but she doesn't remember anything because she lost her memory. Not only does she not remember a murder she doesn't even know who she is. This is an intriguing, dark and twisted read and I loved every delicious page. I know, I know I'm a bit twisted but this book is that good. I must warn you though if you trigger easily then you have to decide on your own if you want to read this book. This author has created an intriguing world that pulled me into the story and the three alphas in this book well they are their own special twisted and dark characters. This book ends in a cliffhanger so I will try to patiently wait for book two to find out what happens next. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Wisteria doesn't even remember her name, let alone why she is in the werewolf prison, so how can she confess to anything? Normally an Omega wolf is the most submissive of all werewolves and wants an alpha male to protect her. Three alpha males (Officer Stone, Father Rivera and Warden Green), have taken particular interest in her, but will it help her or not? Can they discover what happened? I loved this intriguing, mysterious tale, and I couldn't help but love the lost Wisteria, who has to struggle her way though the challenges she faces, I can't wait for the next book.

Sierra is an Omega, charged with murdering her whole pack.In jail, Officer Stone, Father Rivera and Warden Green are the alphas charged with trying to get her to remember whether or not she commited the slaughter - or whether the wolf spirit is involved. It is a good story, but I found that it was much more involved with their sex lives that with the actual mystery of who, how and why the slaughter happened. A good read, but would have loved more about the mystery, and not so much emphasis on the physical.

I like dark romances and anti-heroes, and I can usually even deal with naive virgin heroines, however, sadly it just didn't work for me with this book, something didn't click. As I didn't connect to any of the main characters, I didn't care for the romance, and I wasn't emotionally connected to the story. Also this novel was on a short side, so it was missing some depth and I didn't really get a chance to explore this world enough, and when it finally got interesting it ended.
Father Rivera didn't seem like an Alpha werewolf at all, Officer Stone and Warden Green were nothing special, and Wisteria was kind of pathetic. There was no chemistry, no sparks, and no real emotions, so the romance was disappointing and lacking a lot.
The only thing that kept me reading was the mystery of what actually happened to Wisteria's pack. Also the ending was finally action packed and intense, such an intriguing cliffhanger we got. So it ended with a bang, which was the best part of this book, and kind of made me want to know what is going to happen in the next book.
I think its amazing! While definitely darker than her other books, Cara has managed to write a fantastic beginning to what I think will be a stunning story. It is not until literally the last few pages that you even get a glimpse of the under story, about the moon child, but it adds to the story. Fair warning, graphic sex scenes and bdsm are written. If such makes you uncomfortable, I suggest not reading.

This is a really gret book, that once I started reading sucked me in and took me away to a whole new reality till I finished the very last page. It moves along at a really nice reading speed making for an enjoyable read. The characters are unique and seem so real that you feel like you know them and you cannot help but fall in love with them. The story is amazing. This is a must read, there is no doubt about it.
This is the story of Wisteria, a werewolf, who is accused of murder and is now in prison. Officer Stone, Father Rivera and Warden Green are there to force her to confess to a crime she has no memory of. There are dark elements and abuses in this story. This kept me reading just to find out what happens next. A very compelling story. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sierra was in prison being accused of killing her whole pack. An omega who didn’t have the power to do anything of the sort plus she had no memory. Now, Warden Green, Father Rivera and Officer Stone had all claimed her in one way or the other and she was tethered to them. Now a witness had come forth , what would happen now? Exciting and fun

Moonchild is book one in the series Dark Moon Prison by author Cara Wylde. HOLY S*** this one is absolutely delicious!! Once again I just have to say - you’re amazingly talented and you remind me of Addison Cain. Greatest compliment I can give. Anywho, I am totally in love with this story and I don’t even hate the fact that it’s a cliffhanger!! Dark, gritty, erotic and enthralling!! Enjoy!!
