Mendris Fox, infamous sword-for-hire, returns home to search for the man behind the attacks on him and Princess Jasmine Grant, only to find that the assassination plot was only a small part of the puzzle.
Dragons have returned to the land of man, and the Dragonian priests who worship the beasts have been plotting to enslave nations, including Mendris' home. To defeat the King and his deadly new allies, Mendris must reunite with his family, forge a new Shadow Brigade and create an alliance with the Faertai, the reclusive elven people of the Dark Forest.
This is the second book in a Series which l am enjoying however there seems to be no book 3. The characters and plot have good deth and l can see more layers can be added easily. It definately needs more proof reading as the grammer and spelling are atrocious in parts.
Too many errors: syntax, verb tense, sentence construction, readability, and more. I was disappointed in the lack of proofreading let alone editing. While the storytelling is still engrossing, these things and in the large amount proffered lessened my enjoyment, and detracted from the experience...
I have read most if not all of your series. I really like them but I am sick and tired of uncompleted series. I will be looking for other authors who will meet my need for completion. When reading kindle series it is very difficult to keep track of where you are.
My only wish is that the author wrote in good English. Perhaps if it were her first language it would not be so taxing. She might want to secure the services of a proof reader.
Final of this 2 book series. Continues the story and action quite well, nut could use a fair amount of copy editing, Sometimes characters are misnamed, which can make following the plot difficult, and there are more than a few mis-spellings of commomplace words.
Great story Good message that war is hell - to bad Putin does not get it Sons, daughters, Fathers and Mothers all die and leave pain everywhere Got distracted by reality Great story, great Characters, great morals, great alternate world
The lands of Oshva is in chaos. Most had been claimed by the invader, King Dehalle. Mendris Fox and his companions are determined to free their people and end Dehalles' tyranny. Adding a bit of revenge doesn't hurt either! This is an intense story that pulls you in. Deadly danger that kept me glued to the pages. This is a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat read with complex characters, revenge, pain, hope, courage and action. A must read!....... I would have given this book five stars, however, to me, this book was not cleaned up and ready to go as it should have been. The story was still well written and exciting for me so I had no problem reading it. The book is well worth the read.
Book 1 was well written and had a enjoyable story line and build up of characters. In book 2, the continuation of the story was good, but must have skipped the entire editing process. Typos, incomplete sentences, repeated thoughts and statements within the dialog were irritating and a distraction to the story. Would have rated a 4 with proper editing.
The story was a great continuation of the battles of shadow warriors. New alliances with elves. I want to read the next story but please get a new editor, or don't use spell check. There were so many typos and wrong word usage that it was very distracting. The most used one through out the book was (through instead of throw and threw) and since they were throwing a lot of smoke bombs it was used often. The story is a 5 but the editing makes it a 3
I want to start out saying I very much enjoyed the story, but I do have a serious complaint: the editing on this was VERY poorly done. It was bad enough to be a significant detractor when I kept having to stop reading and figure out what was meant by a wrong or missing word.
I submitted many of the issues, and hopefully they will be read and resolve many of the issues. But with as much as they detracted, I just cant give a 5 star rating.
I’m not the smartest cookie out there but this book has crazy bad proof reading issues. Wrong words or just simple spelling mistakes, even a chapter with the wrong character name for the elf haha still enjoyed the read but at time definitely hard to follow because of the mistakes
The story line, continued from ROGUE is good, as the character of Mendris fleshes out nicely. The editing and proofreading is so poor that it actually detracts from effortless reading of the story. I don't normally complain (except in my head), but it made plot movement less enjoyable.
I’ve really enjoyed Mendris’ adventures. The action and storytelling were great and I’ve enjoyed the story immensely. I like how normal their relationships are in spite of the fantasy of their adventures, and I can’t wait for the next book.
This series is well thought out and the story line is compelling. The reason I only gave three stars is because the grammatical errors and spelling mistake kept tearing me away from my immersion in what could have been a five star book.
I enjoyed the story, with its many good details and well-thought-out plot lines. But the sentence fragments and misused/misspelled words are extremely distracting. Hopefully, the next books will have better editing.
I liked the story but the flow can be a little stunted. The book switches POV frequently and that can throw you off. It's a good twist to sword & sorcery and it's at the beginning stages to form the story.
The story lines are good but this author must employ a decent proof reader - far too many errors to be forgiven. Get the feeling that this book was rushed too....
What an outstanding fantasy series, couldn't put it down. With new characters being added throughout this series and the great writing/ plot making of the story, will keep you turning the pages and wanting more. Highly recommend! Great Reading Everyone!
