Deacon Randall Harris is a well-known and beloved member of Savior Christian Church. His charm and personality alone could make anyone automatically gravitate to him. Deacon Harris appeared to be a true man of God, a man who wouldn’t harm a fly. However, his wife, Deborah, knew better. She knew first-hand how fast the kind man could turn into Satan’s spawn. For ten years, Deborah Harris has lived a double life. A happy wife in public, but a prisoner behind closed doors. This is Deborah’s story. This book is to help bring awareness to spousal abuse in general, but also within the church and Christian homes. If you ever witness abuse, please speak up because no one deserves to be physically, mentally, or verbally mistreated.
I was so moved by this story and God knows it's the truth. His righteous will not be forsaken and in the end He refreshed, renewed, released, forgiven and changed everyone and all for the better. This book gets 💋💋💋💜💜💜 Book well written and deserved😘
I did like the story, not the ending, I liked how the story was told. The fact that the abuser was a church Deacon was unique, but proved that you can't judge a book by the cover. It was not believable, though, that his church earnings allowed him such luxuries. And for such a high profile deacon, why didn't the pastor or any of the members notice how he treated his wife, Deborah? I didn't like the ending because the Deacon thinks he's reformed simply by learning from his mistakes. And his wife thinks she's found a new love, even though she points out that his charming ways are similar to how she fell in love with the Deacon. Sounds like I didn't like the book, after all. But no, it held my attention and I loved Deborah's growth. Another edit is needed. Not highly recommended, but decent.

I was a victim of emotional abuse , my ex=husband tried mental abuse but I wouldn't allow it. Now Physical abuse he wouldn't try because we would've been going God to toe. Thank you Sweet Tea for doing the light on the abuses that happens I the church setting, the right place to get delivered & healed if it's not hidden . God bless you!
I gave this book 5 stars because Deborah's story was worth it. Randall on the other hand did not deal with his issues or the fact that he embezzled the money from the church. But he gets a new girlfriend and a new start to his life. It annoyed me that the author couldn't keep her characters name straight.
This was a different book for me....I was glad that Deborah was able to get away from her abusive husband....He was really messed up from his childhood and inflicted it on her...We all have to watch the warning signs...I would have like to know what happened with her and her ex new relationships
The story had a great message. It served to remind you that “church folk” are regular people that encounter the same trials and horrors as many. Great content. What didn’t work for me necessarily was the style of storytelling, the characters, the lack of resolution when it came to the husband the abrupt ending and the spay errors.
I've never highlighted so many passages and sentences. I related to this story start to finish. I'm now with my forever love after an abusive "deacon" marriage too. My only negative thought was the misquoting of scripture, with the passage spelled out! Otherwise, a great read.
So many women go thru this , so glad she found her way. Super glad she trusted God and love. is good in so many ways we just have to trust him process. I thank him daily and this store confirm I should do more to help others
The beginning of the book was good and then about the middle of the book everything slowed down drastically and the story line just dragged on and on.The ending was terrible there was no warning and it abruptly ended.
I was caught up in the story from the beginning. The emotional tugging was hard at times, but I didn’t want to stop reading. This was a great story and I look forward to the book by this author.
enjoyed this book. I would recommend this book. I loved Deborah’s strength to leave. Most women would of stayed due to her husband status of being the head deacon of the church.
This is my first book by this author. It was very good. I laughed, cried and worried. I wasn’t to sure about Dwayne. I would love to know more about their journey and how it would end.
Mindboggling but real, this book had everthing - Love and pain Lies and half-truths Forgiveness Redemption and healing Deborah went through every emtion above, and came through victorius! Our upbringing shapes us into who we become as adults!!
Really great book I truly enjoyed it the courage the strength of Deborah and how she move on with her life with trust in God she is more than a conqueror she a frighter and a warrior Sweet Tee I loved it☺😊😀
Very interesting book! I'm married to a Deacon and thank God he is the opposite of Randall. At times I couldn't believe the things she had to put up with. I'm so glad she left him. I read this book in 3 and a half hours.
Good storyline but I did not like the absolutes in the book, the grammatical errors, the typos or the ending. I am not sure what category I will file this book under.
