I always thought these Precure manga would be rushed adaptations of the anime, but I'm very glad to see that's not the case. Rather they're slice of life extra chapters you don't see in the anime. Most of the chapters are around 10 pages, short and sweet stand-alone stories. I really liked chapter 7, though, which was lengthier. I definitely was not expecting a story about Emiru in something reminiscent of an abusive relationship, but the very clear line drawn between that person's "love" and Ruru's love is good for a child to read and understand. If it helps even one young girl learn how to draw her own boundaries, then I'm sure it served its purpose.
