Okay well the story is coming along. We finally know who her mum is and basically she's the enemy. I liked the look into the Angel school. It's nice that they are essentially working together. I loved the seduction classes....where do I sign up lol. This series is defiantly growing on me.

It's impossible not to love the crazy teen adventures of Nova and her demon-in-training buddies. Imagine a light-read academy novel with the perfect balance of screwball antics, paranormal pastiche and heartfelt moments. Combine it with the imaginative take on demons and angels, and really you can't go wrong with this series. I couldn't put it down. Knowingly writing YA but for an NA audience? We stan this.

So, a new year, a new semester. After that last year of finding out she's half-demon, being soul-bonded to an emotional recluse, and nearly being killed by various things including the literal embodiment of Chaos, Nova's hoping for a quieter time. Welp, she's not getting it. New classes! New roomies! New BFFs! New info on her AWOL mom! Undoubtedly new people wanting her dead! At least Raines is still his usual tall-dark-and-brooding self... Except he's not. Sigh. What's a second year demon to do?

Yep, it's light and silly, parodying those academy tropes while being a darn fine story in and of itself. I love when foreshadowing is done right, not to mention when tropes are picked up and skewered relentlessly while still being used in a clever way.

Now let's just say when I see anything labelled as a YA/NA-style slow-burn romance, I am dubious. Yet this is not one of those smushy hormone-fests, nor a series of confected conflicts created because the YA handbook says that's how narratives work. Nova is so self-aware it's actually brilliant. She wouldn't take any of that treat-'em-mean rubbish anyway. Yes, there are arguments and getting totes emosh, but it all fits in with their characters and story so well it doesn't feel like some made up stuff just because romance must be a thing slowed down to a glacial pace.

I love when a book gets the It's Complicated relationship so right. Can we get a hell (or should that be Hades?) yeah for characters with emotional intelligence?

Nova's narration is as snarkily brilliant as always. Side characters do go a bit quieter here, but Morgan is still as extra as ever and Teddy finally gets to have a bit more agency. Raines gets to show his more sensitive side (yes, he has one). Aleks talks. We see more of the world, including Elysium Academy (those guardians aren't quite as angelic as you might think) and some more on Nova's mom situation. It really balances out those light moments with something more deep and serious.

I love the angel/demon lore that's coming into it. I mean, demon poetry and demon sex-ed. Well, specilaised succubus/incubus instruction but still. Though folks, fear not; it's not what you think. Demons don't actually encourage that sort of thing in this world. They do write terrible poetry though...

All in all, seriously surprisingly fun to read. I am loving this series more than I thought possible. Considering how much teen Academy-lite fiction there is at the moment, one this entertaining deserves to be recognised. I need to know what's coming next!

-I received an ARC copy of this ebook from the author. This does not oblige me to enjoy it as much as I did nor review it as I just have-

Nova gets her full results and it turns out she's royalty. She also finds out her attributes which include she is strong and has the abilities of a succubus among other things.

Then she ends up with a different rooommate and so does Morgan and that leads to problems. She also has new classes such as:

Demonological Poetry (which apparently is closely related to Vogon poetry)
Practical Seduction Skills for Succubi and Incubi
Comparative Mythology and Religion (which I think would be fascinating)
Introduction to Old Norse.

Then there's her 'relationship' with Raines and the discovery that her mother might be held against her will by a nutso group called the Children of Abadon which want to restore Satan to total power over the Earth.

Again, a really good book in this series.

Omg.... this series seriously just gets better and better!!! It is so unbelievably addictive, I could literally not put it down, I had to keep on turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next and I was never disappointed!!!

The storylines just get better and better and I am blown away each time read another one of this author's books ... I adored learning more about Nova and her heritage as well as seeing her relationship/friendship with Raines.

I can't wait until I read the next book to see what else is going to happen in the amazing journey that is Nova's life. I highly recommend this book and this authors work!

I can't get enough of the relationship between Nova and Raines the electricity between the two gets more interest with every book. We carry on with the search for novas mum in this book and the trails and tribunations of demon university life. We are now in second year with different room mates and after the events of year 1 more of a specialised timetable for the students of Hades to horn their gifts.

So far the best of the series. I enjoyed the maturing of relationships as well as the search for family and past. Contained several unexpected plot twists.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Haunting. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

I received a copy of this book as a gift from the author. This is my honest review.

In love with this series!

This series is great! Demon and angel schools, awkward teen turning heartthrob, and a cult!! The mythology within the story is so well crafted! I truly love it.

Really cool

I loved this book! We spent 2 and a half books with Nova, desperately hoping she'd find family, her family, and then.... that! Wow! It's a great twist. Not entirely unexpected, but still, the horror of it was brilliant to read. Looking forward to the next one.

2 stars, but could be 4

I rated this book so low simply because there are so many effing typos and grammatical errors that it made me crazy.

Good

Yet another good book in this series! It is a bit duller than the second in my opinion but I cant wait to see what else happens.

Heroine is illogical, hysterical and stupid in this book. Too fast a skip over events that could have been explored.

An amazing magical ride

Nova’s second year at Hades Academy is just as full of conflict and confusion, mystery and magic as her first. Lyons continues the drama and intrigue with her compelling cast of student demons in their third semester. A terrific read guaranteed to leave you wanting more!

I'm living this series and the characters! With everything Nova goes through in third semester, I'm surprised she's still semi same at the end. Can't wait for the next book!

When my first year at Hades Academy ended, everything had changed. I’d gotten a hole blown in the school, broken a powerful magical vow, and barely escaped with my life. I thought things would finally settle down, but now that I’m back on campus, it turns out the changes were just beginning.
For one thing, the school stuck us all with new roommates—what?—and mine is a total weirdo (which is putting it nicely). For another, I have to deal with all new classes, including learning how to channel my newfound powers of persuasion and seduction (which, are you kidding me?). Even my friendships with Teddy and Morgan feel different. Plus, something’s seriously up with Raines now that his half-brother’s gone. Oh, and if that weren’t enough, we’ve got a trip planned to Elysium to mix and mingle with some guardians at the annual ball.
But most important? The results of my examinations are getting me closer than ever to finding out who my mom was, and where she went.
And she might be in huge danger.
So I have to find her, whatever it takes. Even if that means risking everything—and everyone—I’ve gained from Hades Academy.
Hades Academy: Third Semester is a magic academy NA paranormal fantasy novel with a slow-burn romance and a kickass heroine. Although there are love triangles, this is NOT a reverse harem. Rated 18+ for strong language.

I am loving following Nova on her adventures through all this.
So many twists and turns popping up and a bit of romance on the side.
The plot and story line are well written and keep me gripped til the end.
Loving how well the characters are fleshed out.
Can't wait for the next book now!!

Super Nova!

I think I’ve said it before, but Nova is my spirit animal - well person. I love the way she speaks, her attitude and the chemistry between her and Raines. Just saying, a reverse harem with the Infernal three would be a defo page turner!!! Hubba hubba!
I really enjoyed the story line, was sad that Morgan could move on so easily, but hey, it can happen that way. Can’t wait for the next semester!

This is the third book and the most enjoyable so far. The story flows well and the characters interesting. Some twists with them that add to the storyline. Great read and looking forward to book 4

The new semester starts, but the dynamics of the established friendships change. Nova and Morgan have new roommates, and their friendship is in danger. Teddy is a whole new person, Raines has problems of his own, while Nova tries to find more information on her origins and the location of her disappeared mother. But as the saying goes, beware what you're wishing for. Because she's in for a great surprise. And in the midst of all, she has to untangle her feelings for Raines and their relationship - or lack of thereof...

This is another excellent installment in the series, a must read for everyone who has followed Nova's story so far. Well-written, with plenty of suspense and intrigue, excellent characters and an in depth study in human (or demon in this case) nature.

Hades Academy: Third Semester by Abbie Lyons is a 5 star read.
We’re back for the third semester and right from the start things are changing, Nova and Morgan are no longer room mates and Teddy has had an image makeover, feeling a little lost and alone Nova spends some time with Raines who she can see is going through some stuff of his own. Move begins to research her family trying to find out who her mother is, when she gets some bad news about it she has to figure out where her loyalties lie. I loved these characters from the first book and they just get better and better, I can’t wait for the next book.

Another great installment to this amazing series. The gangs all back but everything has changed, and Nova is feeling left out when she needs her friends more than ever. Hunting for her mom is supposed to be top priority but her feelings for Raines are getting in the way, and with danger around the corner she can’t afford to be distracted. This well-written story is full of action, adventure, and mystery with a touch of romance to keep you thoroughly entertained. I was hooked from the very beginning and with its great ending it will have you coming back for more. I look forward to the next installment. You should definitely get this book you will not regret it.

Best yet!

Wow! This third instalment is the best yet. We get some much needed answers and some romance is developing between Nova and Raines! Yay! The characters are just getting better and better and I'm loving the different classes and more of the understanding about demon life outside the academy. Fantastic Abbie! I'm looking forward to book 4 and the development of the story and characters... Especially the Nova and Raines 'friendship'. Best book to date in this riveting series!

This is an incredibility well written book. We join Nova as she reads the results of her exetasis which almost got her killed at the end of book 2. She has spent the summer for her roommate and best friend Morgan and is returning to Hades Academy. However when she returns she find out that Morgan isn't her roommate anymore and things just are going as planned.
Raines is acting really strange and his friends think she can help him overcome his current funk.
I can't wait for the Fourth Semester to come out.

Summer is over and the second year at the academy has begun. Nova has a new roomie and her relationship with Raines has gotten a lot more intense and somewhat romantic. Her search for her mother leads to some surprising info that will set her on a dangerous path. Nova is truly a mesmerizing character! Add in a little romance, a lot of snark and a few superNova encounters, lol, that will leave you, or me in this case, waiting for the next semester. Nice!

This was my favorite of the series so far. Nova found out who her family was kind of. She researched and narrowed it down to Roth. Then she finds out that even with soul bond with Raines, she is actually falling for the guy. She loses her best friend to someone else and her new room mate isn't much of a talker. The second year for her has been ups and downs. Then she finds her mother only to realize that she is pure evil! Can not wait to read the next one.

This book was extremely enjoyable with never a dull moment throughout. Surprises throughout the book, but especially the ending. It held my attention throughout the entire story. The story line moved along smoothly without deviating from the main story line. I hope to read a bit more about Aleks in future books. Somehow, Abbie Lyons manages to develop her characters without losing the story line.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
