Sometimes we see an event and something just explodes in us into action
Jason is the second book in the Starke Private Security series and tells the story of Jason and Kristina. He has recently quit his job after deciding that he would not try to convince a fellow female employee not to file a sexual harassment complaint about a manager as he was being asked to do by one of the executives, since he was friendly with the woman. He ends up being given the business card for Starke Private Security by a bartender that he helped out. When there are no jobs out there that he is interested in he ends up in the Starke Private Security firm office interviewing with the owner and accepting a job. Just as he is about to be shown around a woman bursts into the offices and when their eyes meet it is instant attraction/love and he will do whatever she asks of him. Kristina is trying to hire someone who will find her missing older brother Brandon, who has a knack of being in the wrong place at the wrong time since he is friends with the wrong people.
As Starke Private Security is not a private detective agency they cannot try to find Brandon. But what Jason proposes is that she hire the firm to be her bodyguards while she tries to find Brandon. As he made the suggestion Jason is assigned this case and must ensure that Kristina is protected and kept safe, which he is more than willing to do even without getting paid.
Jason and Kristina's story has mystery, romance, drama, action, violence, intrigue and of course some sizzling chemistry between them. There are several other characters that are also in the story each with their own part to play as this fast-paced story travels to the final showdown.
I liked this engaging story and the interesting characters. What I did not like were the number of proofreading errors for a novella length book. What should have been at least a 4 Star rating instead is 3 Stars because of this issue. This is a shame as normally this author does not have this issue.
