I write about alpha protectors who fall in love hard and unconditionally, through the good and the bad. My characters are strong, sexy, and slightly damaged... because no one is perfect. All of my novels have happy-ever-after endings. What else would you expect from a die-hard romantic? I'm the author of the McIntyre Security Bodyguard Series of contemporary romance novels.

I live in Ohio with my daughter and more than a few dogs and cats. When I'm not writing, I'm reading romance novels and watching movies with happy endings. I'd love to hear from you! You can e-mail me at aprilwilsonwrites@outlook.com. Or, visit my website: aprilwilsonauthor.com.

Charmed is a warm, sexy, funny, well written rom-com, guaranteed to bring a smile to your face AND your heart.

I'm not always the greatest fan of the billionaire trope but this didn't have that typical arrogant alpha-hole feel. In fact the hero Will was really very sweet and quite down to earth. A really pleasant guy, strong but not overbearing. The story was so easy to read, really enjoyable and it was great to watch how Will grew and developed throughout the book.

The heroine, Skye, was also a really well written, engaging and wonderful character. Both her and Will were very likeable, as well as being very easy to relate to. Her back story added interesting facets to the tale, whilst her strength and integrity added intensity to it.

The plot was fairly simple but it didn't need unnecessary complication or angst. We were treated to depths of emotion, fantastic writing and great characterisation. I could really feel the emotions and it definitely had a wonderful warm and sexy rom-com vibe. The inclusion of two wonderful support characters in Connor and Kennedy brought something a little extra, allowed us to see Skye and Will in a different light, to really get to know them and to understand them a little better.

This is a really good read and I can't wait to read more books in the series.

Good story.
Ex drama for Hero.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Rich Hero but it's more like boss/ employer issues rather than a money issue.

I read through chapter 8

I read about Skye’s parents, the relationship between Skye and her parents, her educational background, her dad’s new family, her internship, flying to London, meeting her dad’s new family, her boss, the guy who wants to date her, his PA, the office, the London financial district, fish and chips, London restaurants, Skye’s flat, her roommate, her roommate’s background.....
Finally, bored to tears, I figured if there is a romance buried somewhere in all this minutiae, I no longer have the interest in uncovering it.
And so, I move on.

This emotional, steamy romance will make you so happy and giddy to the end. Their words will captivate you and you will need to finish this in one day. The words flow off these pages and come to life. This book is a top 10 read for 2020 that all romance readers will absolutely love. Will is hot and rich. Skye is just another girl traveling for a year. Their story unfolds with each amazing detail. It is a must read for all readers!!

April wilson has shown us her writing ability in the past books she’s written, but this combo of ladies writing together was amazing. Their words and characters came to life and completely filled me with such emotion.

April wilson writes family like none other. The love of family and friends is a key focus in her books. It makes life disappear for a while and lets you enjoy the fictional family in these pages. She is one author that is totally relatable and will weasel her way into your heart.

Will and Skye meet and there is so much laughter and misunderstanding, you’ll laugh your head off. Their story continues in an amazing way that will leave you begging for more. I love that it is one that brings Will to his knees, realizing what he was missing in life. This is one story you don’t want to miss by these authors!!

I enjoyed this story although it was a little slow-paced at times.

Will's character is sweet despite the fact that he has a well-earned reputation of being a womaniser.
Skye is lovely, I like her independence and how she doesn't let Will spend loads of money on her despite the fact he is rolling in money.

The sex scenes were well written, believable and not crude. Nice and steamy but not over the top.
I loved the ending and how they compromised so that they could happily be married.

I especially love that there was no angst in the book, nothing depressing, it was a sweet, lighthearted romance with a happy ending. I am impressed!

[1.5 star] book is not badly written, it's just very cliche with the whole plot. the whole hero is a manwhore, banging his PA left and right then dumping them after a few months. as for the heroine who is a virgin and an american who relocate to uk for an intern job, hero met her and was attracted to her because she was totally different from the women he used to date. tried to use expensive things to impress her but did not happen blah blah blah. that whole young naive girl falling for the rich man who impress her in so many ways is really kind of overused to be honest.

going on to my next book in the list....

Charmed - That’s exactly what you’ll be from this read.

This one covers all the bases. Super hot billionaire, Hot lead characters, sexy funny side kicks.

Beautiful settings, romance, drama, angst, and not to forget some super steaminess.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read and was sad to come to the end. It was certainly a journey we travel with Skye and Will.

But as with all good HEA, we have to have that rollercoaster journey to get what we want.

I’m hoping we get to see more of Connor and Kennedy.

2.5 cute stars

This book was crazy cute. Skye was absolutely adorable. The reason for the low star rating was mainly because of repetition in it. It is my biggest pet peeve. There were a couple other things as well that bothered me a little too…such as….Will did not act 31. He acted way younger and didn’t have any friends. Skye did not talk like a young American either, she spoke a bit too proper. Otherwise, it was cute. I enjoyed the fluffiness and do recommend if your wanting something light hearted.

Couldn't finish it

The book seemed to tag along with very little character development. I didn't feel invested in the characters or the plot. I hate to leave a book unfinished, but I eventually gave up after putting the book away and restarting it several times.

“Charmed” by April Wilson and Laura Riley

**Spoiler Alert**

Will was born into money. He has never needed for anything but…. he is in need of a good woman. One that he can trust with all his heart. One that will see him for himself and not his bank account, the only thing is, he himself is not aware of it yet… Will life throw him that unexpected little curveball?

Skye leaves her mom in the US and is on her way to the UK to intern at a company her father works at… Carmichael and Son… It’s only for a year and then she will be back home with her mom. Her mother warns her not to get caught up in anything and to only do what she went there to do... Work and gain experience. If only she knew….

Will’s girlfriend Rachel leaves him speechless. Will he recover from such a blow? Will his father blame him? He needs a new PA, but his father decides to take charge. He will now employee Will’s next PA for him… What will the old man come up with? Will, against his better judgment goes on a drinking binge for the weekend. He is so not in the mood to be at work but life must go on. Rachel really did a number on him.

Waiting in HR, Skye is a little nervous. What will her new boss be like? Tall, handsome and roughish looking… “You’re late” is not what she was expecting… This is a misunderstanding never to be forgotten. They always say “Things happen for a reason”.

Will is stunned! She is gorgeous, sweet and so not what he thought his father would pick for him… Get the tissues ready ladies… I laughed hysterically through this chapter. Connor is exactly was he needed. We all need a Connor in our office for sure. There will never be a dull moment.

Kennedy is Skye’s new roommate and Kennedy is the type of friend you want on your side. Just enough sass and a lot of spunk! Never mess with her or she will have your balls… LOL…

This is the first book written but April Wilson and Laura Riley and I LOVED it! There is SO much more story to read. Living in the UK and reading about the different places that were visited, I cannot wait to experience what they did.

The characters were very well thought through and they have their own duel P.O.V. The storyline will captivate you. You will laugh, you will cry, you will even want to ring a few necks in the process. I won’t mention names because you will need to find out for yourself. This book was very well written. You both did very well ladies! Cannot wait for Connor and Kenney’s story next ;)

DNF I can’t believe that this is the author. I usually love all her books.

I love this author usually so I was excited to see this series. I did think oh no, not about England but I tried it anyway. English people don’t talk like this! We don’t even say some of the words that she used for example ass. We say arse! A billionaire wouldn’t be talking about wanting to get sh*refaced it wouldn’t happen. Will is trying to get Skye to go with him to his old family home at the weekend. She’s reluctant so he tells her she’ll see horses and cows. 😂😂😂 Who talks like this??? Seriously!

Then there’s the writing. Oh boy. It’s so stilted, and doesn’t flow. I don’t need to read so many details, she got up late and got out of bed, and had a shower, then got dressed and went down the stairs. It takes forever for them to get anywhere near having a romance, and it dragged. Sorry. I didn’t like either of them either. She’s boring, and he’s under daddies thumb at work. I thought when I read that plot that he owned the company.

I’m really sorry as o love April Wilson it must be the co-author Laura Riley. I just couldn’t finish it.

Cinderella and Prince Charming in a modern setting👌♥️💕

I’m still breathless, yes I am... !!! If only I can give ten stars for this book I would... oh yes, each author should deserve their own five stars, right?
This magical book is my first introduction from these two brilliant authors...their joint collaboration has absolutely made this covid days more rrromantic than I ever expected it to be👍
With absolute certainty Will and Skye are the mostest truest personification of a modern Cinderella and Prince Charming that has ever been written in a book - a down to earth beauteous Skye with super intelligence unlimited and a playboy millionaire Will turned into a “one woman man” who unashamedly declared his love at first sight for Skye (who turned out to be a true virgin at twenty four!) just made this magical love story a life saving journey that I highly recommend for all those who values an epic true love story and who romantically believes that fate and destiny go hand in hand🙌

I loved loved loved this book. The characters are so well written, you can feel their emotions and feel like you're actually with them. I adored Skye. She's independent, sassy, and fun. When she travels to London to live with her father for a year and intern where he works, she vows not to date or be involved with anyone. After all, she's only staying for a year. Cue Will, making his grand entrance. He's a hot as sin, wealthy, British alpha male, notorious for his playboy ways. However, he's instantly attracted to Skye. Skye doesn't fall at his feet like other women and refuses his advances and gifts, which makes him want to chase her even more. As these two get to know eachother, can they escape the mistakes of their past to have a happy future? I couldn't put this book down, I definitely sacrificed sleep to finish it. I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to read about Kennedy and Connor! ❤

The romance between the two main characters was charming but the book was spoilt for me by so many inaccuracies which should not have been there considering that one of the authors is British and what is more a Londoner by birth which is where this book is mainly set.

Mayfair is not a leafy suburb on the west side of London but is in the heart of London, a sophisticated affluent area bordering on Hyde Park. It is one of the most expensive districts in the world. The language used for the British characters is totally wrong and certainly not used by people of the level and status of the characters.

When authors don't pay attention to detail it spoils the book - whilst it is fiction if real places are used then they need to be accurately described.

That said it is a pleasant enough book but not enough to grab you and keep your attention. Perfect for a wet afternoon when you are short of reading material.

Practical Skye Williams is in London for a year-long internship in the same office her British worked and get acquainted with his new family. On her first day of work, playboy/owner’s son Fitzwilliam ‘Will’ Carmichael mistakes Skye for his new PA. Will’s former PA was also his girlfriend, she’d quit him and the job by email to marry another co-worker.

Will was shocked by the news, licked his wounds over the weekend and promptly moved on from that woman after a second in Skye’s presence. But Skye’s dad, her co-intern flat-mate and her instincts said Will was a womanizer plus Skye didn’t want to relive her mother’s actions; mom came to London, met Skye’s dad, got pregnant and ran home brokenhearted. And Will was a risk, one the very practical Skye couldn’t afford to take. To my taste, this outing is a lovely lazy day CR read.

A quietly captivating Story

This is a good read for anyone who enjoys character driven stories with genuine emotional depth and a steady pace. I gave it the rating I did 1. Because I am a fan of April Wilson's storytelling and 2. The story felt real, the writing flowed smoothly and 3. The story kept me consistently engaged without feeling rushed. Actually some parts felt a bit slow, but they didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the book. I have rad this story twice and each time had the same reaction. The best part for me is the emotional connection to between Skye and Will but also the inter dynamics of all supporting characters without overkill or drowning the storyline.

This book is a lovely charming read

American Skye gets swept off her feet by charming Englishman Will.

Will is used to women falling at his feet but with Skye she’s different. He’s gotta bring out all his English charm to win her over.

Big shout out for Connor and Kennedy. I love Connor!!!!! Connor loves to push and annoy Will even thou he is his boss. Kennedy is a straight talking protective friend everyone needs. Need more of these two please.

Full of Charm, beautiful settings, delicious food, hot sexy mc’s, funny secondary characters, low on angst, romance and of course a beautiful HEA!

Definitely one to read!

Fun and charming romance!

Really enjoyed this book. Loved seeing how the H/h both grow in character. Love how the author describes both the city and the country. I love how the h wants to do all the touristy things in the city but how they both love the country life.
The secondary characters of Connor and Kennedy were great. Both I think helped the H to better understand others.

It's a fun read, a little different from the protector romances I usually read from the author, but a thoroughly enjoying story. I would recommend this book!

Sweet romance

I don't often read this genre but because I like April Wilsons books i gave it a go and liked it. It was nice that throughout, it highlighted the cultural and languages differences in an interesting way, although a couple weren't quite right.
The characters were well written, especially Skye. The billionaire of the title Will, didnt quite act as I would have expected and it made a refreshing change. The supporting actors were particularly interesting, Kennedy and Connor and their book is next.
It's a typical romance and a good read

Differences attract

A cute romance with billionaire and normal wealth, a bit of an age gap, and an evil ish ex girlfriend. The characters are well developed and the story entertaining. The villain(s) are predictable and so is the ending with compromise. The grand mom is a delight, as are the caretakers of both properties, and the landscape imagery vivid. Loved the friendship that was created as that group of four didn’t have any real connections at the beginning. I wish there was more about the supervisor and what happened, more with the mom, and more with the grand mom.

I absolutely loved listening to this book by April Wilson and Laura Riley!

Skye moves to London to intern at the company her father works for. Knowing this is only a year internship, she is determined to just have fun and stay career focused, no dating!!!

Will is a wealthy playboy who has women falling at his feet but Skye doesn’t and that intrigues him!

I listened to this on Spotify, and it was great!! Ash Kingsley and Harry Frost are both new to me narrators so that added to the story and each character! Great job!

Love is in the Air

I have never read a book by either of these authors but I decided to go for it and take a chance. I am glad I did. What a delightful story. It kept me interested and got me invested in the characters quickly and easily. I am ready to dive into other books by these authors after reading this sweet romance. Take the chance like I did. I am sure you will enjoy every minute.

My heart melted! Will is truly a Prince Charming! So debonair! Such a gentleman! I LOVED this story! Smart, gorgeous American girl falls in love with British dreamboat. Cue the heart-eyes emoji! Add in 2 besties, who have their own romantic tension, and you have a sweet little romantic love story! So dreamy!

Absolutely loved this story. Will is charmed by the US interim at his fathers company. She is not the kind of woman he is used to and he has to rework his tactics to win her over. A blast from his past almost ruins things but he won't give up on her or them. A lovely story, well written and wonderful characters. A must read!

Another brilliant book by April Wilson, not read any of Laura Riley’s books before, but will definitely be adding her to my authors list. I have read all of April’s books in the McIntyre Series and love them so couldn’t not read this one. Connor is a very cheeky chap and funny and I really hope Connor and a Kennedy get their own book.

Love this book and story, sweet romance. Skye is living in London for a year doing an internship and spending time with her dad. When Will thinks that Skye is his new PA they get off on the wrong foot, but there is just something about Skye that makes Will want to know more about her. But will their differences keep them apart?

Enjoyable romance...

I greatly enjoyed this new romance from not one, but two talented authors. I felt it was a little slow to get going and at times I found Skye's character a bit immature but once the story picked up I was hooked and the characters all grew on me as the book went on. I would definitely pick up the second book in the series!
