Welcome to Smoky Hills Academy #1 in Football #1 in Wolf Shifters
Rose
I know my parent’s death wasn’t accidental. And I won’t stop until I find answers.
When Cora introduces me to the mystery of Smoky Hills forest, I can’t help but wonder if the creatures that roam these woods took part in that fateful night. The night I was made an orphan.
Determined to get answers, I start with Fullback Grayson Keller. He’s big. He’s burly. But he’s the only one who can’t seem to look me in the eye.
Even though it takes some convincing, he agrees to help—until I begin to dig a little too deep.
Suddenly, he’s not returning my calls. And somehow I care more about that than the answers I’ve been looking for.
Why did I let him into my life? Why did I let myself care? Why did I ever think this would end in a pretty little bow?
My obsession for answers doesn’t seem to matter. Not when Grayson is missing.
Not when it might even be my fault.
If you love burly, lovable protectors and spunky, take-action girls, then you'll the second book in the Smoky Hills Academy series. PLUS, more chapters from Cora and Liam's point of view.
All Smoky Hills Academy books end in cliff hangers. Just to keep you excited for the next book to come!
Book two is just about the same story as book one. Different characters, same problems. Nothing is resolved from book one, just more of the same. So now we have more people with no resolution and a very, very slow moving plot. I think my frustration is greater than my interest at this point so I'm going to part ways with this series.
2.5⭐️ So this book was super annoying, they constantly were saying that they couldn't be together and it was about 2 separate couples saying the same thing, but they don't actually ever truly explain why they can't really be together, except for some type of feud between 2 packs and maybe they can't be with humans, but they don't really say why maybe it would just be dangerous for them to be together. It was just super annoying, and it's like these kids are supposed to be adults and act like adults and just ignore their feelings and they're not allowed to have fun and a normal school life.
I wanted a short audio book to distract me from my headache... I wasn't expecting much but this was even worse than expected. Literally nothing happened in this book. The characters were interchangeable. I realize these serial-read novellas are really just chapters in a longer work, but there should have been some character growth or plot forwarding. It ended on a cliffhanger, but not really because I can't be arsed to care what happens next.
3.5! This book was definitely better than the first. After the first one I debated on whether it was worth it. I feel like book one and two could have just been combined into one. It makes more sense that way. Overall really enjoyed this one and can’t wait to see what happens next and loved the multiple POVs.
The saga continues. Our hero and heroine from book one (Liam and Cora) are still pining for each other. Liam's second in command and best friend Grayson is also pining for Rose, Cora's bestie. Secrets are revealed. The guys are doing what they feel is best to keep the ladies safe and it's making all of them miserable. I feel so bad for them. I don't know if HEA is in the works for these two couples.
I love how book two picked up with Cora and Liam but was mostly about Rose and Grayson. I love the history and development of feeling between rose and Grayson. I absolutely love all these characters. al the twists and cliffhangers have me craving more. can't wait to listen to 3rd book in the series.
This was the continuation of the struggles of Liam and Cora but focuses more on the history and development of the relationship of Rose and Grayson. We get more of an understanding of what we picked up in the first book of this series and to why Grayson’s reaction to Rose was weird. In addition, we are given the history of both of Rose and Grayson’s pass along with more details about his sister and the wonderful woman that took both in. Just like Liam, Grayson struggles with right and wrong actions related to human and wolf relationship along with conflicting views of the pack family he abandoned.
This book in the series helps us understand the history of both Rose and Grayson but continues to leave questions as to what will happen with Liam and Cora. Yes folks, another cliff hanger!!! Lol
Het zijn wel hele korte boeken. Grappig om te lezen, maar niet een echte goede ontwikkeling van de personages en soms zinnen die niet helemaal kloppen. Misschien in eigen beheer uitgegeven?
This one picks up where the last one left off and we get to see Greyson and Rose's side of things as well as Greyson fated with Rose prior to Liam fating with Cora but was told to back off and forget about her. We also get more with Liam and Cora so this one was like adding characters but heavier with Greyson and Rose. I liked watching things move forward as we see our four couples struggling with wanting to be together but the boys trying to pull away and pull back. We also see Mother pack infringing on territory and pushing the boundaries. This story was interesting, no full resolution at the end and we get a bit of twist/cliffhanger as well so I fully expect the next story to pick up where this one ends. Narrator did a decent job with the voices.
I originally gave the first book one star because I really didn’t like how the story was playing out. I like that she added more characters to this story however it’s still very very simple. I understand that this is a YA but I have read Other ways that have been very well written. This isn’t one of them. However, for a very basic story it’s cute. I probably wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone other than children or people who enjoy simpler books. But I’ll still give it three stars because there is a plot and I know this story will fully come together by the end.
The plot goes nowhere it's repetitive not much romance and yes boring fast granite mostly written he basically well but it's missing a good editing of plot and is amateur maybe I'm just not 12 well no I read sexier books than this at 12 it's got potential and maybe a good read for some i want to know what happens but not bad enough to force myself to keep reading same scene 100 ways over and over
This was part two of the Smoky Hill’s Academy series. There was no real resolution to book one in this book, but it was good. I enjoyed reading about Rose and Grayson with a little more about a Liam and Cora’s romance. I am glad I waited until the whole series was out to read these books or I would be frustrated at this point. Fast read, plot continues....on to next book.
There just doesn’t seem to be much substance to these books. I mostly read the second book, since I knew it would be a fast read. I understand why the boys are choosing to stay away from their fate but they keep pulling themselves towards the girls they love and don’t seem to have any solutions to make it better. Instead of presenting possible solutions the author dances around the idea never voicing the options.
Aww Grayson and Rose are so freaking adorable together. So far they're my favorite pairing but then again this is only book two so who knows who might come out on top. But honestly they really are perfect for each other. There were times I thought rose might slap him or put up more of a fight though her ways of handling things spoke volumes as well. Honestly though I think a certain new wolf who showed up needed a good kick in the nuts, lol.
I'm still intrigued after book 2. But i feel like this book should be split. There is more Liam and Cora then there is Grayson and Rose and that's disappointing as I want more of both couples but I feel Grayson and Rose are sorely lacking in this book. I am intrigued to know where the story is going and where these 2 couples will be in the end...
Rose wants answers about what really happened to her parents.Grayson has some inkling of what happened but can't share his knowledge. Grayson and Rose being fated mates puts a twist on how they handle life going forward. He'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, can she walk away like he asks?
I read this in a day hoping to have some closure with the cliffhanger at the end of book one. This is a cute easy to read book. I really think this could have more to it but it is short and sweet. I’m gonna keep reading but I’m really not sure how the books will go for me with how little they are. I hope the books end on a good note.
Another cliffhanger? Really?? Love this series and the plot really grabs you but it just doesn't end! It doesn't even pause! Be ready for some long term reading of you start the series! Intense read!
Wow.... Book number two in the smoky hills academy really hits the spot for shifter romance... I really liked Roses and Grayson's story, and the fact Emma included views from Cora and Liam... It's all coming together and am excited to read the third book... I can't Waite to see what happens.
Good story. Good characters. Moves a little slow, but also I have been reading books double or triple the amount of pages, so that is probably why. I'm interested to see what happens next.
This is the cutest series I’ve have read in a long time.. Usually I read bully reverse harm stories, so this series is nice and sweet with a lot of mystery, secrets and sadness..
It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t great either. There was a bit more character and world building than the first book but still a lot of unanswered questions and I’m kinda starting to feel like it was written with 11-14 year old readers in mind.
This was so good! I enjoyed having new POVs along with Liam and Cora. The story is getting really interesting. Rose and Grayson are very sweet together. But oh my goodness that ending had me shocked. I can't wait to see what happens in the third book!
I love reading the second book, but there were some grammer errors, and the ending felt like it wasn't finished 🥺 I would still recommend this if you're looking for a short read and looking for a YA book 🥰
