Portrays shepherd life in the East from the twenty-third Psalm. Few people are acquainted with the habits and customs of Palestine, and so they fail to obtain from the Scriptures the first lessons they are meant to convey.

One of the most beautiful books in my list that deals with the shepherd character of our Lord Jesus. It boggles and warms the heart to read of the Shepherd's tenderness, lovingkindness to His sheep in middleeastern culture and how it applies to us as His sheep. Amazing stuff that will draw one's heart out to the loving Shepherd!

I didn't know how a Middle Eastern shepherd's was like, and when I read this, my knowledge increased 100%! And Psalm 23 took on a fresh meaning! You can't get this in commentaries, never(I think)!
