What happens when you have lead such a sheltered life that you are now in your early twenties and still a virgin about to embark into the real world of working and making a living? Well, you'd want to rid yourself of that pesky "V" card, right?!?! Well, that's what Brenna would like to do anyway so she sets out to do just that but then she meets Connor and OH BOY, do things get interesting from there!
Now I have been a fan of Stacey Lynn's for a while and I know she can write a steamy romance while still delivering a powerful story as she had done several times in her FIRESIDE SERIES but I wasn't prepared for the punch to the gut I would get with this one.
NO SPOILERS will be given so don't even bother looking for them, just know that this story while very sexy shows the sweeter side of this Rough Rider and I for one loved every moment of it. I Couldn't put it down!!!
This series does not have to be read in order, in fact I haven't read the first two books yet, but past characters do show up in this book. There is no ongoing thread between the books in this series so it is safe to read each of them as a standalone.

Wowzer, this was one steamy story but at the same time it had depth. This is the fourth book in the Rough Riders series but it is a standalone and it works perfectly that way.
I really liked Brenna and while I was not particularly fond of Connor initially, he quickly grew on me. Their first encounter didn't go as planned but that is not it for these two. I do not want to give any spoilers so all I will say is that things develop between these two despite their obstacles.
By the end of the book I felt like I knew these lovebirds, such is the talent of Stacey Lynn's writing and the story developed at a pace that felt natural.
I really couldn't put Cocky Player down and it came with me to make many cups of coffee and even to cook dinner. (burn dinner)

Cocky Player is book 4 in the Rough Riders series, but it can be read as a complete standalone.
The story introduces you to Brenna and Conner. Completely opposite in personalities, these two really know how to burn up the pages with their undeniable, red-hot chemistry and fiery passion. Although their initial attraction brings them together, without either of them knowing who the other is, it’s the sweet, emotional, and compassionate connection they share throughout the story that truly encompasses your heart.
Each character is flawed in their own way. Where one is a timid virgin with lingering PTSD from a traumatic experience in her past, the other is, well, a cocky player. Their relationship progresses from lust to love, flowing perfectly with the dynamic of the storyline. And what really shines in the story is each character’s personal and emotional growth, and how their relationship was build on honesty and trust.
I cannot get enough of the author’s books. Each story is written with finesse and bleeds emotion. Love isn’t easy. Sometimes it’s messy, complicated, and heartbreaking. But the author takes imperfect characters and makes their love story perfect for them.

I forgot ok! I forgot how good Stacey Lynn's books are.
I couldn't put this book down.
I feel like writing this entire review in CAPS but I'm going to restrain myself from doing that but I feel like screaming at the top of my lungs because I devoured this book!
You know my love for sports romance and male protagonists that epitomise the true meaning of 'alpha male'..Cocky Player delivered that to the point!
This book was SOOO HOTTTTT!!
Connor Quinten, Mr MVP is cocky yet dreamy. He is cocky yet considerate... Connor Quinten is without a doubt SCRUMPTIOUS.
Brenna.. I loved this girl!
She is innocent without being naive. From the get go Brenna captured my attention because she is self sufficient and she has a backbone to her where doesn't let a guy trample over her.
The chemistry between Brenna and Connor is out of this word! It has the perfect combination of lust, adoration and love.
When he peppers kisses on her forehead time and time agin...that made my heart melt.*swoon*
For such a tough guy, he is so romantic and 'soft' with Brenna.Even before they ended up 'doing the deed', they shared an intense intimate connection that was an experience to read about.
Do not mistake Brenna's innocence for naivity because she will surprise you especially in the bedroom department. There was a line in the book where she said "I might be a virgin but my fantasies are vivid" ..I think it's suffice to say Connor was shocked and throughly intrigued more than ever hahaha
The anticipation for them to get together was killing me because yes, this was a slow burn romance of sorts. The night they finally spend the night together was so flipping' hot! Fireworks everywhere people!
Cocky Player is a definite page turner for sure!
I think the entire time I read this book, I said a lot of "WHOA" and "WOW!".
Having said that, I must insist that this book wasn't an erotica but the feels and the sexual chemistry in this book was deliciously good without it being dumped into the genre of "all sex and no substance".
Brenna and Connor are the perfect couple. She is absolutely bewitching and he is intense without being overbearing and pushy.
His protective nature towards Brenna makes me want to weep for joy.
I highly recommend Cocky Player.

Spoilers ahead,2.5* not quite 3 but what the hell 🤷
I didn't like this one as much as book 2
h is a virgin who goes tons club intending to hook up and lose her virginity
She meets the h and doesn't tell him, during a bit of hand play he notices and is pissed thinking she'd tried to trap him
They next meet at her father's party where they realize that he's a player for her father's team and she's the daughter of his boss and a new employee for the team
He agrees to teach her about sex
They embark on a no strings involvement hiding it from everyone
H thinks he isn't good enough for her
h thinks he is
She was kidnapped as a child and kept for a week where they intended to sell her into sexual slavery. Sje wasn't raped but was beaten and starved
H was a major Playboy before the h
It was ok but it just made my brain tired
I really really really want Kolvo's book and hope this author gives him an amazing h until then I'm waiting hopefully

I was really caught up in Cocky Player and it didn't take me long to know that I wasn't putting this book down until I got to the end. I was interested in the characters, invested in the story and
loved the way everything came together. And, believe me, there is so much more to this story than what the blurb gives you.
Connor may have come off as the Cocky Player in the beginning but, as the story progresses, you see who he truly is. You will love him as you learn his story, see his transformation into the man that not only teaches Brenna about sex but also shows her what love is all about. He doesn't think or feel that he is worthy of her but, it becomes his mission to be that man that will be there for her, protect her and hold her when things get bad.
Brenna has baggage. Secrets that only a few people know. But, the sheltered life that she has been leading just isn't for her anymore. It's time she set out on her own, find herself and get rid of that pesky thing called her virginity. One look and she knows exactly who she wants to give it to. But things go terribly wrong and then they get really complicated when she finds out just who her mystery man is. Now what does she do? Well, she continues on with her plan and he's totally in agreement with her decisions. Until her heart becomes involved and the inevitable happens. Now, all she wants is the solace of her family and she knows that she has to walk away … she can't burden him with her problems.
But, she doesn't know Connor. She doesn't know just how hard he fell for her. She doesn't know what lengths he'll go to for her to understand that he will do just about anything to keep her in his life.
I loved this story. I loved how Stacey Lynn formed the characters and let us get to know them. She had Connor coming off as just wanting one thing … then she let his true colors shine through. He was patient, kind, caring, loving and didn't make the act dirty. His patience totally won me over. And she made us understand the real Brenna … the fear, the love and the horror of her past. The characters were well defined, interesting and fun. I loved the build up to the deed and how she made it a slow burn. There is really nothing bad for me to say about this story except what I said in the beginning, there is so much more to this story than what the blurb leads you to believe. Get ready for an erotic and wild ride with Cocky Player.

The first book by the author, and it won't be last. I wasn't sure what to expect going into this, I have learned to always go into a new authors books open-minded and I did with this. I mean the title gives it away a little but still, I was taken by surprise.
Although, this is in a series it can be read as a total standalone...
Where to begin? Well firstly, make sure you have a bucket of ice close by so you cool yourself off. Because holy shit this was pretty damn hot!!
I have started to become a little obsessed with sports romances lately. They are just so hot and the thought of an alpha male, it just does things and an alpha asshole football player? YES PLEASE and THAKK YOU and this little gem here was perfect.
We have Brenna, a virgin who's father owns Rough Riders Football team, and that's who Conner plays for. They meet on the dance floor. Conner automatically thought she knew who he was, but that's not the case. She doesn't really follow the football even though her father owns a team, she has never shown much interest in it. She's a girl that has been removed from reality really, she was forced to go into an all-girl school, she wants nothing more than to be a regular girl doing regular things..Like lose her V card, so in search for the right bedfellow, she comes across Conner.
Conner is a cocky little asshat and I loved it. He isn't a relationship kind of guy. Swears off them. He knows he's something special, he uses it too, he is a manwhore that doesn't take NO for an answer and 99% of the time he gets what he wants, when he wants it, well when it comes to women that are definitely the case. He has no problem getting their panties to drop for him. He was delicious...He was worried his boss (Brenna's dad) would find out that he was teaching his innocent daughter the dirtiest of plays, and the direst side of the football
Did I mention I was a sucky for an asshole? But you could see there was more to him than that.
This wasn't just a sports romance, it held more. Brenna's past isn't perfect and when I read it... Well, the sheltered girl I thought she was, was not the case. She is stronger than I first thought. I won't lie... At first, I thought it was just another typical virgin main female lead and when I say that, I don't say it as a bad thing. I am also a sucker for those types too. But Brenna was so much more. We learn why her family treats her they do and make her do the things she had to do... She was strong and her personality only popped as the plot got deeper.
These two together... WWOOOOOAH!! I could feel the sexual tension from the moment they met, that insane push and pull feeling was there and kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't get enough of these two. The chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS and as much as Conner was this "No relationship" guy, I couldn't help but cheer for them and you could see that side of Conner was changing.
The writing was flawless and I was completely fixated and consumed by the two and their intense relationship and encounters.
Highly recommend this!

Decidently Dirty with ALL the Feels Read!!! Oh boy, did this book keep me up late at night reading!!! Loved it, loved it, loved it!!
This is the first Stacey Lynn book I've read and I can't begin to express how much I loved this book. I was blown away by the storyline, the naughty bits, and how well crafted it was.
Connor was the right amount of cocky, detached jock that grew at the right emotional speed and displayed the perfect vulnerability that made him ultra irresistible.
Brenna was also the perfect mix of innocent wrapped with enough sultry sinner to keep Conner's interest, yet just enough emotional stuntness to also grow right along with him.
These two were the perfect combination for their non-relationship/relationship (whatever they were calling it day by day) and it was glorious to watch them both come out of their cocoons. Whether it came to dating or bedroom skills this couple continued to blow me away with how they handled situations.
Their similarities and differences pulled me in and made this a page turner late into the night.

Ich habe bisher schon alle anderen Bücher dieser Reihe gelesen und war immer wieder vollkommen hin und weg vom Schreibstil der Autorin und den erzählten Geschichten.
Dieses Mal lernen wir eine kleine Unschuld kennen und einen taffen Spieler, welche man vielleicht im erste Moment anders einschätzt als sie eigentlich sind. Denn auch wenn Brenna so einiges hinter sich hat und dies versucht zu verbergen und nun eigentlich nur ein Ziel vor Augen hat, steckt doch so viel mehr in ihr, was sie erst selbst finden muss.
Connor hingegen kommt auf den ersten Blick wie ein Mann rüber, der weiß was er will, wie er es bekommt und was er damit macht und damit ist dann auch Schluss. Mehr scheint er nicht zu wollen. Doch auf den zweiten Blick sehen wir einen Mann voller Einfühlungsvermögen, der sich bemüht und liebevoll und aufmerksam ist und dennoch auf seinen Schultern auch eine Vergangenheit lastet.
Mein Statement zu den beiden: wie man sich doch auf den ersten Blick in einem Menschen irren kann, wenn man keinen zweiten Blick riskiert und hinter die Fassade schaut.
Gerade in der heutigen schnelllebigen Zeit nimmt man sich viel zu wenig Zeit jemanden wirklich kennen zu lernen. Wir nutzen FB, Insta und Tiktok und sehen nur was man uns sehen lassen will. Die Person dahinter nimmt man jedoch nur wahr wenn man sich wirklich und ganz auf sie einläßt. Genau darum hat mich dieses Buch so mitgerissen, denn Connor ist so ein fantastischer Charakter und man ist froh, dass er hartnäckig geblieben ist und Brenna zeigt wie das normale Leben sein kann. Die Autorin baut auch bereits bekannte Charaktere in die Geschichte mit ein, aber es ist kein Muss auch die anderen Teile gelesen zu haben um in diesen Plot zu kommen.
Dieses Buch überzeugt vor allem durch Ehrlichkeit, Emotionen und einen Touch Realität, ebenso durch glaubwürdige Figuren und Abwechslungsreichtum.
Wenn ihr also Geschichten mögt in denen die Emotionen gern mal Achterbahn fahren, in denen man auch gern mal lachen darf oder zum Taschentuch greifen seid ihr hier richtig, wenn ihr dann auch noch auf sinnliche Szenen steht…greift zu.

Ich habe bisher schon alle anderen Bücher dieser Reihe gelesen und war immer wieder vollkommen hin und weg vom Schreibstil der Autorin und den erzählten Geschichten.
Dieses Mal lernen wir eine kleine Unschuld kennen und einen taffen Spieler, welche man vielleicht im erste Moment anders einschätzt als sie eigentlich sind. Denn auch wenn Brenna so einiges hinter sich hat und dies versucht zu verbergen und nun eigentlich nur ein Ziel vor Augen hat, steckt doch so viel mehr in ihr, was sie erst selbst finden muss.
Connor hingegen kommt auf den ersten Blick wie ein Mann rüber, der weiß was er will, wie er es bekommt und was er damit macht und damit ist dann auch Schluss. Mehr scheint er nicht zu wollen. Doch auf den zweiten Blick sehen wir einen Mann voller Einfühlungsvermögen, der sich bemüht und liebevoll und aufmerksam ist und dennoch auf seinen Schultern auch eine Vergangenheit lastet.
Mein Statement zu den beiden: wie man sich doch auf den ersten Blick in einem Menschen irren kann, wenn man keinen zweiten Blick riskiert und hinter die Fassade schaut.
Gerade in der heutigen schnelllebigen Zeit nimmt man sich viel zu wenig Zeit jemanden wirklich kennen zu lernen. Wir nutzen FB, Insta und Tiktok und sehen nur was man uns sehen lassen will. Die Person dahinter nimmt man jedoch nur wahr wenn man sich wirklich und ganz auf sie einläßt. Genau darum hat mich dieses Buch so mitgerissen, denn Connor ist so ein fantastischer Charakter und man ist froh, dass er hartnäckig geblieben ist und Brenna zeigt wie das normale Leben sein kann. Brenna and Connor were a lot of fun.
And, wow, did you feel their connection. It was tangible and the idea that she wanted him to be her first, it made sense as that's not chemistry you want to deny.
I loved the way the author built the chemistry until there was a connection between them that was more than just physical.
For a romance with one of the characters not having any sexual experience to work, you have to believe it's about more than a check-mark on a to do list and this one delivers.
Their first meeting outside of the hot stranger encounter was epic, and I was drawn in from that second to not only the attraction but the rest of their story.
I enjoyed and recommend this title.

It’s time to get up close and personal with The Rough Riders very own Connor, he’s one cocky, sexy, hot jock who finds himself taking the owner of the teams daughter for a walk on the wild side, with both of them losing something in the process her, her virginity, him, his heart.
The pairs relationship was entertaining to watch unfold as they both come out of their shells and love blossoms for them.
Cocky Player’s a five star must read it can be read as standalone but I guarantee if you haven’t read the previous books in the series you’ll want to once you’ve finished reading it.

This book landed in my lap accidentally and boy am I glad it did. Conor is THE MAN...talk about funny, kind, swoon worthy and sexy all wrapped in one big package. I absolutely loved him.
I really liked Brenna. Despite being inexperienced their chemistry is off the charts. These two made me laugh, cry and swoon so hard it is ridiculus.
Seriously if you're looking for a swoon worthy hero with a inocent but knows what she wants heroine this book is just for you.

Connor hat recht große Ego – Probleme, er sieht sich als Geschenk an die Frauen, nichts fühlen, das ist sein Motto. Hat er doch in seiner Kindheit auch nie gelernt wie Bindung funktioniert. Brenna versucht ein normales Leben zu führen, was bei ihrer Vorgeschichte, dem, was ihr in ihrer Jugend widerfahren ist, fast unmöglich scheint. Sie ist zu kaputt für eine Bindung. Die Story ist nicht nur unterhaltsam, sondern auch ergreifend. Sehr berührend, wie beide Protagonisten um Normalität kämpfen und besonders toll fand ich, dass Connor nicht aufgegeben hat. Sämtliche Nebenprotagonisten sind klasse und ganz sie selbst, vor allem Gina ist herzerfrischend.
Was mich besonders berührt hat, dass in diesem Buch etwas vorkommt, was man viel zu selten in solchen Geschichten liest: Brenna hat ihre Menses. Und sie redet darüber. Danke !!

Meine Meinung:
Das ist der 4 Band der Raleigh Rough Riders aus der Feder von Stacey Lynn. Wie schon die ersten 3 Bände habe ich dieses nur so inhaliert. Ich liebe diese Reihe abgöttisch. Auch hier wieder die Bände der Reihenfolge nach lesen, sonst spoilert man sich nur unnötig. Da die Charaktere in den Büchern immer wiederkehren.
In diesem Band geht es um Connor, ein Player durch und durch. Lässt nichts anbrennen, er will nur One Night Stands, alles andere bringen nur Gefühle mit sich die er nicht gebrauchen kann. Aber auch er hat eine andere Seite.
Brenna hingegen empfand ich als sehr starke und freche Persönlichkeit. Sie ist zwar etwas schüchtern, aber sie war mir von Anfang an sympathisch.
Die Handlung hat mich trotz des Thema in ihren Bann gezogen. Es ist nicht dieses typische Player vs. Jungfrau. Ich finde Stacey ist sehr behutsam an dieses Thema herangegangen und hat es langsam entwickeln lassen und dennoch knisterte es nur so in den Seiten. Die Anziehungskraft der beiden war förmlich spürbar. Ich fand die erotischen Szenen hier wunderschön mit eingewebt und sie wirkten auf mich keinesfalls zu viel oder vulgär, sondern genau passend.
Mit Cocky Player konnte sie mich auch hier wieder vollkommen einnehmen und begeistern. Es war eine humorvolle, erotische, heiße und romantische Geschichte. Ich bin wahnsinnig gespannt wie es weitergeht. Von mir gibt es 5 von 5 Feen.

This is a unique romance for the heroine- Brenna has some issues that we get clued into early. She doesn't want to be treated differently and wants to be normal. Brenna is the football team's owner and she joins the company in marketing, but before she begins she suddenly decides to lose her virginity. Connor sees Brenna at a bar and he doesn't have any clue who she is but he is immediately captivated.
From there their story is a rollercoaster ride of emotions and feels. Brenna and Connor have some sizzling chemistry. I was glued to their story. Without giving anything away, both had issues from their past that was a barrier to their present and possibly their future. I liked how Connor helped Brenna when she needed a strong supporting shoulder and when Connor needed someone, she was there for him. Loved the ending!

Cocky Player was such a good read it would be book four in the Rough Riders series and I can't wait to read more by Stacy Lynn and this series in the future . Brenna and Connor were perfect for one another I thought they shared a deep connection from the start and I was so happy with how the book ended . Cocky Player is a page turner that will keep you up all night with hesitant snack age break well worth it by the way . This can be read as a standalone and in order whichever you prefer , you really don'y want to miss out on this amazing book .

I have really enjoyed reading this whole series!!! I ready dirty player twice! I really enjoyed reading about Connor and Brenna, it’s a really beautiful story and just like the others I loved how accepting they were towards each other and how the men bend over backwards once they’ve fallen in love. These big tough footballers. Each book has been written with emotion, lots of spice and honour. I love the banter and also I loved the way we had some of the others from previous books mentioned. It’s so good! Love isn’t easy but it can be beautiful! I’m a big fan of the author!!!

My first book from Stacey Lynn and I absolutely loved it! As cocky and arrogant as Connor is, I liked how he has opened up and fighting for Brenna. Brenna is a girl who has a traumatic past which left her to not open up to people so easily aside from her family and her BFF Gina. I simply adore Gina. This girl is a BFF every girl wish for. She stand by Brenna and is as protective as her family are. I’m glad that Brenna is willing to take the chance to fight her fear with Connor.

Yass! This book was unexpected! Loved it. Wow! What a pleasant surprise! I loved the book and only wished I had been reading the others on the series prior!
